How much is he willing to help the Trump Campaign Going Forward . Some of the key questions we will put to the chair. On the democratic side. Bernie sanders keeping hope alive after pulling off a win in indiana, but Hillary Clintons delegate lead, really all but insurmountable. What is the next step in this primary battle . Cnn senior washington correspondent joe johns is live in washington with the latest. Good morning, joe. Reporter good morning, john. A lot of buzz right now. The headline is, it was a big night for Bernie Sanders. It keeps his campaign on the trail, though the numbers in the race for the nomination continue to work against him. [ cheers ] reporter Bernie Sanders pupping off a stunning upset victory in indiana over democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton. Joe, thank you very much. We have so much to discuss. Lets bring in our panel. Cnn political analyst and host of the David Gregory show podcast, david greigry. Washington correspondent for the daily beast and maeve reston. Guys, 11 months ago this wild ride started when donald trump came on to the National Stage with this crazy, some people thought in the media, announcement, and here we are. Predictable. We did not predict this. This is now a reality. So what a remarkable day, david. An incredible day and incredible accomplishment for donald trump who is the ultimate outsider and in an antiestablishment year. What hes done is remarkable. A very accomplished republican field that he simply blew away, and capping it off in indiana. And he now controls the Republican Party as the presumptive nominee as an incredibly divisive figure, huge negatives, toxic policy procedurals. Remember, this is still a candidate who believes that barack obama, the president of the United States, was not born in america. He is a birther. He says that president bush, republican president , lied to the country about iraq. He wants to ban muslims from the country. He wants to mass deport 12 million illegal immigrants. Quite a mix in our republican nominee for the country. But the history. Right . The first nonpolitician since dwight eisenhower, First Business person since wendell wilkey. Were waking up pretending its a norm many wednesday. But its not. This is history. The question what the hell happens now . Right . Reince priebus put out a tweet saying donald trump will be the presumptive nominee. We all need to unite and focus on defeating Hillary Clinton. Just because Reince Priebus tweets it doesnt mean its so. Reince priebus tweets have meant a lot so far. I think he just lost any shred of power he had in the party because now theres a presumptive nominee and to davids point, the divisiveness is just inside the Republican Party. When you looked at twitter, several prominent republicans saying they were switching parties or done with the Republican Party. One that i saw was burning his registration card. So there is some real discontent within that party, and so it will be interests to watch how and if donald trump can unite them before even Going Forward into a general. Examples of that. People tweeting out. Wellknown conservatives. Talk radio host, theres goes my time as a republican. Will change Party Affiliation tomorrow. Frankly i feel relieved to do it, free, even. Then there was ben howe if cruz concedes tonight im no longer a republican. Endorses trump, im running for president in 2020. And remark, selter, everyone knows was a speechwriter or john mccain, nominate for president a guy who reads the enquirer. Im with her. Hes going to vote for Hillary Clinton. Amazing. Being on the road with him, amazing to try to accept that reality. I think that whats so fascinating also last night is in ted cruzs speech, you saw all of that divisivenesse. No word of reaching out to donald trump. Didnt mention his name. He didnt mention his name and after this incredible press conference yesterday where he called him a pathological liar, a serial philanderer. The idea that somehow donald trump is going to be able to co cobble together a coalition to defeat Hillary Clinton is an open question. David, just a week ago ted cruz named his running mate, carly fiorina. He was saying even if he didnt win indiana he would go on, deny trump. Then this precipitous suspension or dropping out last night . I go back to what i think is the bold stroke here in analysis of this race which is donald trump is the ultimate antiestablishment figure in an antiestablishment year. Ted cruz had support way too na narrow. Look at the states beyond the evangelical christians, his core base within the Republican Party, he really didnt have much traction. He was arguing a lot of social issues in indiana when we see from the exit polls economy was the huge issue. Donald trump has been Pitch Perfect about a very clear message. About economic malaise, people left out of Even Economic recovery. Thats where hes been so strong and he was in indiana again. The question is, where does he get the rest of the party to unite around him . On what issues . Right . Whether its the economy. Hes antitrade. He bucks the Republican Party. On foreign affairs, certainly does on immigration he does. Hard to see where he brings people together. We should have a new poll out, im pretty sure im not breaking the em barge e. One issue dbd donald trump is leading Hillary Clinton, on the economy. The trade issue is one that played big in indiana. One that Bernie Sanders is using against Hillary Clinton. Is that something you see in the exit polls . People worried about the economy. They voted for donald trump. Is this can he keep it focused there and none on ted cruz being in a picture with Lee Harvey Oswald . Theres the ridiculous and then the focus that voters want to see. I dont think donald trump ditches the ridiculous. I dont think its in him to cast aside conspiracy theories, because it plays well to the people that like him. So i dont see that going away. Particularly the people he surrounded himself with. Sort of indulge in that sort of thing. He met with ed klein, writes Hillary Clinton fan fiction. Conspiracy theories. Yeah. Theres that. But the focus on the economy, thats why you see him coopting Bernie Sanders message in ways. He actually cites Bernie Sanders and that will likely continue as well. Thats going to be his best hope of winning here. When we look at the general election matchups, trump right now, not doing so well against Hillary Clinton, and you have to start thinking about the map. I mean, the fact that he has talked about immigration in such a toxic way as david said. What does that mean . Does he write off colorado, nevada . How does he reach out to those latino voters . Does the race just become fought in the rust belt, in those midwest states that republicans hoped to turn for a long time, like michigan, but have struggled. And theres five or six states you wonder can he make a red state out of a blue state . 27 in indiana said they would never vote for donald trump. Hillary clinton faces that on the left as well who would never vote for Hillary Clinton as democrats. Thats going to be a key thing for trump to attack. Last night was painful for ted cruz and his supporters, and literally for his wife. There was this horrible moment where he was suspending his campaign, or dropping out, and he was hugging his dad, and heidi cruz was trying to get in on the hug and ended up accidentally sort of clocking her with his head. First of all, god bless her for sort of taking it on the chin, so to speak, and not punching him back, which i might have involuntarily done, and its just such a god, what a moment. I mean, for the supporters who were shocked he was getting out. Heidi cruz has had such a difficult time over the last couple of months. I mean, donald trump really targeted her, you know, tweeting that picture of his wife up against her. I mean, shes just had and been out on the campaign trail being one of the most effective surrogates for her husband. She actually did help warm him up a little bit. I mean, ted cruz was so disliked, and so it really was a painful moment to watch. Ive got to say, campaigns are so obliterating of things. Physically and emotionally exhausting, psychologically exhausting. I feel bad about picking on the cruzs for that a little bit. I dont want to pick on them. I want to say that this is i dont want to use it as a metaphor, but it is. To see that picture, im like, ah its a rough night. A rough night. Horrible. Alisyn pals, stick around. More to talk about, you know. Coming up, Republican Party Reince Priebus joins us live here on new day. What does he say this morning . Plus, our wolf blitzer will speak to the man that Reince Priebus says will be the Presumptive Republican nominee. Donald trump will be on the situation room, in the situation room, all around the situation room. The interview at 5 00 p. M. Eastern time right here on cnn. Bernie sanders vowing to stay in the race after beating Hillary Clinton in indiana. Even though he has mathematically eliminated from reaching the delegate threshold. Shut your mouth and say goodnight, mouthbreathers. Breathe right. All right. Bernie sanders hoping to turn his indiana victory into some kind of momentum, but the math says all but essentially impossible to catch Hillary Clinton in the delegate race. So where does this fight go from he here . Bringing back our political panel. Maeve, start with you this time. Before we talk about the mantle that Bernie Sanders really cant win the nomination, lets give him credit for winning indiana, which he did. So it means what . It means he still has a lot of leverage as we head towards the convention system. You think about how far Bernie Sanders has drawn Hillary Clinton to the left in this race even on a lot of her positions. He can continue to argue that hell be able to flip super dell guidell delegates. And i think he will have a lot of power to drive his agenda are particularly because of his support among young voters, who Hillary Clinton will need. So frustrating for his supporters because he wins these states, and you hear the media the next day, but he has no chance of becoming the nominee. Even he last night was explaining, once again, his path how he thinks he can do it. So listen to this. I think that as more and more delegates to the Democratic Convention take a hard look at which candidate is generating the kind of enthusiasm, excitement voter turnout that we need to make sure that somebody like a donald trump does not become president , i think youre going to see more and more delegates concluding that that candidate is Bernie Sanders. Okay. Can he bring more delegates away from hillary and to him . Its certainly hypothetical. Doesnt look like it. Havent seen anyone do it yet. Talking about it a while. No one said i was with her and now im with him. That hasnt happened. When you talk to democrats who are not on the Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton campaign, a lot of them will say that Hillary Clinton is their best shot and now theres a target. Now its not donald trump or ted cruz. Now its donald trump. I wanted to talk about a positive first but i giveith and now takeith away. Look at the math. Look at the delegates. Bernie sanders needs to win 101 of the remaining pledged delegates in order to clinch the nomination. Thats because so many super delegates have lined up for Hillary Clinton. If he cant flip the super delegates, he cant win. It is now his only path to the nomination. Again, i dont think this is about a path to the nomination. I think shes only certainly the nominee of the democratic party, but he does expose waeeaknesses that Hillary Clinton has. Indiana was a state barack obama won. Good for the party at this point . No. Probably not good for party or from the point of view of Hillary Clinton and a lot of her supporters but he has a constituency, a reason to run and a lot of passion behind him and a message that still resonates and more momentum to be gained here before the primary calendar is done. By the way, he won democrats last night. If im not mistaken. He won the democrats in the state of indiana which is something he has not done in other contests. Hes had to rely on independents and others. Gives his supporters enthusiasm to keep going. Talk about independents. Won mutually. 72 in polls of independents over her 28 . She needs independents to win. I mean, in november. So what does that say . I mean, and that shows how much shes going to need Bernie Sanders to really get behind her, if she ultimately does win the nomination. Right now its very difficult to look at the general election matchups and figure out exactly how this race might go, if its Hillary Clinton versus donald trump, but she is definitely going to have to do more to appeal to independents at a time when she has been drawn so far to the left. Youve heard, donald trump already, his people, already saying theyre going to reach out to Bernie Sanders supporter, reach out to these people embracing this antiestablishment message saying antitrade. Exactly. In that diagram there is gray between the two and theyre banking on tharchlts agat. And the people who said theyll never vote for Hillary Clinton. Sheet have an easy time, although none a completely easy time, build sing supporters. Youd rather be in Hillary Clintons position relative to donald trump but she still face as slog in terms of getting there. And you dont know how many independents. Look at the slog. Look at the calendar coming up over the next several weeks. West virginia, kentucky and oregon on the 17th. States where Bernie Sanders could and should do well. He may very well win the next three primaries. Which gives more momentum. That 18 number, definitely would not vote for her. Democrats saying they would not vote for on. On the indiarepublican side in indiana, 4 . What do you think about reaching out 0 Bernie Sanders supporters . An exodus . We shouldnt be in the business of predicting impact, trumps impact, because weve been wrong so many times before pshgs but if our friend Ron Brownstein were here, hed say, barack obama won amongst independents and still won the general, too. The daunting thing for trump, wins all white male vote admit romney did in 2012, he would need 58 of white women, a tall standing with white women and women in general. Married women, mitt romney actually won in 2012. We dont know how many independents he could potentially bring in, turn out this fall. Where we have to be careful in predicting. Panel. Thank you. Thats donald trump turning his attention to the general election in a likely race against Hillary Clinton in a just released cnn orc pollit shows clinton leading trump in a general election matchup. Her biggest lead since last summer. We discuss with maggie haggerman, our cnn political analyst and president ial Campaign Correspondent for the new york times. Maggie, great to have you here. Thanks for having me. Lets take a moment to just re reflect this morning. Donald trump, you have covered him for many years. 11 months when he announced he was getting into the race, many people, pundits, thought it would be short lived. He is now the presumptive nominee. Its quite a moment, as somebody who authored a piece very early on suggesting he could never win a state. I have to say, im pretty surprised. Its a little less shocking over the last few months, because we saw him win New Hampshire very big and then he won south carolina. Two states that republicans, or democrats, tend to capture and then go on to become the nominee. He has had a tougher path because of this attempt at a stop trump movement, which im not clear how much oomph there actually ever was behind it. Sort of a lot of smoke, not much fire. He has accomplished something you have to give him credit for. Absolutely. And a little early for a matchup between Hillary Clinton and donald trump because the race has been so hard to predict. But there is a lead for her by 13 points. Interestingly, Bernie Sanders makes the case that he is the most winning candidate. This is what he said again last night, because his lead over donald trump is even bigger. Is this something moving forward . It is Hillary Clinton as the nominee moving forward and the delegate math is simply not on Bernie Sanders side still without super delegates if the race is what we assume. It will be Hillary Clinton versus donald trump both going in with historically high negatives but trumps are higher. You generally win with the better positive rating. I agree with you there is an unpredictability about this political climate, how angry the electorate is and some is not cutting across ideological lines from what you see in sanders and Trump Supporters, trump making overtures towards sanders supporters over the last several days, but a primary electorate is not the same as a general electorate and its important to remember that. Politics makes strange bedfellows, its been said, and it also makes strange breakups. We saw this host of tweets sent out by conservative republicans last night after Donald Trumps victory. Let me show some for you. The managing eder of the washington examiner. Officially deregistered. And red state conservative website, imwithher. Willing to vote for Hillary Clinton over donald trump. He says, i am not longer a republican. Thats all happening at the same time donald trump is bringing more people into the tent. How does that shake out . Interesting. How many new voters trump brings in in the fall. We have seen him bring in new voters who voted against him, certainly in the earlier states. So its not clear how that will break down. There is also this group of people who are, you know, nevertrump, as you see on twitter and going a step further saying, imwithher voting for Hillary Clinton. Not necessarily the same things. It will be an interesting couple of weeks seeing if people step back from the precipice and saying we want to help, defeat Hillary Clinton. And defies the Republican Party . Yes. He both owns it and defines it. Run in spite of 2 ait and now i taking it over. Age major issue how he brings the Party Together and how consistent in the new tone Going Forward. And Hillary Clinton, when people asked in exit polls what the Biggest Issue is, they say the economy. And when you pull up how he does against her on every issue, terrorism, immigration, income gap, health care, she wins. But on the economy, the number one issue, he beats her. Its a significant issue. It is a number one voting issue for people. If the economy continues to do well and she is tethering herself to president obama as we have seen that will probably help her. I think how president obama and the economy does will be a major financial marketer. You major factor. Look, trump is presenting himself as the mr. Fix it and doing it in very sort of easy to digest terms. You know, i can do this. Ive done this. Ive run a business. Im going to bring back jobs, and to some extent, just that simple statement is something voters want to hear. Well see. Always great to talk to you. Thanks for sharing your reporting always with us. Over to john. Thanks, alisyn. Donald trump savoring his resounding victory in indiana. It looks like there was one issue that put him on top in that state. Well talk about that next on new day. Killed in iraq identified. What were learning about the coordinated attack that took his life. At ally bank, no branches equals great rates. Its a fact. Kind of like vacations equal getting carried away. More proactive selling. What do you think michal . I agree. Lets get out there. Lets meet these people. Dondont go to la, dont go to tokyo. Live there. Come in, come in when you airbnb, you have your own home. Make your bed. Cook. You know, the stuff you normally do. Wherever you go. Dont go there. Live there. Even if its just for a night. Once i left the hospital after a dvt blood clot. What about my wife. What were building together. And could this happen again . I was given warfarin in the hospital, but wondered, was this the best treatment for me . I spoke to my doctor and she told me about eliquis. Eliquis treats dvt and pe blood clots and reduces the risk of them happening again. Not only does eliquis treat dvt and pe blood clots. But eliquis also had significantly less major bleeding than the standard treatment. Knowing eliquis had both. Turned around my thinking. Dont stop eliquis unless you doctor tells you to. Eliquis can cause serious, and in rare cases, fatal bleeding. Dont take eliquis if you have an artificial heart valve or abnormal bleeding. If you had a spinal injection while on eliquis call your doctor right away if you have tingling, numbness, or muscle weakness. While taking eliquis, you may bruise more easily. And it may take longer than usual for bleeding to stop. Seek immediate medical care for sudden signs of bleeding, like unusual bruising. Eliquis may increase your bleeding risk if you take certain medicines. Tell your doctor about all planned medical or dental procedures. Eliquis treats dvt pe blood clots. Plus had less major bleeding. Both made switching to eliquis right for me. Ask your doctor if its right for you. New details now with the complex and coordinated isis attack that claimed the life of a u. S. Navy s. E. A. L. In iraq. Officials say some 100 isis fighters carried out the attack that killed Charles Keating iv. Hes the third u. S. Combat casualty since the u. S. Redeployed forces in iraq in 2014. Joining us from baghdad, spokesman for the antiisis coalition interact and Operation Inherent resolve colonel steve warren. Thank you so much for being with us this morning. First off, what can you tell us about Charles Keating iv. Well, john, thank you for having me. It was bad day for us here yesterday. Our thoughts and our prayers are, of course, with this Service Members family and loved ones. Yesterday morning here in baghdad, about 9 00 a. M. , about 9 00, 9 30 a. M. , there was an attack, in a part of iraq, northern iraq, actually north of mosul. This was a coordinated isil attack where they attempted to seize this village. Its only a small village. At that time, some of our american advisers happened to be in that village discussing future plans with the peshmerga who were there. So when the enemy came through, the forward lines that attacked that town, our Service Member was right in the thick of it. Defense secretary ash carter called this a combat death, yet the white house said this was not a combat mission. Is this a distinction that matters . What is the distinction . This was certainly a combat death. This soldier as well as many other soldiers have been conducting their combat mission here in iraq. I think the distinction is what is not happening here in iraq right now is what we would think of as major combat operations. This is not 2004. This is not 2008, when we had a large, a large american presence here conducting offensive maneuver operations in an effort to take and hold ground. What we have now is several thousand american advisers, american trainers, and some facilitators here helping the iraqi army take back their own country. I think thats the difference. They were in this town north of mosul under the protection of the peshmerga. You know, the Kurdish Militia connected to iraqs main army. Is the peshmerga up to the task . Do you have concerns about the peshmergas ability to keep u. S. Military personnel safe . We dont have concerns about the peshmerga. They are up for the task. They have, in fact, fought very well over the last 20 months. They are one of the, if not the, best fighting force here in iraq. The Iraqi Counterterrorist Service being the other one. So these are good fighters. Weve partnered with them for many years. We understand their capabilities. They understand ours. John, this was this was one of the things that happens in these conflict zones. This was a determined enemy who punched through the lines suddenly and was able to create a little bit of a ruckus back in the peshmerga rear area. Its important to note, too, that all of the systems that we have in place to deal with these, sprang into quick force. The number of americans moved into position to assist. The medevac birds laid on got to this Service Member and had him at a hospital within the famous golden hour, that important onehour time from when one is hit until one gets to higher Level Medical care. Unfortunately, the wound was just not survivable. It was a very tough situation. But we feel like our partners, the peshmerga, are up for the task. Look, we have the best of the best in iraq right now. Advising and assisting, but it does create confusion lehere in the United States. Were told were not involved in combat over in the middle east right now. We thought we were through all of our troops, yet were seeing casualties there, yet we are seeing people very much in harms way. What would you tell the American People about the environment that some 4,000 troops now in the region, the dangers they face . Right. And the confusion is very understandable and very justifiable. What i would tell people is this there is an enemy here in iraq and in syria called the islamic state, and these are the determined enemy. This is an enemy that wants to attack us at home. They want to attack our allies, our friends and partners in europe. They have already conducted more than 60 terrorist attacks in 21 countries around the world. Theyve caused more than 1,000 casualties outside of iraq and syria. These are bad guys, and they need to be stopped. So were helping our partners, the iraqis, and we are helping our partners the syrian moderate opposition to do just that. Two defeat this enemy and were doing it in a place that is very dangerous. And there will be casualties. This is something we have to accept. Were doing it with devastating air power. There have been thousands and thousands of air strikes launched around this region. Every one of those pilots is in danger every time he or she takes off. Its important to note we are in a dangerous place here but doing it for a very important reason. This is an enemy that wants to come get us. We mourn the loss of Charlie Keating along with you. Corner, thank you very much for being with us. Thank you, john. Its my pleasure. A lot of news this morning, including an interview with the head of the Republican National committee. This following Donald Trumps big win in indiana. Let get right to it. We gave it everything weve got. The voters chose another path. What ted did is really a very brave thing to do. A great thing to do. Donald trump or Hillary Clinton, either one of which is a horrific choice. Hillary clinton, she will be a poor president. This country could well plunge into the abyss. We started this campaign way behind. Nobody would have dreamed we would be winning elections. Im really focused on moving into the general election. This is an uphill battle. We are in this race to win. We cannot allow ourselves to be divided against one another. The objective evidence is that i am the strongest candidate. Announcer this is new day with chris cuomo and alisyn camerota. Good morning, everyone. Welcome to your new day, and what a day it is. Donald trump scoring a gamechanging historic win in indiana. The chairman the Republican National committee declaring trump will be the partys presumptive nominee after ted cruz dropped out of the race. We will speak to the head of the Republican National committee in moments. Over on the democratic side, Bernie Sanders upsetting Hillary Clinton in the hoosier state. The delegate math is in clintons favor. Trump and clinton, now all but certain to faceoff in november. We have the race covered the way only cnn can. Lets begin with john berman with last nights results and these delegates score card. John . Good morning, alisyn. What a night for donald trump delivering a knockout blow to ted cruz in indiana. Look at this. Nearly a 17point margin in the state ted cruz felt he had to win. He didnt. Hes gone. On the democratic side, look at this. Bernie sanders pulled off a fivepoint win over Hillary Clinton in that state. The Clinton Campaign eager to point out she didnt spend any money there, only campaigned one day there in the last week. Nevertheless, a win is a win. Bernie sanders got it by five points. What does that mean for delegates . A different story. Bernie sanders edging out Hillary Clinton 4338. Nets five delegates. Not enough to make a serious dent in Hillary Clintons very large delegate lead. On the republican side, donald trump with what looks like a clean sweep. 51 delegates for him so far. Ted cruz with zero. John kasich with zero. Do not be surprised if donald trump ends up with all 57 delegates in the state bringing donald trump the total number 1,053, getting ever closer to the 1,237 he needs. You see how far ted cruz is back from him. Hes out of the race and john kasich the only one left. You cant see it, marco rubio. He dropped out and john kasich is still trailing him. On the democratic side, Hillary Clinton with a very, very big delegate lead. Nor than 2,200. Bernie sanders less than 1,500. Only needs 18 4 to get over the top. Hillary clinton 3 million votes more than Bernie Sanders. E hear that a lot from the Clinton Campaign. Donald trump, hes moving up in the total numbers as well. Hes got 10,6 million 600,000. If donald trump keeps up the pace he could end up with more republican votes than any primary candidate in decades. John, helps to see the exact numbers. Thank you for walking us through that. Donald trump will become the Republican Partys presumptive nominee. Sara murraydo joins us with how the race has changed. Hi. Last night donald trump calmed it an unbelievable win and in many ways it really is nearly a year after jumping in the race. A billionaire businessman with nearly no political experience has knocked aside ted cruz and now is the Presumptive Republican nominee. The voters chose another path. Reporter ind iana marks the end of the road for ted cruz. We are suspending our campaign. Reporter and a major victory for donald trump as he becomes the Republican Partys presumptive nominee. What ted did is really a very brave thing to do. We want to bring unity to the Republican Party. Reporter after months of battling it out with the rnc. Its all a rigged system. Its really a disgusting system. Reporter the billionaire final he getting a message of support from the very top. Party chairman Reince Priebus tweeting, trump will be the presumptive nominee. We all need to unite and focus on defeating Hillary Clinton. Now, theres only one other candidate refusing to leave the race. I love california. Reporter john kasichs chief strategist tweeting, until someone has 1,237 bound delegates, there is no presumptive nominee. California, here we come. But trump is largely ignoring the Ohio Governor now focusing squarely on the general election. Were going after Hillary Clinton. She will not be a great president. She will not be a good president. She will be a poor president. Reporter trump solidifying his position at the top just hours after this litany of attacks from cruz. This man is a pathological liar. Donald trump is a serial philanderer. The man is utterly amoral. Donald is a bully. Reporter after a rufr aough tumble day on the trail, trump adopt add friendlier tone in his victory speech. I dont know if he likes me or doesnt like me but he is one hell of a competitor. A of you it, smart guy. Reporter if trump was hoping for an endorsement, he may have a long wait. I am not suspending our fight for liberty. Our movement will continue. Reporter now, it may be a little tough for donald trump to mend fences with ted cruz, especially after attacking the candidates wife as well as his father. For now, trump has an even taller order, uniting the Republican Party. Guys . Good luck with that. Sara murray, thanks so much. On the democratics side, Bernie Sanders notches the win in indiana, but Hillary Clinton still holds a commanding delegate lead. Whats next in this fight . Cnn senior washington correspondent joe johns live in washington with the latest. Good morning, joe. Reporter commanding is the word, john. The buzz almost unavoidable right now, but the headline is that it was a big night for Bernie Sanders, and keeps his campaign on the trail. Though the numbers in the race for the nomination continue to work against him, and for her part, Hillary Clintons campaign was pledging to stump for votes in every state left on the primary calendar, though also gaming out her message for a general election campaign. I understand that secretary clinton thinks that this campaign is over. Ive got some bad news for her. [ cheers ] reporter Bernie Sanders pulling off a stunning upset victory in indiana over democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton. We understand, and i do not deny it for one second, that we have an uphill battle in front of us, but i think we have a path to a victory, although it is a narrow path. Reporter that path mathematically impossible without swaying some of clintons 513 super delegates to his side. Super delegates are supporting clinton in states that we have won landslide victories. I think thats wrong. Reporter but clinton sk whoing past indiana. Im really focused on moving into the general election, and i think thats where we have to be because were going to have a tough campaign against a candidate who will literally say or do anything. Reporter fundraising on the back of trumps triumphant night tweeting, donald trump is the presumptive nominee. Chip in now if you agree we cant let him become president. As some democrats criticize sanders saying he is impeding the Democratic Path to the white house by prolonging the democratic primary. The senator making his case to cnns dana bash last night. Reporter staying in this race, arent you effectively making it harder for the democrats . Youve already conceded the race for me, and i dont accept that concession. E we we are in this race to win. Reporter after the big night in indiana, both campaigns have events that are scheduled later in the day. Hillary clinton expected to speak lehere in washington, d. C. At a reception marking asianpacific heritage also a fund raizor tfu today and Bernie Sanders in kentucky in lexington. Thank you so much, joe johns. And a knockout blow over ted cruz right there. The Republican Party now saying he will be the presumptive nominee. Joining us now, Trump National campaign cochairman and policy adviser sam clovis, professor, first off, congratulations. Thanks for joining us. Thanks for having me on, john. Appreciate it. Sam, do you know, has donald trump spoken with senator cruz since the results came in last night . I have no idea. I was at an event last night. When we got the news. Frankly, i had to get up and leave, because my job jar got filled up. I was working late into the night and didnt have a chance to communicate with anybody in new york about what calls were made or not made. I had my own things to do. The reason im asking, is because ted cruz last night in his speech where he dropped out of the race, he didnt mention donald trump by name. Conspicuously didnt mention him. The last thing we heard ted cruz say about donald trump was this. Lets listen. This man is a pathological liar. He doesnt know the difference between truth and lies. He lies practically every word that comes out of his mouth, but he combines it with being a narcissist. A narcissist at a level i dont think this countrys ever seen. The man is utterly amoral. Morality does not exist for him. Sam, how do you heal that . I think its really interesting. I think the move has to be on the part of both sides. I do think this is what happens in politics. John, youre not very old, but youve been around a long time. Youve seen this in action in a lot of ways. We see particularly it among the bare knuckle fighting that takes place in a lot of primaries that eventually the candidates do come together and unite, because the goal is really to defeat the other party. And i think this will happen. Were already seeing it happen in the republican i was at a table last night with people who were prominent cruz supporters, and i can tell you, these are these are people you would know, and as soon as it was people became aware of what had happened in the primary, it was interesting the conversation, how it shifted to where people were starting to say that, hey, we need to focus on getting on after Hillary Clinton, ands the democrats. So it was pretty interesting to see the dynamic just at the dinner table over the when the results became aware of everybody at the table became aware of the results. Thank you for calling me young. Im old enough to remember that i dont think ive ever heard one candidate call another a pathological liar and utterly amoral and then endorse him anytime soon. Though you saw support for cruz, let me read you tweets from other republicans including cruz supporter steve who tweeted, there goes my time as republican. Will change Party Affiliations tomorrow. Frankly, i feel relieved to do it, free, even. Mark stault alter, speechwriter john mccain. Im with her. He says hes voting for Hillary Clinton. These are prominent republicans, sam. Well, thats their choice, and steve dais is a friend of mine, endorsed me in my senate race when i ran for senate in 2014. I know steve well and steve is entitled to that. Theyre see also on the other side of it, democrats will cross over and vote for donald c. Trump. This is a familiar nphenomenon, happening in this country. People are shocked and surprised we have been successful in getting donald trump to the head of the list, and getting him now the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party. Nobody thought that was possible. Nobody thought we were serious. I think youre on to something there. This includes almost everybody that is sitting in the studio with you or anywhere else that are just watching this. Nobody thought wed be able to pull this off. Certainly look back a year, sam, no argument from me on that. You said you think when it comes to healing the rifrt t in the Republican Party it needs to happen on both sides. What does donald trump need to do . Does he need to apologize without evidence whatsoever thats ted cruzs father was in a picture with Lee Harvey Oswald . Will apologies be coming . What we saw, the first steps last night, certainly in the conciliatory tone of i thought mr. Trumps speech was fantastic last night. I thought it was great. It was so typical of him. I think a lot of people dont see the gracious side of him, and a lot of times because those of us that have been around him do. He his a wonderful, warm human being in a lot of ways, because its not depicted in the media and certainly not what we see. Does it justify conspiracy theories . Like quoting the National Enquir enquirer without proof . Its politics. Weve seen a lot of things. Im not surprised. Ive been following politics since i was 7 years old, and im frankly not surprised by anything anymore. This is the, the kind of thing that happens when the elbows come up under the basket, and i they this is, were going to get through this, and i think youre going to have chairman priebus on here in a moment, and i think hell tell you the same thing. Things will happen. Weve already seen this happen. I cant tell you the number of emails and texts and phone calls that have come in, and im only a small part of this whole operation. Imagine whats come in to mr. Trump. Hundreds and hundreds, perhaps thousands of people already, that are starting to rally behind mr. Trump as the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party. Sam clovis, great to have you with us. Again, congratulations on a very, very big win in indiana. Thanks so much, john and thanks for having me on. All right, sam. Our wolf blitzer will speak to the man Reince Priebus says will now be the presumptive nominee. Donald trump will be in the situation room. Interview airs at 5 00 p. M. Eastern right here on cnn. Calling on the gop to unite behind donald trump who he says will be the preive, is now the presumptive nominee. Rnc chairman Reince Priebus joins us live, next. And what ted did is really a very brave thing to do, and a great thing to do, because we want to bring unity to the Republican Party. We have to bring unity. Its so much easier if we have it. Donald trump had a huge night. His big win in indiana prompting rival ted cruz to drop out of the race. Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus tweeted that trump will be the pro zumptive gop nominee and calling on fellow republicans to unite behind trump. But will they . Reince priebus joins us now. Good morning, reince. Hey, good morning, alisyn. So a year ago when this race started in earnest, did you ever think this is where you would be this morning . You know, i didnt, but i dont think that necessarily its bad. You know what . I think something differ and something new is probably good for our party, and, look. I dont think anyone predicted what happened. So, look, were here. Were going to get behind the presumptive nominee. I stated the obvious in the tweet. Obviously, you still have to get to 1,237 delegates, that number still stands. Yes. But obviously, without ted cruz in the race, who did something that i agree was very gracious last night. Did that surprise you. And unexpected. Unexpected. Yeah. You were suppliesed when es suspended . Yeah. I was surprised and its a hard thing to do. He ran a very, very serious operation. Just an incredible ground game. His delegate operation was unbelievable. And i was surprised. But now, you know, youd have to say that its pretty obvious that donald trump is going to get to 1,237. Hes got to do it, though. Right. You say that its obvious hes going to get there. Its not obvious to john kasichs campaign. His adviser basically tweeting it was premature of you to say that. Is there any way that john kasich can stop donald trump from getting to 1,237 . Look, thats going to be up to john kasich. You know . And obviously, we have to have a nominee at 1,237, and the delegates on the floor have to vote. But, look, i think the momentum is there. Weve got a candidate that is winning, in every single state. I mean, a week earlier, i dont think he lost a county in six states. So i mean, look, its time to unite. Its time to come together, and i said, you may recall, months ago. I thought we would have more clarity in our party before the democrats do. And look where theyre at. I mean, Hillary Clinton, she cant win a state. Shes going to have to win somewhere if shes going to win the nominee of the democratic party. I think she won the last five out of seven states. I mean, she has won states. I dont know. Well, listen, shes going to have to win more than she is in order to put this away and shes spending money on primaries when she should be having to spend money on ground game and battleground states. Youre talking about party unity and calling for it. Would it help if john kasich got out of the race . Look, im not going to im not go to get into that, alisyn. You know, obviously, thats up to john kasich. Hes got his own, his own platform and his own agenda hes returning and im going to leave that up to him. Okay. In terms of party i not, there seems to be something of a mutiny among highprofile conservatives who are basically jumping ship this morning. Let me read a couple of the tweets to you. Heres john kasichs former adviser mark salter says the gop is going to nominate for president a guy who reads the National Inquirer and thinks its on the level. Im with her, meaning he will vote for Hillary Clinton. A conservative talk radio host, theres goes my republican i feel relieved to do it. Even free. What do you say to those guys . Look, theres going to be time here in the next few months to heal and come together. Thats what today is all about. Its starting that process. Its not easy. We had two candidates that had very serious operations with deep support. Both on the ground and on the air, everywhere for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every 6 minutes on cable. Everybody fighting about this. And its going to take some time, but were going to get there, because Hillary Clinton and the Supreme Court and getting our debt under control and signing a budget bill that paul ryan drafts up is going to be important to the future of our country, and i think people are going to understand that the words president Hillary Clinton is something we cant stand for. Yesterday was a particularly crazy day on the campaign trail. Donald trump was talking about ted cruz father, implicating him somehow, and jfk assassination. Now that its all over, but for the shouting, as they say, is it time for donald trump to apologize to ted cruz or his father . Look, i dont know about all of the apologies, but i do think its time to come together, and i think you saw the beginning of that last night. I thought that donald trump was very gracious. I thought his tone was spoton. I think that is the donald trump that people are going to see a lot more of, and i think he was right to compliment ted cruz. I think that he was right to call what he did brave and gracious. I agree with that. And i think youre going to see more of that. Youre certainly going to see a lot more of that from me, and i think youre going to see a lot of that from donald trump moving forward. We know you had a conversation with donald trump last night. What did you promise him the party would do for him . I didnt make any promises. I mean, this is the party. The candidates if donald trump ultimately becomes the nominee, which i think he will be, hes going to be joining the Republican Party. Were not, you know as ive said before, the candidates join us. We dont join the candidates. And so our Party Platform is clear. The things we believe in are clear. We dont change what we believe in. As a party. We have a nomination process, and someone is going to get chosen. I believe donald trump will ultimately get chosen, and hes going to join the party. Did trump tell you that hes changing his tone . No, but we did talk about, you know, speaking at 30,000 feet, and we talked about bringing the Party Together, and unifying, and i think thats very important to him. Very important to me. In order to win. We cant win with one arm tied behind our backs. Weve got to have everything at the ready, and i think we will, but, listen, alisyn, im not naive. It will take some time. This was a very contentious battle. Donald trump still has to get to 1,237. And its up to john kasich as to what he wants to do. Im not going to tell him to get out or to stay in. Its up to him. But we in the meantime are going to come together. We need to start doing some things to start getting ready. Like we need to raise more money, get more boots on the ground and we need to continue to do the things that ive done at the rnc for the last five years. Yeah. I mean that contentious battle has left the party wounded or at least behind the eight ball. The latest polling shows in terms, if you consider the Republican Party united, only 7 of republicans today consider the party united. So donald trump is going to have some work to do. Whats his first olive branch . Well, i think you saw some of that last night, alisyn. I dont disagree with what youre saying, are 0 the fact people say, hey, the party needs to come together. We do. Thats why im here, you know, at 6 30 in racine, wisconsin, talking to you and talking about unity and bringing the Party Together, and its not easy when, you know, you have 17 candidates and in many cases, peoples second and third choices didnt win. And so thats not easy. But ultimately, Hillary Clinton, the Supreme Court, actually getting something done about our debt and spending in this country, its not going to happen with Hillary Clinton as president. Shes not going to sign a paul ryan budget. Shes not going to appoint conservatives to the Supreme Court. If we care about those things, then we need to get behind the republican nominee, and thats what im going to try to do for the next several months. Are you pouring baileys on your breakfast krecereal yet . No. I didnt have to. No need. No baileys yet. Pretty tasty. Reince priebus, thanks so much. Great to talk to you. All right. Lets get to john. Does sound like hes got the baileys handy in case he needs it at any moment. Ted cruz, hes out. John kasich sh, not yet. Hes staying in the race. Why . Thats next. Indiana voters giving us a little snapshot of why donald trump dominated the gop primary last night, and which democrat do you think has the best chance of beating him in the general election . Cnns Christine Romans joins now with more on the deciding factors in indiana. What are you seeing, christine . Good morning, alisyn. A lot of talk of the woman card from donald trump in the week leading up to that indiana primary. Trump still won 47 of women voters in indiana. Ted cruz not far behind with 41 . Compare that with men. A bigger share here. 59 of republican male primary voters siding with donald trump. Looking ahead to the general election, voters warming to the possibility of a president trump. We asked how Republican Voters would feel if trump became president . More than half would be excited or optimistic. 18 concerned. 24 scared. Thats come down significantly since earlier primaries. Same question, but much different results on the democratic side. How do voters feel about a Hillary Clinton presidency . Only 16 would be excited. 52 optimistic. 22 concerned. A smaller percentage scared. What about Bernie Sanders in the white house . More excitement than clinton. 31 . 41 optimistic. 22 concerned. Just 4 scared. But an interesting twist here. When we asked who has a better chance of beating trump in november . 54 choose clinton. 43 sanders. Sanders wins the state, but clinton gets the vote of confidence for the general election, john. All right. Thank you so much, Christine Romans. In case you didnt hear. Donald trump won indiana. Ted cruz, he lost. Hes out. And john kasich is john kasich. Whats he doing . Lets bring in cnn political commentator host of the ben ferguson show, ben ferguson, a ted cruz supporter. I should say he was a ted cruz suppo supporter, and also Margaret Hoover worked in the Bush White House and on several president s campaigns. Margaret, start with the kasich question. Whats he doing . What is john kasich doing . Look, john kasich should have run stronger in new york to help keep trumps numbers down. Should have run stronger in a lot of places. Does this become a projohn kasich movement . Put they are money where their mouth is and not never trump or have they run out of steam . Answer that question. Totally run out of steam and sort of roll over. What youve seen is an acquiescence among conservative intelligence and elites that maybe the best thing to do is to fall in line. We see democrat fall in line. Republicans fall in line. Maybe have to disprove the theory running like donald trump can actually win a general election. Youre going to fall in line . Is this about me . I have a very hard time, personally, hard time imagining myself voting for donald trump and a lot of republican women that feel exactly like i do. Ben ferguson, follow up with that question. Are you going to get to for donald trump . I said it in the very beginning. I said i would support the nominee. Donald trump is going to be the nominee. John kasich in fourth place. Not even third. Still behind rubio. This is over. The presumptive nominee is donald trump and i will support donald trump, if for no other reason on the issue of national security. Hell be better on that issue than Hillary Clinton, i think. The problem with donald trump, his supporters. Donald trump has to get his supporters to understand that you cant go out there and trash every person that didnt get on the trump train early on. If you looked last night at twitter and facebook, Trump Supporters were just nailing ted cruz supporters, trashtalking them, ripping on them, saying, how do you like us now . Were going all the way. You cannot win a nomination if youre donald trump without bringing other people in, and there were more than 5 Million People that voted against you, and so instead of for you. A lot of work to do for his supporters to understand youve got to be friends with people you just ran against. You cannot continue to trash them. Why cant we be friends . The question were all asking, ben ferguson. Im curious, ben, you first. Theres a lot of angst among some people in the party. You heard from steve dease and mark salter as well. They make is seem like somethings happening in the party theyre not connected to. Donald trump won the republican primaries. He is the presumptive nominee, or will be the presumptive nominee. He won the Republican Party primary process. This is your party. Your party decided on donald trump. Well i go ahead. I think theres one thing here, and donald trump needs to understand this. And his campaign probably needs to understand this more than donald trump does. Hes a very weak primary candidate. He said that mitt romney and john mccain were both losers, in his words. They had this wrapped up well before now. He has a lot of work to do to be able to turn this around in general election, and this idea, and i think part of it is just the overall Media Coverage of this race has made it seem like donald trump is somehow bigger than he actually is. Hes a very weak candidate going into the general election. He is going to have to do more to bring people together. And, again, i dont understand why he didnt say that last night. You know what . Heres my question for ben. Heres my question for every cruz supporter, for everybody who calls themselves a republican. Donald trump, right, john, won the Republican Party nomination. By a lot. Well, won by a lot in a fractured field. You still have other competitors, add up their points, about 900 delegates now, but he did win, leading the prauds and will likely get to the 1,237 by believing absolutely nothing. That republicans have believed and run on in the last 30 years. He is a nativist, isolationist, protectionist candidate does not represent the establishment in washington, the paul ryans. Disproved the notion true conservative can win. Vote to defund obama care one more time or overturn obama or planned parenthood one more time. Theres literally nothing he stands for that represents the Republican Party. How can that be true if he just won the republican process . Means the party is fractured. The party has a reckoning. What does a Republican Party platform look under President Donald Trump . Does it say we believe in a personhood amendment . We believe in traditional marriage and should still have dont ask, dont tell . Modernize in terms of social freedom . What does it say about economics . Is it a, does it have a protectionist economic agenda . And, john begin to espouse the nativist ideas . Building a wall . People like me who identify with the Republican Party and not the principles of donald trump espoused have a real reckoning and crisis to confront. Ten seconds left. What margaret said wraps up the entire conversation this morning perfectly. Donald trump has a lot of work to do. And his supporters have got to learn to play nice with others. And, also, if he continues to go down this path of quoting the National Enquirer as a legitimate source and attacking people that have not been with him or attacking someones father saying hes connected to the jfk assassination, he will lose a general election. He has got to stop this and act more president ial. Just dont quote the National Enquirer. You have to bring everybody together. Thanks for joining us. On the democratic side, Bernie Sanders beat Hillary Clinton in indiana. Is it traall about the independents . Well hear from a clinton supporter, next. Discuss with former Dnc Communications directioner brat woodhouse, president of correct the record and americans united gore change and also a Hillary Clinton supporter. Good morning, brad. Good morning. How are you . Im doing well. Are you surprised by hillarys loss last night . No. Not at all. Ill tell you, indiana, alisyn, demographically looks a lot like wisconsin. Wisconsin was a state Bernie Sanders won by 14 points. Last night he eeked out a small win. She spent i think zero or close to zero there. I mean, i think anyone whos watched this campaign over the last few weeks knows that while shes taking nothing for granted in the primary, shes already very much engaged in a campaign against donald trump. Bernie sanders has virtually no path now to the nomination. He said, alisyn, he needed to win all of these remains contests by 65 . Last night he fell far short of that, and he only changed the delegate math by six delegates. Brad, lets talk about what we can glean from the exit polls there, and what might be some vulnerabilities for Hillary Clinton that we see. Number one, with young people, young people in exit polls in indiana, age 17 to 44 here. Look at 17 and 29. All right. Look at 17 and 44. Sanders wins then by twice as many as hillar did. So what specifically, brad, can Hillary Clinton do in the next few weeks to try to appeal to that younger demographic . Well, first of all she needs to run a compelling race and i think she will against donald trump. You know, donald trump you know, ted cruz yesterday said donald trump would lead the country off the cliff. He calmed him an amoral pathological liar. So i think theres a lot to work with there in terms of attracting voters to Hillary Clinton including young voters. Let me say this about senator sanders. Senator sanders has run a tremendous campaign and he is inspired, inspired a lot of people, and secretary clinton is going to work very hard to bring those people over, and i think once, you know once this is a, a race against donald trump, weve seen polling. Harvard did a poll. Shed this issue of who the young people support totally flips in a general election to Hillary Clinton, and away from donald trump. Another vulnerability, independen independents. Here bernie crushed. 72 to 28 . Bernie versus hillary. And then you look at how donald trump does with independents, and in indiana, he won. He got 54 . Again, twice what Hillary Clinton got with 28 . That is a real vulnerability in the general election. Shes going to need them. Well, you know, alisyn, in the primary, this is really this is really how it is played out, and if you look at any state coming up on the map, if its open, if its largely white, so if its open, so democrats and independents can vote, Bernie Sanders tends to do pretty well. I mean, i dont think shes going to apologize for appealing to democrats to win the democratic nomination, and then i think once you get into a headonhead match with donald trump i think well see those numbers change, but, look. Theres work to do. Theres work to do here on both sides, but, you know, were going to be facing donald trump, and i think that that increases the opportunity to talk to the American People. Not just independents, alisyn. You know, theres a lot of evidence today as a result of donald trump capturing the nomination last night that there are republicans that just cant stomach the idea of voting for him. I think theres going to be a wide range of voters for hillary to appeal to Going Forward. Bernie sanders explained his path last night. Basically he said that he sees himself being able to siphon away delegates from Hillary Clinton as he moves forward. What do you want to see Bernie Sanders do now . Well, look, i think i think senator sanders should run a Campaign Based on the issues, and the issues that he cares about, and i think very much he should stay, he should stay in the race. You do think that . You think he should stay in, even though Hillary Clinton does think its time for her to turn her attention to donald trump . Look, she has turned her attention to donald trump. I dont think youve seen her, unless in response to a question, i dont think youve seen her even mention senator sanders on the campaign trail in the last couple of weeks. Shes spending almost all of her time talking about her issues or contrasting her issues with donald trump. The democratic is over. She could lose every contest between now and california and still captures the nomination. A large lead in pledged and super delegates. I hope senator sanders will do, to the extend of Elizabeth Warren and others on the democratic side. Some who havent supported hillary, to the extent he wants to contrast his positions with someone else, i hope hell do it with donald trump. Brad woodhouse, thanks so much. Over to john. All right. Donald trump is now the Presumptive Republican nominee, just like no one predicted. Now polls show him losing the general election. Is there a chance that theyre wrong, too . And why . Thats next. Donald trump now just 184 delegate as way from officially clinching the nomination, but with ted cruz out of the race, he is all but certain to surpass that. Donald trump and Hillary Clinton now focused on the general election fight and the new battle for numbers, this time, 270 electoral votes. Here to discuss it all, mike shields, cnn delegate analyst, the former rnc chief of staff and the American Action network. Mike, thanks for being with us. Delegate analyst. Mike, do you out of a job here . Why are you talking d b delegates. Anything left to discuss . Sure. Delegate issues that matter. Donald trump isnt yet the nominee. He is the person we think will likely be the nominee. All the things point to that with ted cruz dropping out. Hell get the 1,237 before the convention, lock it up in the remaining states, the last state being june 7th voting. Hell go to the convention and be the nominee. It hasnt happened yet. He has to campaign, and youre going to get to the convention and he has to start working on bringsing the Party Together. Working on things like who is his vicepresident nominee, what is in the platform. Whats important, where will the money come from. A good way to bring the Party Together is when you can raise money not only for your campaign, but for down ticket races and you can provide it as a party leader. Thats an important way to bring the Party Together. Hell have to start working on those things starting today. People like money, mike shields. You point out at the Convention Hall, it will be awkward for a ton of reasons. If for no reason, the ones who have to vote for him on the first ballot, arent for him. Ted cruz has made certain of that. Have we seen anything like that, where there will be people raising their hand for the nominee they dont really like . Yeah, i mean, exactly right. The whole Convention Hall will be full of the local Party Regulars. I think youll find more of them wind of being loyal to the party than you might expect. They will want to get behind the nominee, because they want to beat Hillary Clinton. Look, you have donald trump supporter that said were either going to take over the gop or blow it up. So when you come into the party with almost a hostile takeover attitude like that, and then you win the partys nomination, its on you to bring the Party Together. So i think donald trump will have to give a message to those delegates chld ale very to talk to them. Hell have to get into the Convention Hall, i am one of you, i want oh bring you together. Favorite candidate, get them on board, get elected officials on board and show you want to bring the Party Together. Thats a big task for him. Maybe we can shift your title to Electoral College analyst to keep you employed here, mike. Donald trump says he puts states in play that have not been in play for republican candidates in the past. He even lists new york. Lets leave new york aside, because i dont think so thats true. Perhaps in the industrial midwest, is it true . Well, it remains to be seen. Weve seen a poll that came out, i saw it on cnn this morning, he is down by 13 or 14 points in the general election already. He has a big hill to climb. He has a hill to climb with certain demographic groups, nonwhites, especially hispanics, College Educated women, and so that makes it tough in some of those Battle Ground states. We also dont know how hell be in the general election, because we keep hearing there will be a new trump and hell act differently. He has an opportunity in the ohio river valley, western pennsylvania and western new york to sort of improve himself and to help some of the people running down ticket, because his message will do better, better in states liin west virginia. In nevada, and california, where you have high hispanic vote, and it starts with bringing the republicans together. Our recent candidates have gotten at least 91 of republican voter as apart of their coalition. He has to get republicans on board before he starts looking at those Battle Ground states and how hell do with swing votes. 85 among republicans, it actually isnt enough. Mike, quickly, last conspiracy theory. The delegates are bound or will be bound to donald trump when he gets over 1,237. Delegates are all free agents on the vicepresident ial ballot. Donald trump can say he wants whoever he wants to be his vicepresident ial nominee, but they dont have to abide by it. Any chance you might see a fight so the Party Regulars and the ones who dont like him may try to back someone he may not want. Highly unlikely. They want to beat Hillary Clinton. Thats partly, the vicepresident ial pick is an opportunity for donald trump to send a signal to those delegates into the party of how he wants to bring people together. Those are the kinds of things he has to do that will help bring the Party Together. So who he chooses can help make that a lot easier and avoid those types of conspiracy theories as you put it. Just a few seconds left. Level with me, because your tone of voice seems somewhat forlorn. Do you think donald trump is capable of these things you say he needs to do . Simple yes or no. I think its a big challenge, but he has already defied every single thing of political gravity that weve known, and so who is to say that he cant do all of these things and then some. I dont think anyone who is observer of politics would be shocked if donald trump won the general election, just because he has done things he has predicted. He has to prove he has do these things, no reason to say he cant do it. Were going to have to see if he can pull it together. Mike shields, delegate analy analyst. Thank you. Following a lot of news. Lets get to it. We had a tremendous victory. We are suspending our campaign. I guess he is down to one. I dont know. Is there a second . Donald will betray his supporters. I dont think we deserve that. Ted cruz, i dont know if he likes me, but he is one hell of a competitor. Weve got to stay focused. We know how to do this, my friends. Secretary clinton thinks this campaign is over. Ive got some bad news to you. Make a lot of promises they cant keep. Im not going to do. We can pull off one of the greatest upsets in the history of the United States. This is new day with chris cuomo and alisyn camerota. Good morning, everyone. Welcome to new day. Chris is an assignment this morning. John berman joins us. Great to have you, john. So donald trump will be the Republican Partys presumptive nominee after sweeping to victory in indiana and knocking ted cruz out of the race. The chairman of the rnc calling on the parties to unite now, behind trump to defeat Hillary Clinton. On the democratic side, Bernie Sanders, upsetting clinton in indiana to keep his white house hopes alive, barely. Trump and clinton now all be certain to face off this november. We have the 2016 race covered the way only cnn can. Lets begin with john berman with last nights results and the delegate scorecard. How does it look . Bad for anyone not named donald trump and the republican side. It looks over, in fact, for most of them, alisyn. Look at indiana, 53 , ted cruz 36 . John kasich, way down below 8 . Lets look at the democratic side of the race. Bernie sanders edged out by five points. Hillary clinton was only there one day. Didnt spend any money, yet she did lose. What does it mean for delegates. Bernie sanders picked up more, 43 to Hillary Clinton 38. He nets only five delegates, not nearly enough to cut in into a big delegate lead right now. On the republican side, donald trump very different story. We say he wins at least 51 out of the 57 delegates. Do not be surprised later in the day we tell you he swept all 57 delegates. John kasich and ted cruz with zero. This puts donald trump very much closer to the 1,237 he needs. You can see the only remaining candidate facing donald trump, john kasich has 156. He trails this guy, marco rubio who dropped out more than a month ago. Running fourth in a twoperson race right now. Hillary clinton has more than 2,200 delegates, well ahead of Bernie Sanders. You can see how he needs to do even better than he did last night to cut into her lead. She needs 184 to clinch the nomination with 2383. Lets look at the raw vote total. Hillary clinton has 12 million votes, more than 3 million ahead of Bernie Sanders. Thats a number you hear a lot from the Clinton Campaign. On the republican side, donald trump has more than 10 million votes right now. This is more hthan mitt romney won the election season four years ago. If donald trump keep this is up hell win more than any republican has. John, thanks for that. Donald trump, closer to the general election this morning, after months of sparring with ted cruz, a knockout blow in the primary yesterday in indiana. Now from political reporter, sarah murray. Watch this. To voters chose another path. Indiana marks the end of the road for ted cruz. We are suspending our campaign. And a major victory for donald trump. As he becomes the Republican Partys presumptive nominee. What ted did is really a very brave thing to do. We want to bring unity to the Republican Party. After months of battling it out with the rnc. Its all a rigged system. It is a disgusting system. The billionaire getting a message of support, from the very top. Party chairman Reince Prebus tweeting he will answer the presumptive nominee. We need to focus on defeating Hillary Clinton. Now, only one other candidate refusing to leave the race. I love california. John kasichs chief strategist tweeting until someone has 1,237 bound delegates there is no presumptive nominee. California, here we come. But trump is largely ignoring him, and focusing on the general election. Were going after Hillary Clinton. She will not be a great president. She will not be a good president. She will be a poor president. Solidifying his position at the top, just hours after this litany of attacks from cruz. This man is a pathological liar. Donald trump is a serial. He is amoral. He is a bully. After a rough and tumble day on the trail, he adopted a friendlier tone in his victory speech. He is one hell of a competitor. He is a tough, smart guy. But if trump was hoping for an endorsement. I am not suspending our fight for liberty. Our movements will continue. All right, our thanks to sarah for that. Lets turn to the democratic side of the race right now. Bernie sanders, he won in indiana, a win he needed there in that state. Questions now, though, he may get money out of it, may get some momentum, but what about the math. Hillary clinton delegate leads all but insurmountable, gio johns with the latest. Joe. Absolutely right there, john. Th math is the problem. Almost unavoidable around Hillary Clinton. The headline is, it was a big night for Bernie Sanders that keeps his campaign on the track. But the numbers in the race for the nomination continue to work against him. For her part, Hillary Clintons campaign was pledging to stump on the calendar. Theyre gaming out her message for a general election campaign. I understand that secretary clinton thinks that this campaign is over. Ive got some bad news for her. Bernie sanders pulling up a stunning upset victory over frontrunner Hillary Clinton. We understand, and i do not deny it for one second, that we have an uphill battle in front of us. But i think we have a path to a victory, although it is a narrow path. That path, mathematically impossible, without swaying some of clintons 513 super delegates to his side. Super delegates are supporting clinton in states that we have won landslide victories. I think thats wrong. Clinton is looking past indiana. Im really focused on moving into the general election, and i think thats where we have to be, because were going to have a tough campaign against a candidate who will literally say or do anything. Fundraising on the back of trumps night. Tweeting donald trump is the presumptive night. Chip in now if you agree we cant let him become president. As some democrats criticize sanders, saying he is impeding the path to the white house by prolonging the democratic primary, the senator making his case to cnns dana bash last night. Staying in this race, arent you effectively making it harder for the democrats . Youve already conceded the race for me. I dont accept that concession. We are in this race to win. Now, after the big night in indiana, both campaigns have events that are scheduled later in the day. Hillary clinton expected to speak near washington, d. C. , at a reception marking Asian Pacific American Heritage month. He issues a fundraiser today. Bernie sanders continuing a Campaign Swing through the state of kentucky, an event this evening in lexington. Joe, thank you so much. Overen the republican side, the path seems clear for donald trump to be the Presumptive Republican nominee. Joining us to talk about what lies ahead, new york cochair, congressman chris collins. Good morning, congressman. Great morning. Great morning. I knew you would be happy this morning. Yeah, i mean, weve got momentum. Weve gott enthusiasm. Were unites as Reince Priebus said. Were going to focus our attention on beating hillary. Make America Great again. Look at hillary now. She is stumbling. She has no enthusiasm. Bernie continues to win. So you know, when you contrast the enthusiasm, and in fact, the momentum behind Bernie Sanders, boy, what a stark contrast. Well, congressman, it is not exactly a rose garden for donald trump. Youre happy, but there is a whole chorus of high profile republicans who seem somewhat despondent, once it became clear donald trump was going to be the presumptive nominee and win in indiana, all sorts of people started tweeting things. Let me read to you, this is the former mccain advisor, who cheated the gop is going to nominate for president a guy who reads the National Enquirer and thinks it is on the level. Im with her. Meaning he is willing to vote for hillary. Well, there goes my time as republican. Well be changing our Party Affiliations. Frankly, i field relieved to do it. Free, even. And then, the editor of the national review, rich lowry, had this to say. Listen. We do think this a mistake for the party. We do think reagan style conservatism is basically going to be in exile now for the Republican Party for some period of time. Reagan style conservatism in exile. This doesnt seem like a party ready to unite, congressman. Well, youre hearing the establishment figures, those arent the voters, not the enthusiasm behind donald. They woke up this morning and there is an oh, my god moment. Theyre going to make lemonade what they country lemons. Theyre not going to allow Hillary Clinton to be president. That will frame the Supreme Court for the next two or three decades. This president , next president will be appointing two or three Supreme Court nominees. So when it comes down to november, theyre going to vote for donald trump. Were going to unite behind him. We have ten weeks before the convention. Thats a long time to be united before we really go on the full attack. So there is a difference with the evnthusiasm behind donald. Certainly in my part of the world and western new york. The working class democrats are solidly behind donald. Ive met with union folks this past weekend and they told me while they usually support democrats, their membership is behind donald trump, with enthusiasm, bringing our jobs back from china and mexico, securing the borders. Thats a message that resonates with the Union Workers around america. Normally supporting the democratic. And yet, congressman, when you look at the head to head matchups in november, both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders beat donald trump by double digits. So what is his plan . Will we see, i should ask, a different donald trump, a different tactic that he has used moving forward . Well, first of all, if you remember three weeks ago, alisyn, ted cruz was beating donald trump by double digits in indiana, and last night, donald trump won by almost 17 points. So these polls, really dont make a lot of sense today. We havent taken the fight to hillary. The unique thing about donald trump, his message hasnt changed. He secures the borders, brings the jobs back from mexico and china that have been stolen, and on the Foreign Policy front, stand up to vladimir putin, the ayatollah, north korea and defeat isis. Donald trumps message has not budged one iota in the last year and it wont. Hell reminds all the soccer moms in america, they want their children to grow up in a safe world that is defeating east, thats donald trump. They need jobs. We need jobs in a growing economy to deal with many of the problems that a lot of middle class americans can take. The soccer moms want a safe world, a world with an economic Bright Future for their children and live the american dream. Thats the message. Its really not any different than what it has been that has created the momentum where donald trump is now as our presumptive nominee. We just had reince prebeibiu let me play what he said about Donald Trumps win last night. I dont think that necessarily bad. You know what, i think Something Different and something new is probably good for our party. Not necessarily bad, maybe we need something new. Is that the kind of enthusiasm youre looking from the head of the rnc . Well, i am glad he is calling for unity. You would not expect reince p priebus to be enthusiastic. He never has been. 10 million votes for donald trump, more than mitt romney had four years ago. So no, the establishment woke up this morning, and as ive said, they have to make lemonade out of lemons. Theyre going do that. Weve got ten weeks until the convention. Many of my fellow members in congress will unite behind donald trump. Theyre going to be running this fall. They have donald trump at the top of the ticket. Were going to stress securing the borders, getting our jobs back and standing tall against our enemies. Thats an easy message to deliver and that will be our message. Right now, straight through november. Congressman chris collins. Thanks so much for being on new day. Always good to be you with. Wolf blitzer will talk to donald trump on the situation room, airing at 5 00 p. M. Eastern, right here on cnn. Also coming up on new day, most prominent supporter, legendary basketball coach, bobby knight. Stick around for that. All right, new details about the coordinated isis attack that killed a u. S. Navy receive. Ash carter spoke about it moments ago. Lets get to Barbara Starr live at the pentagon. Good morning. 31yearold Charles Keating, u. S. Navy seal being mourned by his family and friends, killed yesterday in what the pentagon is calling a complicated isis attack. As you just mentioned, ash carter speaking about this just a short time ago. This fight is far from over. And there are great risks. We were reminded of this yesterday, when an american Service Member, petty administer first class Charles Keating, navy seal, was killed, these risks will continue. We greatly regret his loss. This happened in northern iraq, the navy seals were working as military advisors to Peshmerga Kurdish fighters in a Village North of mosul. This is where the emphasis is right now. Trying to isolate the villages with u. S. Mill tear radio help, so the kurds and iraqi fighters can get their frontlines to mosul and try to take the city back from isis. That tack, though, very neutral. About 100 isis fighters rolling in, literally, with bulldozers, trucks, suicide car bombs, rolling past the peshmerga checkpoints to where the that i have ee seals were. The fire fight breaks out. Keating was rapidly medevaced we were told, but died of his injured at a hospital. Additional navy seals also rolled in to try provide back up. This a difficult situation. The pentagon making no promises that sadly it may happen again. Alisyn. All right, barbara. Thanks for that update. We also have an update on the investigation into the death of prince. There are bombshell developments, revealing that prince died in the midst of frantic efforts to get him treatment for a drug addiction. Reporting this morning that the music icon died one day before he was supposed to meet with a california doctor specialize flg opioid addiction to get treatment for abusing painkillers. Reporting princes reps called dr. Howard cornfelled, because he was dealing with a grave emergency. So addictive and prevalent in the United States. So troubling about this prince things, it sounds, if this was true, if he was addicted to painkiller, he came to it the old fashion way through pain. Being prescribed pain medicine. He knew. Clearly was seeking to get help. Bernie sanders returning to the Winners Circle with a big win in indiana. Bernie sanders saying he is staying in the race until the end. What exactly is the path to victory . Were going to ask the Campaign Manager, next. Man dear mr. Danoff, my wife and i are now participating in your mutual fund. Bernie sanders, after beating Hillary Clinton in indiana, Bernie Sanders said if the Clinton Campaign thinks the democratic race is over, theyre wrong. Of course, Bernie Sanders faces an uphill delegate battle. Some may call it an in sure mounable battle. Joining us now, Campaign Manager jeff weaver. Thats a smile i detect on your face, mr. Weaver. Got to feel good this morning. Good morning. A great night last night for the senator. Obviously all the polls had him down in indiana. We had come off some losses in the closed primaries in the northeast, and this was a tremendous vote from people who said, look, the pundits and the news people want to say the campaign is over, but the voters arent quite sure yet. Do you know if he spoke to secretary clinton last night . I dont know. Im in vermont. I was not with him last night. You win outright by being in vermont. The good news for you is you win indiana. The bad news is math. Right, and i know this is something you deal with everyday. I think its frustrating for the Sanders Campaign to have to deal with it everyday. When we look at the delegate numbers, by our calculations, you need to win 101 of the remaining pledged delegates. You need to win 101 . What that essentially means is you need to flip super delegates now to win. Its all about flipping super delegates. Without that, you cant win the nomination. Is that how you see it in. Well, how we see it is well go through the rest of the process, let everybody vote. Have the voters Say Something about the process. Who has how many pledged delegates. The truth is, no one is going to the convention with the requisite number of pledged delegates to win. The super delegates will decide the race. The question will be which candidate can best defeat donald trump in the fall. Help democrats up and down the ballot. Thats going to be the question that theyre going to have to confront. Look, the polls have been consistent now and continue to be consistent. New poll out today. Bernie sanders does better again against. Thats our new poll. Bernie sanders does do better than Hillary Clinton. It is a 13 point lead. Youre both doing well against donald trump right now. So it does come down to super delegates. The last time we spoke, you told me you were not making phone calls, your campaign not making phone calls to flip Clinton Super delegates. Is that still the case . What were doing is talking to a lot of undecided super delegates. As you know, there is 150 some odd super delegates. The truth of the matter, is some Clinton Super delegates call us. We do have conversations with people. We are not actively engaged in trying to take people who have committed to secretary clinton to be committed to the senator at this point. Because we want to let the voters first have a say. I appreciate that. That will be very instructive for the super delegates. At the same time, if it is going to require super delegates to flip and youre not, you know, doing outreach to them, couldnt you make the case youre not trying to win . Well, as i said to you last time, you said phone calls. We do do outreach to people. We have ongoing communication and messaging to all of the super delegates. We provide them with information and updates on a regular basis. So in fact, we are in touch with them. The question you had for me was are we actively calling them and trying to flip them. Thats a different question than what you just if youre not trying to flip them, then leave it at that. Im not trying to be cagey. If youre not trying to flip them, youre not trying to win. People can make that case. If you need to flip them to win, ergo, youre not trying to win. Well, we are in communication with them. Theyre watching closely to see how the final contests go, including california, which as you know, the largest state in the country. People will be watching it with interest. The senator is in a position now to have a considerable number of victories between now and the end. West virginia is next week. Thats looking good for senator sanders. And then Going Forward, a lot of opportunities for him to win and win big. The super delegates will take note of that. This continued consistent polling showing him as the strongest nominee against donald trump, i think will be very persuasive. One of the things you began to hear, he will become the presumptive nominee, now that he is alone, Hillary Clinton needs to be alone. The fact that Bernie Sanders is still running against him, some people argue, only hurts her with donald trump now in a clear field. What do you say to that argument . Look, the democratic primary process this year has been a process that has been largely focused around differences on issues. Exit polls show the voters think it has been constructive for the party, helping the party get better, helping the nominee get better. So this has not been what we seen on the republican fight, which is a food fight. This is a debate about the issues. The truth of the matter is, as long as we can have this process go forward, well be on tv with you, and so will the Hillary Clinton people, talking about the issues that are important to democrats. As soon as either Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton is the sole person on the democratic side, believe me, the republican onslaught will begin. I think this is a much healthier discussion to have about priorities for the country on the democratic side than just having donald trump attacks all the time. Jeff weaver for us from vermont. You know, i feel like, you know, you remember that film where, you know, she just like falls into her Chicken Salad. Yes. Okay, thats where i am right now. Give me a Chicken Salad i can just rest my face in until november. Well, is it past november, though . Seriously, you are okay, wake me up in either four month ors four years. What are you going to do that november day when you walk into the voting booth . Frankly, im not ready to cross that bridge right now. I have absolutely no intent of voting for donald trump. I also have no decider and no intent on voting for Hillary Clinton. But i know i cant stay home, because there is a bunch of down ballot races that depend on republicans as despondent as some of us feel, showing up and having enthusiasm for our candidates, but are down ballots. I have a senate race i have to vote in in florida. I have to worry about that. I think both donald trump and Hillary Clinton have got to earn the votes of people like me right now. There is a lot of us who are despondent, who just cannot believe donald trump is the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party. Can he do something to change my mind . I cant fathom it. Can hillary, i cant fathom that. Many voters arent as responsible as anna. Many will stay home. The down ballot issues will make them not leave their homes and so if Hillary Clinton wins by a landslide, there is also the possibility of a third party or independent candidate and gets some of the energy. At this point, things look bad for the party right now. A im not a Hillary Clinton supporter. Im going to hold my nose when i make my choice. Reince priebus made a strong move by saying he is the presumptive nominee. If you dont do it early, youll loss the party. Weve heard from tweets last night. A whole bunch of highprofile republicans, radio talk show hosts basically want to burn their gop Party Affiliation. I mean, thats what theyre saying. Some of them are going so far as to say theyre going to vote Hillary Clinton. So it doesnt seem as though donald trump has yet unified the party. Well, first of all, i advised donald trump to send anna shoes and see if we can start that way. Going to take more than that, jeffrey, but thank you. Is that trumps strategy for women voters . I am a size eight. I would have to build entire, thousands of square feet of closets. Two kinds of opposition here. There are conservatives and then there are people like, you know, ill single them out, mark salter from senator mccains office. Those are folks, where was president mccain . I mean, they took mark salters advice and they lost. They do this over and over and over again. And then when somebody come as long who really fights like crazy, then they say, well, im going to go vote for the other person. This is what a lot of conservatives think of these folks to begin with. Has at th what about erickson . What about howe these guys are conservatives. Right, right. And i do think we have to have long conversations with these folks. But the fact of the matter is, if you are not going to support donald trump, you are de facto electing Hillary Clinton president. Now, donald trump is the nominee, going to be the nominee of the Republican Party. Not because of people like me. But because of the voters. The voters. The people. They have voted overwhelmingly for him. So i do think at some point, we need to allow for the fact that people in my home state of pennsylvania or in indiana or any where else in america, that went to the polls, that their decision must be respected. Anna . It is the voters. He won with the voters in indiana by a wide margin. Absolutely. You have to give him credit for where he is right now. I dont like donald trump. Like i said, i have no intention of voting for him, but i have to say, this is a guy that has never done this, and an entire line of carcasses, skeletons right now that he left behind in his wake of people that were more seasoned, veteran politicians, better debate tors, had more policy knowledge, did not insult everybody in their brother and mother. Yet here we are with donald trump. He did it with a ragtag group of people. A lot of them were not the seasoned operatives. He did it his way. He stuck to his persona. Never really changed. Youve got to give the guy a lot of credit for where he is today. That being said, like me, you think he is unstable, like me, you are concerned by the idea of a president who is drunk tweeting without having had a drink at 2 00 in the morning, then you really have to take some pause and say do i want this person to have a nuclear code. Today, i dont believe he has the temperament to lead this country. Its so interesting. Because so many Republican Voters, you know, more than 10 million now, think he does. I mean, jeffrey lord will like the fact im quoting ronald reagan. Essentially he has the Republican Party, anna, left you. I mean, are you seeing the Republican Party moving with donald trump here . Its an interesting question. I think the Republican Party is responding to a poor field morrismore so than transgender bathrooms, agree with him. Trade policy, i happen to agree with him slightly on that shooch issue. It sounds like youre voting for trump. Im voting green party. I cant vote for trump or clinton. For me, trump does not the fact he resonates with me is the problem. You can say that. So you end up with this guy who suddenly is the nominee who the party doesnt actually like that much. I think thats going to be a major problem for him. Guys, thanks so much. I have to talk to bobby knight. No offense. K with an n . K this time. Hoosier state, joining us now is legendary basketball coach, bobby knight. Thanks for being with us. Three national titles, one olympic gold title. Where does this rank for you, this win . Well, what its like for me is that i am very, very happy for the United States of america that donald trump has been able to get where he is, just simply because i think he is the best person for the job. And i am very, very pleased that he has gotten to the point where he is right now. You say he is the best prepared for the job. What has prepared him to be commander in chief . Well, i dont think there is i was a history major in college. I have studied a lot over the years and read and looked and watched, and i dont think that weve really had anybody that has been on the verge of coming into the white house that was as well prepared as donald trump is. You look at all the businesses that he has had. All of the jobs that he has created. You know, were worried about jobs right now. Probably nobody in america has even come close to setting up as many jobs for people with his businesses as donald trump has. The thing that i really like about him among many things is that sometimes things have gone awry, even for him. But he has always been able to find a solution. He is like a guy that we cant were not doing very well against the press. We have to figure out how to beat that press or were not going to win the ball game. He has a great facility for being able to find things that will correct whats going wrong. And thats what i think that we need. I think that well have a great rapport between Donald Trump White House and the military. All phases of the military, which is something that we just dont have right now. Coach, donald trump also, no stranger to controversy. Neither are you for that matter. Donald trump has made a lot of controversial statements, right, among other things, he says he wants to temporarily ban muslims from coming into the United States. Does that concern you . Well, no, i mean, what does i dont even know what cont controversi controversial means. Preventing people coming to the United States. Thats okay, you that really doesnt mean anything to me right now. Because were talking about a guy that i think can handle things far better than anything that weve had recently. You know, ill tell you one thing about donald trump. There will never be a benghazi in a donald trump administration. Im not sure in my lifetime ive seen anything where our government failed to do something for people overseas that were in trouble. That wont happen with donald trump. Those are the things im concerned with. Donald trump has no military experience as far as i know. Donald trump has run failed businesses too. He has known failure. You know, that doesnt make any difference, whether he has been in the military or not. He has a great understanding about the value of our military, and how it would be used. And donald trump would have made sure that those four people that died in benghazi, nothing would have happened to him to them with a donald trump administration. I wonder what difference donald trump could have made there, but i understand youre making a point there. So i appreciate that. Temperament, does temperament matter for president . Well, you must be a genius, then. That seems the way youre addressing things. Oh, no, ex oh, no im. Im trying to ask questions and find out what you find in him that makes you so enthusiastic about him. One of the people say about donald trump, they question his temperament. Do you think he has the temmermete temperament to be president . I dont think so. I think donald trump has a great approach to life. He has a great approach to america. He loves the country. I think that as i look at donald trump and i look at things that weve had in the past, and i look toward the future, i think this is a man that has done an awful lot of things that not very many other people have done. He is not just a national figure. He is a worldwide figure. I think that people across the globe are going to be thinking right now with donald trump as the president of the United States, its going to be a different approach that theyre going to have to make to our country. And i think there is going to be a bigger respect for our country. Do you think donald trump needs to do outreach now to try to heal some of the rifs in the Republican Party . I dont care about the Republican Party. I dont care about the democratic party. You know, im tired of this party stuff that were going to do whats right for this party or do what is right for that party. Lets just get together and do whats right for the country. I think thats what all of us want. Bobby knight, thanks so much for being with us this morning. Appreciate you taking the time, sir. You bet. All right, the good stuff is next.
