Grandmother the morning of march 7 when a ford fusion jumped the curb and struck the boy, pinning the younger one against a pole. The driver, 29yearold Daniel Morris, jumped from the car and ran away. A large manhunt that day did not locate him, but this morning, officers arrested morris. Hes now in jail and while the public was a huge help, the chp says morris friends and associates were not. Friends or associates of mr. Morris, who possibly had information that they may have withheld, that could be a future avenue that investigators will take as far as potential charges down the road. Reporter besides felony hit and run with great bodily injured, hell be charged with car theft. The fusion was one of five cars stolen from this ford dealership just hours before the crash. Its a crime caught on surveillance video. Chp still is looking for the other suspects in those car thefts. Janet . Reporter ama, its a complicated case. The 2yearold died while being cared for by her father who recently got out of jail and was struggling with drug problems. The mercury news said that child and her father lived here on glenn bury way at a home for recovering adigs. Police got a call about an unresponsive 2yearold on february 8. No one was arrested and the death is currently not being investigated as a homicide. However, the county is reviewing the case, waiting on the medical examines report. An autopsy has been performed, but the results could take up to six months. I think the most important thing that we can do is make sure we carefully and thoroughly investigate what happened so that we understand what the implications of it were, where we could have done a better job. Its our responsibility to do that. Reporter a social Services Manager tells me the priority is to reunite children with the parents. Regardless, no child would be placed with an adult or in a home if thats considered unsafe. Since may of 2010, there have been no deaths in Santa Clara CountyFoster Care Services due to abuse. So i looked out my front door and i saw a guy limping up the street. So far police have not released a description of the shooter. Reporter this woman did not want us to show her case, because she continued to have her identity stolen after she became a victim. Nobody knew this was happening. Reporter she says thousands of dollars from her account stolen just weeks before the biggest day of her life. She says she had no idea a bank teller had stolen her identity along with 28 other customers until she received this letter from her bank. They told her, a former employee may have accessed your account information without authorization and gave it to someone outside of chase. Chase tells gma as soon as we discovered this, we called the authorities, fired the emmoyee and reimbursed the customers. Were sorry and angry this happened. But vance says not all banks fight and report these crimes. Do you think the banks need to be doing more . Some banks do. A hit and run that severely injured a little boy. The man who police say ran over that 6yearold boy with a stolen car is in jail. Daniel morris was picked up in hayward.
