We have Live Team Coverage from oracle. First Laura Anthony with all the excitement as fans begin to arrive. Laura . Reporter hi, dan. Today we spent part of the day with hype man. It sounds like an easy job, but it hasnt always been, says fri franco finn. Hes been with this team for more than a decade, good time and bad. He he told us he has a plan for tonights game two. Thats a world record, ladies and gentlemen reporter hes known as hype man. But his name is franco finn. And warriors fans inside oracle arena are well aware of what he brings to every home game. Fourth quarter or whenever it hot timeout or when we need people to get juiced up during a particular play, thats where the hype man really comes in. You have to get that energy up, players can feel it. Reporter as spontaneous as it seems, theres a lot of behindthescenes planning to what finn does every game. But the key is always to keep it real. Thats right, dub nation, wave your flags reporter finn became hype man 13 years ago when there was still a mascot named thunder and a team that didnt always perform on the court. It was really tough at first because how do you get someone hyped up with something where the outcome is not looking so great . We learned a lot during those dark years, as we say. Reporter and now its time for finn and the fans to step up again with their defending champs down after game one of the western conference finals. I know that no one is perfect so our team has a down night occasionally. So i think theyll come back. I think well win tonight. I think were going to get back to basics tonight, which is what we do best. And that is win games at home. The players feed off of us and tonight were going to need the fans more than ever. Reporter now, as you heard there, theres no sense of panic from hype man. We havent heard or seen any signs of it here among the fans going into the arena. There is, though, a sense of urgency that dub nation needs to bring home a win tonight. And i can tell you these fans are ready to do their part. Live in oracle, Laura Anthony, abc 7 news. She does a great job getting those fans pumped. Hes great, no question. Lets get to abc 7 news sports director larry biel with what the dubs need to do after a crushing loss in game one, larry. Were trying to forget that and move forward. Sense of urgency. Reporter yeah, certainly a sense of urgency. And one of the mysteries from game one was what happened in the second half. The warriors were up 13 at the break and then completely lost their poise and composure. They started turning the ball over at an absurd rate and were missing shot after shot. They certainly didnt look anything like the team that went 739 in the regular season. Everybody started playing what we call hero ball where each guy wants to be the hero. We saw steph and klay launching shots from way outside, just nutty shots. Draymond green says the warriors lost their poise and they basically abandoned their offense. We went ballistic in a terrible way. We were throwing the ball all over the place. We were taking horrible shots. We were doing onepass shots. We werent ourselves. You have to understand when you play this team, theyre long and athletic and active. You have to be sharp with their execution. Reporter if the warriors felt pressured at the end of game one, think about the pressure heading into game two. Shu . Reporter theyve been down 21 last year twice in the series but never 02. Normally game two is when teams make adjustments especially the road team. Okc didnt feel like they played their best ball either so this will be an interesting matchup tonight. Theyve got to get back to what they did best. They led the league in assists. And of course cut down the turnovers. Steph had seven himself in the second half. They have to clean up their game. Reporter they havent lost two in a row this season. To use draymond greens words, they have to go ballistic in a good way tonight. Live at oracle for mike shumann, im larry biel. Back to you. Guys, thanks very much. We need the war yoorz to be in the same position the sharks are. The momentum is on their side. They cruised to a 40 vijtry over the st. Abc 7 news caught up with sharks forward Patrick Marlo today. He doesnt expect a letdown at home in game three. Weve done a good job just focusing on what we have to do to succeed. I reported last week about a state bill to simplify the expiration dates you see on food packages. Today federal lawmakers introduced their own bill that also would clarify that labeling. Leaders in congress say confusion over date labels cause us to dump perfectly good food into landfills. Its estimated a quarter of all the food we buy. They want to simplify the array of dates you see like best buy, used by and freshest before. The bill would set a limit for a label for freshness and one for safety. A nearly identical bill was introduced at the state assembly. The federal law would set standard for the whole country. Youre watching me there from my story last week where we tasted food that had gone well past the best by dates, all of it proving to be just fine.
