reporter: in just a few hours at 9 a.m. this claims office will open at nevin community center in richmond. good guess there will be long lines the demand for compensation has been high. there have been at least 1600 calls made to the chevron hotline. thousands more people have lined up to see a personal injury attorney in richmond. their complaints include trouble breathing, chest and heart pain, eye irritation. and there are those who complain of property damage saying they lost most notably crops. we talked with a professor who says he's not surprised by this >> people who feel as if they should be compensated for the burden that they've been bearing for as long as they've lived there are seeing the event monday as an opportunity to get that compensation. >> reporter: many management district told us air samples taken showed toxic air contaminants below levels considered safe. now the district says in one of the eight samples taken throughout richmond, levels of the toxic compound acrolein were above the federal standard. the district says the fire generated smoke that contained particulate matter is likely the course of health complaints. oakland police investigating a shooting that left one dead and one injured. it happened on san pablo near 19th street. two people were shot around 12:30, both were driven to the hospital by other people, one died at the hospital. no word from police on details of the shooting or a motive. oakland police still looking for a man accused of kidnapping his own two-month-old child and her mother. 19-year-old marcus hernandez is accused of taking the two at gunpoint wednesday night from the oakland home they shared with friends. 17-year-old angelica lopez and the two-month-old were found safe yesterday in oakland. a $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of hernandez. >> police are searching for three robbers involved in robbing a coin store in sunnyvale. investigators say this woman knocked on the door to gain entrance to max coins and collectibles. she then let two masked men in. the robbers tied up an employee and stole an unknown amount of gold and jewelry this
