Two people escaped a burning building in napa, tonight investigators are trying to figure out how that fire started. Two Apartment Units were destroyed in the fire on brown street. One firefighter was injured, fire Officials Say it looked like part of the building was under construction. A devastating fire in San Franciscos Mission District last week has claimed another life. Abc 7 news, 13yearold amalshiebi died last night at San Francisco general hospital. She was a member of a family of five who lived at an apartment on 24th and tree streets when it caught fire. She had been in a coma since that fire. Her father died over the weekend from his injuries caused by the fire. Three surviving members of the family have been treated and released from the hospital. In the past six months there have been three massive fires in San Franciscos Mission District. Two of them deadly as weve been telling you, and the fires have raised a lot of questions. Supervisor campo says hes been attending a lot of Community Meetings about this fires and everyone is asking why. Quite frankly, you know theres a lot of suspicion on the part of some folks . Arson, is there any kind of malfeasance. San francisco supervisor is talking about the disturbing pattern of fires that has stunned his Mission District constituents. In september, flames engulfed a three Story Building at 23rd and mission in january an inferno at 22nd and mission killed a man and left more than 50 residents homeless. Earlier this month another fatal fire at 24th and treat. Supervisor campos held a hearing today to look for answers. Joanne hayes white and her experts say the fires are all still under investigation. But there is a possible answer to the one at 22nd and mission. We did find evidence of electrical cause four that fire. While the investigations continue, a new concentrated effort has been launched by the department of Building Inspections to examine 126 multifamily buildings along a 6 1 2 mile stretch of mission street. Every year according to the Humane Society international, some 2 million dogs are killed in south korea. There are hundreds of dog meat farms raising thousands of canines, this is the second time the Humane Society has convinced a korean dog meat farmer to quit, to switch to raising to growing produce, now in this operation, they rescued 57 dogs from one farm. They hope this will be a new beginning. Their eyes are down cast, most seem terrified, uncertain of where they are. This one is afraid to get out. Maybe he thinks hes going to the market for slaughter, some are puppies like this cute little one. Many are bigger almost all are a type of korean mastiv mix. The last 15 of the 57 rescue dogs arrives at the San Francisco spca today after a long 11 hour flight from seoul. Some of these dogs as you see are very friendly most of them are completely docile. None of the dogs appears to be suffering from major injuries. Were just seeing certain nutritional issues and trying to get them into a better food source. Other than that, theyre in pretty good condition. The dogs are destined for a market like this one, where people buy meat and produce dog meat is considered to be healthy, especially during the summer. Theyre killed by electrocution beaten to death or hanged. Its primarily the older population that consumes dog meat. The conditions on the farm are really deplorable. They never clean the cages, dogs live in darkness very dark small cages, no heating. The farmer agreed to shut down his dog farm.
