Within the past few hours, we learned california had its first flu death, and the victim is from the bay area, the south bay. And as to whether this is going to be a worse flu season than last year, we dont know, but were starting two months sooner than last flu season. The last time around. This year, they say the predominant strain will be influenza a, same as we saw last year. Whats different is there are two more variations of flu that could make this worse than last years season. People who have some medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease, theyre at, you know, weakened immune systems, are at increased risk of getting the flu and having more severe disease with flu. The doctor adds that people allergic to eggs may have an allergic reaction to the shot and should consult their doctor before getting one. There is an alternative mist available.
