I was just able to confirm with the sheriff that two homes and five outbuildings have been confirmed as destroyed because of those fast moving flames yesterday. You can see here in the valley there are supposed to be mountains behind me. You cant see those because of the amount of thick smoke. Yesterday the winds really more than 15,000 acres in about 12 hours. Those winds have died down overnight and into this morning. They are still seeing fire growth. No new evacuations, but nearly 200 hopes are evacuated now. Nearly a dozen aircraft will join this attack on the fire today and 114 firefighters working on the ground attack. Made a lot of good progress. Theres going to be fire crews working residents of Custer County and pueblo county. And i want to assure all the residents that we are doing our very best and working as hard as we can to preserve the structures in place and prevent any further damage to structures. Reporter now, a lot of roads in the area remain closed and theyre asking folks to stay out of the way, let firefighters do their work. Still zero percent containment on this fire. Moving into the region. That will continue to be the case through this afternoon. Were going to see more and more cloud cover, less and less sunshine. Doppler 4000 is showing a couple of rain and snowflakes in western Boulder County and up into Rocky Mountain National Park near estes park, weve had a couple of showers farther to the west as well. Heres the futurecast. A few isolated showers in the mountains through the rest of the day. Here comes the better chance for seeing moisture. It will be snow in the mountains, 2 to 6 inches possible, including along and north of i70. Fort collins has a better chance of seeing rain compared to denver. Still, that chance is there. Fort collins probably about 50, maybe 60 chance of seeing rain tonight. Denver and boulder, closer to 20 or 30 . Not just mainstream social media, officials are seeing it through many dating and meetup applications as well as facebook. Reporter at 15, she was learning to drive and making a run at modeling. She started feeling severe back and abdominal pain. The explanatio reporter but she got worse. My stomach started expanding. Reporter on her 16th birthday, she learned she had stage four ovarian cancer. It was in her lungs and all through her abdomen. I was in disbelief. I didnt think it was, that cant be right. All cancer, all that light should not be there. Reporter her doctor calls payton a medical mystery. Youngest or one of the youngest patients in the United States diagnosed with this disease. Reporter at the university of colorado hospital, payton has had six rounds of chemotherapy and a sevenhour surgery to remove the tumors. Almost completely gone. Reporter peyton has more chemo ahead, but she stays positive. Strong enough to not be beat down by sorrow.
