Alyx lopez was shot and killed on the north side of des moines at the intersection of 13th street and jefferson avenue. Police say that lopez have been visiting a home in the area and got into a dispute with some people. This is the 14th homicide in des moines this year. Now to another saturday morning homicide a des moines man came faceface with a suspected murderer, but didnt even know it. Brendan mcguinness is suspected of killing a man in waukee saturday morning. Kccis rose heaphy has an exclusive interview with the man who later found mcguinness. We were just worried about him as a person. We didnt know who he was. Rose sean says that his neighbor found a man who fell on the sidewalk year. The man was barely conscious. He was unable to speak when he came over here. Rose he got a wrap for the mans head and called 911. Then he was arrested. Rose the man turned out to be Brendan Mcguinness, the suspect in a homicide that happened just hours earlier. Police say that he shot gino was ola several times within automatic gun. The victim later died at the hospital, making it their first homicide since 1977. This is a safe place, thats the main thing. This was an isolated incident. Rose when he found mcguinness, sean never felt like he was in danger, making the encounter all the more shocking. Hindsight . 2020, i guess. We didnt know. We just tried to help a guy. Alyx right now police are not saying what the motive was behind the shooting. Mcguinness is in custody at Dallas County jail. Also new this morning. Des Moines Police responded to a report of shots fired. Early this morning. This time at evolution nightclub. Officers were called for multiple shots fired on northwest 6th drive. More big stories this morning, Newton Police have made 3 arrests after a caseys store was robbed at gunpoint wednesday. 16yearold gabriel crandall, 17yearold Taylor Helton and 24yearold matthew bridges are all charged with first degree robbery. Socop was apprehended just before 10 30 saturday night. All i heard was a pop, pop, pop. Gunshots and that was it. Alyx des Moines Police say 28yearold lopez was shot and killed on the north side of des moines. It happened around 10 30 friday night at the intersection of 13th st and jefferson ave. Police say lopez had been visiting a home in the area and got into a dispute with some people. Socop is charged with first degree murder. This is the 14th homicide in des moines this year. Now to the saturday morning homicide a des moines man came , facetoface with a suspected murderer, but didnt even know it. Brendan mcguinness is suspected of killing a man in waukee saturday morning. Kccis rose heaphy has an exclusive interview with the man who later found mcguinness. We were just worried about him as a person. We didnt know who he was. Rose shawn, who asked us not to use his last name, says his neighbor found a man who had fallen on the sidewalk here at 28th st and capitol ave. The man was barely conscious. He was unable to speak when we came over here. Didnt speak to us at all, so yea, he was out of it. Rose shawn got a rag for the mans bleeding head and called 911. Within about ten seconds, they had him up on his feet and arrested him. The man turned out to be 42yearold Brendan Mcguinness, the suspect in a waukee homicide that happened just hours earlier. Police say around 1 30 a. M. Mcguinness shot 41yearold gino risola several times with a semiautomatic gun on se carefree lane. Hospital, making it the waukee s first homicide since 1977. Waukee is a safe place to live. Thats the main thing. This was an isolated incident and in no way does it reflect on the community or its people. Rose when shawn found mcguinness, he says he never felt he was in danger. Making the encounter all the more shocking. Hindsight, yea, 20 20, yea, its kind of crazy they said armed and dangerous when i looked him up later. We didnt know. We were just trying to help the guy. Alyx right now, police are not saying what the motive was behind the shooting. Mcguinness is in custody at Dallas County jail. Also new this morning des moines , Police Responded to a report of shots fired this time at , evolution nightclub. Officers were called for multiple shots fired on northwest 6th drive. More big stories this morning, Newton Police have made 3 arrests after a caseys store was robbed at gunpoint wednesday. 16yearold gabriel crandall, 17yearold Taylor Helton and 24yearold matthew bridges are all charged with first degree robbery. Newton police say they will release more information on monday. Now over to fort dodge where 18yearold onterrail altman junior is in the Webster County jail after an overnight chase with police. Around 4 30 saturday Morning Police went to a home on 6th , avenue for a report of a person peeking inside the window. Officers arrived and saw a truck leaving. They tried to stop the truck but the driver sped off leading , police on a chase through a neighborhood. It ended when altman crashed into a utility pole. Police say he then ran but was caught. Alyx we have breaking news that just came into the newsroom at cole county deputies have responded to an investigation outside evolution nightclub. It is located on sixth drive. It has turned into a homicide investigation. Pulp county deputies arrived on the scene around 1 30 after hearing there was a fight. He found a victim with a gunshot wound and the victim was transported to the hospital where he later died. The victor has been identified as Deshawn Smith. Three other victims of gunshot wounds have showed up at other hospitals. We brought you the story earlier this morning, not knowing if anyone was hit. This is breaking news into our newsroom. A warm day for this time of year. By this afternoon, 59 degrees. Our sunset is at 5 00. 8 day forecast, we have some rain. Alyx now to that breaking news, polk county deputies are investigating a homicide this morning. They responded to shots fired at evolution nightclub just before 2 00 a. M. , and when they arrived they heard multiple gunshots around the club. A gunshot victim was identified deputies received information that three other gunshot victims showed up at des moines hospitals shortly after. Their names have not been released. Deputies are currently investigating. New this morning, des Moines Police have arrested a teenager in connection with a homicide. All i heard was a pop, pop, pop. Gunshots and that was it. Alyx des Moines Police say 28yearold lopez was shot and killed on the north side of des moines. It happened around 10 30 friday night at the intersection of 13th st and jefferson ave. Police say lopez had been visiting a home in the area and got into a dispute with some people. Socop is charged with first degree murder. This is the 14th homicide in des moines this year. Now to another saturday morning homicide, a des moines man came facetoface with a suspected murderer, but didnt even know it. Brendan mcguinness is suspected of killing a man in waukee saturday morning. Kccis rose heaphy has an exclusive interview with the man who later found mcguinness. We were just worried about him as a person. We didnt know who he was. Rose shawn, who asked us not to use his last name, says his neighbor found a man who had fallen on the sidewalk here at 28th st and capitol ave. The man was barely conscious. He was unable to speak when we came over here. Didnt speak to us at all, so yea, he was out of it. Rose shawn got a rag for the mans bleeding head and called 911. Within about ten seconds, they had him up on his feet and arrested him. Rose the man turned out to be 42yearold Brendan Mcguinness, the suspect in a waukee homicide that happened just hours earlier. Police say around 1 30 a. M. Mcguinness shot 41yearold gino risola several times with a semiautomatic gun on se carefree lane. Risola later died at the hospital, making it waukees first homicide since 1977. Waukee is a safe place to live. Thats the main thing. This was an isolated incident and in no way does it reflect on the community or its people. Rose when shawn found mcguinness, he says he never felt he was in danger. Making the encounter all the more shocking. Hindsight, yea, 20 20, yea, its kind of crazy they said armed and dangerous when i looked him up later. We didnt know. We were just trying to help the guy. Alyx right now police are not , saying what the motive was behind the shooting. Mcguinness is in custody at Dallas County jail. We are going to switch gears over to newton. We do have a robbery that occurred there and that is one of your big stories. Police have made three arrests after a caseys store was robbed at gunpoint wednesday. 16yearold gabriel crandall, 17yearold Taylor Helton and 24yearold matthew bridges are all charged with first degree robbery. Newton police say they will release more information on monday. Now over to fort dodge where 18yearold onterrail altman junior is in the Webster County jail after an overnight chase with police. Around 4 30 saturday Morning Police went to a home on 6th , avenue for a report of a person peeking inside the window. Officers arrived and saw a truck leaving. They tried to stop the truck but the driver sped off leading police on a chase through a neighborhood. It ended when altman crashed into a utility pole. He then ran from the card that was later caught. Altman is facing a number of charges including eluding Law Enforcement and interference with a weapon. Time now, 7 05 on your sunday morning. Deputies responded to a report of shots fired at 4397 northwest sixth drive, which is evolution nightclub. Deputies heard multiple gunshots coming from the area around the club. They located a then shop gunshot wound victim who was transferred to the hospital and later died. Polk county deputies received information that three other gunshot victims had shown up to local hospitals shortly after. Detectives are on scene now as that investigation is ongoing, and we are currently speaking with them on scene. This morning we have learned of a Major Development into the investigation. Jill wagner reports jill the cockpit voice recorder from the russian airplane that crashed in the sinai desert a week ago has revealed a critical clue. A noise was heard in the last second of the cvr recording. Jill investigators are analyzing the noise to determine if the midair explosion was caused by a bomb or mechanical problem. Investigators believe the plane broke apart at high altitude, but what caused it remains a mystery. Crews have yet to recover all pieces of the plane. The Egyptian Government has launched an investigation into the airport staff and ground crew. Reports quoting unnamed british officials said security footage from the airport showed lax the security here when we the security here when we arrived on wednesday was atrocious. Jill but days after the tragedy, security at the Sharm El Sheikh airport is on high alert. Thousands of frustrated tourists from russia and britain have been waiting at the airport for days to go home. Both countries suspended flights to the region this week. Those able to get a flight home to russia were told to leave their luggage behind. Workers laid red flowers at the crash site to remember the 224 people who died in the catastrophic crash. I mean here we are sitting over , here my neighbors come get me and this guy is sitting over here and hes a murder suspect. Deputies responded to a report of shots fired at 4397 northwest 6th drive, which is evolution nightclub just before 2 00 a. M.
