Bring us up to date on the latest polls. Reporter sam, it has been a very long journey. The latest poll shows a sixpoint lead for hillary clinton. However, it varies between three points and six points with the various polls that are out today. Now, this is after 18 months of campaigning down to just hours left in the election before American Voters decide who will be the next president of the United States. Hillary clinton hit the campaign trail for the last day before Voters Decide who will be the next president. I really do want to be the president for everybody, people who vote for me, people who vote against me. Reporter clinton talked unity after her Campaign Staff feels vindicated following a new letter to congress by fbi director james comey. He reaffirmed that no charges will be recommended against clinton for her emails. She did not mention the controversy while campaigning. Instead, saying we need to build bridges, not walls. We have got to rise above all of this hatefilled rhetoric. Reporter the latest nbc news wall street journal poll shows clinton up by four points. Trump not backing down calling clinton corrupt. Hillary clinton is being protected by a totally rigged system. And now its up to the American People to deliver justice at the ballot box tomorrow. Reporter he told the crowd in florida that he would fight the oppression of the people inside cuba and venezuela. Trump went on to appeal directly to minority voters. I want you to know that you will have a true friend and champion in donald trump. That i can tell you. Reporter still, democrats say theyll win the ground game to get voters to the polls using their supporters. Already 43 Million People cast a ballot early. And donald trump is campaigning in five states today. Hillary clinton will visit three states for her final push. Reporting live in washington, edward lawrence. Now back to you, sam. Edward, amid this lastminute blitz you mentioned a second ago 43 Million People had already voted early. Were seeing that trend happen across the country, certainly in california. How much effect do you think the lastminute campaigning will have on the outcome of the election . Reporter it could have significant effect actually. We had 118 million votes in 2012. So you have a majority of votes, if youre using that number, still out there. In 2008 there was 131 million votes. So you can see theres still a lot of votes to be had. Donald trump trying to hit those swing states that are right on the border, and those states hes hitting the polls are one point, two points and a virtual tie in some other areas, so it could be vital for that lastminute push. All right. Edward lawrence live from d. C. Thank you very much. Good insight. Now, speaking of election day, the system that links the bay area is, of course, b. A. R. T. , and millions of people take the transit, and now the agency is asking for billions of dollars to keep moving. This morning political heavyweights came out in support of that measure rr. Nbc bay area is live in oakland with both sides of this story. Reporter yeah, good morning. This morning in downtown oakland you had the oakland mayor, San Francisco mayor ed lee, and even congresswoman barbara lee all here supporting measure rr which would sent essentially upgrade n fact of b. A. R. T. Like we have here. Even with all the star power we saw here today it doesnt mean everyone is on board with this plan. A whos who of sorts in california politics standing on the steps of the plaza in oakland pledging their support for measure rr. Im here in passionate support of measure rr. Reporter this controversial bond measure would provide more than 3 billion in upgrades to b. A. R. T. Supporters saying it would repair the decades old infrastructure and help modernize a system thats seen plenty of overcrowded trains. Its up to the voters in San Francisco, alameda and contra costa counties since the bond will be repaid from property taxes in that area. This is about the fate and future of the next generation of residents in this region and in this state. B. A. R. T. Has engaged in financially irresponsible behavior for the last two decades. Reporter but folks like Democratic State senator steve glazer want more accountability on b. A. R. T. s end when it comes to their Money Management before asking taxpayers to pay up. He cites an example of employees being paid 1,000 bonuses tied to an increase in b. A. R. T. Ridership as an example of wasteful spending. Measure rr is a halfbaked plan with no financial protections against using over 1 billion for higher salaries and benefits for the highest paid transit workforce in america. Reporter now, if this passes, b. A. R. T. Is going to have to put together an Oversight Committee to follow the money per se when it comes to the overall plan of this project. Of course, that all depends on how the vote goes tomorrow, guys. Were live in oakland. Pete suratos, nbc bay area news. And were talking about measure e. This is a live look inside that rally at the Silicon Valley chamber of commerce. Supporters are inside right now. If passed measure e would force employers to offer more hours to employees who are working less than 40 hours a week before the company can hire more parttime workers. So this is seen as a protection for parttime workers. Less than an hour ago one of those workers delivered what she says is the meager meal that she can only afford on her parttime job salary at mcdonalds. She presented that to the president of the Silicon Valley chamber of commerce. Workers say they need the extra hours, but the chamber of commerce says if the measure passes, it would only hurt businesses and would sometimes put parttime workers out of work. Its going to shift all of the hours over to 28,500 employees, and the rest of those, which is roughly 40,000 employees, parttime employees, are all going to lose their jobs. The proposal is the first of its kind as places like seattle and San Francisco only applied similar laws to the retail sector. On election day the nbc bay area Investigative Unit has your back. A group of crabbers kicked off the season in pacifica but large waves made it very hard to catch any crabs. According to the chronicle, crabbers spent hours out on the water and barely got anything. Last year crab season was delayed for several months. If youre a fan, you know its because the crabs tested positive for a toxin. But this year with the high waves, the crabs kind of Collateral Damage at the start of the season. No kidding. But anytime we have election day in the forecast we always wonder if the weather will keep people away from the polls. We could see record numbers weatherwise. The temperatures will be climbing up close to 80 in a few spots. Speaking of the coast, the surf finally calming down a bit after a rough weekend as you heard with the crab pots there offshore. Wave heights coming down to six to nine feet, still fairly high but not as high as the 15foot swell we saw at times over the weekend. Shaping up around midweek could be another round of high surf as these windy and energetic storms offshore take a lot of rain to our north but the wind from those storms fanning the waters of the eastern pacific and there you see another long period swell, maybe up to 15 feet or higher, approaching our coast late tuesday into wednesday. Maybe another round due into thursday and friday. Even if the rain bypasses the bay area and our temperatures warm up, use caution on the coast as we will see at least two more rounds of high surf headed our way this week. Temperatures outside right now, 65 already in San Francisco, pushing 70 right now in livermore. Notice the wind direction. Its offshore as High Pressure builds in. Thats the reason why were staying dry and temperatures will get close to records. San jose close to. 0 rig 730 right now. Out to the coast, not too bad. San carlos, the mountain view, hazy sunshine. So the trend of the day, well probably see another round of patchy fog overnight through the central bay and also have to watch as the offshore breeze to see if any fog drifts in for the morning and then for the afternoon sunny skies, hazy conditions and temperatures climbing a little bit more for tomorrow. Today were expecting mid70s around downtown san jose. Gilroy could get close to the upp upper 70s today. Peninsula temperatures lowselves down into palo alto. And San Francisco close to 70 around downtown and north bay temperatures climbing into the low 70s. So for election day weather, at least midafternoon were talking mild temperatures. Would not be surprised to see some mid to upper 70s. So no excuses weatherwise other than maybe the patchy fog. Election day weather looks fine. This is our next best chance for rain and not a good chance at that. You can see what the high is doing to the rain chances late friday into saturday. Could see a chance of a few showers, and you unfortunately after a very rainy october and sierra snow, that is a very dry looking november forecast. As you can see through the week, well see temperatures cooling as more clouds fill in but theres the next best chance for rain late friday into saturday. Coming up, well take a look out to november 16th to see if this pattern might change up beyond the sevenday forecast. Thank you very much. The surprising color and our questions when nbc bay area responds next. Nbc bay area responds to a richmond homeowner who has a full list of complaints against a contractor who painted her home. Consumer investigators Chris Ka Murrah is here to tell us where they are. Good morning. This womans first complaint to our Consumer Investigative Center was the color her home was painted. She was supposed to choose the color, but instead the contractor did it for her. She wound up with bright white home with bright pink trim. And the price tag, 14 grand. Thats when she reached out to us. Its just unfair that we would have to pay 14,000, i should say she would have to pay 14,000 for a job that looks like i went to the school and got kindergartners to paint it and just gave them a brush and said just go ahead and do what you want to do. Unbelievable. 14,000 . We learned a lot more about this contractor, including how it was planning to bill the homeowners for the work. It was not your typical payment plan. Well explain how and why the contractor shouldnt even have been doing business in the first place. Thats tonight at 6 00. Ill see you then. Have a great day. Chris, thank you very much. I was looking forward to making some stew or chili this weekend. Were talking maybe near 80 in a few spots next couple afternoons. Outside right now a live view of san jose. Despite all the fog we had this morning, close to 70 right now. Hazy sunshine. Also see some of the high clouds and some of our south bay microclimates up and down the santa clara valley. Willow glen, 72. You see down to the south where that fog was really thick this morning, 72 degrees. Around the peninsula, 70 in palo alto. Redwood shortses a little coole. San francisco, the high clouds starting to thin out. 65. Notice the wind direction offshore. A sign High Pressure is in and were going to see the high temperatures climbing. That was the view early this morning in San Francisco. We had some mid and high level clouds. The outer fringe of a very powerful storm bringing a lot of wind and rain to the pacific northwest. Now, the wind across the water will push a long period swell through the coastline as we get towards late tuesday and wednesday and very likely well see another surge of that long period swell coming in with another storm thursday into friday. So what it means on the coast is our wave heights havent come down a lot since this weekend. Still six to ten feet offshore. That will likely rise up to a 15foot swell and maybe more, 20plusfoot waves arriving as we head into wednesday morning. In terms of rainfall, really nothing out there besides patchy fog and mist. That could set up again tonight as we head through election day tomorrow. Notice a similar forecast. Mostly clear skies. Only issue weatherwise to watch towards oclock tomorrow evening, could see some patchy thick fog along the coast. Santa cruz county, san mateo on the coast you may have reduced visibility approaching 7 00. No rain in the forecast. Temperatures well above average by ten degrees in a few spots. Trivalley temperatures in the 70s. Same as you head into concord and antioch. You see around the peninsula easily into the mid70s today and upper 60s to low 70s in San Francisco and north bay in the mid70s today. So the election day outlook now could see numbers actually south of san jose that may get close to 80 degrees tomorrow afternoon. So besides the patchy fog that will begin the day and end the day out on the coast, not much in terms of weather getting in the way of election day around the bay area. So the best chance for finding rain towards the end of the week, that will be late friday. But as you see there, the system does kind of fall apart as we get into saturday, and that really looks to be the only chance well see here in the extended forecast.
