Dozens of flights are canceled and delayed after a computer glitch on friday. A critical system went down for an hour. 50 flights were canceled leading to long lines and some frustration. The system is back up and running. Officials at heathrow are exp t expecting flight disruptions well into saturday afternoon. Jim reports for us, authorities still dont know what caused the problem. London is in chaos when it comes to flights. For an hour, earlier in the afternoon, the entire air Traffic Control system throughout the London Region went offline and many flights were canceled and delayed. Many flights had to be diverted. Airlines like british airways, easy jet are telling passengers to check before they come to airports, their flights could be disrupted. Many passengers are, of course, frustrated. They werent given enough information from the airlines of what happened. And there were conflicting reports of how the system could fail. Some were saying power failure, some saying a computer glitch and technical glitch. It may have gone on for an hour. Flights were in the wrong place, delayed, diverted, passengers trying to scramble to get where they want to go. Authorities say it could be well into saturday afternoon until things get back to what could be normal. British airways say they will refund anybody who isnt able to fly. The response by authorities swift and tough. Some in the crowd destroy property. Eventually, the National Guard is called in. A week and a half half browns death, a grand jury begins investigating whether charges are warranted against officer wilson. The investigation goes on months as do the protests. In late november, the grand jurys decision. No probable charge exists to file charges against officer wilson. Within hours the fears are realized. The nonviolent majority drown out by the Destructive Forces of a few. Another tragedy was playing out in yet another city. This time in cleveland. This confrontation between police and a 12yearold boy seen in this video, he is waving a pellet gun around a park in cleveland. A witness calls 911. By the West Boulevard transit station. A guy with a piston, pointing it at everybody. Police respond. They fail to delay a vital piece of information, it could be a fake gun. The officers ordered him to show his hands and to drop the weapon. The young man pulled a weapon out. Thats when the officer fired. Reporter 12yearold rice is pronounced dead at the hospital. The death is ruled a homicide. A week and a half after the death and emotions from ferguson smolder. Another high profile case was coming to a conclusion, the death of eric garner. Garner, taken down by a new york city Police Officer with what appears to be a chokehold died shortly after the altercation with police. His death, ruled a homicide. The grand jury investigates whether charges would be filed against the officer who did the takedown. After three months of proceedings, they decide not to indict. Cnn new york. The mothers of these four men who died spoke exclusively with cnns Anderson Cooper about their tragedies. Anderson started off asking ta mirs mother about her 12yearold sons shooting Death Outside the cleveland rec center. I want to start with you. Today, the medical examiner declared his death a homicide. Take me back to the day you first heard of the news. How did you hear it . They came and knocked on my door and said the police shot your son twice in the stomach. The police didnt come to your door, just two kids . Two kids. Did you believe it at first . I did not believe it. My 16yearold ran out the door before i did. I was in disbelief until i saw my son laying on the ground and the police surrounding him. Theres audio thats been released of tamirs sister screaming, they killed my baby broth. Mmhmm. They killed my baby brother what happened when you arrived on the scene . When i arrived on the scene, like i said, i seen my son laying down. Nobody was doing anything. They was around him and standing there. My other son was thrown against the car. They were trying to retain him. We were probably 30 feet apart, me and my 16yearold and me and tamir was maybe 30 feet apart and i was probably 20 feet from my daughter because she was already in the back of the car. They put her in a police car . Yes. They put her in a police car. She was actually in the police car looking at her brother just bleeding there and nobody doing anything. As a mom, do you i mean a video was released. Is that something you watch, as a mother . Yes. I watched it. I had to watch it. Im the one that released the video. They had to get permission from me to release the video. Why did you want people to see that video . I think its important that the world knows whats going on with my son. Hes only 12. A few seconds of arriving on the scene they cared him more than anything. If you could look at it, they scared him more than anything. When they pulled up, he jumped up and they shot him. Thats what i seen. Just hearing this is hard for you. This is hard. A 12yearold, not even a teenager. Thats horrible. For a mother to see her child laying dead in the street. I know that was unbearable. I remember early on, you and i met and you were talking about your son, Trayvon Martin and one of the things you felt strongly about is that immediately authorities, police were trying to paint a picture of who he was and paint a negative picture of who he was. Is that something you see happen to all these moms . I noticed that they blame the victim. A lot of times, that gives people a kind of ease and kind of justifies why it was done, regardless of what these kids were doing or even what mr. Garner was doing. Its minor. Those are minor things they were doing and should not have cost them their lives. I talked to the head of the police union in new york and if your son just allowed himself to be arrested he would be alive today. My son never resisted arrest. He had his hands up in the air as he was talking with the police. The police never told him he was under arrest. He was just asking them to stop harassing him. For what they were about to arrest him for, like, okay, he did sell loosy cigarettes. He wasnt selling them that day. He broke up a fight minutes before. Thats why the police was called because someone was fighting and he was breaking it up. But, when the police came, they looked past the fight and went straight for him. So, you know, they were why would they do that . When you heard the Police Officer had testified that he didnt use a chokehold on your son oh, please. What would you call it . He called it a takedown. If it was a takedown, why when he took him down, he continued choking him, mashing his head against the ground . The rest of the Police Officers on him. The video plainly shows how long he had his hand around my sons neck. He had no regards for his life. It was like it was a thrill kill for him. He never let up off of him. Now, was that just a takedown . I dont think so. Next hour, more of andersons exclusive conversation with these mothers. You will hear eric garners mother talk about her reaction when she found out professional athletes were wearing tshirts that said i cant breathe. They were the last words garner said to police before he died. Next here on cnn, a gunman is on the loose after wounding four young people in oregon. What police know about the man they are looking for. Well have that. The hunlt is on in oregon for a man suspected of shooting four young people outside a high school. Police say the suspect was seen running with two other men and that he may be affiliated with a gang. Some of the victims managed to make their way into the school after being shot. Three are in the hospital. The School Systems website says the high school enrolls 200 students who have been expelled or dropped out of public high school. Many are also homeless. Torrential rains reeked havoc in california yesterday, burying homes and forcing people out. It was the second day of a fierce storm slamming the pacific coast. We have more from one of the areas badly hit. Its almost unfathomable thinking im walking through and at the height of a chimney. A rock slide roared through here. You have at least ten houses in this area red tagged, meaning they are uninhabitable. How does it happen . Because the hills were saturated with rain from earlier in the fall. Last night, a lot of rain in a short time. You had incident here where they put up the krails, concrete barriers. It blue them out. Where im standing, the rails are buried. What was the key recipe in all this . You can see it, the charred skeletons of trees. A fire burned through here a year and a half ago. That fire loosened up the hillside and stripped it of all vegetation and made the area vulnerable to a rock slide. Last night, after a year and a half of preparing and fearing the worst and putting up the krails, we had this slide, this rock slide. Some call it a mudslide. Its billions and billions and billions and many tons of rocks just like the ones you see me standing on right now. As you can see there, people got out. Some had to be helped out. Some elderly people as well confused about what happened in their neighborhood. We are also seeing remarkable video of a tornado that touched down during fridays storms in southern california. The rare tornado brought winds of up to 85 Miles Per Hour friday morning. The twister damaged a few homes. Oh, my goodness. And downed trees in los angeles. And yes, that is the sound of beeping. I dont know. Maybe theres cursing because people arent used to tornadoes. We are in the National Weather center as we look at this and see the palm trees. This isnt oklahoma. This isnt arkansas or the southeast where this normally happens. This is astounding footage. Every time i see the roof get obliterated by what is actually a weak tornado, im blown away. No pun intended. This is amazing. You talk about the rarity of this occurrence in and around the suburbs of los angeles. We are talking the entire state of california only receiving, on average, in a year, four tornadoes. That being one of them. By the way, natalie, this is one of the weaker tornadoes we have on a scale. Its the enhanced fujita scale. I stopped the radar loop from yesterday, friday morning, pacific time, when the tornado occurred outside the city of los angeles. This is the scale that i was mentioning a moment ago. Most common in california, ef0. That is the weakest of tornadoes that could happen. That was the case with this tornado, but you can see the damage that occurred. Can you imagine if it was ef5, 200 Miles Per Hour winds plus . That happens, believe it or not. The storm that is responsible for the tornadoes and the rock sides out of camarillo. Theres mountain snow over the sierras. Its going to clear things out for the weekend. This system has actually created interesting phenomenons in arizona over the grand canyon, believe it or not. This is called a total cloud inversion. We have beautiful pictures and footage coming out of this area. Look at that. I can explain what is happening out there. A phenomenal sight. This is a time lapse. Looks like a tide flowing in and out or a witches bubbling caldron. The cool, damp air is trapped in the canyon space by a warm layer of air above it. This is creating an inversion layer. That is when temperatures actually warm with height. Now, thats not normally the case as we go up in altitude. We typically have temperatures that cool. When we have temperatures that warm with altitude or height, thats when we have an inversion. The trapped clouds in ravines, canyons like the grand canyon creating a spectacular sight. Natalie . She auditioned for the cosby show back in the 1980s. After meeting at cosbys new york city apartment, she says the night took a turn for the worse. Johnson spoke with cnn. So, when i when we went up to the living room area, where he had this elaborate cappuccino or espresso, he offered me a cappuccino before we played a scene i was to play a drunk woman. I didnt know that had anything to do because the part was for a pregnant woman. I said okay. He made this cappuccino. I was just looking at him and i just asked him the question that you are a mess, arent you . Beverly johnson is the 23rd woman to come forward with accusations about cosby. Cnn reached out to his attorney for comment. We have not heard back yet. A man confessed to killing 39 women because he was addicted to murder. He said it happened over a ten year period. We have the report. Reporter the 26yearold man was arrested in Rio De Janeiro for stabbing a woman to death. In custody, he calmly confessed, this was far from his first murder. I killed just for the pleasure of it, he says. I would kill, then leave. I would kill, stay there a bit, then leave. He agreed to be interviewed by journalists at the police station. I started robbing purses and things like that, little things, he says. As i got older, i started having different thoughts. My thoughts started changing. With virtually no emotion, he went on to say from stealing, i started thinking about killing. At 15 i robbed purses or 16. By the time i was 17, i killed the first person. I felt that adrenaline, the first woman. He told police he killed a total of 39 women, stalking them for months. Police must now investigate his claims. He has not been charged. Speaking to journalists, he claims to have killed a 2yearold child, strangulation and stabbing, his preferred methods. He told the newspaper, his only regret was killing the child, yet he was forced to because the crime was so loud as he strangled the mother. As for the others, no regrets.
