Reporter alan, were talking about this fire because it has been so destructive. I was just able to confirm with the sheriff that two homes and five outbuildings have been confirmed as destroyed because of those fast moving flames yesterday. You can see here in the valley there are supposed to be mountains behind me. You cant see those because of the amount of thick smoke. Yesterday the winds really more than 15,000 acres in about 12 hours. Those winds have died down overnight and into this morning. They are still seeing fire growth. No new evacuations, but nearly 200 hopes are evacuated now. Nearly a dozen aircraft will join this attack on the fire today and 114 firefighters working on the ground attack. Made a lot of good progress. Theres going to be fire crews working residents of Custer County and pueblo county. And i want to assure all the residents that we are doing our very best and working as hard as we can to preserve the structures in place and prevent any further damage to structures. Reporter now, a lot of roads in the area remain closed and theyre asking folks to stay out of the way, let firefighters do their work. Still zero percent containment on this fire. Investigateed at this hour. Live in westcliffe, Matt Kroschel,. Firefighters have a small wildfire burning near Rampart Reservoir behind the air force academy about 50 contained. It burned about 14 acres yesterday, but it didnt damage structures. Firefighters hope to have it fully contained today. Want to get to meteorologist Ashton Altieri in colorados Weather Center now. What are the conditions on those fire lines first of all . Of extremely dry. But as matt mentioned, the good news is the wind has really calmed down since yesterday. Thats going to help the Fire Fighting effort. What we really would like to see is some rain, some moisture in southern colorado. Unfortunately, the chance for that is near zero. We have a small chance of seeing rain coming up tonight in our part of the state. Live at the tech center, it is hazy and some of the haze is because of those fires burning to the south of us. Moving into the region. That will continue to be the case through this afternoon. Were going to see more and more cloud cover, less and less sunshine. Doppler 4000 is showing a couple of rain and snowflakes in western Boulder County and up into Rocky MountainNational Park near estes park, weve had a couple of showers farther to the west as well. Heres the futurecast. A few isolated showers in the mountains through the rest of the day. Here comes the better chance for seeing moisture. It will be snow in the mountains, 2 to 6 inches possible, including along and north of i70. Fort collins has a better chance of seeing rain compared to denver. Still, that chance is there. Fort collins probably about 50, maybe 60 chance of seeing rain tonight. Denver and boulder, closer to 20 or 30 . Dozens of children are safe after they were rescued from the sex trafficking trade thanks to the fbi and agencies really around the nation. Our jamie leary live at the fbi denver division. The agencies involved announced just today that 82 children across the nation were nine recovered. 11 pimps were rescued. The youngest child was 14. It took efforts from 38 agencies across the country. Locally investigators say theyre noticing a trend this time around, an increase in the use of social media as a way to target and exploit kids. Not just mainstream social media, officials are seeing it through many dating and meetup applications as well as facebook. Its estimated as many as 2,000 kids in wyoming and colorado are trafficed every year. Social media. It could happen to any child, anywhere. It can be your kid. It can be anybodys kid. Reporter on her 16th birthday, she learned she had stage four ovarian cancer. It was in her lungs and all through her abdomen. I was in disbelief. I didnt think it was, that cant be right. All cancer, all that light should not be there. Reporter her doctor calls payton a medical mystery. Youngest or one of the youngest patients in the United States diagnosed with this disease. Reporter at the university of colorado hospital, payton has had six rounds of chemotherapy and a sevenhour surgery to remove the tumors. Almost completely gone. Reporter peyton has more chemo ahead, but she stays positive. Strong enough to not be beat down by sorrow.
