If you take a look behind me, you can see some of the volunteers that have assembled here at monty vista high school. This search effort being coordinated by the Community Emergency Response Team of cupertino attempts to track connors phone has failed and several classmates have been interviewed, but no leads have developed. We went over the back side of the dam looking in the water and everywhere and have been calling his name. 17yearold Connor Sullivan was last seen on monday at monty vista high school. Fairfield police are giving their side of the story tonight after criticism from the parents of a boy who officers found safely. 8yearold brock guzman was inside the familys running car when it was stolen from outside his home on monday. The guzman family released this cell phone video and say they will file a complaint against officers who investigated claiming that i treated the family like criminals. Fairfield police tell abc 7 news tonight that the problem began when profs tried to get inside the guzmans home after spotting what appeared to be blood. The mother stood up and pushed past the officer who was standing by her and pushed past the officer and tried to enter the house and at that point were concerned for whats going on in that house and we stopped her from going into the house and thats where the scuffle broke out. The guzmans say they didnt want Police Inside the home because they have a dog that bites. Neighbors rushed to the rescue during an Apartment Fire in martinez that sent a woman to the hospital. Flames damaged a total of four units at the Mission Pines apartment complex. The Early Morning fire was huge by the time it was discovered and 911 was called. This is cell phone video of that fire. This was captured by olin stillwell. You can see how enormous that fire was and neighbors yelled to each other to evacuate. Some stayed behind to help others who couldnt get out quickly. There was a lady that was stuck. I asked other neighbors to come, kick the door open and thats how they got her out. She was frantic, but shes fine. The ambulance took her. She was taken to the Police Officer. A Police Officer was treated on the the scene. It has helped East Palo Alto families for 40 years. Someone broke in yesterday, taking the batteries and leaving the nonprofit without a way to collect donated food. Lyanne mel end ez is live in East Palo Alto with the story. It happened around 2 00 in the morning yesterday. The man apparently hid behind this tree while he was trying to cut through this fence which of course, he did. He walked in and went through the parking lot and then broke into those two vans. This Surveillance Video shows a man walking toward the van. He breaks the window, reaches inside and opens the door. A few minutes later he leaves with a bag of what we now know are car batteries and other goods. That morning the staff at the acumennical Hunger Program in East Palo Alto found a hole in the fence and the two vans vandalized. We found the van open, the window busted out and the hoods were popped open on both vehicles. They are essential to pick up food, deliver furniture and transfer kids. It stops the flow of the program and we use the cargo van to pick up the food donations and like costco, trader joes and sprouts. They were handed out to families in East Palo Alto and menlo park. People here found it hard to believe that anyone would steal from this organization which does so much for the community. It had to be somebody who is desperate or on drugs or Something Like that because, i mean everybody in this Community Knows this place. With the organization like this thats helping the community and our children, its really a shame for somebody to come in here and to just vandalize things like that. And late this afternoon sears offered to donate those two batteries and the organization is now hoping that someone will donate the money to replace those two windows. They found a purse and a locket that police say were work by a man dressed as a woman who robbed the u. S. Bank in santa cruz and thats why they call this the mrs. Doubtfire robbery. The man was booked in the Santa Cruz County jail. The proposed coliseum hosted a public forum today. Floyd gephardt outlined his vision for the project which includes stadiums for the raiders and the as as well as retail and office space and the major issue is money. Gephardt says up to 200 million of public money will be needed to upgrade infrastructure for the project which he says could be one of the best developments of its kind in the country. A controversial bill requiring all children in california to be vaccinated advanced in the state legislature today. Some students at Santa Clara University decided that shorter showers would help. Another university is trying to help people save water a different way. Abc 7 News Reporter david louie has more from uc santa cruz with this tail tale of two campuses. Some students admit they take five to tenminute showers and as part of earth day, students were asked to cut their showers by 60 seconds left. They cast aside modesty to demonstrate a watersaving navy shower. Students were asked to sign a pledge banner. Once they sign it they get to take home a wristband they could be wearing in the shower and it will prompt them to remember, take the 60 secondses less off your shower. The shower demonstration was a good way to bring attention to the drought to students who dont get a monthly bill and monitor their usage and its all about awareness and knowing how long youre showering and its raising awareness to people. Technicians are installing devices that will give students and faculty their water use on a daily basis delivered right to their smartphone and computer screen. It represents a 48,000 investment on the water use cutback. The device sends usage data by sell signals before the data was compiled monthly. By providing information to the students not on just their own dorms usage and i think it will create a competitive environment. The santa cruz system can detect potential leaks. Were using the systems on the faculty housing and our science labs, too because theyre heavy water user, too and they can be made on faculty homes and science labs that can impact how much water is used on the system. San francisco is set to roll out 60 shiny new muni busses like this, when the allelectric busses go into service next week passengers will notice the redesigned interior. The big innovation is the hood. The busses can be unhooked from overhead wires and travel on Battery Power for seven miles. Muni expects to replace its entire speet with busses over the next five years . They look good. A bill that would extend protection to widows fighting per closure faces an uncertain future. Why banks wont talk to the widows about their mortgage. Theyre not on the original paperwork. I first told you about widow foreclosures last year and they often wont talk to people like deion and lisa booker of american canyon. They inherited their home and went on the original mortgage. Their story is not unusual. The bill that would extend protection to widows could be killed by the state assemblys Banking Committee on monday. An accident that left one cyclist paralyzed is blamed on a quickrelease lever that can interfere with disk brakes. The bikes were made between 2 thousand thousand and 2015 in china and taiwan. The lever will be replaced for free for those people who bring their bikes in and cyclists will receive a 20 coupon for accessories. A new Mileage Plus Program designed to encourage Alaska Airline passengers who print their own baggage tags at home is available in the bay area only at Oakland International airport. At least for now. The idea for alaska miles planned customers to print their own tags and attach them to their own luggage. Passengers can then take the luggage to express dropoff points at the airport and when they do that they receive 1,000 bonus miles. The program is not yet available at San Francisco international or down in san jose, but alaskas website says the service will be at those airports soon. Numerous showers and thunderstorms and high elevation snow showing up there and a few drops on the lens from our lake tahoe camera as youll notice a very dark sky and 59 in San Francisco francisco. 62 in oakland and 65 in san jose and Half Moon Bay 55 degrees and the tower camera showing you half and half as far as the sky blue and some clouds there. 69 in santa rosa, looking at a temperature of 53 and fairfield, livermore, beautiful skyline from the east bay hills camera and well hang out to the clouds on various levels for the next few hours and mostly sunny tomorrow and clouds will be on the increase friday and heres whats really exciting, trending wetter early saturday and there were hints of that last night and now it looks like its going to materialize.
