Washington d. C. What do we know about these high risk individuals . We really dont know much. The information came to us while we were on a call for centers for Disease Control and prevention. I think its probably safe to say out of those ten, four would be the family members who are under quarantine as we speak at that dallas apartment complex. They likely have the closest contact with this patient. The other six unleer. The other big update we got out of this Conference Call out of the 100 people, the state identified as to have had some sort of contact with Thomas Duncan either direct or indirect here in texas. 50 of those people now require daily checkups. That means that medical teams will be taking their temperature twice a day to make sure that they are not coming down with fever. One of the first ebola symptoms. In the same breath as all of this alarming news, they say that, again, no one here in this area is showing any signs of the deadly virus other than the man in the hospital behind me, gretchen. Right. Thats a big dot, dot, dot, yet. Thomas duncans family, the man in the hospital, they are now talking . They have. In fact, the cdc has confirmed to Fox News Channel that the family contacted them in the very early stages of all of this, claiming that they didnt really feel Texas Health Presbyterian hospital was taking this seriously enough. Remember, duncan came here to the e. R. Last thursday. The nurse had apparently been told by duncans family that he had traveled back from liberia. Listen. They kept him right there. They go to more investigation before sending him back home, but they sent him home, and the man went home to his family. That man is the patients half brother. He happens to live in the phoenix area, and his 21yearold son also happens to be one of the four under quarantine right now here in dallas, gretchen. Very interesting. All right. Casey, thank you for the update. United airlines alerting passengers how to get in touch with Health Officials after that liberian man got past security checks and took the threeleg trip to dallas after he was in contact with somebody with the disease. While flights continue to fly in and out of west africa daily, airlines are taking some precautions to keep the virus from spreading to passengers. Will it be enough . Should we be putting that responsibility on our Flight Attendants . Vicky jergins, chair of safety, health, and security United Association of Flight Attendants and a United AirlinesFlight Attendant. Thanks for being on the real story. My pleasure. Im going to pose that question to you. Should we be putting this responsibility of safety and health on our Flight Attendants . Actually, that already occurs on a daily basis regardless if theres an event like this. Flight attendants are always assessing passengers. When were standing there greeting you as you board the aircraft, were actually assessing is there something with this passenger that we need to bring forward . We actually have processes within our the way within our airline where if we see a passenger who is ill, we have access to resources. The resource that we actually have access to is medical emergency room doctors that we can contact, and we can actually explain to them what were seeing in the passenger. We have resources on board where were able to take temperatures. Its totally different from somebody maybe just having, you know, a cold and opposed to that having ebola. The stakes are rising at an alarming rate right now. You have playbook . Is that what you just described . What you do do . Wear gloves . Lets say somebody gets sick on the airplane. Regardless what the situation is, Flight Attendants are taught to assess passengers at all times. When were in a situation like this, were going to be assessing, but were also going to be using those resources. I as a Flight Attendant will not be assessing the passenger by myself. I have a medical emergency room doctors that we have access to, so what i would do is we have a stat kit, an emergency kit. We can do temperature. We actually will do temperature because fever is actually one of the first symptoms. You dont have doctors on the flight necessarily. Sometimes people are lucky enough to have doctors on the flight if theyre having an emergency, but i guess heres my question. The cdc says no one is in danger that was on that were on those flights, the united flights, the three of them, that that passenger took who now has ebola full blown. Do you agree with that statement . We will make a call to the emergency room doctors that we were just talking bshgs and we will relay the information from the aircraft to them. We do have the ability to do you agree with the cdc saying that nobody on those flights is in danger right now . I believe that is true. The passengers that do not show any symptoms are not able to theyre not contagious at that point in time. He didnt become contagious until two days after he was on the aircrafts. I know thousands and more than that watching right now are hoping thats the case, but it sounds like a lot of responsibility to put on Flight Attendants, but its great to hear from you, vicky. Thank you for your time. Thanks. Lets move on to another huge story because a new round of air strikes against isis in syria. U. S. Targeting a weapons facility in the east. Meantime, the Islamic State militants closing in on a key town near the turkey border. Turkeys parliament has given a green light to a ground fight in syria. Its unclear if the border town can really be saved. Greg palcott live from turkey near the syrian border. Suddenly turkey is on board because isis is getting close to them. Its very close indeed, gretchen. There is heavy nonstop fighting that continued throughout the day in this syrian town, and it has a big implication for the u. S. Led fight against isis. Again, we watch as isis mortars, artillery and tanks pounded away at that town, and the brave but outmanned and outgunned kurdish fighters just tried to hold them back, and that included fighting very close fighting we witnessed right on the edge of the town. Now, while there have been some u. S. Air strikes in the area in the past week, there have been none in the past two days, and, again, we watched isis tanks and isis armed vehicles freely roll across the desert towards that town. We also watched as that Turkish Military staged a big buildup on their side of the border while they claim they dont want kobani to fall. Its also been claimed by analysts they dont want to anger the very dangerous isis group, and they dont want to seem to be helping the kurds who sometimes they have their own fights with. Finally, one note to remember, gretchen. If kobani falls, if isis takes it, then that means, according to the people that weve been speebing to here on the ground, isis will control on the syrian side of the border 100 miles of that border. Thats how important this town is, and how crucial the fight is. Back to you. Greg, live for us in that area. Thank you. Zirjs were a month out, and according to politico with the balance of power at stake in the senate, there are troubling new signs for democrats in at least three big races. Lets look atlas lass. Conservative base now rallying behind republican challenger dan sullivan after a tough august primary as senator mark bagic phase an attack ad he had to pull. Down in louisiana senator Mary Landrieu in the fight of her political life against republican congressman bill cassidy as landrieu struggles with refrlations she improperly charged taxpayers for charter flights. In arkansas republican congressman tom cotton gaining ground in the polls on democratic senator mike pryor. Its time for real talk with allison barber, writer for the Washington Free beacon. Those are three of the really important races, and its been interesting to watch the polls shift over the last couple of weeks, right, allison . Right. It really has been. I think you go through and you look at all these different ones, and you see that these candidates have had a consistent lead in almost all of these races. Louisiana is a little bit unique because they have an open primary, and when you look at polls where they have three candidates, the Tea Party Candidate as well, landrieu is only a point hfd the field. When you look at potentially for a runoff in december, which most people think will likely happen in louisiana, then landrieu is behind her republican counterpart, bill cassidy, by three and four points. You are seeing a lot of these race, whether its alaska or arkansas. Youre seeing a lot of different polls come out that show consistently and for the past month that republicans are leading ahead. Then i think you have democrats making a couple of gaffs like the ones that you mentioned that also helps to put republicans in a bit of a better position. Lets remind folks that the gop needs six seats to seize the majority in the senate so, we talked about three of those races. There are other ones like mcincome with kay haagan, right . Right. North carolina is interesting because that was a race that when it started out, you probably would talk to anyone, and they would tell you that kay haagan was the most vulnerable democrat up in this election cycle, and that was kind of the one that everybody thought they were going to flip. Whats interesting, if you look at all the polls of the past month, kay haagan is actually doing much better there. Shes been leading in the past eight polls that i have seen come out of the state. Interesting. Thats where republicans actually did think they were going to flip that pretty easily, and now she seems like that might hold on. Theyre turning their attention, i think, in some circles focussing more on areas like alaska or colorado and other places where they can pick up, but North Carolina was definitely expected to be the one that was going to be an easy flip. Clearly, its not. Theres still enough time for any of these to change, but right now North Carolina has been a surprise. All right. So according to audio obtained by your website, senator mark pryor of arkansas reportedly said in response to a donors question at a private fundraiser that the best thing that could happen to the senate would be if Mitch Mcconnell gets beat and harry reid gets replaced. What the heck is going on with that because he is talking ill about somebody in his own party, harry reid. Right. That was a really interesting article that Elana Goodman had. I do think that mike pryor looked at that, and i think its an election tactic. Whether or not he means that i couldnt know for sure, but you look at the president s Approval Rating in his state, and right now pryor is only four points ahead of him there. Like, pryors Approval Rating is 38 , and obamas is 34 . Thats a state where its very much they pride themselves on being this independent state, and a big part of his candidate is also disassociating himself from the Democratic Party and anybody that is going to be too blue because theyre kind of running theyre running in a red state. Arkansas is one that is trending red. We know it has been for a while. I think on his part pushing back on that more than anything might be something that just could benefit him in that state and probably amongst his donors. Sfli hope he doesnt run into harry reid in the elevator. It would be awkward. A little awkward. Have a good weekend. Thank you so much. Lots of news today. And were going to ask bill oreilly all about it. From leon panetta calling out his old boss to the Ebola Outbreak and the mounting pressure to keep flights out of west africa from coming to the u. S. Bill will join me in just a bit. Speaking of ebola, how safe are you really . Were going to look at whether the government is doing enough to keep an outbreak from happening and if there really is a threat to americans at all. A colorado district trying to hash out differences over proposed changes to their history curriculum. What they finally agreed to do to get the kids back in classes after nearly two weeks of protest. The real story on that and an exclusive interview coming up. o with the American Peoples distaste for washington, seemingly growing by the day, can the federal deposit be trusted to control the Ebola Outbreak . Some politicians are, of course, already weighing in. Among them tom tillis, republican candidate for the senate in North Carolina has come out saying, keeping the American People safe must be our nations top priority, and the white house should immediately ban travel from liberia, sierra leon, and guinea to contain the spread of ebola. And louisiana governor bobby somewhere indal within the hour saying how exactly would stopping the entry of people potentially carrying the ebola virus be counter productive . This seems to be an obvious step to protect Public Health in the United States. Time for real talk now. Alan combs, host of the alan combs show and a Fox News Contributor and lisa booth. Should politics come into the middle in the fight against ebola . I dont think they should come into the middle of the fight against ebola, but i think lets look at the facts here. So president obama just two weeks ago had said that the likelihood of ebola coming to the United States was very slim, and look where we are, right . We just had the first case in the United States history of ebola with Thomas Duncan in dallas. I think what this comes down to is trust in government, and according to gallop 60 of americans do not trust the federal government, with good reason. So does she have a point . Should we trust the government to fix elbowl right now . We dont automatically trust the government, but certainly trust the people of the cdc who are supposed to know what they are doing when centers for Disease Control, and, by the way, Anthony Foucci has pointed out that one of the reasons were having a problem fighting this is because of defunding. Thats hard to say. Sequestration. Thank you for correcting me. It is very hard for me to say because i the other day i couldnt say secret service. Because of sequestration its hard for them to have the funds they need for they. Its defunding, which has caused a problem. I dont know. I want to ask you the same question. You trust the cdc right now . Do you think were getting the whole story . No, i dont trust the cdc at all. The federal government has already failed. Theres been numerous reports of mishandling of this situation from Thomas Duncan being able to go to two different airports into the United States, from failure with the quarantining of the family, and also children that he came in contact with who were allowed to go back to their school. Should the United States stop the flights . Yes, absolutely, 100 . Once again, experts have said this is going to stop the indepress and e greg of people. Its going to hurt the problem even more by stopping people from going back and forth. When you need to get help there, you need to get people in and out of those countries in order to get them the help they need. Absolutely not. Your approach would be lets just send 3,000 more troops to west africa right now when were dealing west africa. Lets send them to syria or iraq. A much better use of troops. Sfroo we are going to talk about this more with bill oreilly in a couple of minutes because he had some very passionate talking points on this very issue. Have a great weekend to the both of you. Time for my take. Please, please, lets not have politics fwet in the way of a deadly disease. Is there anything we can try to tackle any more that doesnt become who we might offend or who may not lose votes depending on what they say . Shouldnt all americans and all american pole tig tigss be concerned about ebola and whatever we can to make sure it doesnt become a huge problem here in the United States . Shouldnt we all come together finally to figure out how to combat it . Sure, people will say the government isnt good at fixing problems, and they may be right, but on this issue seems to me everyone for once could agree that we dont want ebola getting any worse here at home. So lets all work together. Wow. Imagine that. To make sure that doesnt happen. Coming up leon panetta with some very sharp criticism for the white house. What the administration is saying in response to the allegations that the president s inner circle botched a deal to keep our troops in iraq. Bill oreilly joins me for some real talk on this. Plus, wouldnt you like more accurate Weather Forecasts . Turns out government forecasters are rolling out a new tool to do just that. That brings us to our question of the day. No injuries reported and no word on what caused the ferris wheel to malfunction. How would you like your local weather person to be a little more accurate . Well, guess what, theres a new tool that will actually help meteorologists get it right more often. Its all thanks to lots of data from across the country that will produce new weather maps that are going to look like the ones you see on your screen. Meteorologist rick is always right when it comes to the weather, and he joins me now. I dont mean to throw meteorologists you should the bus. Isten, we get thrown under the bus a lot. Were used to it. This new technology, what does it mean . Its really Big Computers is what its doing, which is kind of making the change. Generally in the past all computer models run for the most part once every six hours, so they get the data thats out there every six hours. It takes a lot of Computing Energy to put out a model. This now is going to be done every hour, and that has really big implications, and its also going to be taking in a lot more data, and it can give us imagery like this. This is a temperature map, and you get a very detailed resolute idea of what the temperatures look like and what forecast temperatures are going to look like. Lots of elevation items as well as valleys and mountains. Those sorts of things. Certain kinds of wind. Then take a look at what a future radar would look like. This you could see, hey, we know theres going to be rain up here across parts of canada and the great lakes, but its this stuff here that little more individual cells, and right now when we look at forecast weather data, it gives us one pixel for every eight miles. If you can get your mind around it. This is going to give us one pixel for every two miles. This is how it might have looked. We can say theres rain coming into north jersey and pennsylvania, but thats not widespread rain. Its actually these individual cells. Much more pinpointed. Much more pinpointed. Whats taken so long, if i can ask . Its a lot of money to do, this and its a lot of Computing Energy to get this computer to run that stuff that quickly when the model data comes out. Its just very difficult. When . When is it going to happen . It started this week. It went live this week. Its going to help us with the forecast tremendously. The Weather Forecast that youre going to do right now is going to be so much better than last week . Yes. The picture doesnt look like it, but it helps especially local meteorologists, but today get ready. Its still hot all across parts of california, and weve fwot some really big storms moving across the central part of the country. Behind that you see that right up there . Thats snow. The Obama Administration pushing back on allegations from former cia director and defense secretary leon panetta. Its all in his new memoir. He blames the president s inner circle in part for the rise of isis by fumbling a potential deal to keep u. S. Troops on the ground in iraq. Chief White House Correspondent ed henry live from the white house. What are we learning more from panettas book . Well, gretchen, the stakes are high because leon panetta is alleging in this book that because of missteps by the white house, isis could now have a safe haven inside iraq as well as al qaeda eventually getting a safe haven again. He is really raising the stakes about the terror threat. What he is saying that while the white house is repeatedly claimed that, look, the iraqi Prime Minister nuri almaliki would not give legal immunity to u. S. Troops to stay behind in iraq, and thats why the president said he didnt leave a residual force behind when he pulled all troops at the end of 2011. Panetta is saying that he and military leaders at the pentagon were actually arguing that they had real leverage against maliki, that they could have threatened cut off u. S. Aide to iraq and that would have forced maliki to allow troops to stay behind with immunity, but panetta says those on our side of the argument viewed the white house as so eager to rid itself of iraq that it was willing to withdraw rather than lock in arrangements that would preserve our influence and our interests. The state Department Spokeswoman today responded on fox that basically the white house does not believe that leaving that residual force would have made a difference, gretchen. All right. So how is the white house responding to all this criticism . I find it fascinating because usually when a tellall comes out, they say they dismiss it by saying were not going to get into a tit for tat. We dont do book reviews. But last night Vice President joe biden broke that rule, as he sometimes does, speaks his mind, and had this to say about leon panetta. Im finding that former Administration Officials as soon as they leave, write books, which i think is inappropriate, but at any rate no, im serious. I do think its inappropriate. At least give the guy a chance to get out of office. The president might be stunned about the previous tellall from another former pentagon official, bob gates. He said that Vice President biden had gotten every major Foreign Policy decision wrong for the last quarter century. The president ended up defending him, gretchen. All right. Thanks so much, ed. Good to see you. Heres another interesting quote from leon panettas book where he claimed america looked weak when the president decided not to go into syria last year after president assad used chemical weapons on his own people. Panetta saying the result i felt was a blow to american credibility. When the president as command ner chief draws a red line, it is critical that he act if the line is crossed. The power of the United States rests on its word. He then went on to say assads action clearly defied president obamas warning by failing to respond it sent the wrong message to the world. Im sure bill oreilly had some thoughts on that. He joins me now in studio. Leon panetta saying a heck of a lot in this book, and it is not good for the Obama Administration. Well, ill find out tuesday when he comes into the factor. Mr. Panetta is going to come up against me, and ive known him for many years. I have lots and lots of questions for him. All right. What do you make of that quote that i just read about syria . There was so much discussion back then that the president was wishy washy . Most Foreign Policy people say if you are going to make a statement as president of the United States that youll do something, you better do it. Wronk thats a controversial thing that panetta is saying. I think the president is conducting himself differently than past president s have in this country, and i think everybody is just pointing that out. Well, what does it say about the credibility now based on the situation that we find ourselves in that part of the world currently with isis and khorozan and terrorism alive and well . It says that the obama Foreign Policy disengagement and being one of the pack has failed, but, again, Everybody Knows that now. It hasnt made the country stronger. Now the president is on the defensive. He is trying to defend all the decisions that he made that have not worked out well for us. Were trying to advance the story into how all this could happen. I think thats the interesting part of panettas book. Okay. So how do you think it all happened . Im going to have to get pan eighta on the record as cia chief and defense secretary to say, look, i said this, he said that, and then well know what the process was. Thats the value of leon panetta, who, by the way, is an honest man. He is not, you know, a spinner. So he in my experience he will tell you the truth if you ask a direct question, and thats what we want to know. President obama said red line, and then he didnt do anything. Why . What was the explanation for it . Maybe there is an explanation. Certainly it has not helped the country right now. All right. Lets move on to ebola because you have been very passionality about this situation. You are calling last night you were calling on discontinuing all flights coming out of west africa into europe into the United States. Still with that . Well, the usa, i dont think you have any right to call on the europeans to do anything, but i will say air france and British Airways has suspended flights. Its insane that u. S. Border patrol would allow any west african in here now. No. No. I mean, im sorry. Heres what they say. They say that on that flight that the texas man was on zero chance, the cdc says zero chance of transmission. It doesnt matter. It also says if we restrict flights that thats going to make it more difficult for aid people to come and go. Thats so much bologne and such spin. Aide people usually dont fly commercial anyway. They fly on chartered flights in, okay . U. S. 3,000 of the military. I think thats humane. I think thats fine. Doctors without borders, they usually charter into where theyre going. This is all a bunch of bull. Theres not one reason on this earth to allow any west africans in here right now. I want you to listen to the guy that runs the cdc because he doesnt feel the way you do. I wish we could get to zero risk by sealing off the border, but we cant. The only way were going to get to zero risk in this country is by controlling it in africa, and until that happens, americans may come back with ebola. Other people who have a right to return or a visa to enter may come back. All right. What do you say to that . What i say is we invited the doctor on tonight, and he turned us down. Number one, he doesnt want to defend that position. Number two, the reason he doesnt want to defend it is that its indefensible. Were not talking about a zero tolerance anything. All were talking about is the federal governments mandate is to protect we, the people. All right . Theres no reason to allow an epidemic environment flights to come here from those places. There is no reason. How do you control that . Stop it. How do you control it . With the texas guy he flew to brussels first. You control it because he has a passport that says im a liberian, and you say, sorry, but for the next six months, you cant come here. An american who has been in that country al would not be allowed to come back. An american would have to be isolated and quarantined for 21 days. Lets talk about your book, because youre killing somebody else again. This time from jesus to general patton. I think one of the most fas natureding things in this book is that he actually had some strange near death experiences before he actually died. Yes, he did. Tell me about at least one of them. His plane, general patton, was flying through the theater, was attacked by a british fighter plane, and then theres no record of where that plane came from, but the most astounding thing is that patton told his own daughters that he was going to be assassinated. He knew his enemies were after him. Sdmree also says on page 285, or you say, that he is going to resign from the army so that he can go home and say what i have to say. Absolutely. Is that why maybe somebody killed him . Well, stalin knew that patton wanted to fight the soviet army, and the soviet army was weakened after the after world war ii in defeating the nazis, and stalin didnt want any part of that. You knew that patton didnt trust him and thought he was the enemy. Patton was going back to the United States to launch a speaking tour, and the day before he was supposed to leave from europe to the usa, he gets in this car accident, which is inexplicable. Its we lay it out for you like this. Its fantastic. Theres no way this should have ever happened. He is not dead. He goes to the hospital. He is paralyzed. He is drinking cognac and joking with his wife, and the next morning he is dead. No autopsy. All the records disappear. She said he didnt want one. The wife said she didnt want an occupies. Then she changed her mind. Then Beatrice Patton said, you know what, this doesnt add up, but there was and we are calling for a reopening of the investigation. All right. Check it out. Killing patton by bill oreilly. I will be on your show. Its number one, by the way. Of course, it is. Of course, it is. Im going to be mad as hell when i do that segment tonight. Mad as hell with carson tonight on the factor. All right. Some horrible news. Three teenage Football Players dead in just one week after taking the field to play football. Two of them after taking serious hits. What can be done to keep the deal was struck in the proposal to change one Colorado School districts history curriculum to be more patriotic . Well talk to the president about whats going to happen next. And this bear can dance. Look at those moves. Why that bear just cant stop shaking it. I could watch that all day. Like i said, catch me on oreillys show tonight 8 00 p. M. Well find out what makes bill mad as hell. By the way, why didnt he like my drivers license picture . A little inside scoop. The safety of young Football Players is against you should the microscope. Three High School Players collapsing and dying during the past week. This as the university of michigan deals with concussion issues after leaving their quarterback in a game when he was clearly shaken up following a huge hit. Joining me now chris val eta, entrepreneur and former nfl player, jonathan gilliam, a former navy seal and fbi special agent, and michael milanski, attorney and ceo of milanski, luntz and partners. I guess we booked you on the right day, chris. Former nfl player. Whats going on with these three young people dying, and then i want to move on to head injuries. Look, its awful. Any time theres an injury in sports in general its a terrible thing. Especially when you are dealing with kids. Its a tragedy of epic proportions. Football, its not safe . Is that what you would say . I would say football is very safe, when its taught correctly, when its handled correctly. I think that there are clearly long steps that have to be taken. Clearly rule implementations that need to be made to better the safety of football, but i think on a whole when taught correctly and handled correctly i think football is inherently a safe game, and its been proven to be safe for youth age football 4 to eighth grade type football. As you get older, the they weigh the players when you are younger, and you dont put a 50 pound kid against a 200 pound kid. Its later that it becomes an issue. Your thoughts on it, michael . I think weve celebrated the violence in the game for a long time, and so its a violent game. Its become increasingly violent in the last decade, i think, and i think what happens at the professional level filters down to the junior levels, and were now seeing some of the consequences of that. Do you have a boy . I do. Would you allow him to play football . Probably not. Jonathan, i know you have dogs. Not kids. Right. You are a navy seal. You have had head injuries just the same, so you say what to this . I think the biggest problem that i can speak to, one, in football, especially nfl, its very similar and the type of injuries that you are going to have in the seal teams or in the military, and i think one of the biggest things that i see especially with High School Football is that the administrators and coaches and players are not trained on what to look for because the players are not going to admit that they have an injury. Thats the same way it was in the military. You are going to get taken out if you admit it. Chris, do you agree with that . I do. Look, i played the game. You know, i have had my fair share of bumps and bruises, and i am the first to admit, we dont say when were hurt. Why would you . You dont want to come off the field. The field is everything. So when can we expect these meetings to happen that will be inclusive . Well, its on demand.
