Nice and clear and doppler reflects that. The cloud cover, precip and snow in the pacific northwest. One last weak weather system descending south throughout the day today but the santa cruz in the 40s right now going for a high today of just 50. Its going to be chilly. 50 in the city now. 47 in san jose and from our east bay hills camera, you can see how nice and clear it is. Nevada and napa have rebounded nicely since the morning low of 30 in santa rosa. Its cooler than it was for most of you since yesterday. Your forecast today as you look at the airport there, nice and sunny for the first half of the day. Numbers in the 50s by noontime and increasing clouds, showers arrive. First, well track them throughout the rest of the bay area coming up in a few minutes and talk about a springlike forecast in the extended outlook. Thank you, lisa. Breaking news out of the south bay this morning. San jose police are investigating a deadly stabbing at a sports bar. It happened just after midnight last night at a cantina. Police say a man was stabbed and taken to a hospital where he died. According to the media partner the mercury news the victim was an employee at the sports bar. Police have not identified or arrested any suspects. New this morning, residents in the south bay may have been shaken awake by an earthquake. A 3. 7 just before 7 00 this morning. Light shaking was felt in the area as far north as morgan hill and further down to salinas. No damage has been reported. In san jose clearing homes and allowing more people to return. The city says about 1300 homes remained restricted. In the Williams Street park neighborhood, three homes have been red tagged because of structural damage. They will need to be fixed or rebuilt. San joses mayor says hell hold a Public Meeting to discuss the citys response admitting a clear failure led to the flooding and delay in evacuations. Were very focused on recovery this weekend. Next week, were going to be turning to focus on how we fix this going forward. Volunteers have helped clear streets and homes but there is a lot more work that needs to be done. Abc 7 News ReporterSergio Quintana has more on the damage that remains. Reporter this is the first day many residents in the rock springs neighborhood were able to get into their homes since the flood. A big mess, a smelly mess. Reporter he and his neighbors are shocked at the destruction left by the coyote creek neighbors and confused what to do now. They have been told to pull out water damaged items from inside the homes. [speaking Foreign Language]. Reporter but he asks what happened to the chemicals they have been warned about that were in the flood waters and his neighbors are wondering who is going to help pay for everything they have lost. My neighbors cars are messed up and they cant do it anymore. The city is talking about coming tomorrow to pull them out. I think we should have had some kind of warning, you know, a day before just to let people know you got to get your stuff, you got to get your family, get out of the house. Reporter some residents are lucky they live on the second floor. Phams apartment escaped the flood but he cant come back hole. We dont know what we going to come back here until the city allow us to turn on electrical or water, gas or whatever. Reporter these residents are still trying to absorb the scale of this disaster as a few begin to clean up, its clear they may not be able to move back into their homes any time soon. Well, there are ways you can help the flood victims. The red cross made it rather easy. Text the words red cross to 90999 to make a 10 donation on the phone bill. The red cross needs volunteers to find out how you can help, go to the abc news app. A sonoma woman is recovering after spending friday night trapped inside her car after it plunged into austin creek. Shes alive thanks to a newly trained Water Rescue Team and her own survival instinct. Abc 7 News ReporterLonnie Rivera has more on the heroic rescue effort. Construction rocks rolled over once and came, landed on its wheels in the creek and was carried down a creek approximately 20 feet to where it become lodged on a rock. Reporter the Fire Departments water rescuers responded to this emergency. A subaru stuck in austin creek inside this car a 67yearold woman managed to stay above water in the backseat with her dog for eight hours. Shes relieved and very calm. Reporter gabe and corey are part of a newly trained water rescue teal. They used this equipment for the first time in a reallife situation. We got the life jacket on and if we head to the far side of the creek, there is less current and it got shallower and shallower. Reporter the car landed on its wheels and a rock kept it from moving. Those circumstances worked in the drivers favor, plus, emergency Officials Say the victim handled it well by remaining calm. She didnt get out of the vehicle, which was a major play because the water is moving pretty quick, probably would have swept her away. Reporter the woman was suffering from hypothermia and Russian River paramedics transported her to the hospital in this ambulance. We just got done with the training and this happened. Just meant to happen. Awesome feeling, definitely. Makes her feel good. Were all volunteers. We do this to help our communities. Across the country, lawmakers are having conversations with the people they represent. Abc 7 news was in Half Moon Bay as congresswoman jackie spear held a town hall yesterday. More than 1400 people signed up to attend. Many of them wanted her to know they are concerned about what will happen to their Health Insurance under President Trumps administration. People throughout the country are speaking up about how the Affordable Care act saved their lives so its not going away. It can be improved, well work on ill prmproving it and resist efforts to undermine it. This was the democratic congresswomans sixth town hall since President Trumps election. In the north bay, more than 2,000 people packed into an auditorium to ask questions and share concerns about the future of their health care. Democratic representative Mike Thompson and state senator mike mcgwire hosted the event. Congressman Thompson Says hell take the stories he heard back to washington. They say its nothing like this massive demonstration seen last year when donald trump was running for president. New details about the mayhem in new orleans. A pickup truck plowed into a crowd of spectators at a parade injuring 28 people. The suspect was taken from the scene by police. N they say he drove his pickup into two cars before he hit the crowd not far from the parade. 21 of the 28 victims have been hospitalized. Five are in critical condition. They range in age from just 3 or 4 years old to adults in their 30s and 40s. A Police Officer is one of the injured. I heard the impact over here. I seen the truck hitting the people on the ground coming through the crowd. It ricochetted off one car to another and hooked a hard left and thats when he had all the people on the ground over here. The people were just everybody was trying to help one another, trying to get them to make sure everybody was all right. Police say the driver appears to have been intoxicated. They do not suspect terrorism. Human error may not have been the reason a selfdriving uber car ran a red light. Last year a dash camera caught the uber blowing through a red light during testing in San Francisco. The company blamed the incident on human error and suspended the employee who was riding in that car for not stepping in to prevent it. Well, now two other uber employees have told the New York Times that mapping programs that fail to recognize traffic lights in the city are to blame. A federal lawsuit filed last week accuses an uber engineer of stealing those mapping programs from googles former selfdriving car project called waymo. Good sunday morning. Police are investigating a shooting thats left one man dead and two others injured. It happened just after 1 00 this morning inside gentlemen jims bar. The two injured men are expected to survive. Officers have searched the area for a suspect. So far they have not found anyone. The chp is looking for the person that shot and killed a man on highway 4. It happened just before 9 00 near hillcrest avenue. Officers say the victim was in a blue toyota. The suspect drove off but there are no details about that person or the car. The investigation shut down all eastbound lanes near the scene for about three hours. In politics, President Trump fired another shot against the media as the democrats elect a new party chairman.
