While the president cant make it rain, he came to california to announce millions of dollars in federal aid is on the way. I understand he is announcing today over 200 million worth of drought relief. That will go to livestock producers. It will go to food banks to feed farmers who have lost their jobs. Reporter the bay area is in big need from vineyards to cattle operations. Even state parks are feeling the impact. Mt. Diablo had to turn off the water. Were asking the public to bring their own water. They have to bring their own water too. Reporter the folks on mt. Diablo help federal aid can help them develop springs for park users and cattle operations. He needs all the help he can get. If the president is looking out for us, thats pretty good. We have had some wet weather the past 24 hours, namely drizzle in San Francisco. Anywhere from 400 to 800. Now were continuing to track this subtropical moisture tapped well out into the pacific. That will combine with our next storm system offshore. Were still looking at rainfall as we head throughout the weekend. By tomorrow Morning Cloud cover increases. It begins to push here across the north bay. Well track this storm through its entirety. Well see you soon. We have new details on the arrest of a san jose firefighter. We want to show you a picture of mario who has been with the department for 20 years. Hes trained to rescue people but now hes accused of selling drugs to High School Students and sexually abuses a 17yearold boy. Reporter he was arrested yesterday here at the Fire Department administration building. Investigators even went inside and seized the hard drive from his work computer. A veteran of the san jose Fire Department, 53yearold mario has recently become to Departments Community outreach director working with schools and church groups. Now hes behind bars without bail charged with selling met amphetamine to minors and sexually assaulting a 17yearold boy. He was arrested here at the Fire Administration headquarters where investigators confiscated his computer hard drive. By the nature of the charges sounds like there may have been victims. I think every firefighter is feeling for any victim and their families for what is alleged. Its not in the character of firefighters. Were here to help people, not hurt people. Reporter he worked for the Fire Department since 1994. Most recently at fire station number one in downtown san jose. We do not tolerate any behavior thats outside the law. This is very unacceptable. Reporter in a statement the Roman Catholic diocese confirms mario cuestas worked three hours per week in the ministry of music. He began work in 2012 and submitted fingerprints which cleared the fbi and the department of justice. It had not received any reports of any illegal activity involving cuestas. The Fire Department says it plans to conduct its own investigation. Department of justice investigators tell me it is possible there may be even more victims. What youll be able to see here is up across the Higher Elevations were currently seeing temperatures running in the upper 50s also low 60s. It will be advancing conditions deteriorating through the bay area. We have that cloud cover with us. Its going to be clouded in. Locked with the low clouds from santa rosa. We wont see the rain stepping down with the cold front until about 4 00, 5 00 and 6 00. Mainly the north bay through the early evening hours. Throughout the lay evening hours 9 00, 10 00 and 11 00 moving down toward san jose and the peninsula back here through the east bay. Overall tote it wills still do not look impressive with this storm system at this point. Were only talking about. 50 of an inch. A tenth of an inch in napa and likely. 12 up over towards san jose. Snowfall totals will be up here but nowhere compared to that five feet of snow we saw last week. It will range anywhere from two to six inches up across the Higher Elevations. Kingville may squeeze out six inches. Near tahoe about two to four impls. Lets take you to that micro climate forecast as we head throughout saturday. Cloudy skies. Dont expect major sunshine for tomorrow. 65 in san jose. Cloudy and 62 throughout the pen n peninsula. Well see the best chance of showers with 60. Well see the best chance of early on showers yet again in the north bay including napa, santa rosa and throughout the trivalley temperatures holding in the mid60s. Pleasantton at 65. We have the rain coming back with us as we head throughout saturdays forecast. Then throughout sunday just a lingering chance of maybe an isolated shower in the Early Morning hours. Then the sun comes back out an note the temperatures will be cooler with upper 50s and also low 60s. One kind of gloomy day and well get the sun back for sunday. Thank you very much. They are a safety tool used by pilots to make sure everything goes well during a landing. Experts tell us too many go arounds can be a safety concern. Nbc bay area Investigative Unit analyzed more than four years of faa data of reported go arounds at fso. The go arounds date back to 2009. The unit analysis of the numbers uncovered several trends that experts say lead to questions about what can be done to improve safety there. By looking at the data there seems to be an inordinate number of go arounds on particular run way at an airport. That might be something that the airport Traffic Control folks might want to look at.
