Happening today, a new protest is planned in baltimore at the Police Station where officers brought freddie gray some days ago. Somehow, gray suffered a severe spinal cord injury exactly one week later, on sunday he died. Yesterday, baltimore released the names of six officers involved in arresting and transporting gray. All six of these officers are now suspended with pay. New witness, coming forward describing that arrest as baltimores mayor vows to find out what happened leading up to the fatal injury. I heard the young man screaming, get off my neck. Get off my neck youre hurting my neck. And then two cars pulled up shortly after that. One car door slammed and then another. They must have went to him where he started hollering and screaming a little louder and the police say shut the f up. There cant be any assignment of blame, but were going to get to the bottom of it. We know when he was first in our custody when he first engaged the Police Department he was alive. He was responsive. When medical attention came to mr. Gray he was unresponsive and not breathing. Were going to figure out what happened. Mater said by may 1st the results of the investigation will get to prosecutors who will decide whether to file criminal charges. Now, the Justice Department has announced it is opening up a civil rights probe before the investigation is even complete. Our National Correspondent Miguel Marquez is coverage the protests and has the very latest. Reporter john an incredibly emotional evening near baltimore with up to 2,000 people turning tout see for the first time the parents of freddie gray who show showed. Up here. This is mr. Gray was eventually brought. His parents, miss mother in particular are overwhelmed by grief. They marched over to the point where he was arrested. At that point, everybody raised their hands in protest, in a moment of silence, as the family literally, all you could hear is hear them wail. Some of the people in this neighborhood still focused on this. Im going to show what you that protest looked like. Hands up dont shoot i want you to lift those hands up as high as you can. I want this to be a sign to the Baltimore City Police Department that this is not an act of surrender. But were coming as a sign of strength as one human being one commitment that we will not rest until we get justice for freddie gray. Reporter at one point then protesters then did start walking through the streets of this area of west baltimore. They tried to grab the mike. They were very aggressive even towards us. But they werent angry at the press. They were angry at the police they were angry at the mayor. People say it was us against this neighborhood what they want are the six officers implicated in this charged with first degree murder they say they will be back tonight, back on thursday they will go to city hall they say and stay there unless they get justice. Now this morning, the ousted president of yemen is promising a return after the Saudiled Coalition declared an end to a nearly monthlong air campaign against Houthi Rebels. But warned that they believed the saudis believed that had been reached with the houthis. That is the houthis would put down their weapons and leave their cities. They are taken by force, the houthis attacking the only Yemeni Military base that they didnt control. The houthis were supposed to put down their weapons and leave the towns like that. That is clearly not happened. Is this particular incident an isolated case of the rest of the houthis going to abide by the agreement that the saudis think that they have . At the moment its very much in the balance. One of the things that have been agreed was that one of the principal houthi supporters the ousted president would also leave the country and the army there that had been loyal to him, would also put down their weapons. So all of this at the moment john is very much something that could change to this day. But the understanding so far has been that these air strikes will end. And president hadi of yemen addressing his people this morning saying he will come back to yemen and they will hope to rebuild the country and heal the wounds that have occurred over the past few weeks, john. Good morning, john, this happened in the town of taiz the houthis apparently in that city a city that theyve taken control over about a month ago, tried 0 get control over the only army base that they havent been able to sort of overrun until now. They were in the process of doing that. Saudi air strikes and then the air strikes seemed to have haunted the houthis in that. But it does seem that this ceasefire if you will is in a very sad state of affairs. The saudis thought yesterday they had agreement from the houthis to do what theyve been asking for for some time which is for the houthis to put down their weapons. Pull out of cities like the town of taiz like the port cities the important port city in the south like aiden, to put down their weapons and pull out. We are learning from saudi sources as well that the expectation that the former ousted president who had been backing the houthis with yemen part of the deal was that he would leave the country. The saudis believe that is being honored, that hes leaving the country, even the defense minister arrested by the houthis they believe is being released so that was also part of the deal. But it seems like some part of the ceasefire are impact but some of the houthis on the ground abrogating that deal. Eye avery tenuous situation. Not clear if the cessation is going to hold. The iranians of course dont trust the United States. The u. S. Has said any sort of Nuclear Agreement would not be one based on trust. It would be one based on verification. Of course the situation in yemen is something that could complicate that further. And that standoff at sea, the iranians said they have never had any inclination to move their ships. They said theyre on a piracy mission. And they believe further trust between the United States and themselves is something that could happen in the future.
