a lot of it is historic right now. it's unprecedented. we are dealing with something that's been classified as a 1 in 500-year storm. >> they yelled out of the car, supposedly said, why don't you kill yourself. she walked into her house, took her scarf that her sister had given her for christmas and hung herself. >> this was a group planning some very specific attacks with a specific date in april. i thought the time had come to act. mistakes were made in the lawrence murphy case. mistakes were not made in rome. well, it is good to see you on this wednesday. happy hump day to you. i'm christi paul. welcome to hln news and views. we want to go first and foremost to all of you folks across new england. many of you are racing to get out of the rising floodwaters. police and national guard troops are rescuing some from their homes. this is the scene in stonington, connecticut. the town is nearly trapped by rushing water. you can hear the flow of that water there, too. the governor of rhode island calls the flooding unprecedented. and it's going to get worse, i'm sorry to tell you. three straight days of heavy rain swelling rivers and streams from maine to new jersey. president obama has issued a federal disaster declaration for rhode island. and high waters closing roads and shutting down sewer systems. >> my pump just let go. >> what your going to do? >> i'll call my husband and cry. or i could turn on the jet ski and go for a ride. what can you do? mother nature is winning. >> bless her heart. new jersey governor chris christie is going to ask the governor to declare parts of his state a disaster area. the passaic river is still rising and probably woeft crest until tomorrow. we've got reynolds wolf right in the center of the flooding disaster. cranston, rhode island. looks like you are prepare forward the water to go a lot higher than it is. how high do you think it's going to get, reynolds? >> it's already crested which is some great news. at least it's crested in this area. and the story on that itself has been fairly interesting. you know, we're talking about the pawtuxet river which flows way back there near those trees. because, of course, the heavy rainfall we've been having, it has gone beyond its banks. the original forecast, christi, had the river cresting at about 20 feet 2 inches. actually it went beyond that. we crested right at that number around 1:30 this morning. then it kept rising to about 20.62. and then it began to finally level off around, i believe, 20.79. which is amazing. but the reason why we've had such incredible flooding in this area is because the heavy rainfall that we had back during the month of march. for this area, over 15 inches of rainfall on tuesday alone, over 7.9 inches of rain. and that, of course is the reason you have these floodwaters that have come all the way up here. they did so at a quick rate. our crews were out here yesterday doing what we refer to in television is a site survey. these roads are pretty dry. certainly not now. these cars here and that one off in the distance is all flooded out. driving is a tough thing to do. parts of i-95, a major thoroughfare in this part of the country. some areas very hard to get by. many of the roads, side roads, feeder roads like this one happen to be submerged completely. they're impassable for the time being. thankfully we know the waters will subside as we get into the weekend. we're also expecting much drier weather which is also going to help things. we still have all kinds of problems. case in point, two sewage treatment plants. one in warwick, the other in west warwick. boast inoperable. people were told not to flush the toilets or do any kind of laundry at least until things get better, maybe into next week. in terms of homes. many of the homes behind me have been evacuated which is good. they don't want people to stay in this situation. you've had hundreds right here in rhode island. also hundreds of businesses that have evacuated. and that is the story that's been playing out for many across the region. as i mentioned earlier, weather should be better for the weekend which certainly will bring a smile to a lot of people's faces. then, when the water is gone, the cleanup begins. what a tremendous cleanup it's going to be after this historic flood. back to you, christi. >> from one quadrant to another. we're just getting word that former first lady barbara bush is out of the hospital. she was released from houston's methodist hospital today after undergoing a series of tests. now doctors believe mrs. bush, who is 84, may have had a mild relapse of her graves defense which is a thyroid condition. she was first treated for the condition in 1989. we're told the former first lady is expected to make a full recovery, thankfully. sandra bullock, meanwhile, her husband, jesse james, has apparently checked himself into rehab. his representative told "people" magazine he's in a treatment facility to help him with personal issues to try to save his marriage and family. several women, as you know, claim to have had affairs with him. "showbiz tonight's" brooke anderson spoke with guests to discuss how this could affect his image. >> sandra bullock i brand. women love her, men love her. and most people feel betrayed for her. and i think that -- i think people would be surprised, frankly, if she stayed, given the magnitude of what's happened and the way it's played out in the public. i think it would hurt her from a business standpoint. but i don't really believe that that's the sole reason she would use for leaving. i think the humiliation, the anger, the betrayal would all be really first and foremost in her mind. >> bullock and james have been married for five years and the oscar winning actress has reportedly moved out of the home they shared. but today, on "showbiz tonight," jesse james' sex rehab shocker. is he really being treated for sex addiction? could the surprising move be enough to save his marriage? brand new drama now live at 5:00 p.m. eastern and still tv's most provocative entertainment news show at 11:00 p.m. eastern and pacific. three times a day now. go ahead and check it out on hln. tiger woods' much anticipated return to golf will be shown on live tv, at least for about a minute or so. we're talking about his first tee shot. that's it. it's a big concession, though, for the masters to agree to this. live coverage doesn't begin on the first day of the coverage until 4:00 p.m. eastern and everyone will tee off by 2:00 p.m. according to "the new york times," though, the masters has agreed to allow espn show woods' first tee shot live and then nothing else. at that point you can watch live on the internet on the masters website. we've reached out to espn to confirm. haven't heard back from them yet. president obama sees a future america run by clean, renewable energy. right now, he's going after more oil. where he proposes to find it and why it's such a controversy. drill, baby, drill. drill, baby, drill. >> you are right. drill, baby, drill. >> there you go. i know you remember that chant echoed at republican campaign rallies. the republicans lost the election, but they are getting what they wanted here. president obama is opening up new offshore oil and natural gas fields in the gulf of mexico and the atlantic ocean. >> the bottom line is this. given our energy needs, in order to sustain economic growth and produce jobs and keep our businesses competitive, we are going to need to harness traditional sources of fuel even as we ramp up production of new sources of renewable home-grown energy. >> even though the president is embracing what his republican opponents propose, republican leaders are blasting his decision to increase offshore oil production. house minority leader john boehner says he's taken too long to act and should open even more areas to drilling. we want to propose this question to you. do you think it's a good idea to drill off our coastal waters? that's what we want to hear from you. richelle carey, this is really divisive because it's do we drill? is it about renewable energy or is it about the environment? >> and most people, so far, christi, most of the responses we've gotten, most people say, yes, drill. but not everyone. so we're going to share as many views as possible like we always try to do. let me get some facebook comments. go for it. that's what art says. he says it's time the united states stopped depending on others like hugo chavez or the middle east. let's make our own profit and stop making others rich. the u.s. needs the profits right about now. and angela says, i thought obama was with al gore and said he wasn't going to pollute our waters. hmm. maybe i wasn't listening good. where is the dislike button? you know facebookers like the like button. she wanted the dislike button. as long as the research is done to go about this the right way, why not drill for our own oil and natural gas? no need to let that money go overseas any longer. some of your hln fans wanted to speak their views. they did it to our views cams. let's listen to what they think about some offshore drilling. >> i think it's a great idea to explore for oil because we're too dependent on the foreign oil companies, and our future depends on oil. so we need to see what we can find around our own coast. >> offshore drilling, i really could care less about it. if it brings more oil to the united states, more power to it. bring more economy, more money in. make us less independent, i guess -- i mean more independent. >> i think it's a pretty good idea because i think it can satisfy other groups that don't think we should be digging in alaska for oil. so if we can find it somewhere else, that's could lower our dependence on the middle east a little bit. might bring the conflict in iraq down a little bit. >> i got a comment from susan. susan is trying to look at the big picture and she's trying to focus on jobs. she said what good is the oil without a new refinery? let's build one of those so americans can have some good jobs. that work could start sooner and would help get the oil to the market quicker and probably a lot more efficient. i am glad to hear we will drill. but i know riggers that have sat at home for a month, with the price going up, i guess our refineries daent handle the capacity. nancy says, yes, i support offshore drilling. we have the resources we need to use them. shelly says this. i live at the coast in virginia. that's the area we're talking about. what most people don't realize is that this oil won't even be ready for at least 20 years. as a proud member of the chesapeake bay foundation, i ask congress to look for an alternative to the oil instead of ruining our coastline, wildlife and our way of life. and that really is at the root of this debate. we want your views. should the u.s. expand its offshore drilling at the risk of damaging wildlife, beaches, coastal areas? call us right now. 1-877-tell-hln. we want to talk about this, so get to the phones. you can also e-mail us at cnn.com/hln. text as well, hlntv. standard text rates apply or discuss it on facebook. richelle carey, hln and chuck roberts and christi paul have pages as well. and particularly if you are in the area affected, we want to hear from you like one of those facebookers just reached out. >> love to hear from them. thank you, richelle. >> sure. say hello to my little friends. >> you do coke and you kill people. that's wonderful, tony. >> i know you are probably going what? "scarface" the school play is what it's called. you heard me right but it's not really a school play. i want to clarify that. kids are, however, acting out the '80s gangster film. drug lord tony montana, the language has been cleaned up so the "f" word you hear them say is fudge. here's the famous death scene from the movie in the kids' version. >> say hello to my new friend. >> say hello to my little friend. take that you cockroaches. >> take that you cockroaches he says. it was made by a hollywood commercial and video director who says he loves viral videos. and his purpose was to make a point about how kids are being overexposed to sex and violence in our culture. a tlooft type of satire walks the fine line between smart social commentary and being flat out offensive. so we want to know which side of the fence you fall on with this. what do you make of children performing "scarface." call 1-877-tell-hln or e-mail us or text us to hlntv. or go to our facebook pages. i'd love to hear from you. richelle carey and chuck roberts have their pages as well. so are you looking for a bank loan to help expand your business? hln money expert clark howard tells you which financial institutions are willing to help. >> okay. there's been story after story about how there's no money available for you if you are a small business owner. there's no money available for you as a consumer if you are going out looking for a loan. and let me tell you something. those stories are not true. there are a number of banks around the country that are in financial trouble. of all different sizes. they have really closed their teller windows. there is no more lending going on at those. but in the meantime, there are thousands of financial institutions that are still a-okay. if you are looking to borrow money as a small business, or as an individual, you should check out smaller banks or credit unions. now credit unions historically do very small amounts of lending to businesses. but in a number of states, a number of credit unions do lend to businesses. and they may, in fact, be a loan available for you at your company. for individuals, you'll find much lower rates usually at a credit union as well. i'm clark howard. for more ways for you to save a buck, check me out at cnn.com/clarkhoward. >> all right. let's face it. owning a home on the ocean, it's beautiful, but it has its ups and downs. here's something you probably never want to see. your home teetering on the edge of a cliff. whwhwhwhwhwhwhwhwhwhh across new england, people are racing to get out of rising floodwaters there as police and national guard troops rescue some people from their homes, too. stonington, connecticut, is surrounded by rising water. major routes in and out of the area are closed. the governor called the flooding unprecedented. and it's getting worse. three straight days of heavy rain are swelling rivers and streams from maine to new jersey. the high waters closing roads, it's shutting down sewer systems. president obama has issued a federal disaster declaration for rhode island. listen to the rushing water there. new jersey governor chris christie is going to ask the president to declare part of his state a disaster area. the river probably won't crest until tomorrow. even though it looks as though the rain has pretty much stopped along the east coast, it doesn't mean they are in the clear. chad myers is in the weather center. did i hear right that it's going to get worse? >> yes. yes, the flooding doesn't exactly happen when the rain stops because all the rain that fell up river has to run down river and then get into the naraganset bay. wcvb, warwick, rhode island. these people are just dealing with and they have been dealing with rain now for the three-week period. three five-inch rainfalls over three weeks now. so for the month of march, they've had between 16 and 18 inches of rain. i don't care where you are. i don't care if you are in the amazon. at some point, 16 to 18 inches of rain in 30 days will make flooding. and as they panned out, maybe we'll get back when the pictures get a little better. but we had entire shopping centers completely under water there in warwick, rhode island. we know that's the same story in cranston. there are many, many stories about where the flooding is happening right now. i certainly can't get to all of them. i'd love to go to cnn.com/ireport. maybe even do a video for us. something that's narrated. we can try to get it on tv. the rain has stopped. the rain is over. the rain is completely gone. at least the next five days. this is 48 hours worth of rainfall. it's all offshore. maybe if you are a gloucesterman, you might get some rain. but the land will not see any more rainfall. and that will eventually allow the water to run off. but as you see the bubbles, they come down the river and sometimes these bubbles still have a lot more energy as the rainfall comes down and has come down. it has to run down. there is going to be a huge warm-up for you. this high pressure. it might be 80 degrees in new england by the weekend. so the -- all of a sudden, what was punxsutawney phil's greatest adventure because it really did last, six more weeks of winter. it's all over and here comes summer. >> they are ready to take it as i think most of the country is after this winter. thank you, chad, so much. it was about a year ago that ronald cummings and his ex-wife mystery croslin cummings made headlines over the disappearance of his little girl. she's still missing. today the couple had a court date on drug charges that are unrelated to the case of his missing daughter. but "in session's" jean casarez of our sister network trutv is all over this. >> misty croslin was in court today. she's been taken back to her jail cell now. this is so serious. misty croslin is facing eight different charges of drug trafficking. one is a 25-year mandatory minimum. but the real reason we all believe that police are so concerned about this case is that misty croslin was the last person to ever see little 5-year-old hailey cummings. it was undercover officers that in january videotaped alleged drug deals between misty croslin and ronald cummings. that's hailey's father. it's that video evidence that culminated in these felony counts but they are very serious. she remains behind bars. what we've learned from that hearing is that her attorney says that they are not yet ready for trial. so a pretrial hearing has now been scheduled for june. also, though, they have not waived their right to a speedy trial. it's very interesting, christi. what that means is there's got to be a trial. something's got to happen in a finite period of time. but the main thing i just learn from robert fields' office is they have not filed any motions in this case. and no motions are expected. and christi, her bond remains at $1.35 million. >> is there kind of an unspoken theory here that these two cases are related in some way? >> you know, i think many people, most people, believe so because misty, according to police, had very inconsistent statements continually about some of the facts of the disappearance of hailey. she has been given lie detector tests. we don't know what the fbi's result was, but texas equusearch said she failed it miserably. they believe she may be the key. and although the case is not related to have a plea deal because that's what she wants in this case, she doesn't want to go to prison for 25 years minimum/maximum. there's going to be need to be some information. that's what we think police are wanting. and they're not getting. >> does she have anything to bargain with? is she intimated anything? >> she says she doesn't. she says she doesn't remember. but we've listened to all these jailhouse tapes. and on some she says i'm going to write a letter. two people are really going to be hurt in this. my attorney knows. he's comfortable with all of this. we'll have to see what develops. but something is going to have to happen in this case. >> all righty. hey, jean, thank you so much for bringing it down for us. good to see you. for female athletes who play soccer, getting hurt means pain and the frustration of not being able to play. but as senior medical correspondent dr. sanjay gupta reports, physical therapy and strength training could make all the difference here. >> reporter: high school senior alyssa bran has been playing soccer since she was 4 years old. up until a year ago, she was virtually injury-free. >> i tried to turn too quickly and just twisted my knee. >> reporter: what she did was she tore her acl ory anterior crucial ligament. >> acl is a ligament inside the knee that gives your knee stability. it's the most common thing we see in terms of serious injuries among female soccer players or female athletes in general. >> reporter: an orthopedic surgeon says wider hips and a tendency to land in a locked knee position makes girls more susceptible to injury. the best solution? retraining. >> the best thing we can do is teach them how to jump and land in a better way. >> reporter: alyssa has been cleared to play after a year of physical therapy, followed by strength training to help support her knees. all important steps to prevent re-injury. >> i plan on if i get into a college where i can play soccer, i will definitely play it. >> reporter: and if she doesn't get a soccer scholarship, she says she'll continue to play just for fun. for today's "health minute," i'm dr. sanjay gupta. is sandra bullock's husband taking a page out of tiger woods' book. why jesse james reportedly checked himself into rehab. we're getting word former first lady barbara bush is now out of the hospital. she was released from houston's methodist hospital today after undergoing a series of tests. doctors believe mrs. bush who is 84 may have had a mild relapse of her graves disease, a thyroid condition. she was first treated for that condition back in 1989 and we're told the first lady is expected to make a full recovery, thankfully. tiger woods' much anticipated return to golf will be shown on live tv for at least a minute or so. his first tee shot. that's it. this is a big concession, though, for the masters, to agree to this because live coverage doesn't begin on the first day of the tournament until 4:00 p.m. eastern and everyone will tee off by 2:00. according to "the new york times," the masters has agreed, though, to let espn show woods' first tee shot live and then nothing else. at that point you can watch live on the internet on the masters website. we've reached out to espn to confirm. haven't heard back from them yet, though. sandra bullock's husband jesse james has apparently checked himself into rehab. his representative said he's in a treatment facility to help him with personal issues to try to save his marriage and his family. now several woman claim to have had affairs with him. bullock and james have been married for five years and the oscar-winning actress reportedly has moved out of the home that they shared. today on "showbiz tonight," jesse james' sex rehab shocker. the question is, is he really being treated for sex addiction? richelle carey, what are people saying? >> they are saying a lot, christi. they are kind of divided on this debate. it's a new twist on an old debate. is it art? is it offensive? is it both? any time someone puts little kid on a stage with fake guns, fake curse words, a pile of popcorn that's supposed to be a pile kof cain, people a of cocaine, people are going to be split. first a director and the psychologist weighed in on "prime news" last night here on hln. here's some of that. >> there have been a lot of positive responses but the negative responses were interesting because there are thousands of things that are a lot more crazy or exploitive than this. >> this is about self-promotion. this is about doing something to get himself on hln. >> okay. he is on hln. point taken. okay. now you are as well. here's your views, all right? maybe you get his point and you appreciate the way he is trying to make his point. some of you, however, do not. this is what he did. he had little kids stage a fight with fake guns. he has them sort of kind of using bad words in a way. he's got a pile of cocaine symbolized by some popcorn and he kind of went far. some of you like this. you're reacting to it and your opinions are split. let's talk about your opinions and your views. on facebook. debbie says i was glad to hear the children are actors. having said that, i do i would rather my kids be in "you're a good man, charlie brown" or "charlotte's web." i suppose he wouldn't have been making his point about violence had those been the movies he used. >> jon sent thus comment. art imitates life and now art imitates life. this is the world we live in and these kids know that. if you don't like it, quit whining and do something positive to change it, until then, kids will act out scarface. and i think it's a fantastic social commentary. so this director actually reached somebody. ed is calling us from kentucky. ed, you said that the fake gun violence like the scene we just saw that didn't really bother you so much. you were kind of bothered about the images of women. how so? >> caller: well, it just seems in the past 40 years we've been given children, our kids, the ability to act out everything that they see on television, not as much as television as we do it ourselves and kids have a tendency to emulate what they see. if they see a violent parent, they're going to act violent. if they see something that's gruesome on tv, they'll want to do that. kids want attention, regardless of where you come from or who you are and if parents don't have the time to give your kids attention, to give them some sort of a standing of what right and wrong is and how television is just television and not real life and show them that there's a difference between real life and fantasy, then how are these kids supposed to act out this, you know, what they're seeing. >> so you actually -- it seems like you got the point that this moviemaker said he was trying to make that it shouldn't be surprising if children are -- can act out a movie from "scarface" because they're absorbing the violence in the media. >> it's the old joke, monkey see, monkey do. kids will emulate everything that you do and everything that they see. if they're not taught one way or the other then the kids become violent or worse, in prison. >> ed, thank you for the phone call. appreciate it. jay is actually going to kind of disagree a little bit. let me read his facebook comment and you can interpret it the way you choose to. when i was a kid mom didn't care what movies i saw. just think, if she guard me until i was an adult, i'd probably freak out if i heard the "f" word or saw someone shot on tv. i guess he means someone being shot on tv. early exposure is fine. it's up to the parent to make sure their child knows right from wrong and how to conduct themselves socially or otherwise. i'm not exactly how young jay was when he heard the f-bomb, i don't know. let me read kendra's comments. we know why children think violence is okay because these parents are actually condoning it in a way. to me it isn't a matter of being sheltered or not. it's teaching your child what is and isn't acceptable. some things are not okay for children to see. their point is actually the exact opposite. so we want your view as well and maybe you're lined up with some of those or maybe your view is somewhere in the middle. what do you think about this movie, kids acting out "scarface." maybe you get the point this moviemaker was trying to make that kids are exposed to so much violence, you shouldn't be surprised that they can act out scarface. what do you think about it? go to cnn.com/hln or text hlntv, call us, if you want, 877-tell-hln or comment on our facebook pages, richelle carey hln and chuck and christi have pages, as well. i haven't seen the movie in a long time and i didn't expect to see it again in this form. >> that was fudging awesome. >> nice! ronald cummings' daughter haleigh has been missing more than a year. today he and his ex-wife misty had a court date. they're facing drug trafficking charges and "in session's" jean casares is standing by it tell us what it's it's all about. a little over a year ago ronald cummings and his ex-wife misty cross lynn cummings made headlines over the disappearance of his little girl haleigh who is still missing. the couple was in court on drug charges unrelated to the missing daughter case. jean casares from trutv is here today. did they have a plea or what happened? >> no plea. misty will sit in her jail cell for another three months. this was a pre-trial hearing meaning that trial could be close because they have not waived their right to a speedy trial, but robert feels the attorney for misty cummings said that he had not gotten all of the discovery. he can't go to trial yet so the next hearing will be in june, but i think one of the headlines, chuck, is that her bail still remains at $1.35 million and the defense has not filed any motions whatsoever as far as bail reduction or any motion at all to suppress the undercover video of allegedly all of these drug deals that are prime evidence for the prosecution. >> they face 25 years in prison. are they trying to leverage something in a plea deal to get information about haleigh? >> this is an enhanced prosecution because one of the charges that misty is facing has a certain number of oxycontin pills and it is enough grams that it takes it to the 25-year mandatory minimum. in essence, it doesn't have anything to do with haleigh, but a lot of people would say this has everything to do with haleigh cummings and her disappearance. >> did misty take a lie detector test? is there an environmental downside? that's what we've been asking all day. richelle carey, what's everybody saying? >> okay, chuck. today it started out with most of the response people were for the idea. as we have kind of drilled down on this idea, yeah, i said it, as we've progressed throughout the day, more of you are now saying you don't like the idea that much. let's talk about it with some people. got some callers now. irene is calling us from florida. okay, irene, what do you think? do you like the idea of drilling more? >> caller: absolutely not with all my heart. i say, no, we can't do that. i have lived most of my life, i'm 84 years old, on the jersey shore, and now i live off the florida west coast, and if you take your children for a walk on any of those beaches that have been exposed, just take a walk in galveston. >> i know galveston well. my father was born there. >> caller: well, do you know what happens to your feet? let's put our money into solar heating and solar energy and other jobs for that purpose. >> okay, irene. you want to focus or energies on finding different kind of energy. irene, thank you for the phone call. let's stay in florida. jennifer, i don't know if you were listening, what do you think about what irene was saying? irene was saying put our energies on finding alternatives. what do you think? >> caller: well, i totally agree. we moved here to sea grove beach about two years ago. the beaches here are pristine. there's snow white sand, emerald green waters, just beautiful, and we watched as everything -- all the tourism has come here. everybody loves it. we have a vacation rental here. my husband has a home repair business here, and we rely on tourism dollars, and all this building that's been done or all these tourists that have built homes, all of the businesses that cater to these tourists, we get one drop of oil on these beaches, it's over. i mean, it would just be devastating. we would have nothing. we don't have industry here. everything here is to the tourism industry. >> jennifer, do you think we can drill better than we could years ago though? >> caller: well, i guess that's possible, but i mean just one accident, it's over. >> i hear you. >> caller: it's just over. >> jennifer, i understand your concern cs concerns. let's roll our view cam. it's devro and bobby. >> i think it's a great idea to explore for oil because we're too dependent on the foreign oil companies and our future depends on oil so we need to see what we can find around our own coast. >> i think it's pretty good idea because i think it can satisfy other groups that don't think we should be digging in alaska for oil, so if we can kind it somewhere else, that could lower our dependence on the middle east a little bit and might bring the conflict in iraq down a little bit. >> okay. here are some facebook comments now richelle carey hln is where you're leaving these comments. lee wrote this, i believe this is an important step toward american energy independence. those who oppose this should not complain when oil hits $4 or $5 a gallon. you have to make a choice. this will also help the economy by creating jobs. you can't have it both ways, folks. that's what steve says. you want to drive that suv? then we can get the oil from our enemies or ourselves. you pick. i think it's a bad idea. that's what garrett says. it will only provide a short-term solution to america's energy independence and job creation. this will provide yet another reason to put off doing real, permanent work and advancing in alternative energy sources. it will take away the urgency to find better alternative and cleaner energies which is highly necessary to make progress both in energy independence and green living. beginning to drill will not occur overnight. it will be a process. why not put that time and effort into creating alternative energies that will provide permanent jobs and energy independence for the country? garrett sounds like he's running for something. it's an interesting, long, lengthy comment there but it's very clear where he's coming from. where are you coming from? what's your view on this? should the u.s. expand its offshore drilling at the risk of possibly damaging wildlife beaches, coastal areas? >> or is he just trying to hide, chuck? is rehab the new place where you go when you're under a ton of criticism and you want to crawl under a rock? and is all of that ruining the concept of addiction for genuine addicts who need help? is it in essence diluting the concept of rehab if every time a celebrity gets into trouble they go to rehab? does that make it kind of a joke? let's call a spade a spade. these are the issuing we will discuss tonight on "issue" at 7:00 p.m. eastern. dr. drew pinski of celebrity rehab has said he does believe jesse james is a sex addict and he goes on to say he believes sandra bullock is a love addict which i find absolutely fascinating. tonight we're going to examine the difference between sex addiction and love addiction. they are two totally different things, and ask is sandra really a love addict. so i think there are so many nuances to this story, but, of course, when we all heard, chuck, and i'm sure you had the same reaction, oh, he's checked into a rehab presumably, certainly a good possibility would be for sex addiction, here we go again. we just went through this with tiger. now another husband caught cheating is going into rehab. is this becoming a cliche. >> do you think she knew he had this streak? >> well, i think that's an absolutely fascinating question, chuck, and i have been pondering it, and everybody is referring to her, you know, of course, as america's sweetheart and the all-american girl and sometimes somebody who has been hit with those labels wants to compensate for that by going for somebody who has an edge. in other words, opposites attract. so the very fact that she might be pigeonholed as this all-american girl and america's sweetheart may inspire her to desire someone who is in touch with the dark side. >> and he may have been rebelling as a biker thing against her perfect, you know, perfect wife image conceivablco. >> and jim moray made that comment about her being a brand, which is a brilliant comment but one of the things we've learned is any time somebody crosses that line and becomes a brand, trouble will follow. people are not brands, they're not commodities. they're human beings and they're not perfect, and unfortunately the image of perfection sometimes behind that image lies a lot of messy stuff. >> we'll get more on that tonight. that's a great lineup you have tonight. jane, thank you so much. good to see you. jane velez-mitchell. remember tiger's big apology last month, that public apology last month? i'm sorry? >> say hello to my little friend. >> we got darlene on the phone talking about it. are you with me? >> caller: yes, i am. >> how are you doing? >> caller: i'm doing fine. i love your channel. >> thank you so much. talk about this. what do you think? >> caller: i want to give the director an applause for the simple fact is by us seeing these little kids doing this, we are actually seeing what they play on playstation 2, xbox. if you ever see the games like call of duty, grand theft auto, they're doing the exact same thing except with a controller in their hand. now since this director actually has these little kids portraying these people, now everybody is in a big tiff, but us parents, us grown-ups, need to really concentrate on what these kids are watching and seeing, and when you see it act out, then everybody, like i said, is in a tiff, and i say hats off to that director. >> oh really. how do you think the kids process this though. how do they distinguish reality from play time? >> well, i think that's up to the parents. and what's going on are these parents are going and they are getting these kids and letting them watch these tv shows and they're keeping them business where they can go do their things. it's up to the parents to monitor. you monster their myspace, computer, their facebook. you monitor all that. and without monitoring, they're going to do it. >> listen, great call and thanks for watching. ron is willing to talk about this. hey, ron, how are you doing? >> caller: oh, i'm okay. >> what did you think about this? did you watch the clip? >> caller: i wasn't able to see it. i heard it on sirius radio. i have three children on of my own, a 6-year-old daughter, a 13-year-old daughter and a 15-year-old son, and i personally, my opinion is to me it's just a video, but the children -- i have got my children, all three of my children are straight "a" students in school, and my son is an honor student, and i have never sheltered my children from anything of the world and anything they have seen on tv or anything. what i have always done, i have always given them proper guidance with everything and i have always talked to them. i have talked to my children extensively for hours about different things and i have always given them guidance for everything. >> do they ever idolize the bad guy? >> they're trying. i think that's the question, is the volt going to catch on in the u.s. we took it for a test drive. this is a car that gets, chuck, about 40 miles on an electric charge and it kicks over to gasoline, but the price tag as you're going to hear is pretty high, especially given the state of consumer spending in this country. the question really is this the car that is the future of general motors? it leads it out of the crisis that it has been in. take a look at what we found out. >> so i have no key. >> you can nail it a little bit here and get some acceleration. this is all new technology. this is something that nobody has ever done before and that many of our competitors said wouldn't be possible and gm will never do it. >> will all of the volts this year be assembled in michigan? >> every volt for the foreseeable future will be built in michigan. >> why do that? it costs you more than assembling them in mexico or elsewhere. >> no. now with the weak dollar and with the wage concessions we got from the uaw, the united states is becoming a very good place to build automobiles. >> i want to talk about the price point because we are still in the midst of a recession. americans are still very cautious of what they're spending. how much is this going to cost? >> it's going to be in the ballpark of $40,000, which is, you know, a lot of money for most people. we're not going to make a lot of money on this car, if any at all. >> so why do it? why do it because this company is still billions of dollars in the hole to u.s. taxpayers. >> happily we're making a lot of money on a lot of our other vehicles. i think financially we're going to be all right. so that's the battery. there's the fuel tank back there. >> what price does gasoline have to be at for this to make sense? >> i would say, unfortunately, i think this is going to happen at some point in the united states, but at $4 and $5 a gallon, there's going to be a heavy natural demand for a car like this. oh, look, we were running 963 miles per gallon on that run. >> and that, of course, is because we were really, chuck, as you know, running on the battery when we were driving that car. the question of success for this is how expensive does gasoline get. the more expensive it is, of course, the more appealing a car like this one is. >> and the nissan leaf is going to be a little cheaper with a much shorter range. >> that's because the nissan leaf is an all-electric car. this is an electric car that switches over to gas after 40 miles. so the nissan leaf is competitive. it's about $26,000 after you take off all of the federal tax deductions. so a lot of competition out there and this morning i was just at the auto show and i saw the ford fusion which is an all-electric car as well. >> that tax deduction is pretty sizable as well. >> yeah, 7500 bucks. >> thank you so much. milwaukee's archbishop is apologizing for the what way his archdiocese dealt with an abusive priest decades ago. father lawrence murphy is bleached to hableach -- believed to have abused as many as 200 boys before he died. the archbishop defended the pope against accusations he delaware deserved some blame. >> the holy father has been firm in his commitment to combat clergy sexual abuse, root it out of the church, reach out to those who have been harmed, and hold perpetrators accountable. >> the scandal taukand tauched heated debate on "larry king live." they argued over whether the focus of the controversy is molestation or mhomosexuality. >> you cannot link homosexuality to a pedophilia crisis in the catholic church. >> most of the victims are post-pubescent. you have to keep your facts straight. if i'm the only one who is going to deal with facts tonight, then that will be it. the vast majority of victims are post-pubescent. >> i don't think as a person of faith you really know what you're talking about when it comes -- >> if the john jay study of criminal justice -- it's not my opinion. take a look at the social science data. >> what's the difference? 7-year-old missing aja johnson and her alleged kidnapper? oklahoma police are giving us an update right now. we're going to go ahead and listen right now. let's listen in. >> cherokee has the more breaking news at this time. >> our pathologists have been working for the past couple of days to try to make positive i.d. on the two people found in norman the other day. they did make the positive i.d.'s on lester hobbs and aja johnson. we used finger prints on mr. hobbs to identify him, as well as tattoos. and we used dental records for the young girl to make that determination today. as far as cause and manner of death, our pathologists are still working on making those determinations. they are both still pending, and i believe that we are waiting on toxicology screening, which will be a full tox run of different tests that they do. so that could be anywhere from three weeks to six weeks, depending on the findings. sometimes our pathologists will look and see what they found initially and order more tests. at this point, that's all we have on the case. again, the i.d.'s were made formally today. cause and matter of death will not be determined at this point. down the line, fate waiting on further testing. >> how much more difficult is it due to decomposition? >> it makes it more difficult when a body is decomposing. there's not much to work with for a pathologist. so they take into consideration the situation at the scene, the situation leading up to the scene, circumstances, things that might be discovered at the scene. things that might have been told to investigators, what may have played into this. but decomposition makes it difficult, certainly. >> can your pathologist make an estimate how long the bode -- bodies have been in the area? >> the pathologist said it would not be impossible to tell, but difficult to tell. we've had cold, hot weather, rain. she said it would be very difficult. the way we determine when we're asked can you tell a time of death, we are determining it based on the last time the person or people were known to be alive and then when they were found. and in this case, you know, that's months apart. so it's going to be very difficult for us to determine an exact time of death. we'll do your best. >> i've heard conflicting reports. one that both bodies were in the vehicle, one that he was outside the vehicle. do you know -- >> i was not at the scene. >> are you running toxicology tests on both of them? >> yes. >> the wild swings in the weather make it that much more difficult to determine a cause of death. >> snow and then heat and then rain, yes. it does affect our work. significantly. >> and they had been there, what a month, right? >> we don't know, sir. it would be difficult for us to determine how long they've been out there. i will turn it over now. >> good afternoon. i think most of you know who i am. my name is richard goss. that's g-o-s-s. my office served -- i specifically served as the service, the national center for missing and exploited children. america's most wanted, state and local law enforcement agencies from across the nation. each and every lead, no matter how mundane was documented and followed up on. some of the leads we received could be described as simply a possibly sighting of the car. i made every effort to make that the most wanted car in the united states. i think we pretty much succeeded. a person would call and say i'm pretty sure i saw the car at such and such highway at such and such location two days ago. it was actually documented and followed up on as best we could. on those, there's not much follow up that could be done other than to specifically locate the geographical location and through a map in the united states, hopefully develop a clus ir of those possible sightings. many others were specific locations at stores and places of business. we immediately followed up on those in order to determine if they had surveillance footage at the location. we spent countless hours after hours after hours of going through surveillance footage from all types of businesses, turnpike toll booths, you name it, we've looked at them. we were looking for one actual credible sighting where we could specifically say this is the car that we're looking for. as i mentioned earlier, i heard some of the talk, mainly on national television with some of the talk shows on their with former fbi agents, retired fbi agents. i want to make sure everybody understands, the fbi was involved from the very beginning. we actually had an agent assigned to a command post. i spoke to the oklahoma office of the fbi. he offered the resourcings that the fbi had two include the use of their child abduction recovery team. >> you're listening to some information
