This morning, family and friends of a teenage girl are devastated after she fell off the cliffs near lands end in San Francisco. This is video of the beach patrol riding into china beach with the victim in tow on a stabilizing board. Unfortunately, she passed away just minutes after being rescued. The teen had fallen at least 50 feet from the cliffs just east of mile rock beach. She was with an adult and another friend when she fell. Authorities believe she was not on the designated trail when she lost her footing. She had multiple injuries and fractures. She was barely breathing when we got to her. She made it all the way down she fell all the way down to the water, so tlefr, she was in the water. It was kind of cold. I would say approximately 10 or 15 minutes in the water. Officials say a rising tide and treacherous conditions made it difficult for First Responders to get to her. Now to the heat wave. As me td us,he weather is starting to cool down today, but the heat wave has been a good thing for the vines at bay area wineries. The vines have been growing too fast. State laws require vineyard workers to stop working if temperatures reach 90 degrees. They tell abc 7 news the policies began in the late 60s. This week, workers started their days earlier so theyre not working in the hottest hours of the day. With more hot weather in the forecast, firefighters fear theyre going to face conditions like they did when flames forced people to escape from their homes in vallejo. Sky 7 flew above the scene as the fire raced toward homes in the glen cove neighborhood. It started when a jeep burst into flames along 80 near the carquinez bridge toll plaza. One woman now faces the job of repairing her home and backyard after her property was damaged in the 40acre fire. The fence can be built up again. You know, the trees can be planted again. It happened around 10 30 last night at the intersection of monterey road and bailey avenue. Two cars collided and flipped. It decimated the cars in the process. One man died at the scene. Another was taken to the hospital for his injuries. San jose police are still investigating the incident. Turning to the heat wave, the worst of the hot weather is behind us. Homeless advocated set up shop, handing out cold water and snacks. At least two people have died from heat related illness in san jose this week. One was a homeless person in their car. A 2yearold massachusetts boy survived a fall from a second story window thanks to his stuffed animal. The boy was at home with his great ankle and sister when he was jumping on the bed.
