A high powered sony producer is apologizing for the remarks he made in leaked emails. Its the center of the latest embarrassment from from the sony hacking scandal. He describe Ed Angelina Jolie aa spoiled brat. Today he said the statements were thoughtless and insensitive. Michael finney is here answering questions from facebook and twitter. The first from david who emailed and asked, i have a leak in my roof and the rain is now flooding my closet. Will my Homeowners Insurance cover it . It depends what caused the leak. What it all comes down to. If you had a hole there already and it started raining the Insurance Company isnt going to pay for that. But if you had a roof that was there, it was fine, a couple of shingles blew off because of the wind and now rain, then they will pay for it. The basic rule of thumb for water damage is if the water rises your Homeowners Insurance isnt going to pay for it. If it the water comes down, then they will. Jen h. Asks, a tree my house. Who do i call . Thats trickier than you think. If the tree was on your property and fell onto your house, you want to call your Insurance Company. Its clearly its going to come from them. The money to fix it. And they will pay for that. The problem is if a tree falls on your house, an Insurance Company will often increase your rates, even if its not your tree. Even if you dont have any other trees on your property. Just calling them up and telling them about it, you can have a rate increase. Thats why if its your neighbors try, try to go through their Insurance Company. Dont tell your Insurance Company about it. You have a better chance of not having your rates go up. Sam h. Asked me in email. My gutters were clogged and overflowing rain caused a leak. Will it be covered . A united policyholder about this very issue. They say strict. If you havent cleared ourt the gutters, they may try to blame you. If the gutters were not maintained, they blame you. If they blame you, you pay. And your rates go up. So be very careful and argue, argue, argue. Good advice. Thats what its all about. Or call me. Well argue for you. Youre very good at it. Thank you, michael. Still ahead, the science of the big waves. The waves are coming ashore, and its not just due to the wind. Some people take it as a sightseeing adventure. Ill explain, coming up. Im dan ashley. But what about those waves . We sent drew the Science Behind the spectacle. Drew . Yeah, the waves are certainly powerful here. Were live on the pier, and theres a sign that is taped to the railing that says caution, waves may break over seawall, and its there for a reason. Over the past hour or so, these waves have splashed up and over onto the sidewalk, and its not just the wind. When you get a strong storm, an area of low pressure, what actually happens, less force is exerted on the ocean as the storm moves across. So the sea level actually rises, combine that with winds gusting up to 50 Miles Per Hour, and youre going to get waves up to 15, even 20 feet high. But for some who are walking along the pier, this is actually a sightseeing adventure. I love it. I love it. Im just a little bummed out. The pier is not open. I like to go out on the pier. When they had the el nino back in the 90s. I used to go back with the waves crashing over the pier. It was not for everybody. It was fun for me. And yeah, certainly its not for everybody. The rain is still coming down. The seas are still churning at this hour. We still have a high seas advisory in effect. The waves right now are 50 feet. Now some good news here at pacifica. Which is why urban and small stream flood advisory has been extended for the north bay until 6 45 p. M. Many parts of the bay area under that advisory. Coastal flooding continues until 7 00 with the creeks continuing to rise. We may
