Mountain view police confirming the person who was shot following a rap concert at shoreline amphitheater has died. Authorities received multiple calls about the shooting just after 11 00 last night following a concert by wiz khalifa. The shooting happened backstage. Police have a a description of one gunman and are asking for witnesses to come forward, namely anyone who might have video or pictures. In oakland, all lanes of southbound 880 are open following a fatal Traffic Accident involving a motorcycle. The accident happened around 3 15 near the hagenberger offramp. Chp officers closedal sou all southbound lanes, but theyve been reopened. A trusted east bay educator is being held on 1 million bail, facing charges of child pornography. Shocked parents and students trying to figure out what to do days before the start of the new school year. Abc7 News Reporter Alyssa Harrington has details. 58yearold Mitchell Wolf was arrested friday morning. The internet crimes against Children Task force served a search warrant at his danville home. The Diablo Vista Middle School teacher was booked on charges of pornography. Were shocked and saddened. Terry koene, a spokesman for the San Rafael Valley Unified School District said wolfs computers were seized. Hes been a math teacher since 2002. We have no reason to believe that any students are involved in the allegations. This 17yearold had him as a teacher and a soccer coach. Im going to hope for best for him. Because its a tough situation for him and his family. The principal alerted parents through email saying students and staff might be interviewed as the investigation moves forward. Its a teacher that we trusted and that we know nothing other than good things about. To not pass any judgment until we know more. Wolf has been placed on administrative leave. A substitute will teach his class. The first day of school is monday. Not the way koehne says they want to start the school year. But theyre working to make it as normal as possible. The santa clara business that helps others finds itself in needs this morning as fire investigators search for cause of a fire that sent donations up in smoke. Abc7 News Reporter Sergio Quintana has the latest. Flames tore through a doe nag storage area for Hope Services, an agency that helps people with disabilities. This is cell phone video shot by a person who says people at a nearby mosque tried to make sure no one was in danger. Everyone was kind of like scared because theres a childrens playground here. Were trying to get the kids out a safe way from the parking lot. This was a singlea larm call. It took fire teams about 45 minutes to snuff it out. Firefighters remained on scene for several hours. To make sure there were no flareups. Right now fire investigators say they do not suspect any criminal activity. Nothing that we would describe as suspicious, just under investigation right now. Until we can determine a point of origin and a cause, but no indications of any criminal activity or anything like that on scene. It was a normally reported fire. Three delivery trucks were destroyed in the fire. You can see the burntout shells of the vehicles among the fire debris. A spokesperson for Hope Services says the trucks are an integral part of their operation. I think people are well aware of our trucks, that go around and collect discarded items. And then we collect them and then help put people to work who have disabilities, who might not otherwise have jobs. Theyre still trying to determine how their services will be affected by the fire. A threealarm fire on mayor island kept fire crews busy yesterday afternoon. Sky 7 hd was over the scene. The fire broke out around 3 00 in the recycling yard of the alcoa iron and metal company. It sent up a plume of heavy black smoke, seen for miles. The fire was isolated to the scrap metal yard, no reports of injuries. A state senator says he takes responsibility for his actions. The images show the ice covers about one million fewer square miles than it did in the 1970s. Scientists say the ice is now thinner than ever. So its more susceptible to being blown around by wind, and other heat inputs like from the rivers around the arctic, which dump warm, fresh water into the ocean. Scientists say less ice during the summer could have dramatic effects on weather patterns and climates around the world. And that is a spacex rocket selfdestructing above the companys Central Texas test site yesterday afternoon. Just moments after liftoff. The rocket was unmanned and no one on the ground was hurt. Not everyone is barking up the same tree when it comes to allowing dogs to dine with their owners on restaurant patios in california. I like the idea of being very dogfriendly. As long as the people are responsible about training their dogs. This week, governor jerry brown signed into law a bill that allows canines on to the patio rather than outside the gate, outdoors at restaurants. Were very happy that now it allows us to be not looking over our shoulder and allowing dog lovers and folks with their pets to come to the patio and have fun. Up until now its been a gray area as to whether they were allowed within the dining area. Lark creek, walnut creek prides itself on being petfriendly. We get a lot of requests. I think it will be good for business for us. It seems, most diners we talked with didnt have much problem with letting fido in on the feeding frenzy. As long as their owners play by the rules. Im fine with it. Personally, you know, theres a lot more people that bring their dog out, and they want to be able to go to a restaurant and have outdoor dining. Others have some concern. Not about the law, but why the legislature felt the need to take up the issue in the first place. I dont understand why there are laws being passed about things like this i think california might have some more important things to pass laws about. The new law takes effect january 1st. Mountain view based google is having to modify its latest selfdriving car. The current prototype has no steering wheel, no brakes, no gas pedal. But thats going to change, because Californias Department of Motor Vehicles is requiring all selfdriving cars to ininclude full human controls during testing. Google plans to test the vehicle for the next couple of years. So it will be a while before you start seeing them on public roads. Would you let someone follow you around and keep track of you every moment of the day . Probably not. But thats exactly what we allow our smartphone apps to do. 50 of shoppers dont want to be tracked, and 13 say they get too many messages and it bothers them to get offers for things theyre not interested in. The biggest objection is over privacy issues. The app swarm keeps track of where you and your friends are. So you can meet up. Social media is all over geolocation now. Tyler cohen wood is showing me her smartphone and all the apps keeping track of her using geolocation. Tyler is the author of catching the catfishers a book about online security. Shes a senior officer and a cyberbranch chief for the french intelligence aeg. People need to read the terms of service of the applications theyre using. They need to quickly look at the permission settings of the applications that they use. But even with that, she warns there is no absolute privacy online. Even these anonymous applications, theyre not anonymous, someone is going to know something and theres always going to be a digital bread crumb thats left behind. But the good news is is if you know that, if you understand that, you can take control over that and you can really start to control the image that you want for people to see. Milpitas is the first city to provide recycled water station force Construction Contractors in the south bay. The citys drought ordinance prohibits construction sites from using Drinking Water for things like dust control.
