Law ra . Well, hi, dan. These were some difficult hours for these passengers. One woman told us she spent the time as they were flying in circles trying to comfort the passenger next to her. She said she also composed goodbye texts, texts she fortunately never have sent. Finally, safely, after a four hour or deal in the skies boov the central valley. It was clear something was wrong. The plane was bumping and it was going very slow because they were trying to get the landing gear up. We took off and immediately once we got into the air, there was a very, very loud noise as the landing gear was trying to pull up. The pilot came on to tell passengers what was going on. The concern was landing with a full 12,000 pounds of fuel with no landing gear. With the fuel tanks empty, the plane returned to oakland and first made a pass to control tower. The second time arnold, it was time to land. It was tense, very tense. At this point, im a little shaky and would basically rather get a drink. They decided they had enough flying for the day. National transportation officials have been at a fatal plane crash all day trying to figure out what happened. Search teams put on harnesses to see the scene of wreckage. Its really hard to make out whats going on benooet all of those trees. Crews are trying to recover the body of the pilot. A van ran a red light in San Francisco this morning slamming into an officer on his motorcycle. Sky 7 hd was over the scene shortly after it happened. Police say drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor. The car was taken this morning in san jose while an officer was investigating a suspicious van. Police located the car nearby a short time later using the gps tracker inside. Officials say the thief ditched the police car and carjacked this car from a woman on ninth street. Its a silver toyota rav four. Meantime, police say a shooting may be a hate crime. This shooting happened in a parking lot of a club called Club Caliente early monday morning. Police say words were exchanged inside the club. That fight continued outside. They say there is evidence here that a hate crime was committed. Statements from witnesses telling us that comments were made to the victims alleging that they were homosexual. The case will now be handed over to the District Attorney tomorrow. A man accused in a drunk driving rampage made his first appearance in court today. Good ovuming. The suspect said very little in court today but kept looking over to his family and friends. We learned that he was driving on a suspended license at the time of the accident. It is a tragic reminder of the consequences that can come from driving under the influence of alcohol. Three misdemeanors related to hit and run and another misdeknee nor for driving on a suggestion pended liebs. The high amount of bail is indicative of the court taking the matter as serious as it deserves to be taken. Police say blind the wheel that lasted nearly a mile and a half. Its paper and pencil, the way things used to be doeb. Fire dispatch used a 50yearold peg board to track engine companies. The peg board is a little slower, but were able to get all the dispatches out in a timely manner. They routinely have drills and train for this sort of thing.
