Eric smith is charged with negligently firing off his gun and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. Police say smith accidentally shot himself in the foot. The bullet then went through the floor, striking a 9yearold boy in the apartment below. The child is still hospitalized tonight and is expected to survive. A wild chain of events in san pablo. Raj, one child advocate we spoke with said we know theres eveling in the world and children are abused, but its what we do when we find out about that abuse that matters. In this case, the mothers testimony and the series of reports show the Santa Clara Department of social services did not do nearly enough. And the 4yearold girl almost died. We have learned this agency in charge of protecting 1300 children in foster care in Santa Clara County has a history of ignoring abuse reports. An audit of the Santa Clara Department of social Services Revealed it failed to answer 41 of the calls that came into its abuse and neglect hotline. The leaders refuszed to answer our questions about what the agency is doing to improve though numbers. Meanwhile, this mother says that she wasnt the only one who tried to alert social workers about serious injuries she saw on her daughters body while she was in foster care. 100. More than 100. They do trap within the guidelines for feral cats. Theyre concerned for a number of reasons including that its so close to halloween. They duck in and out of bushes in antioch over by dougs home on melon court, he said the problem is open space and too many wild cats. I actually had two fighting last week in that palm tree, in that palm tree, driving my dogs crazy. I could not get them to stop. At looeeast one of his neighs said they got a mysterious flyer saying the city would be trapping feral cats through the 31st. They said anyone who owns an outdoors cat might want to bring them in. Maria thought she got one of the flyers. The format of the letter, it didnt have a seal like you get from the water or whatever you get from the city. The problem is its fake. Antioch Animal Services didnt send it and they dont know who did. A supervisor said theyre only aware of one flyer and they want to know if there are more. Maybe they put our information on it just to be more like make it more legit. Its very serious when they dont identify theyre with a rescue group or out doing tnr, trap, neuter, return.
