Investigators in Winneshiek County say two people investigators in Winneshiek County say two people died from gunshots this weekend at a Mobile Home Park but that the public is not in danger. But police dont usually go to emergency medical calls unless they know the call involves an overdose. A 12yearold girl called 9 11 in massachusett unresponsive after a heroin overdose. Springfield police say when First Responders arrived 2 women had pulses, the others did not. Those emergency crews gave all of the women the opiate reversal drug, narcan. They all woke up and went to area hospitals. Police say the women put a group of minors in an upstairs bedroom as the took the drug downstairs. But how many cases have there been when the parents investigators found Drug Paraphernalia and evidence that labs will test for the purity of the heroin. As of now police have not charged anyone. Jurors are back in a Georgia Court today to hear more testimony in a case a 2yearold boy dying from being left in a hot car. To counter this, Law Enforcement recommends keeping guns locked in a safe. And to store the ammunition in a separate location. They add that kids can be curious when it comes to guns, and may not fully understand the weapons power. In most of these accidental shootings minors fired the gun, not adults. The linn county Sheriffs Office recommends teaching young people firearms. 46 09, many times the person that gets hurt or killed is not the one handling the firearm they are watching someone else thats playing with the gun and theyre curious and the gun goes off and its the other person in the room. 6 of the 14 recorded shootings happened when a minor accidentally shot another minor. And nearly all of these incidents were inside someones home. And a reminder, in iowa it is illegal for someone under the age of 21 to someone under 18 to own a rifle. Eastern iowa has seen several accidental shootings recently. A shooting on the Southeast Side of cedar rapids killed ireshia parks. She was just 13. A 13 year old boy was handling a gun when it went off last month. A bullet hit parks. The boy faces an Involuntary Manslaughter charge for her death. Two other teenagers are also charged in the shooting. Once again, Construction Equipment near a pipeline caught fire in iowa. Investigators are trying to learn more, but the fire responsible. The first robbery happened at 3 21 am at 513 South Riverside drive. Just 9 minutes, pole gilbert street was also robbed. Iowa city police say a man with a handgun demanded crash from the Riverside Drive store and fled. Later, Authorities Say 2 men came into the kum and go on gilbert street. One showed a handgun, took money from the clerk, and both ran. Police believe the robberies could be connected. Officials dont know how much the robbers stole in either case. No one was hurt. Police think fumes from a gas generator may have caused the deaths of a investigators found the two people and two dogs dead in their home.
