Today, students here at Dublin Elementary School will see the custodial staff cleaning, taking steps to control the infection, all tips given to them by the county health department. 35 kids here at this School Stayed home sick yesterday all with noroviruslike symptoms. One case has been confirmed. The district issued a statement to parents asking them to encourage hand washing with their kids. They also updated them on what they are doing to control and stop the spread of the virus, saying that the campus was deep cleaned over the weekend. They utilized more than 19 Staff Members and 150 work hours over the weekend. Work has continued into the week under the guidance of the Alameda County department of health. The school is asking parents to keep home keep kids home who are sick and to keep them there for a while. They dont want them to return to school until they have been symptomfree for two days. Reporti reporting live in dublin, amy million, abc7 news. And developing news in hayward this morning, authorities investigating a Police Shooting that left a woman dead and officers searching for a wanted man. Sky7 was over the scene near campus and oaks drive where the suspect crashed his car and took off on foot last night. Officers searched into the night but eventually called it off around 1 00 this morning. Fremont police tried to stop the driver earlier near an apartment complex on carlos bee boulevard. The vehicle was stoemen and wanted in connection to multiple armed robberies. The suspect suddenly rammed the detectives vehicle, injuring two officers. Police fired into the car, killing a woman who was inside. Two other people inside the car were detained. The injured detectives were treated at the hospital and released. Now that weve seen two pages of President Trumps 2005 tax returns, the question this morning is if that release was even legal. Independent journalist David Cay Johnston released the forms after he claims they were anonymously sent to him. The white house says johnston violated the law. Abc legal analyst dan abrams appeared on gma. Furthermore, theres specifically a Supreme Court case out there which addressed the question of the media getting information that was illegally obtained. Can they publish it. And the answer according to the Supreme Court was yes. If the media cant report on the president s tax returns, then what does the First Amendment mean . Abrams says he doesnt think the white house will take legal action. Johnston is now speculating that President Trump himself or someone close to him may have been the source of the hi, right now, i do have a breaking news update on that huge hack overnight affecting hundreds of twitter accounts. Where media and some celebrity accounts were hacked to actually show the turkish flag and tweet out messages with nazi symbols. Well, twitter itself has responded, saying it removed permissions for twitter counter, and said no additional accounts were impacted. The app, twitter counter, was reportedly compromised and its responding this morning as well, saying theyve taken measures to contain users accounts and i want to show you an example here of that tweet that youve been seeing throughout the morning, that several big names were tweeting out forbes magazine, amnesty international, one of the tweets youre seeing here, and Bbc International among some of the really big names. Reggie, natashaing back to you. Happening today, lawmakers in sacramento will hold a hearing on oaklands deadly ghost ship fire. 36 people died in the december 2 tragedy. It happened during an Electronic Music Party at a warehouse that was an illegally live work space for artists. The focus of the hearing will be on how to prevent any similar tragedies. Edwin bernbaum, the father of victim Jonathan Bernbaum is expected to testify. Oakland is sending an assistant city administrator and this hearing comes a day after oakland revealed the embattled fire chief is retiring. Teresa deloach reed has been on leave since mid january. Criticism started to build after reed admitted the warehouse where the ghost ship fire happened had never been inspected. Two deputy chiefs will be in charge while the city looks for a new chief. The death of a Sonoma County woman missing for more than two years is now being ruled a homicide. Annie baillys body was found last month. Investigators say evidence shows she was murdered. Theyre now calling her husband a potential suspect. Yesterday, sky7 was overhead at the pengrove home that annie bailly shared with her husband kerry as it was searched for investigators. He says he learned on monday that his wifes remains were positively identified. He insipss he has nothing to do with her disappearance. Theyve been beating the hell out of me for over two years. They think i killed her. She was really, really suicidal. Suicide is ruled out. And an accident is ruled out. This is definitely a homicide. It was not selfinflicted and it was not an accident. The city still has to negotiate a 15year lease with the developer jamestown llc. Jamestown says they already have a brewery, a Coffee Roastery and a wine bar ready to move into the pier. We have some new information that we received this morning. Ill get to that in just a second but i want to show you what people heading to cal state east bays campus here in hayward will see on their way there. Its the police tape. Theres some here. Theres some across the street. Theres some in front of this apartment complex here on campus drive so what exactly happened last night . Hayward police say Fremont Police detectives stopped a stolen vehicle that was wanted in connection with multiple armed robberies and fremont and the bay area. This was at the city view apartment complex on carlos bee boulevard. Police say the suspect vehicle with four people inside rammed the detectives vehicle, injuring two detectives. Those detectives fired at the suspect vehicle, hitting a female passenger. That vehicle took off and ended up crashing near campus drive and oaks drive. One suspect got out and ran off. A second female and another male occupant were arrested. The female who was shot by detectives was taken to the hospital where she ended up dying from her injuries. S. W. A. T. Teams searched the area but couldnt find that remaining suspect. Students were told to shelter in place. Obviously, every Single Police officer going back, up and down our neighborhood, down by the canyons, coming back here, all over the place. Reporter classes were not interrupted but many roads to campus were blocked off. The two fremont detectives were treated and released at a local hospital. You can see those big flames at a tow yard in martinez this morning. Its at the north main tow yard on blum road. Witnesses report a few explosions during the fire as well. And smoke could be seen from highway 4 and 680. We reached out to the Contra Costa County fire. They tell us they knocked it down in about 15 minutes and that three cars were damaged. Want to also show you this. They tow everything from wrecked cars to simple breakdowns so if youve been towed in the east bay recently, you may want to check up on your car and the status if it was at this tow yard. The fbi in San Francisco will discuss charges in connection to massive hacks on yahoo. Sources tell abc7 news four people with suspected ties to russia will be charged, three in russia, one in canada. The fbi expects to arrest the suspect in canada. They do not have access to the suspects in russia. Sunnyvalebased yahoo has been hit by two large breaches with data stolen from an estimated 1. 5 billion accounts. Moving on now, work is expected to begin to repair damage to an east bay reservoir that supplies water to silicon valley. The reservoir is located near tracy. Operators at Clifton Court fore bay say theyll shut down a pump to repair an intake structure. Customers will not have their water cut off. Water from the reservoir is sent to 19 million customers in southern california, silicon valley, and the san joaquin valley. Marin county officials now estimate the winter storms caused nearly 10 million in damage to public property. The countys identified 24 locations that suffered damage from flooding and landslides. The countys pursuing Financial Aid from state and washington, but that process could take years. Marin county will likely have to cover the repair costs up front. Happening right now, much of the northeast will continue cleaning up from the monster storm and it actually made a surprise turn unlapd, bringing the heaviest snow to upstate new york and northern new england. Milpitas police will soon have brandnew body cameras. According to the mercury news, 84 patrol officers will use those cameras on city streets. Officials say they had cameras already but they malfunctioned and arent very reliable. We dont know when those new cameras are going to be issued. The possible recall for Santa Clara County judge aaron persky has been postponed until next june. Thats according to our media partner, the east bay news group. Persky sparked nationwide outranl last year when he sentenced brock turner to just six months in jail for sexually assaulting an unconscious woman. The main reason for the delay is saving taxpayer money. The cost of a special recall election this november would be 6. 8 million. The cost of including it on the primary ballot next june, just 576,000. And happening today, the uc board of regents is scheduled to discuss the potential impact of proposed federal changes to obamacare on uc medical centers. Earlier this week, uc Berkeleys UniversityHealth Services spokeswoman said students under the Student HealthInsurance Plan would not be affected if obamacare is repealed. Also today, the uc regents are expected to be updated on cals housing situation. Uc berkeley has the smallest percentage of available beds in the entire uc system. San franciscos considering a robot tax. You heard that right. It would apply to every machine that replaces a human worker. This is according to the examiner.
