The east bay times, the daughter of Richard Perkins filed a lautd against the city of oakland yesterday. Police officers shot and killed him during a side show last november. The east bay times also reports from the lawsuit his daughter said perkins had a toy pistol and tried to get rid of it before getting closer. The suit seeks unspecified damage. The naacp is leading a peaceful protest in hayward and in response to the recent killings of black men and Police Officers. Organizers say the protest is meant to unify the community and serve as an outlet to express their feeling. The goal is to march for equality and justice and protest starts at 1 00 this afternoon at the hayward naacp office on b street. There was a moving tribute for fallen officers yesterday, not only for those killed in dallas and baton rouge but also for those who died in the line of duty here in the bay area.
