A 49yearold has been arrested on suspicion of killing another man with a solid steel bar used to lift weights. The incident happened wednesday night at bally total fitness. Witnesses say after the attack, he dropped the bar and walked out of the gym. He was arrested yesterday by police and a Homeland Security agent and charged with murder. Coworkers of the victim are burning a candle for him at this market on linden and aspen avenues. He is a butcher who worked there for 16 years. How could someone do that to him . I mean, he never, never harmed anybody. Police have not said whether the victim and the suspect knew each other or why Homeland Security was involved in the arrest. Sky 7 hd shows us where the search is on for a possible bomb on the campus of Andrew Hill High School in san jose. The School District says Police Received a 911 call from a quote, strange man asking for ransom around 1 30 this afternoon. Police kept students and staff inside buildings for a short time. Students can now be picked up at Sylvandale Middle School just a few blocks away. Some nearby streets are also closed. The bomb squad is now on the scene and we will keep monitoring the situation. This is how the king fire looks from space, a plume of smoke extending hundreds of miles to the northeast from this blaze that now covers 119 square miles, an area double the size of San Francisco. Up close, it is furious, hungry and only 10 contained, but at least authorities believe they know who started it. He was taken into custody ultimately [ inaudible ]. Today, 37yearold Wayne Alan Huntsman appeared in court entering a plea of not guilty. He does have a prior criminal record. If convicted in this case, he could serve ten years to life for this fire that is costing 5 million a day to fight. Begin with the cost of retardant. Cal fire set a record yesterday, dropping 275,000 gallons of the stuff. Today, crews hope to use their biggest weapon yet, this dc10 air tanker. But thick smoke has been a hindrance. One month after turning over the citys billion dollar garbage contract to California Waste Solutions, oakland officials now say the company will share the contract with Waste Management. Reporter it was one of the popular phrases to come out of the Free Speech Movement. Dont trust anybody over 30. Reporter this is a play that relives the events that transpired in the fall of 1964 at cal. The performances take place around the police car which back then became the platform for speakers like mario savio. I was friends with mario during that period but he married somebody else first. Im his second wife. Reporter lynn decided it was time to bring the legacy of the Free Speech Movement to the stage. She also performs in the production this saturday and sunday at Brava Theater Center in San Franciscos mission district. Hollander says she wants people to know how the movement inspired students around the nation. To oppose the war in vietnam and to begin the Womens Movement and the antiapartheid struggles. Reporter savio is played by Brady Morales and the music is performed by his son, daniel. You look like him. I get told that a lot. Reporter he was almost 16 when his father died. Even though he is no longer with us, mario savio often thought about this moment and how people would react to the Free Speech Movement 50 years later. He had this idea that that would be long enough to take some sort of perspective. I think he would be a little sad about the way things have gone but there are reasons to hope, too. A story trending on social media today, a pennsylvania family is going the extra mile to comfort a dying woman in her final days. Trisha summers has terminal liver cancer. Shes a single mom, sole provider for her 8yearold son wesley. She didnt have anyone who could take wesley. Her parents died years ago. One day, the answer walked into her hospital room. She came in and i just felt this overwhelming feeling of comfort. It was strange. I never had that feeling before. And i was just like shes going to take care of me. Shes the one. The one is registered nurse trisha seaman. She cared for summers off and on for years and was her favorite nurse. Trisha summers knew the woman who shared her first name was the one to take care of wesley after she died. Trisha seaman said her jaw dropped to the floor but she agreed to do it. God has a plan for our lives. Sometimes we think we know what that plan is and we really dont. Seaman and her husband not only agreed to take care of wesley, but trisha, too. They invited both to move in with them right away to make the adjustment easier and to give wesley four new brothers and sisters to help him through this difficult time. That is truly amazing. A danville woman is waging a campaign to save a colony of grou squirrels. Their tunnels are causing damage in the neighborhood. They are in jeopardy of being exterminated. Its on all of us to change the culture. Commissioner Roger Goodell today signaled a major shift in policy over how it handled Domestic Abuse cases. Goodell says rules governing personnel conduct will change. All players and staff will undergo education and training about how to prevent abuse. The nfl will partner with the national Sexual ViolenceResource Center and the national Domestic Violence hot line which saw an 84 spike in phone calls last week during all of this.
