Now the forecast to track continues to run up along coast perhaps bufferining into the cost a little bit and weakening it. We do have a Little Information that department of education gave sarasota go ahead open and in person remote or Virtual Learning programs, and this is essentially appears to be at least from what im seeing a parental choice. Your thoughtings on this plan of reopening. Thank you. Thank you very much for having me and i really appreciate it. I just want to be clear of the outset as mayor of the city of sarasota i dont actually have and we as commission dont have Decision Making authority over the school board. Theyre an independent board so they make their own decision and we coordinate with the school board as with other government boards and entities. And, in fact, we did reach out our administration reached out to their administration to see if there was something to do from our end to help them for example if they needed extra space we have Municipal Auditorium we needed them and that we would be happy to coordinate to work with them. To answer your question, in opening we just had a, you know, a conversation with sarasota Memorial Hospitals, group, they have an Ad Hoc Advisory Group and they are constantly monitoring researching situation for sarasota, and i know that the school board will be meeting next week as well and ironing out some of the details, and they do have a plan in place. It does comprise three options for parents. And you know, i do believe also that they are flexible should Something Else come up. And there are other options available through them. Molly what are you hearing from your constituents . If a child does go back for that in person introduction the district says that they plan to mandate face masks not unusual it is also similar to other plans all across various cities and across the country. But what are you hearing for your from your constituents regarding these three options . Im hearing a lot of concern from parents. You know, and it is from both ends from their parents who cant imagine sending their children back to school. Either they have, they are at risk themselves or they have family members at home that are at risk, and they just dont want to risk it because numbers are so high here in florida. And then i have parents who have no choice. Either two working parents or Single Parents that are working, or parents that are working in the essential services industry. And they really have no choice. And so i think that when the school board sent out their survey, they have a roughly 43,000 students in the system. They only received about 60 just barely 60 of the results back. So theyre making decisions based on only 60 of a survey they would really like the rest of the parents, the remaining 40 to continue filling out survey so they can have a better representation. And also our numbers here are rising we cannily. It is quite concerning, the doctors at sarasota Memorial Hospital are very concerned about our situation. But i do believe that the school board is going to try to be flexible as they can. And try to take all of the Important Information into consideration. I dont think anything is written in stone. But they do have a plan in place at the moment.
