professor accused of killing three faculty members on campus yesterday is now charged with one count of capital murder. she is identified as professor amy bishop. at a news conference just a short while ago, school leaders were asked why a campus alert didn't go out right away. >> this was a very rapidly involving situation, we had officers responding and trying to assess exactly what was going on. things were happening very rapidly, we had a suspect in custody very quickly and that kept it to that building and those circumstances and eliminated the threat. the fact that the alert did not go out did not impact safety of the remainder of the campus and did not impact the safety of the people that were in the building. >> for now authorities say they will not discuss a motive. but waff tv is reporting the shootings happened after bishop learned she would not get tenure. the school has canceled all classes and athletic events for next week. a massive anti-taliban effort has begun in one key to that goal is winning over the civilian population. >> i think one of the key problems they're going to face is a different side, support from the people. will the people in the town rally to their side when they see afghan troops in front and with nato troops? i think that's going to be the challenge because it's that actual intelligence you get from the people that will not only limit casualties, but demonstrate a sense of cooperation from the people. >> that operation is part of a broader strategy to separate the taliban from civilians and re-establish the afghan government there. there's a twist in the case of ten americans jailed in haiti. they're accused of trying to illegally move about 12 kids into the dominican republic. police in el salvador said the man putting the of making that long drive home. and they had a good time. >> i'm i-reporter cameron harrelson and the unthinkable has happened in atlanta, georgia, it is snowing. and you did hear me correctly. i want the deadly shooting spree at the university of alabama's huntsville campus. authorities are saying the assistant biology professor accused of killing three faculty members on campus yesterday is now charged with one count of capital murder. and more charges are pending. the alleged shooter is identified as professor amy bishop. three other school employees were also wounded. one is in critical condition. at a news conference just a short while ago, school leaders were asked why a campus alert didn't go out right away. >> this was a very rapidly evolving situation. where we had officers responding and trying to assess exactly what was going on. things were happening very rapidly, had a suspect in custody very quickly. and that, you know, kept it to that building and those circumstances and eliminated threat. the fact that the alert did not go out, did not impact safety the remainder of the campus and did not impact the safety of the people that were in the building. >> for now authorities say they will not discuss a motive. but waff-tv is reporting the shootings happened after bishop learned she would not get tenure. the school has canceled all classes and athletics hour, he lost control of his sled, went over the track wall, and struck an unpadded steel pole. he was pronounced dead just a short time later. >> here you have a young athlete who lost his life in sexual practices. they asked people, both married and single, how often and how good their sex lives were. and found that in general married people have better sex lives than single people. people
