As you can imagine, it was an emotional and hectic scene for many of the people in this area. Auction see now, San Jose Police officers and investigators have increa creston lane and mclaughlin boulevard known as the santee neighborhood. Police got a call about a man laying in the street. A little later they found a woman in a nearby residence with a gunshot wound, and sources tell me she was shot several times. She is now being treated for those wounds. There was a shelter in place called as police searched for any other possible victims as well as suspects. Now, ive been told investigators have been able to find some neighborhood Surveillance Video which is being examined now. We have not heard yet if the video or witnesses, including some who were briefly handcuffed, have been able to provide any clues to the circumstances as well as a moefsh motive to this case. But as you heard chris say earlier, this is still an active n franigation going on. Ng tobert, thank you very much yea that update. In the meantime, also new this n thing, we are just learning nue Francisco Police are derintigating a shooting that hearded a 14yearold boy on his gun home. It happened last night on the 1600 block of sunvale avenue. He started to run home and felt pain in his left foot and der fire he had been hit. F itinjuries are not considered kes. E life threatening, but at this point police say they dont have anybody in custody for the shooting. Ye bart came under fire when it was discovered that most of its surveillance camera oz is on it trains were fake. The public outrage came after a shooting on the train a year ago, and now the cameras are finally real. Hopefully bart riders feel a little safer. What are they telling you today . Reporter good morning to you, chris. You can take a look inside this bart train at the concord station and where weve got one of these video cameras. Weve seen these cameras installed on the bart trains for years, but now we know whats inside there is the real deal. Youre looking at new video cameras that will not only catch criminals on bart but they know theyre being videotaped. All 669 cars in the system now have four security cameras each on board, which, as you can see in this footage just released by bart, they all record High Definition video. The cost, just under 1. 5 million. Bart started upgrading the cameras last year after it came out that most of the security cameras were decoys installed in the late 1990s to deter vandals. Now they ask that you report the car number to police and theyll be able to pull the camera and possibly be able to identify the suspect. Weve already used these cameras. Theyve helped us already because weve been fully installing them. The train robbing incident at the coliseum, we have completely clear images of those suspects because of these new cameras. Its already led to the arrest and still in custody of two of the primary suspects. It just shows the power of having good quality video. Reporter riders became aware of barts decoy cameras last year after a rider shot and killed another man in a station. This was in january 2016. Bart released images of the suspect from the camera on the ticket gate but not the camera on board because it was a dummy camera. Authorities found out 70 of the cameras on board were fake. There was backlash for not having cameras working to capture and shoot pictures of these people doing these crimes. These cameras only record. Bart has at least a few years before they can get the technology where these cameras can provide realtime video to a location elsewhere. Right now they have dvrs and police have to come on the train or where those dvrs are located to get that video. Bob redell, nbc news.
