does the millennial vote even matter when you stack up democrats, hillary clinton blows bernie sanders out of the water, 62% to 30% among democrats. so, does this millennial vote really matter, sal? >> i think it does. i think it matters in both parties and i think this time around millennials are going to cause upsets in both parties when it comes at least to the iowa caucus. if you look at the cbs poll she loses millennials by over 50 points to bernie sanders. in that same poll 80% -- over 80% of millennials are enthusiastic and say they're going to come out and vote in the iowa caucus. now we know that millennials say they're going to vote. but a lot of times they don't show up. so if you go back to 2014, and say, you know, 35% of millennials showed up, you have a lot to worry about because there's 70,000 registered young democrats in the state of iowa. so if you have about 35% of those show up you're looking at about 24,000 votes. which is a lot in the state of iowa, and can bring sanders into a photo finish. >> why is this strategy maybe not helping hillary clinton. >> i've seen some critics say look it's because it seemed forced. she's not comfortable doing these sorts of things and she probably had staff members telling her she needs to go on these type of shows. is that what it is? lack of authenticity? >> i think that's a lack of authenticity. everything spills forth. and i don't think it's a lack of likability. i think democrats do like hillary. i think it comes to a relatability issue. i think also it's her policies. bernie sanders was pretty opposite or pretty more far left than hillary clinton is on a lot of issues. she's not going to change her policies and i think that's where the disconnect is with millennials. they prefer bernie sanders' more socialistic policies than hers. >> what are those millennials saying? those who support bernie sanders, when you talk to them, what are they saying about hillary clinton? because she ends up winning and getting the nomination, are they going to go over to her camp or just stay home and not vote? >> exactly. i think what you're going to see, you're going to see a low youth vote turnout or you're going to see candidates, you know, whoever ends up being on the republican side, an outsider candidate, bringing a lot of those independent millennials over to the republican party. which is the key to winning the white house. and i think that a lot of millennials are looking for that outsider candidate, because that's what they saw in barack obama in 2008 was the outside. and he didn't really deliver on a lot of his promises so i think they'll go again with another outsider in 2016. >> hmm. 2016. about a month now. the iowa caucuses. sal, great to see you this morning. happy new year to you. >> happy new year, thanks. coming up here on the show, were you offended this year?
