Last night hundreds gathered for a service to honor those victims and represents the lives lost. Tremendous pride ace look around and know we are all part of a Wonderful Team as we celebrate the great nation and the courage ultimately of those individuals. And today the names of the 40 victims will be read allowed at a wreathlaying ceremony at the National Memorial. At the pentagon this morning a large American Flag was unfold to remember those lost their lives there. There will be a memorial where president obama is expected to speak. He will be joined by the defense secretary, ash carter. The president will also honor the victims by holding a moment of silence in a private ceremony this morning at the white house this morning in San Francisco the Fire Department will hold a moment. Silence. The department has done this on september 11th every year since the attacks. Its a citywide ceremony honoring the men and women who died that day. On this 15th anniversary they will also unavailable a piece of rubber from one of the World Trade Center towers. The ceremony starts at 6 45 this morning at the San Francisco Public Safety building on 3rd street. Everyone is welcome to attend. Also here in the bay area, several other memorials. The uss in almeda will hold a moment of silence and visitor can make cards for local first responders. That starts at 9 45 this morning. And in the south bay the san jose Fire Department will commemorate the anniversary with a patriot day ceremony. A memorial mass and procession starts at 11 00 at the cathedral basilica. Developing news. The chp is look for a driver that they say hit and killed a motorist in oakland. It happened near 580 and the 127th street on ramp. When the chp arrived they found a man in the far right lane with his motorcycle off to the shoulder. Officers said the driver may have made an unsafe lane change, running into the back of the motorcycle. The cchp said the victim may have been affiliated with a motorcycle club. All indications at the time he was riding the witnesses we had said he was traveling by himself. Officers do not have a description of the driver or the car, just the suspect car. It was a dark van. Another hitandrun crash, this time in san jose. Firefighters say one car tboned another, leaving three people trapped inside. It happened at 1. At the intersection of alyn rock and Pleasant Ridge avenue. The those three victims have been taken to the hospital with major injuries. San jose police are looking for the driver that hit the other car. We are learning more with a driver who was arrested after a view be lent san ramon crash that left a young boy dead on friday night. My family is going everything they can given their circumstances, but unfortunately she slammed into the back of the vehicle the children were all properly buckled, but elijah took the brunt of many impact and had to be airlifted to Childrens Hospital in oakland. Early on an 11yearold eric junior arrived in an ambulance, but they are okay. Malihan had minor injuries. And all they want to hear from her is aim sorry. I cant have my son back but she should feel remorse about what she did. We approached malihans home for comment but the people inside did not answer the door. They said she did not have prior dui convictions and she had a valid drivers license. Abc news. Protesters vandergulik lays add busy bank in oakland saturday afternoon. Abc7 news was at the bank of america near lake merritt where messengers covered the windows and atms all around the building. They painted over the Security Camera on one atm. There was enough damage the bank had to shut it down. Police arrested at least one person. Protesters want to stop prison labor, and the corporations they say are profiting from it. To be honest, if this happened during the day and i was trying to get money from the bank, i wouldnt feel safe at all. With this kind of vandalism, i havent seen it before. He estimates the damage to be at least 2,000. The atm company will be back out later this morning to clean up the mess and replace parts of that machine. But when she was a sophomore in santa clara, she decided to try a pageant instead, hoping to win a college scholarship. I had no idea really what i was doing. We had to do thattent and i didnt know how to choreograph the talent but i picked up something. I picked up my cheerleading uniform. We brought in all our family to watch jessa compete. And low and behold, she won the title. She was proud to see her named the most outstanding teen and later californias most outstanding teen. But it was a big change. We are a sports family. We wear football jerseys. So its a lot different. A lot more sparkle. As a senior in high school she tried a its ground. She tried out to be a 49ers cheerleader. Something she dreamed about with when she was little. And she made it. She got to experience a dream that not a lot of people get to experience. She was on the quad for four years while she went to college at san jose state. Then she went back to the pageant world and started winning again. Shes been miss santa clara, miss mission city, and nice north day. In july she won miss california, bringing her scholarship total to more than 35,000. I paid for college 1 hunters on my own, and with the help of this program im proud to say im debt free off of any loans. Next stop, miss america. Shes promoting healthy lifestyles. One for the pentagon and one for flight 93 that crashed in shanksville, pennsylvania. Well hear the bell of hope. The chapel of st. Pauls. It served as a sanctuary for the people in the immediate aftermath hard to believe its 15 years since these events took place. Im join bid commissioner ray kelly, former commissioner of the new York City Police department. Thank you for joining us. You were commissioner in 1993 when the World Trade Center was first hit and again in 2002 as new york recovered from those attacks. That tragic day hit so many in your department so hard. Absolutely. It still has jolting effects in the department. 343 firefighters, 37 port Authority Police officers. 23 new York City Police officers lost their lives. And the department respond in a very robust way to address the challenges in 2002 that faced the bloomberg administration. We devoted over 1,000 Police Officers to counterterrorism. We deployed individuals overseas. For new york city. And, thank god, no major attack has happened. Not only in new york city but in the country with the exception of the lone wolf attacks in orlando and in san bernardino. That is a now, 15 years later. Its so much harder. You are right, much more difficult. They develop a certain trained craft to keep their actions secret. Web are going to face this type of threat for a long time to come, unfortunately. I think the big, complex plans such as 9 11 is something that we are much safer against, guard be against. The Intelligence Community is very much focused on the issue. Local police are engaged in the fight. We are monitoring the communications of the terrorists much more effective. And we are reducing their footprint in the middle east. All of these things makes it much more difficult to put a complex plan in place. This has been a special report. My, carolyn, good morning, everyone. You will notice it will be much cooler this afternoon. Live doppler 7 showing us the cloud cover along the coast and into parts of the bay. And over into San Francisco. Clearing in san jose. Right now we have the fog and low clouds. Temperatures in the mid50s to near 60. By 7 00 this morning, the next or two we could see some coastal drizzle develop. Temperatures still mainly in the 50s. Mostly cloud by by 9 00. We are starting to climb to 60 in the bay inland areas. Becoming sunny by lunchtime. But notice temperatures only in the 60s for inland and around the bay. The highs today, cooler compared to yesterday. Ill have the details coming up. Carolyn.
