Critics of the proposal say that if people drink water with these higher levels of radiation, it will mean more of them will get cancer. Under the state Drinking Water act, we are to be protected over a lifetime of radiation exposure at a certain level. But what epa proposed doing is allowing you to drink, in a single glass of water, as much radioactivity as you would normally be allowed in an entire lifetime. The epa insists that these new levels are safe and reflect a new understanding of the science around radioactive elements. But even some workers within the epa disagree. Lawyers for the president elect filed a motion this weekend to delay the Trump University trial until after the president ial inauguration.
