That is the subject of this evenings talking points memo. As you may know, mit professor dr. Jonathan gruber had said some very interesting things about the affordable healthcare law. Lets run them down. Dr. Gruber says in order to pay for obamacare, you have to impose a new tax on americans. He also says the Obama Administration did not want to admit additional taxation was necessary, so it hid that part of the equation. The doctor opines little transparency in the run up to the vote obamacare and then the mit professor really lit the fuse saying that americans are generally too stupid to figure out what the obamacare situation really is. Jupv so i will let you decide on the credibility of the last statement. Gruber for telling the truth but i also believe he was an active participant in a big con. So, on the one hand he is truthful. Other hand he is deceptive. Dr. Gruber appeared on the factor last year. He was honest. There is no doubt there is contribution of this law, bill, you can like it or not. And thats a debate for another day. Well, there was also a large distribution of taxpayer money to dr. Gruber. About 6 million bucks. In consulting fees. Doctor to keep quiet when he heard this. No matter how we reform healthcare i intend to keep this promise. If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. If you like your healthcare plan, you will be able to keep your healthcare plan. Coupled with comprehensive reform this could result in our Nation Saving over 2 trillion over the next 10 years and that could save families 2,500 in the coming years. 2,500 per family. What the president did there are with the 2,500 stat was compare the average cost of Health Insurance now today to what it might have been years from now with no obamacare. What it might have been. Thats called comparing the cold5qy4s truth is most working americans are paying more for Health Insurance under obamacare while millions of other americans are getting free Health Insurance. Thats then quasisocialistic programs work. There is no questions this whole gruber deal has been a major embarrassment for president obama and the folks are backing away from the federal healthcare law. According to a recent gallup poll only 37 currently like it. If the republicans imagine to elect a president in 2016, obamacare likely to be repealed. Even before that, talking points believes the Supreme Court will strike down major parts of the law. And part of the reason i believe that is because dr. Do you agree with me the Supreme Court is watching this . I dont know that they are watching gruber. Is he not going to make an impact on the case thats pending before them. But he has already admitted on camera with respect to that specific case that the situation is as those who are challenging the law claim it is. Thats a case of the government is really in danger on. The law is really in danger on. Typical with gruber in more candid moments behind the scenes. He admits that the argument being made by the challengers to the law is the right argument. That they are correct in what they are asserting. And then, of course, once the legal challenge got brought he said all that stuff i said, forget about that. Its not that way at all. So i can understand it and you know how dense i can be. What is the primary argument in the Supreme Court . The argument is that obamacare was set up such that you could only get a subsidy to help you with your premium. By the state. If you signed up through your state. Right. And yet all these states said. We dont want it. We dont wan they contradicted their own law. Now those people are not supposed to be allowed to have subsidies. They did that intentionally because they wanted to guilt people. Threaten them. Scare them into signing up under their state exchanges and scare the states into setting it up. And the state said we are not scared. We are north doing it. Do you mean to sit there and tell me you dont believe the Supreme Court justices, the nine intelligent people. I dont think they watch cable news and thats the only place you would know about it. I know i am. You think . I know. I have run into them. A number of them. I sat next to Justice Scalia at the correspondents dinner. He knows because. I ran into justice. Knew who you were before that day they dont watch cable news and if you dont watch fox news you wouldnt know about gruber right now because there had been a blackout. Go wide with it on sunday. Authorization to about 800,000 young immigrants who are right here, chirm known as the dreamers, there is 800,000. He did that in june of 2012. They cant get a pell grant to go to college. They cannot. Obviously we are raisingqz oury to help them, but from private sick sector. There wont be any government benefits. Even the background check they have to pay. The documentation, in order to get that work permit probably be around 500. There cannot be a cent of tax dollar money used even in granting them the Work Authorization. They must pay for it out of their pocket. There is two things in play here. Number one, you know as well as anybody once this gets out a flood of people coming in here. Try to get in here. So i dont know if the federal government is prepared for that flood, but thats coming. Number two, number two, i mean, two big things, some people arent going to sign up. You must document and there are going to be certain documents authorized by the federal government. You note over have to thats why the president is going to go back five years. Prove you were here in 20, 2013, 2012. If you dont signif up, if you dont send the print. You stay here and work illegally, what happens to you . No. Listen. You stay in the same condition you were. If president obama did go through proper channels and congress and you were sitting in congress, would you want for what he wants to do. Having a border thats not secure is a National Security, Homeland Security issue. And until we resolve that, the congress shouldnt be taking anything else up until we actually protect our borders. Louis captain ron johnson of the Missouri State highway patrol. You were a major figure in calming things down last august. What do you see happening now, captain . Well, i think we have got a community thats ready to show their character. We meet with several groups. Several individuals. And were seeing people that definitely will be out protesting whatever the decision is. And they are gersing their Constitutional Rights. But i also see a lot more communication that this region has had in a long time. Bad um there. You know that new black panther party. Communists, anarchists out there. You know, i know you want a dialogue with them, but you know as well as i do that they want to cause trouble. So, we talked to the police cleve in st. Louis last night. He has intel on these groups. And i assume the state police do as well. Yes. And were not going to tolerate any violence. Were not going to let any group come in and take away the Constitutional Rights of protesters or hurt our prot6aaqaip c c our any group can come in and if they are peaceful, then they can be here and they wont have any issue with law enforcement. I know, but last time you tried to get it under control wasnt easy. And time there are more of them out there. They are harder core. Going to be tolerated but you have to arrest them. There is going to be some violence particularly if the grand jury says were not going to indict the officer. And i am just worried that this dont shoot coalition which have you been talking to extensively. In fact, you have agreed to some of their demands, correct . Yes. They gave us 19 points. They want us to consider. We have gone over those points. There is about 12 points that we agree with. That we can come some understanding. We will sit and continue to work on those and talk to that group and other groups. Now, if the grand jury does indict the officer, then there wouldnt be any reason to protest, right . Well, i think no matter what the grand jury comes back with, there will be some emotions. We will still protesters that will come out because they are protesting a lot of things. They are protesting for change. There is a lot of things that have come out of the Michael Brown jr. Incident. All right. So thats an interesting point. So its much more than just the shooting incident for some of these protesters. Do you have any idea what the percentage of protesters now in and around ferguson are from outofstate, not in the community . Well, in the recent week, a lot of the outoftown protesters have gone home. We do expect that they will come back. Actual numbers i cant give. But we did have a large number of outoftown protesters that came into the community. Are they bused in . Were seeing buses. We are seeing vans. Just car loads. Organized attempt to get these people to come to ferguson for a certain purpose . Yes. Its very organized. All right. So it is crossing state lines. That means the federal authorities have to be involved. Mobilized by the governor of missouri. Do you have any idea what their role is going to be . They are going to help us protect our businesses. For us. To make sure we got we have the proper resources to make sure that the public is safe and the businesses are maintained. Maintained. They think an innocent black kid was shot by a racist white cop. The facts are irrelevant. They have already reached a verdict. So, there are going to be places that emphasize that angle. I dont have a problem with emphasizing the angle of activists who think that an injustice was done. I have a problem when journalists dontjx. Fn challenge that person. There was one i understand that msnbc is a footnote in all of this, but there was a person on msnbc who pretty much said that black kids are fair game in america these days, something we have heard too many times. If she wants to say that, thats one thing. But the host sat there like a the toed plant. Like a mime. You have to challenge statements like that. A News Organization would do that. I was disappointed to see congressman john lewis, who was a real hero in the civil rights people know congressmans back ground. He certainly is. Come out and say the officer wilson is guilty. Thats what he flat out said. He is guilty. And when i saw that, louis didnt say that in so many words. But he said if he isnt indicted, all right, if wilson isnt prosecuted, then it will be a terrible miscarriage of justice, which is basically saying he is guilty. Because if the evidence columns many out that the officer defended himself. That there was enough evidence. Physical evidence to show that mr. Brown attacked the officer and all the things that are needed for selfdefense proposal. And you have a sitting congressman who has a lot of sway in the africanamerican precincts saying you know what you . Are guilty. And that kind of thing, thats not going to be challenged by the liberal press i am not ashamed to say in the old days weighs one of the great americans that we had. He was truly a great american. But, statements like that by such an important person, somebody i bet you rightlynn,i say has clout in africanamerican precincts, that cant do anybody any good because what it is saying is the very definition of justice is a, an indictment, b, a trial, and c a conviction. Anything less is injustice. Thats a dangerous game to play. And our system doesnt work. Our grand jury system doesnt work. And, you know, it was in the bag. And all of that. Because thats what you are going to hear. Finally, these anarchists and get it from fox news. They get it from conservative media the liberal media doesnt come down on them. They are not pariahs in these areas. Bill, the other day we talked about the absence offed me attention to jonathan gruber. Let me apply what i1cf about that to your question. This guy assaulted this girl. She went away for three years only about 16 months. They didnt fire him then, bill. They didnt fire him when he said that kind of thing in the courtroom. They fired him when spoke to l. A. Radio station teacher was convicted of what. The teacher was convicted of the child rape and molestation back in 2011 three years that was the maximum at that time. And then in 2013, lewd acts against the child. 2013, this lawyer, successfully represented the School District, got him off clean on this. A 102 jury decision to not hold the School District responsible using this exact theory that he just espoused in that radio interview. The girl the girl got nothing. Nothing. Emotional distress anything like that. Civil case. Same thing said in this. Attorney was successful in defending the district, why would they fire him . Because now they are embarrassed by these comments that he is making. Embarrassed about what they did behind closed doors. Not about the strategy that saved them money. Thats the problem. We called and tried to get a comment from them. And what we didnt really know what his strategy was going to be or, you know, we were sure when we were actually apprised of the strategy.
