Now to a midair mystery, a giant passenger plane declaring an emergency diverting to another airport after multiple crew members got sick on board. Abs david kerley joins us now. David, whats the latest on the investigation . Reporter well, were not getting a lot of new light from british air ways this morning. We know it was an emergency declared. A diversion but the mystery is why were some of the crew members sickened and taken to the hospital but none of the passengers . This morning, little explanation from British Airways on how members of the crew on this super jumbo jet became ill but not the passengers. Firefighters in breathing gear walked through the double decker after it diverted to vancouver. Can you say again the emergency for me, please . Toxic fumes, toxic gas type fumes. Reporter declaring an emergency with more than 400 passengers on board after taking off from San Francisco, the jet dumped fuel, telling passengers they would have to land. People started panicking. A woman in the seat was crying. Reporter the london bound jet makes a turn. Made a complete uturn and i was like whats going on here. Reporter one passenger telling abc news he was told three crew members passed out. British air says theres no evidence of, that but the pilot passed up miles of nearby airports to head to vancouver which is better equipped to handle the big jumbo jet. On the ground, not one passenger hospitalized but while 11 of the crew were reportedly ill, all 25 were sent to the hospital as a precaution according to the airline. Sometimes things are very difficult because maybe one person smells something, maybe they feel they react one way. Maybe you cant pin down that fume. Maybe it was something coming from the cargo hold that was just momentary. Reporter all 25 crew members were discharged from the hospital. All british air is telling us this morning is theyre investigating the cause of those fumes that made the crew members sick. It was concerning. David kerley with us, thanks. That officer was trying to stop the stolen car suspect in San Francisco yesterday when he was hit. He is expected to recover. Suspect was shot by police and is in critical condition. The woman reportedly robbing three people at gunpoint, and even though police say the victims turned over their belongings, the woman opened fire anyway. Why would you shoot people you intended to rob when theyve already given you their belongings . Also this all happened right out in the open just outside a miami park but that also means surveillance cameras caught the whole thing. This morning, miami police are searching for the woman in this newly released Surveillance Video seen opening fire on three people saturday night. I was like, bop, bop, bop. Reporter you can see the shooter dressed in white running up behind the group. One of the victims quickly hands over her purse and cell phone but the suspect opens fire anyway. The victims then frantically toss their cell phones and wallets to the ground and scatter and run for their lives. You even see the suspect pick up the belongings, but still again, she fires again. Shooting eight rounds in total. The victims handled over the property and the female offender still shot them. Reporter all three victims were hit by the flying bullets. Witnesses then rushed to their aid until ambulances arrive. I took my shirt off and i applied pressure to his chest. Reporter and police are still searching for that suspect saying she was a passenger in a white or silver chrysler sedan. Someone so young, you know, and crying out, and i dont know if we helped him enough. Reporter one of the victims, a 12yearold boy suffered a gunshot to the stomach. He was rushed into surgery, but is recovering this morning. The other is a 17yearold male and 20yearold woman luckily only suffered graze wounds. That 12yearold boy had just arrived from honduras the very day of the shooting. He is now in stable condition n but the shooter still is out there and police dont believe she acted alone. So a big investigation in miami going on right now, david. Really difficult to see. All right, thank you. In the meantime, we turn to that blockbuster legal brawl involved media mogul, sumner redstone. The 93yearold suing two of his exgirlfriends alleging elder abuse and Mara Schiavocampo has more. Reporter good morning. That suit is also claiming fraud and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Saying that those women were in cahoots to take advantage of one of the most powerful men in media, leaving his pockets a lot lighter and his heart much heavier. This morning, an explosive new lawsuit. 93yearold billionaire media mogul, sumner redstone, suing two former girlfriends for what he claims was a calculated scheme to take his money. In the 31page lawsuit redstone, the Controlling Shareholder of viacom and cbs, claims that starting in 2010, 53yearold manuela herzer, a former girlfriend and 45yearold sydney holland, his girlfriend at the time, joined forces to install themselves in his estate plan and secure fantastic wealth upon his passing. Moving into his home, the suit claims, isolating him from friends and family. Firing long time staff and draining his accounts. Nothing that is alleged in this lawsuit is remotely consistent with reality or the facts as they are today. Reporter in 2014 alone, the pair allegedly charging thousands on his credit cards every day. Including more than 750,000 on interior design services. 128,000 at barneys, and 82,000 at hermes. The suit claiming when all was said and done the women had taken more than 150 million in five years. At one point convincing redstone to sell all of his vested Stock Options and later that same day redstone made two transfers, 45 million each to personal Bank Accounts of holland and herzer. He wants every penny back. He wants all of the money that he gifted, gifted, in quotes to ms. Herzer and ms. Holland, he wants all of that money returned. The suit says redstone now also has a huge tax bill related to the womens spending. Redstone is seeking undisclosed compensatory damage, punitive damages and legal fees. We did reach out to hollands lawyer, but we did not get a response. A lot of explosive allegations. Seems like he has a good case . They have a lot of documentation including household staff that reached 0 out to his children saying wow. Keep our eye on that. Thank you, mara. Most National Polls show trump trailing clinton slightly but trump is calling those polls phony and rigged. Take a look. When the polls are even, when they leave them alone and do them properly, im leading. But you see these polls where they are polling democrats. Hows trump doing . Oh, he is down. They are polling democrats. All right, matt, it is confusing for some because theyll see one poll and it says one thing and see another it says another thing. So you were trying to explain whats behind this. Well, first is is that donald trump seems to think that polls determine the result and dont reflect the result. They actually reflect the result skmr , and as i said before, you look at them in total and look at them in average. Any one poll could be slightly off but when you look at them in average they are actually correct. And its like the difference between a thermometer and a thermostat, right. A thermometer tells the temperature and a thermostat tells you what is in the room. Not a reflection of what it might be. Possibly. And we have seen before in 2012, there were two polls that showed mitt romney two polls out sli t slightly ahead, but that was close untilled end but the polls on average when they went into election day in 2012 were about a twopoint barack obama advantage. We never know what example youll give, the thermostat. I get it. But you helped us understand that way. Care that includes the innovative patient navigation system, which the center credits for their high treatment completion rates and helps patients like anika continue to thrive. When i walked in, i felt that i was going to be okay. It is an incredible and comforting facility, and i learned Something Else and it gets back to the idea of trust. When ralph lauren founded the center in partnership with memorial sloankettering he didnt want his name on it. He didnt want to draw attention to himself. Dr. Freeman disagreed saying it will give people a sense of trust and it will make people feel like its a place of quality. Even you were saying. Many people are familiar with that facility. There you are. Hi, rachel. What is a crowd pleasing dish i can make for my roommates at home . A crowd pleasing dish for roommates. Chicken. Chicken goes a long way. It is an inexpensive protein. Its wildly available. Theres thighs and drumsticks for people who like a darker meat. Theres breasts if youre looking to make it lean. It runs the gamut and this is an easy recipe for you, one of my buildable dishes, chicken with citrus and herb butter, a compound butter you can have in your freezer really fast so you can get it on the table quickly and hopefully youll like your roommates because theyre going to stay forever. What carla has is carrots, butternut squash. You can buy it cubed and makes it easy, pumpkin, sweet potato. Any root veggie would be great. Rachael, can you put stuff on a pan . Yes. Okay, good. A Little Olive Oil and salt and pepper and thats it. Dont overcrowd the pan so you can put it on two sheets if you want to. Throw that in a 400 degree oven until tender, half an hour. Done. Okay . Rachel, you two are over there cooking and robin is already eating over here. Thats why i love this woman. You need to show rachel its edible after. Rachel, can you heat a skillet . Yes. Can you salt and pepper some chicken . A little bit. A little bit. This is a whole chicken. You can get your butcher to break it down so youre not wasting anything. Breasts in first. Everything goes in skin side down and again make sure not to overcrowd the pan. Its going to go five minutes. Make sure you use an oven safe skillet because after its golden brown like this, were going to add some fresh orange juice. Oh, yes. Theres nothing super like crazy about this recipe but it will feel unique because it has these interesting bright flavors you might not have combined before. Orange and oregano and goes in your 400 degree oven where your root reggies were and when it comes out, the chicken is totally done like robin is testing over here. You take the remaining little bit of chicken fat and orange juice and reduce about a cup of white wine, i know you got that around your house, and now heres where you get the hallelujah moment. Okay, stay there, whisk. Okay. Compound butter, this is citrus, chive and oregano. Same ingredients, toss that right into come on. Its for the roommates. Give a little extra. Stir that into your sauce and this gets ladled over your beautiful chicken dish. Dinner is done and great and buildable for kids. If you can do that, im moving in with you. You and the kids, man. Theres room. Theres room. Michael, clinton, its your turn. Before you get started we have a quick question from emilio in the audience. Whats your question . When i make that it comes out really dry. Pretty chewy. Happens to the best of us. It does. It does. Its probably because youre doing boneless chicken breast which can dry out really easily. Right from the supermarket. Thats it. So well show you how to use bone in chicken thighs, they do not get dry and well do them in a braise which really infuses moisture into the chicken, so super easy. A little salt, a little pepper in your flour and make sure you do that, season your flour and then can i help . Yes. Come on, stra, mix it up. There you go. Dip one of those chicken thighs in there. Get it dredged. Theyre dredging. He said dip. There you go. Dip you did. Shake off the excess, skin side down in the pan. Skin side down. Your other skin side. And then you put about three or four of those in the pan. Dont overcrowd the pan or else they wont get brown. Thank god youre pretty. Im trying. Im trying to help. Shes over here eating. You want me to go to her program . Ill just eat. All right. So once these are brown, take them out, set them aside and take it away. Then over here, in the pan with all this stuff you put a little bit of carrot, celery, onions and a little herb, rosemary and tarragon or thyme and throw that in. You add a pinch of salt, and you sweat them out till they look like this. Thats all the good stuff. To that were going to add some garlic. We adly little bit of tomato paste because you want to cook it out, white wine. Get to the wine. Stock of the chicken. And now these ones that we browned up, we didnt let stra do them because that was just a nightmare. Put these back in. They go right in . Right in and this is a braised so its stay moist and delicious. Oh, wait. Look at you. Time to fly away. Everybody. 1 00 eastern right here on abc for the chew.
