Reggie, the california Highway Patrol is investigating which car veered into the opposite lane causing the crash and they are not ruling out drugs or alcohol as a contributing factor. They have yet to identify the victims. We know little about one of the survivors from the south bay. Five people were riding in the charred mercedesbenz suv. They say it caught fire after crash. The driver and three pass injuries did not survive. They have yet to be identified. But yang survived this crash and was you are ared to a hospital in modesto. She lives in saratoga. I visited her familys home this afternoon. Her neighbors say they know her best as janice. She is very sweet and seemed like the organizer of the family. Doug and Shawna Larson say her family is always very friendly. When i am pulling out in the morning to go to work whoever it is will smile and waive at you. He was in a news story a few years ago when he returned from his second tour in afghanistan. Most are at the hospital. Su is in stable condition and are hoping for the best. I am hoping we dont foe all of the facts and that it wasnt their whole family. It makes me feel sick. The driver of the other vehicle died at the scene. Hes been identified as 22yearold mar cos martinez Marcos Martinez from said. Merced. His passenger has been rushed to the hospital and no word on her condition. Just take a look at this massive flames and billowing smoke coming out of the luxury car there. The burning 1970s era ferrari appeared to drive itself away from a gas station and into morello avenue. The driver was at the gas pump filling up the car when the fire sparked. He explained what happened next. As i was putting the nozzle back i saw a spark and when i turned to look i realized the flames were erupting from above the engine. I tried to put it out and thought i had success and it flickered on again. I had it in gear, but the car got hot enough it must have popped something in place and it ended up rolling into the street. If the ferrari hadnt rolled into the street on its own it could have caused a massive explosion at the gas station. Fellow gliders saw the woman as she was swept off her feet. At that point she popped up about 10, 15, 20 feet in the sky.
