Around noon today, chp Officials Say a cement truck overturned from a blown tire. The truck struck another vehicle and then it landed on its side. Cement and water spilled onto 880. Crews had to block lanes 1, 2 and 3. Well, those lanes are back open, but there is still a little built of a traffic headache for folks going northbound on 880 going around the truck at this time. So, right now theyre just in the process of towing the truck away from the scene. Cal trans has cleaned up the mess and chp says much of the traffic youre seeing right now are just curious onlookers and residual back up from earlier today. Authorities tell us they were transferring formaldehyde from one container to another and accidentally mixed it with methanol. That would have created a fire hazard. Thankfully no one was injured. Crews are in the building and checking air quality. Meanwhile in berkeley a car crash damage a gas line. Happened just before 1 00 on ash by avenue and san pablo. Traffic was shut down two blocks in each direction of those two streets. Police evacuated residents who lived in that immediate area while pg e crews are still on the scene. Police report the gas leak has been secured and the roads are now back open. A 26yearold accused of trying to kidnap and rape a 13yearold girl in San Francisco pleaded not guilty today. Reporter his Attorney Says he is scared and the seriousness of the charges he is facing is not lost on him and his family. Investigators took boxes of evidence from the 26yearolds home afrz after he was a est ared in march. This is video when he was in court last week. You can see him there. Police say that he had pushed a 13yearold girl into his car at tara val and far side avenue. Witnesses rescued the girl when they heard her screams. He is being held as you said, on no bail. We recognized that this was a very scary incident for this young woman and her family. And, so, there is not going to be a request for him to be released from custody at any time in the near future. So, at this point there is no Additional Information as to any other victims, but we are working with our Law Enforcement partners to determine whether there is anything additional that needs to be looked into. She was arrested in her familys home in january. And shes been held at santa rita jail in dublin ever since. She pleaded charges not guilty in last years Pulse Night Club massacre. Well, expected rain on friday has forced the cancellation of oaklands monthly fish friday festival. The art food and Music Festival is normally held on the first friday of every month. The next one is scheduled for may 5th. If you live in marin county you may have seen the smoke and fire today. But these were several controlled burns conducted by the marin municipal water district. Sky 7 was overhead as the district burned brush and fallen trees near tem pea lake in an effort to keep the environment safe from brush fires in the future. You can see a man who was riding by on an atv. You can see how small he looks in comparison to the big fire there. The Marin County Fire Department monitored these burns. And a scare after somebody brought three hand grenades or smoke grenades to the police department. The building was evacuated around 9 30 after the grenades were brought to the front counter. They were found in a relatives home and were brought in for disposal. Police evacuated the building as a precaution. They called in a bomb squad to secure the grenades and also warned citizens never transport items that may look like explosives. It was so scary. Reporter she captured a shoot out between one of her neighbors and napa police while looking through the window of her home with a cell phone. The victim was well known by his neighbors. His name is steve ferry. Reporter but what caused him to snap and trying to shoot officers who surrounded his home . Napa police say he fired at them from his car while driving off. They gave chase, they fired back. He hit the tree and one witness told us they fired again. From what i saw he looked like he was injured, from what i saw. Reporter was he being aggressive to the officers . No, he looked drowsy like he was just moving around in the car. And thats when they opened fire again on him. Thats all i seen. In shooting ferry to death, napa police left multiple bullet holes in neighboring homes half a block from the nearby school. Those homeowners declined to be interviewed today.
