In city hall, students huddled in the front area. They had to be evacuated after somebody phoned in a bomb threat this morning. San Francisco Police swept the building on fell street. They didnt find anything threatening, but School Officials closed the campus the rest of the day. It was the target of another bomb threat last week. A richmond man just working in his own garage was robbed and then shot last night. It happened around 10 30 on the 3900 block of gately avenue. Police say the man was shot once in his shoulder. They are now looking for two suspects who were wearing masks. The garage door was open when they approached and robbed him. After giving up the possessions he chased the gun men who turned and fired. Police say you should never do that. There is nothing theyre going to take off you thats worth risking your life. Richmond detectives believe it was a crime of opportunity and they have few leads. They are asking anyone who may have seen something or have a Security Camera in the area to please call them. Pg e has now been named as a defendant in a growing civil lawsuit related to that ghost ship fire. It killed 36 people in oakland last december. These new allegations accuse pg e of negligence. Abc7 News Reporter Laura Anthony live at the ghost ship with the story. Laura . Reporter larry, there have been several lawsuits filed by families of the victims in recent months. This new lawsuit seeks to combine those into one master lawsuit. There are new allegations and one new high profile defendant. We have filed against Pacific Gas Electric company, pg e. Reporter pg e is now the latest defendant in a lawsuit filed by 18 families who lost loved ones in the ghost ship fire last december. For their negligence in supplying power to this building, for their failure to make it safe. Reporter pg e is included in the new master lawsuit filed against the owner of the building as well as the ghost ship manager derek among others. Pg e crews installed smart meters inside the building and should have noticed the dangerous conditions, including a maze of extension cords that investigators believe caused the fire. In a written response, a pg e spokesperson told abc7 news, we have reviewed our records and over the last ten plus years we have no reports of electric theft or any other anomalies from this location or the adjacent premises. We are fully cooperating with authorities as they investigate this tragic event. We are all beyond heartbroken. Reporter lisa lost her only child, 22yearold cash in the fire. Kids want to be able to express themselves and play their music and learn and grow and we need those spaces. But people shouldnt have to die for them. Reporter the city of oakland and Alameda County are not named in the lawsuit, but the plaintiffs attorneys plan to add them once the civil claims process runs its course. In oakland, Laura Anthony, abc7 news. And newly released video shows the operator of the ghost ship telling Oakland Police about the building more than two years before it burned. The video is from an officers body cam. It was obtained by our Media Partners at the bay area news group. The officer was investigating a couch fire outside the building in 2014. Derek almina appears to tell the officer he did not live there. And then this is where you work right here, right . Yeah, i work here. A lawyer representing three families of the fire say the video shows how irresponsible and deceptive almina is. A van parked on the side of railroad avenue on third street was torched overnight. No one was hurt, but the van was destroyed. This latest fire comes comes after an arrest this weekend after a string of car fires in the east bay. Authorities havent said if this latest fire is connected. Five people have been hospitalized with a rare form of botch liz many. This happened after they ate food from the valley oak food and fuel gas station at walnut grove in sacramento county. Health officials believe nacho cheese is the likely source of the outbreak. So, anybody who ate food there between april 23rd and may 5th, should contact their doctor immediately if they have any symptoms and those symptoms would include trouble breathing, blurry vision, slurred speech, perhaps droopy eyelids. Traffic will be heavy and demand for parking will be very high. That makes Public Transit an attractive alternative and special arrangements have been made for Public Transit for Late Night Service after the concert. Its not as though levi stadium hasnt hosted a super bowl. But the u2 concerts is on a wednesday evening with fans making their way here at the same time as the afternoon commute. Just like any other event, Santa Clara Police will have extra traffic patrol officers. But the pressure will be on Public Transit. Vta light rail system and cal train are expected to carry 5 to 6,000 concert goers or 50 of the event. We are asking personnel to work more hours but we were dont usually have 5,000 people wait fogger our service at 10 00 in the evening. Reporter previous u2 concerts in oakland in 2011 and 2015 created traffic jams and caused some fans to arrive late or miss the show entirely. Jessica from abc7 mornings has the alarming story. More than 400,000 women get Breast Implants every year. Now a widely shared story in the New York Times is raising major health concerns. Stacey boon was diagnosed with cancer in 2015, but she never suspected her Breast Implants were to blame. I thought i had the flu. I was having hot flashes, severe sweating. Under my armpit there were not only one, but four nodules lymph nodes. Reporter shes not alone. The fda says in the last six years there have been 359 reports of possible Breast Implant associated cancer, including nine deaths. There may be something about the texture of the implant inducing some inflammation causing the cancer, but its currently not well understood why it happens. Reporter its a very rare and potentially deadly form of cancer that affects cells in the immune system found around the Breast Implant. Now, this type of cancer has been more associated with this type of textured or gummy bear implants versus the smooth kind. You also want to ask will it be under the muscle, most are, and if youre getting silicone will you need some kind of imaging followup. I had my implants done in the early 90s and i was never told that i needed to go back and have them checked every so many years. Reporter there is good news for stacy. After chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant she is now in remission and next month will be two years cancer free. The fda doesnt have exact guidelines for how often you should get your implants checked. They recommend talking to your doctor for an individualized monitoring plan.
