Im told notification should have gone out to most travelers at least yesterday, so they should be well aware in addition to all the coverage thats been happening. A duty manager says 14 flights were cancelled, nine arrivals and five departures. Late this afternoon there were more than 3700 flights cancelled nationwide, actually through saturday. American, which had one of the busiest hubs at miami, had 900 cancellations, many in anticipation as the hurricane nears the florida coast. Pg e says a hundred of their employees will help restore power to florida residents impacted by the hurricane, leaving tomorrow. We have mutual aid with florida. Reporter raj, the clown shows up on social media wearing Something Like this, threatening school violence. Its happened in san jose. All the evidence points to this being a threat. Administrators say they cant take it that way. Students across the country are talking about the creepy clowns, including kids at this san jose high school. A little freaky . Yes, not knowing if theyre going to be around you or not. Reporter three threats have been made in the east Side Union HighSchool District in san jose. Each time its a creepy clown on social media, threatening to harm a specific student or students. I call it a hoax, a prank. Reporter even though theres no credible evidence of violence relating to the creepy clown threat, the superintendent on east side says you can never take a chance. I think most of it is about play and hoax and having fun, you just never known in this day and age. You have to take every one as a potential threat. According to the Sheriffs Department, four handguns have been stolen from sheriffs vehicles in Santa Clara County since 2010. There are times when we have to lock them in a trunk. In my mind thats not good enough. Reporter starting january 31st, all Law Enforcement agencies in Northern California will have to lock their firearms in a secure location under a new law. That law, signed by Governor Brown last week, comes after kate steinly was shot and killed by a stolen gun in San Francisco. The gun belonged to a federal agent and left it unlocked in his car. I think every recognized that this is a problem that needed a solution. Reporter senator jerry hill wrote the gun vault legislation. Today he called for Law Enforcement agencies across the country to install these. Small steel vaults, a little larger than a lunchbox, with a key to get in. The 750 vaults were paid for by donations to the sheriffs advisory board. Today senator hill and sheriff smith are hoping the small boxes will make a big impact on Public Safety. When those weapons are taken, they always seem to wind up in the hands of a criminal in some form or another. Reporter the law will begin january 1st. So megan raised nearly 4,000 to buy enough keyboards and music books to get her program, called music for all, off the ground. I feel like anybody, like anyone, if they take the time and effort, they can make a difference in this community. Reporter megan says she wants to run music for all until shes old enough to head off to college, then hand it over to one of her younger siblings. Her students may be not good enough by then to win competitions, but certainly good enough to convince their teacher shes hitting the right notes.
