It was warm in the south bay. 91 in the valley. 85 in redwood city, also 92 in livermore. And along with that warmer weather today, of course, that humidity was also up there. We had dew points ranging from the upper 50s to also mid60s. Thats the true measure of the amount of humidity in a parcel of air. You can see here from oakland right on down to sunnyvale were still lingering onto some of that humidity. When you get to that 60 degree range for your dew point, thats when it starts to get uncomfortable. For a lot of you, you want to n know when this humidity is going to go away. Right now its going to stay for the next three to four days. Its eventually going to bring us thunderstorms. We thought wed take this one layer deeper here, and a look at why humidity is so uncomfortable. Think of this. When you sweat, the sweat evaporates in typical dry, california air. That produces cooling for your body. When you have dry air you have about this much room to evaporate that moisture. But when you sweat and its also humid outside it prevents the body from evaporating the sweat. Your body cant cool off. So nonetheless, theres not a lot of room in the atmosphere to take in that moisture from yourself as youre outside in the sun for today. And thats why it was pretty uncomfortable out there. Lets get a look at our live sky camera network. You can see cloud cover across san jose right now, looking beautiful. And areas of clouds streaming by. We still have the fog out here right now as you look from emoriville toward San Francisco at 1500 feet. Plenty of blue sky in san raw fell today. The fog is going to stay at the immediate coastline. And temperatures topping out at the mid60s by the bay. Mid to upper 70s with a mix of sun and clouds. Looks like a great saturday coming our way. Now in terms of rainfall weve been talking about the possibility of thunderstorms. Whats going to happen as this system gets closer its going to spin up some monsoonal moisture across the sierra. Looks like we might get a small branch of this. As we head throughout monday and tuesday. Thats when were really pinning the best timeline of maybe getting some thunderstorm activity. So most importantly, your weekend looks great. Temperatures in the upper 80s to low and mid90s, 60s at the coastline. As we enter monday, thats when we have the possibility of thunderstorms coming back into the mix. One last thing, were going to take a look at airport delays. No problems right now. The as cannot sit back. They have to find a way to make things happen. But theres a fine line between making things happen and forcing them to happen. And so the as approach this series with cleveland with a new game plan in mind. In baseball for some reason, its one of those games where the harder you try the less you do. You just have to go out there and trust your ability, i think, and just let the game happen, play it hard. Play it the right way. Do things the right way and make sure you stay focused. Stay on tomorrow of things. But the whole try harder thing is not always a good way to go. You have to focus on having a quality effect. Not necessarily i have to have a big hit. As soon as you start saying i have to, its going to mean trouble. No matter how bad youre playing youre one game from feeling good. It doesnt necessarily mean its going to carry over to the next day, but you know, anytime you get a win, you go away feeling happier and better about where you were. The attitude was good yesterday.
