The body of a 10yearold girl found shortly after the creek she was swimming in rose too quickly. More than a foot of rain in less than 24 hours. In lincoln county, two w barely making it out alive. Literally in ten minutes, it rose from the creek side up to the house. They were banging on the doors and she rescued me. In the county, a state of emergency, neighbors and fire crews working to rescue this woman. The waters invading her home. The floods taking out bridges and engulfing streets. This car washing right offer the road, and that white pipe, a water line forced up by the rising waters. At least six families stranded, only road out cut off. And look at this. If you look closely, you can just make out the top of a car floating away. In the North Carolina town of newton, flooding forcing open a sink hole, this man jumping to test the ground. This National Guard armory now underwater. The nonstop rain taking two large chunks right out of this bridge, saturating the greens. It has stopped raining with and now behind the front system drying, but theres a big mess for days to come. Point our attentions to flosse, Tropical Storm intensified heading to hawaii, there are Tropical Storm warnings and watches. Now to the deadly bus accident we told you about at the top of the show. It crashes in indiana, flipping on its side. Three passengers were killed while Good Samaritans rushed to the scene trying to help the wounded. Authorities are looking into whether the driver was going too far. Taye herman nez is here with the story. They were members of the Colonial HillsBaptist Church in indianapolis. They were mostly teenagers. They say they are lucky to be alive after it changed in an instant. An Indianapolis Church is cope with the loss of three members after a charter bus carrying 37 was overturned. It was returning from a youth camp after smashing into a retaining wall and flipping on to the side. The bus was seen traveling at a high rate of speed. I have no idea how fast, but it was the light turned green for the southbound traffic, and then the bus just flew into my vision right away and flipped just in an instant. A nurse who stopped to help added the driver was seefrly hurt. He was bleeding bad, so i stole somebodys belt and got a turn kit on his arm. Tried to help everyone else. Other two dozen people were injured, including a toddler. Two dozen to the hospital, critical to serious. A lot of head injuries and extremity injuries. Authorities believe the bus was the only vehicle involved in the accident, but the investigation is still ongoing. Dan. They did incredible work. Thank you.
