This weeks storm system continues to move through. As we go into the day. Maybe measuring the rainfall in a few hundreths of an inch and were seeing some of the showers moving through concord and also over towards britwood as well. Going into the rest of the day, well see some more of the showers as we go into this afternoon and into the evening. There may be some times where you see the rain coming down, and then you turn on the windshield wipers and before you know it its gone. Main moving in tomorrow, and it looks to bring at least measurable rain for the bay area, and it starts to move in during the evening as the winds pick up. This morning the Santa Clara County Sheriffs Office tells us that this alleged peeping at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center behind me took place in a nonpatient part of the hospital. The man who was under arrest was taken into custody last night. Here. His name is frereja ali and the received a tip last week that ali was allegedly peeping on at least one other employee from an outside window looking into a part of the building designated for the security staff and that whoever was inside the building was unaware of alis presence. Its not clear what ali was looking at, but according to the penal code for the crime that hes been charged with, there was some sort of expectation of privacy, something that he allegedly violated. Were still waiting to hear back from the hospital. One reasonco the sheriffs offi has released alis mug shot picture, they are trying to get more information from people who might recognize him and see if there are any other victims. Theres a Police Search going on in santa rosa for this man. Officers are looking for 39yearold Andrew Chaffer in the steel lane neighborhood of that area right near 101. This picture was just given to us within the last few minutes. Were told he got away after leaving a stolen car this morning about 9 00. Right now police, Highway Patrol and sheriffs deputies are all out looking for him. Were also told that steel lane elementary is secure and students there are safe. Youre being asked to avoid theyear for the next several hours. Imagine waking up to this, sam. It all happened in santani clar. Thats a car right there thats stuck in the bottom of a pool after a driver just plunged right into it. He minimum waged to escape with the help of firefighters. A teacher and a young student were killed in that shooting after the estranged husband of the teacher marched into the class rom and opened fire. Police say the gunman, cedric anderson, killed his wife of two months teacher karen smith in front of her young students. The report says the Business Model pressured employees into opening those accounts out of fear of not meeting sales goals. The bank paid 185 million in fines as a result. Starting this week deputies in Santa Clara County will be patrolling the streets with body cameras. Deputies at county jails will also start wearing the cameras and the Sheriffs Department will slowly roll out the camera over the next year to the 1,100 members of the force. Santa clara county is facing some tough criticism this morning after launching their new independent medical Examiners Office with top of the line badges in silver and goal, but its the price tag that has people talking. The badges will khost taxpayers just under 700 for one badge. Thats about three to seven times more than those worn by most Law Enforcement officers. Now many israel calling the highend badges excessive. I would never invest that type of county funds for a symbol. Its not a peeves jewelry. Its a symbol of, you know, Law Enforcement. In San Francisco its 61 degrees and from san rafael, this is where weve had a little bit more rain but not a lot, and as the sevenday forecast comes up at the bottom of the screen youll see well have more rain in the forecast for the next couple of days and also some cooler temperatures, but we are heading you have to 67 degrees in san jose today, and for the east bay, danville at 65, antioch 68 degrees and vallejo at 64. Heading over towards the peninsula, Half Moon Bay 62. Also 62 in san mateo and San Francisco. The Marina District only up to 57 degrees today. 64 in santa rosa and some off and on showers. Were seeing that on the radar now, but not everyone is seeing wet weather. As you head out there going to walk the dog or going out for lunch, you may have a couple of sprinkles but i dont think it will really chase you back inside. Weve seen the rain mostly over towards Sonoma County and napa county as well over towards fairfield and then over towards the east bay. Its been very spotty and that hit or miss rain is what well see as we go through the rest of the day. May even get a few peeks of sunshine later on this afternoon, especially for the south bay, but there will be during the evening commute the need for some drivers to turn on the windshield wipers and maybe even an umbrella for a few minutes. Later on tonight, well start to see the activity tapering off with cloudy skies. For tomorrow going to see a better chance of more measurable rain for the evening. It starts in the north bay by about 7 00, and then as we go into the late night hours seeing this rain rolling on through with some gusty winds and still some lingering showers in the forecast on thursday before this weather system wraps up and gets out of here in time for a dry start to the weekend. We will have the potential of getting about a tenth to a quarter inch of rain for most of the peninsula, the south bay and the east bay. North bay may get a little bit higher, closer to half an inch of rain and for the sierra were already starting to see the snow showers moving through around the lake tahoe area. Heres the view from heavenly. Absolutely gorge out, but its 42 degrees. Any rain in that area will change over to snow, and were looking at high elevation snow, mostly above 6,500 feet. The possibility of getting several inches of more snow over the next few days so make sure youre prepared for that if youre headed in that direction. Nbc bay areas pete suratos has more. Reporter two dog owners in San Francisco claim that their dogs got sick when fertilizer was sprayed here in the park in San Francisco last week. I smoke to the chronicle claiming there may have been a chemical in this fertilizer that caused their dogs to vomit and foam at their mouth, but citys park and Regulation Department claims they havent used fertilizer in this park in about a year. I spoke to a dog owner this morning who was in the park about this issue and heres what he had to say. They should put a warning. If they are going to put pesticides they should march, you know, the people who come here, so i wouldnt want my dogs to be sick. Did you hear any residents talking about it . No. Reporter because parks and reck say they havent used fertilizer in about a year. I see them cutting the grass and usually have a very friendly staff and polite people and we never had any problems. Reporter paper reports that the two dog owners sent an email to the District Supervisor Hillary Ronin who is looking into this matter with the citys park and Recreation Department but at the time these are the only two incidents that have been reported in this park. A 60yearold man is arrested. The kind of story that would make many parents skin crawl. Rube noval gonzalez is facing 47 charges of sex Crimes Involving children who were living at his house. School officials in west Contra Costa County says there could be more victims because his job required contact with children. Its part of why were putting the Media Release out because it is there are other victims out, you know, i would like they have the strength to come forward. Reporter come forward and identify 60yearold ruben gonzalez. The Police Detectives arrested him at his home just over a week ago following a basketweave investigation. We were alerted to mr. Gonzalez through child Family Protective Services who went to the school to contact one of our victims. Reporter police soon discovered there were the a least four victims, all relatives, and police say the abuse spanned over a 15year period. Its been a team effort, and through that weve been able to establish that he did work at a school. Reporter gonzalez has been involved with the west Contra Costa Unified School district over a sixyear period. First, as a volunteer. Later a yard duty supervisor at olinda Elementary School in richmond. That the job ended in last december. Gonzalez was currently working as a night custodian throughout the district. Police say hes not accused of Sexual Misconduct on district property, but School District officials fired him one day after his arrest. Were hearing more about a gruesome murder on the peninsula. The victims neighbor has been arrested for the killing. San mateo district attorneys says a digs mohammed body was found in buckets behind david stubblefields house in san bruno. Investigators say an argument over the sale of a space heater led to the killing. Another Sexual Assault investigation at uc berkeley. A student reported she was at at Fraternity Party saturday night when it happened. At this point police are releasing few details and no suspect description. Laura, Defense Attorneys are still trying to push the possibility that sierra lamar may have run away from home. Attorneys yesterday calling two witnesses to the stand who talked about having contact with the suspect and the victim in the days leading up to sierra lamars disappearance. Now, a teacher who taught sierra in a class before she moved and transferred schools testified lamar returning at least once to her former classroom to visit old friends. Reporter this house was supposed to go on the mark for 1. 7 million, but now work verse to take an additional three weeks to make repairs because vandals broke windows and caused other damage, and it all started with a post on social media. You. Reporter vandals broke several windows of this brand new luxury home on Rosemont Court in san jose and they didnt stop there. They ripped out staircase railings and kicked in doors. The aftermath of a party that turned destructive. Realtor Heather Lafrance says someone posted on social media about a party at the vacant house. Somebody found out that they were vacant and secluded and decided to put out an invitation on social media that went viral and all of a sudden ive heard the numbers of around 50 teenagers showed up and had a party. Reporter she says its a growing problem. Kids find out about these open homes and that they are vacant and sent out an invitation on social media. We put a lot of work in these houses and to know in ten minutes they can do a lot of damage so it does kind of hurt and its kind of frustrating.
