Now Law Enforcement in anaheim are warning demonstrators not to repeat that behavior. I want to go live now to cnns sara murray inside the Anaheim Convention center, and tell us, sara, what is trump saying about how this all went down last night . Reporter well, brianna, as usual, donald trump is not mincing any words. He took to twitter to talk about it saying the protesters in new mexico were thugs who were flying the mexican flag. The rally inside was big and beautiful, but outside criminals. Right now here in anaheim it seems a little bit more tame outside. There are a couple of protesters, but, of course, as we know, these things can build as the day goes on. This might be a little bit calmer because it is the middle of the afternoon in anaheim versus an evening event, but clearly tensions running high as they usually are when donald trump goes to a very populated city center and especially like Southern California where there is a very high latino population. Sara murray, thanks very much. Well continue to watch that in anaheim along with you. There is a new hike for the democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton. Shes holding her own rally right now in buena park, california. Its just a few miles away from the trump event. A justreleased audit shows clinton violated federal rules by using a private email server to conduct state business while she was secretary of state. The Inspector General report says, quote, at a minimum secretary clinton should have surrendered all emails dealing with Department Business before leaving Government Service and because she did not do so, she did not comply with the departments policies that were implemented in accordance with the federal records act. Cnn justice correspondent evan perez is joining me live on this. This was a pretty long report. What are we learning . Reporter well, brianna, one of the more interesting findings in this report actually is the fact that the Inspector General says they could find no nobody in the legal staff at the state department or anywhere else who was consulted by the clinton by mrs. Clinton or her staff before she set up this private server and decided to use this private server in her home in chappaqua, new york, as her only email and her only Computer System while she was secretary of state. They said that there were a couple of people, lower level staff who raised some concerns about this back in 2010, and when they raised questions, they were told that it was completely fine, that it had been approved and that they should never bring it up again. The other another interesting finding is that the Inspector General asked for cooperation from mrs. Clinton and her staff and they declined to cooperate. Now, it should be said that mrs. Clinton and her staff did do interviews with the House Committee thats been investigating benghazi, and, of course, they are now cooperating with the fbis ongoing inquiry which is still ongoing. We do have a statement from brian fallon, the Campaign Press secretary that says in part the Inspector General documents just show how consistent her email practices were with those of other secretaries and senior officials at the state department who also used personal email. The report shows the problems with the state departments electronics record system were longstanding and there were no precedent for someone in her position having a state Department Email account until after the arrival of her successor. Contrary to false theories advanced for some time now the report notes that her use of personal email was known to officials within the department during her tenure and that theres evidence of a breach of the server. Thats an important point. The Inspector Generals report did say by the fact that she used this private server did essentially expose government secrets, sensitive government information by using this server. You know, security one of the biggest concerns here. All right. Etch perez, thanks so much for that. Well, Hillary Clinton getting some tag team help in her brawl with donald trump. Senator and fellow senator Elizabeth Warren slamming donald trump about the predictions it of a forthcoming Housing Market crash. Here he was in an audio book produced for trump university. I sort of hope that happens because then people like me would go in and buy, you know, you know, if youre in a good cash position and im in a good cash position and then people like me would go in and buy like crazy. If there is a bubble burst, as they call it, you know, you can make a lot of money. Well, warren is accusing him of cashing in on the housing crisis. Heres what she said. Donald trump was drooling over the idea of a housing meltdown because it meant he could buy up more property on the cheap. What kind of a man does that . Ill tell you exactly what kind of a man does that. It is a man who cares about no one but himself, a small a small insecure money grubber who doesnt care who gets hurt so long as he makes a profit off it. What what kind of a man does that . A man who will never be president of the United States. And trump fired back. Listen to this. He had a pocahontas comparison with warren. Take a look. Hillary clinton has somebody to did you ever hear of pocahontas . Its pocahontas elizabeth war n warren. She is going out, probably the senator thats doing just about the least in the United States senate. Shes a total failure. She said she was an indian. She said because her cheek bones her high and she was an indian, that she was native american and, you know, we have these surrogates, people like her, total failures. Lets talk about this now with austan goolsbee, a Hillary Clinton supporter and economic adviser to the candidate and barry bennett. Hes the Senior Adviser for the Trump Campaign and also the former Campaign Manager for dr. Ben carson. I do want to talk about what Elizabeth Warren said in a moment, but, barry, this comment, this response from donald trump where he references pocahont pocahontas. Its very offensive to native americans. Do you can you defend him saying that . Well, i mean, its it was Elizabeth Warren who pretended to be a native american, not donald trump. Thats what i he was pointing to. But hes clearly using the word pocahontas in a pejorative way. Its a man who follows Elizabeth Warrens lead. She flipped five houses bought at foreclosure from people who couldnt afford to pay and profited from it and she did it and now she wants to blame donald trump for talking about it, she did it, put money in her own pocket from peoples misfortune. Austan, what do you say about that . Look, thats totally outrageous. Its true. Im personal friends with Elizabeth Warren and have been for many years. You heard on the tape donald trump not just as if he were cheering, literally cheering, saying i hope there is a housing collapse. Now, he didnt know when he said that that there would be as big a housing collapse as happened so, fine, well give him that, but this move is just so classic donald trump. When he does something wrong, immoral, subject to criticism, just try to change the subject and personally insult whoever it is that said it but, and i dont fault him. If i had said the things that he had said, i wouldnt want to be talking about those things either. I just think its outrageous to try to personally go after Elizabeth Warren. Well, barry, can you readdress what you didnt answer which is the use of the phrase pocahontas or the word poke hadntios in a pejorative way. Is that defensible . Well, hes just pointing out that she fraudulently claimed hes using a pejorative term. Hes obviously using a pejorative term and trying to totally change the subject. Elizabeth warren leveled a pretty serious charge, content charge at donald trump that he had cheered on the housing crisis. Let me respond to that charge on the housing crisis. And he started in with his native american bit. Elizabeth warren lined her pockets by buying houses that people couldnt afford to pay their mortgages on and flipped them for money. Okay. Were going to fact check that Going Forward. Weve heard you say that. Please do. Okay. I do want to ask you, austan, Hillary Clinton, her strategy right now is to paint donald trump as someone who profited off of the financial crisis but you have her husband having signed this bill into law that deregulated wall street in a way that very clearly helped cause the 2008 crisis. Does she really have a leg to stand on here . Well, i think she has a leg i would make a distinction. Many things went wrong with the deregulation of wall street. Theres no question about that, and even former president clinton himself has identified that he would not do it the same way, but that does not in my view create the housing bubble because the housing bubble comes sometime after that and there were a lot of actions made by the Bush Administration to allow well, but he signed this bill into law that allowed credit default swaps to not be regulated, derivatives and so essentially these things were in a bit of a black box to wall street regulators. This is something i dont disagree with that. This is something it wasnt Hillary Clinton who did that. No, certainly, it was her husband. It was not Hillary Clinton who did that. I think its kind of outrageous to suggest that everything that bill clinton did, including things that he later said i wish he hadnt gone that way, that youre going to pin to Hillary Clinton. I just think thats not appropriate. Okay. So we hear you on that certainly. Barry, i do want to ask you about something that trump said when he was in new mexico last night. This is about new mexico governor Suzanna Martinez, a republican. Heres what he said. Since 2000 the number of people on fooled stamps in new mexico has tripled. We have to get your governor to get going. Shes got to do a better job, okay . The governor has got to do a better job. Shes not doing the job. Hey, maybe ill run for governor of new mexico. Ill get this place going. Okay. Ouch, if youre the governor of new mexico here, barry, but i want you to know what you think about this strategy or if there is a strategy because he is going after not only a member of his own party, but this is a woman. This is a hispanic woman, two demographics that he really needs to make inroads with and this doesnt exactly do that. Why is he doing this . Shes been going after him now for a couple of months, so, you know, they dont support each other. Weve all known that, but, you know, i mean, he comes to her  state and she refuses to meet with him and, you know, thats fine. She can she can do whatever she would like in the general election, but hes got plenty of support in new mexico. Hes going to win new mexico. Were you of the impression that he cared if women or hispanics or other minorities were upset at him . Mean, he said a series of unbelievably outrageous things about all of those groups. Really . What . Austan, what specifically are you referring to . He said mexicans were rapists and murderers. He said this yesterday in new mexico. He has said mexican immigrants to the United States were rapists and murderers. Some were. He happens to be factually correct, some were. He did say yesterday referring to some of these protesters, barry, outside of outside of the event that they were thugs. Yeah. That they are carrying the mexican flag and that some of them are criminals, and it sort of harkens back to some of those comments. I guess i would ask you now that hes pivoting towards the general is he really how is he making inroads with these very important groups that the republican president ial candidate needs to attract, at least some support from . You know, its not political discourse to throw rocks and bottles at police doing their duty. Its not political discourse to not everyone was. To rush and shoot out a door. Thats thuggary and thats what happened yesterday. Real quick to you, austan. I agree ive got to get this in. We only have a minute and i want to ask you about Hillary Clintons emails. Yes, in this report from the Inspector General it says certainly that, you know, we know about some of the practices of some of the other secretaries of state and the campaign is saying she just did what they did. I know thats also debatable, but shes been trying to say im transparent on this and yet she through a lawyer declined to sit for an interview with the Inspector General when other secretaries of state did. How does she argue thats transparents . Im an economist, im not a lawyer. I dont know much about the president ial records act law. It is my impression that previous secretaries of state had personal email and that they didnt turn over their emails when they left office but that Hillary Clinton here in this case turned over tens of thousands of emails, but i i dont really know what the law is on those points. Lets go now to cnns Paul Vercammen outside of the Anaheim Convention center there. Tell us what youre seeing there. Were seeing some protesters, but everything looks to be peaceful. Reporter its peaceful so far, brianna. Right now we have a shouting match that broke out between some Trump Supporters, and we also have some antitrump protesters. We apologize if you see any expletives on signs. We will give you a tensecond flavor of what this sounds like. You need to go back to mexico. Thats just a little bit of a flavor of whats going on here, and well show you the Police Presence, brianna. Its really quite overwhelming. Just off to my right, this is the Anaheim Police department, and you can see that they have their riot helmets handy. They have set up an extensive, extensive maze of barricades. Not only the police tape, but there are these metal barriers all around the Anaheim Convention center. We have also seen an abundance of police on horseback. We have seen motorcycle officers, and if you look you can also see the plastic flexible handcuffs that they like to employ in an emergency if they need to make arrests, and the warning has come down from the police department. They said if theres any destruction of property, they said if anybody is caught, you know, with a violent act or blocking traffic, they are not afraid to make arrests, but so far its rather small here today and police and others are very happy that this is a daytime middle. Day event, noon, because they feel that some of the protesters, demonstrators, feel confident that they can pull off more violent protests under the cover of darkness, brianna. Paul was outside. Sara, we know that trump has been fundraising on his west coast trip, but you actually have some news about republican donors and how they are getting along with trump. Reporter thats right, brianna. Donald trump has just started to begin fund raising, and because he really didnt have a team of his own, the rnc, the party has really taken the lead on building the folks who will be building out the structure, building out who attends these fundraising events, and theres a small group of trump loyalists who are not entirely comfortable with this, do not belief that the party is 100 necessarily behind trump and if we come to october and donald trump is down seven points the party will help that money to help senate and house candidates and essentially to leave donald trump out to dry and the interesting thing about this right now trump and the party are supposed to be working hand in hand. They are all supposed to be coming together, but what this tells you is theres still a lingering sense of mistrust amongst some of Donald Trumps most loyal backers about working this closely with the Republican Party. Sara, normally you have a candidate and donors have a lot of sway over the candidate, trying to make sure that donors feel comfortable with thing. Are you getting any sense that these donors have sway over donald trump . Reporter well, i think any anyone can Say Something to donald trump and they feel like he listens, he takes their opinion, but ultimately this is a candidate that does what he wants at the end of the day and scene that in how he was going to selffinance his campaign and switched positions and will now raise money in the general election. Everyone knows he can go to him and whether he listens is an entirely different story. Coming up is the head of the Democratic National committee on thin ice . At the center of a political battle between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, is Debbie Wasserman schultz at risk of losing key support within her party or perhaps even her position at the dnc . Yeah, i mean, obviously everyone is talking about how do we land this plane, and when will the plane land and how bumpy will the landing be . There may only be quiet conversations happening in the halls of congress right now, but the repercussions could send shock waves through the Democratic Party. Senators are discussing whether dnc chairwoman Debbie Wasserman schultz should be removed as the head of the party saying that shes become too toxic in the ongoing and growing divide within the Democratic Party. Now, the dnc head is under fire specifically for comments that she made on cnn. She criticized Bernie Sanders tepid response to chaos that was sparked by his supporters at the nevada dreamtic convention and even compared it to a donald Trump Campaign event. Cnn senior political reporter manu raju is on the hill for us, and you actually just spoke with senator claire mccaskill. Tell us what she said. It wasnt exactly a ringing endorsement of Debbie Wasserman schultz. Reporter absolutely not. Claire mccaskill is one of Hillary Clintons earliest supporters on capitol hill and the senator recognizes that there is an issue here. Bernie sanders camp knows and believes that Debbie Wasserman schultz has not been fair. They believe that shes tilted the scales in Hillary Clinton camps favor and claire mccaskill, like other senators, want to head into philadelphia with a united party. Mccaskill would not california on Debbie Wasserman schultz to step aside, but she came pretty close, brianna. Well, i think it will get worked out over time. The role of the dnc chair is always a supportive role, not a starring role, and i think because of what has occurred its hard for her to avoid a starring role, and so i i hope it will all get worked out. I understand that fair or unfair shy is seen by many in the sanders camp as a representative of a problem and, you know, that may not be completely fair to her, but its a reality. Reporter now, brianna, i can tell you i asked her also about the discussions happening on capitol hill. She said democrats are trying to figure out how to land this plane right now and one of the ways to land the plane is to how to deal with the Democratic National committees chairperson. Other Democratic Senators are not willing to throw Debbie Wasserman schultz a lifeline either. I talked to Chuck Schumer, the number three democrat and the presumive leader in the next congress and i said do you have confidence in Debbie Wasserman schultz as the chairwoman and he said no comment and that speaks volumes on their confidence in Debbie Wasserman schultz. I know were hearing from the Clinton Campaign that she, clinton, supports Debbie Wasserman schultz, but you would think that someone who is so tied to the campaign isnt exactly doing this in a vacuum, right . Reporter you would think that. She says shes acting as most senators do as an independent agent but clearly as we move forward, the Hillary Clinton camp is going to have to consider this Going Forward as they discuss with Bernie Sanders the way his role at the convention and try to alleviate the concerns from the sanders camp. You have to think that this is on Clinton Campaigns mind because, after all, they are the ones at the end of the day that are going to make this decision. Brianna . Manu, thank you so much. A short time ago on cnn senator Barbara Boxer reacted to the calls for Debbie Wasserman schultz to step down saying shes heard nothing about it on the hill and the other senators who are talking anonymously need to show their faces. Well, let me just tell you after years and years 40 years in elected life, if you believe something, look in the camera and say it. Dont do some anonymous dont quote me because you know what, thats wrong. If someone has a problem with deppby, chamter and verse what is it . Cnns senior washington correspondent jeff zeleny joins us. Lets put this into what would happen if this goes down, some trying to push Debbie Wasserman schultz out there and senator boxer saying if you want this to happen there needs to be a groundswell for it. What woe this do to the Democratic Party and convention thats here very soon as they are trying to unify the party if Debbie Wasserman schultz were to go . Brianna, first and foremost we did just hear that from manu raju right there. When Chuck Schumer says no comment, if the chairwoman of the Democratic National committee would stay in her position, youve covered capitol hill for a being lo time, no comment means that he is not supportive of her here so there are plenty of people who, you know, believe this, but to your point about Going Forward here. Ive been talking to a lot of people. This is going to be sort of three people, three groups will make this decision, the Clinton Campaign, the Sanders Campaign and the obama white house, sort of three different leaders of this Democratic Party now, and there are some who say, look, we dont want a big leadership fight right now. The ultimate question is who could they all agree to, but, again and again when you talk to people, it comes up that if this is one way to get unity, if this is one way to get Bernie Sanders on board then this could be worth it and a possible exit strategy for the chairwoman of the party is that she has her own primary fight in florida. That primary is in august, so she, you know, could always say shes running she needs to focus her attention on that hard here. Its hard to imagine who they could find who could reach consensus here. If this is one way to unify the party, this could actually happen, brianna. Jeff, stand by for me for just a second. I do want to toss to some sound that we have of Hillary Clinton just moments ago taking on donald trump. He said profiting off working people losing their homes would be a, quote, good result. So a good result in Donald Trumps world is he gets his and you get hurt. So instead of dividing americans, we need to unite americans and one of the ways im going to do that is by promoting more infrastructure jobs because the state of our infrastructure is a national emergency. We have bridges that are right now too dangerous to drive on, although people take a deep breath and drive across them. We have roads that are so rutted and pitted and potholed that people driving them are having to pay hundreds of dollars to repair the damage. We have airports that are stuck in the mid20th century instead of the 21st century. We have water all right. Lets go back to jeff zeleny there in california. Youre hearing her make this argument, jeff, against donald trump, like she has been trying to turn what he is touting as his business acumen into casting him as a businessman predator type. Is this something that you think has legs or that the campaign feels is really going to be effective for them . Brianna, the campaign does feel this is going to be effective. Weve seen this argument for the last 24 hours or so and seen democrats across the party echoing this so this is something thats a concerted effort from the Clinton Campaign, but all along Hillary Clinton has been trying to say shes a fighter for you. You may not like me as much as some other people, but i will fight for you. They are trying to point out here that donald trump is in it for his own success, that hes not fighting for you. They are trying to go after some of the independent voters, voters in the middle, who are sort of settling into the idea, you know, donald trump could sort of disrupt the system and might be just fine. Shes trying to get that back and really point out going right to the heart of his strengths here by saying, look, he was in it for himself and not fighting for you. Brianna, the thing is theres so much audio and so many words and so many interviews that donald trump has given over the years, this is one piece of it about the housing situation in 2008, so this is going to be a sound track of Donald Trumps campaign. Her campaign is going to be a sound track of his own words her, sort of throwing them back at him but the Clinton Campaign believes this is effective. Of course, voters will make that ultimate judgment. I suspect there is a library of those comments that we will see doled out over the coming weeks or so. Jeff zeleny, thank you. No doubt. Next, moments from now, donald trump is expected to speak in anaheim, california. This is up day after violent protests erupted outside of his rally in new mexico. Were live outside and inside. Outside police are giving a warning to protesters there. Plus trump ripping apart a republican governor on her home turf. This is a governor who is mention the as a possible running mate for trumpet was this a bad move on trumps part . Everything your family touches sticks with them. Ultimately city leaders took no action and before that Trump Supporters clashed with opponents in the crowd and on the council. This is just a statement saying to the residents of anaheim who have been on the receiving end of those attacks we dont agree with the rhetoric thats been used, and weve got your back. This is not the job of City Government to get involved in politics. Election, federal election politics. Not the place inside city hall. Well, how is the city now preparing for today . With me now to talk about this is Anaheim Police Sergeant Darren wyatt, also the citys Public Information officer. So, sergeant, we see some of the protests behind you. So far this has not erupted into any chaos that we see but what are you doing . What is the department doing, and youre looking off to the right, sir. What are you seeing . A lot of people are moving over to that direction. It just appears that theres some secret Service Agents moving through the area. The police are there. Nothing really to look at. Just had to take a look and make sure were okay here. You asked about the preparation, up staffed and called on mutual aid partners and have a large Anaheim Police presence as virtually every Municipal Police Agency Within Orange County has sent us resourced to help with this event. Were hoping for a very peaceful event and are prepared should it go a different direction to take swift and decisive action. Im sure when you were discussing this with your officers and how youre going to prep for an event like this where weve seen chaos elsewhere that youre talking about who the protesters are. Do you think that these are local folks . Do you worry that maybe people are coming in from outofthearea to maybe stir up some trouble . I think any time we have an event like this its a mixture of both. Theres a group of local people that will come in and protest and weve seen that they do come in from other areas and are encouraged to come in by certain entities that want to see this go a different direction. Kind of a mixture and not that big of an event and i think weave got maybe 15 protesters out here and were well under control and were prepared to deal with t. Weve seen some video of the measures your department is taking. Seen bigger barricades and some appear to be plastic, almost like a plastic rope in a way and then theres also the bicycle racks which are connected. They also have zip ties to use for handcuffs should they need to. What how are you prepared to handle this . You saw what happened last night in albuquerque . Im sure that you looked at that and studied that. How are you prepared to deal with protesters if they do try to push their way in . Well, i think that we have a much larger presence here than what was there last night from what i saw, and thats not knocking them. I think that we have prepared significantly for the event. We do have plenty of Police Personnel on scene. We also have officers on horseback which is an Excellent Way to assist us in moving a crowd in a direction that we need them to move and block them from gaining access to certain areas. The airsia that are demarked and blocked off thats the secret service protected zone so thats not something that weve done, something that the secret service has done it but it has helped us to try to separate the attendees from the protesters so that we can try and avoid a conflict thank you so much, Sergeant Darren white, we do appreciate the update, and next a highly respected republican governor says she will not be bullied into supporting donald trump, so in her state trump takes her on. Your governor has got to do a better job. Shes not doing the job. Hey, maybe ill run for governor of new mexico. Ill get this place going. Joining me now is dan boyd, the Capital Bureau chief for the albuquerque journal. Dan, before we get to this relationship between the governor and donald trump, i know you were at this rally last night. Tell us what that was like. It was surreal almost being inside the Convention Center there and Governor Martinez was not there at the time but then having, you know, donald trump come to new mexico and take her on and insult the governor kind of on her own turf, so to speak, was a pretty interesting experience. It certainly was and, of course, we were watching that for sure. I do want to provide some context here because theres been a little bit back and forth before trump said this. The martinez camp is saying that the governor wont be bullied into supporting trump, but shes really been at odds with him over a lot of his immigration positions, his talk about building a wall. Whats this dynamic between these two . Yeah. I can mention this has been kind of an ongoing back and forth. Shes been noncommittal. Hasnt said whether she will support him and is also the chairwoman of the republican governors association, a national group, that is working to get republican governors elected this fall so shes kind of kept an arms length from mr. Trump, but i think it got a little more personal and maybe nasty last night. And this idea of her not going to the trump rally, she was asked, you know, and i should say it was rumored at one point that she might be on the vp list but she said no, thats not going to happen. She was asked why shes not going to the rally and she said, quote, shes really busy, and i hear that and it seems like the equivalent of someone being asked on a date and they say i cant go because im washing my hair. Certainly this was felt as a snub an intended as a snub, right . Thats right. Were all really business, and usually if a prumpive nominee would be in your state you would make an effort to be there. She wasnt traveling out of state yesterday and it was perceived as a snub and certainly donald trump responded in kind. I think a lot of people are looking at this and they see Suzanna Martinez. Shes a prominent female politician, a very prominent hispanic politician, two groups that donald trump needs to court in new mexico and states in the west and other states as well. How do you think this back and forth plays . Does this affect his attempt at getting some support, if there is such a attempt, with some of these groups out west . I think certainly here in new mexico it could complicate thing. Suzanna martinez is a republican but shes won here in a state that voted for barack obama twice and certainly instead of extending the olive branch, you know, mr. Trump went out of his way to insult her so were still kind of seeing how that plays out here, but i think we can put to rest that speculation, at least for now, the Vice President talk. Does this really have to escalate far beyond this to affect her campaign . Brianna, this issue has been out there for more than a year. Most people who, you know, have already have a problem with this or do not have a problem with this have probably made their minds up but this is a scathing report from the Inspector General. Hillary clinton told you last summer in july i believe it was in that interview in iowa that she followed the rules, that she did everything permitted. This report is contradicting that in its entirety. They said she did not alert people or have permission to use this, so and the clinton is trying to say theres old news and nothing to see here. Thats not necessarily true here. This is a very direct report saying that in fact she did not have permission andy that did not follow the rules here. Now, are democrats going to suddenly be worked up by this . Perhaps not, but look for donald trump to seize this and run with it. Now, Bernie Sanders hasnt, and we dont think hes going to. His advisers say hes not going to weigh in here. That may be one of the biggest mistakes he makes. His supporters believe he should have done this. He always said, look, im not going to go there. He so colorfully said basically enough with your, you know, the emails. Damn. At the debate, so, you know, he took it really off the table there. Dana, i want you all to weigh in on this a little bit, but dana, there is this war going on inside the Democratic Party. You have Debbie Wasserman schultz. She slams Bernie Sanders and really for what his supporters did in nevada. There was some chaos there and now you have some senators who are talking about removing her from the dnc. Are you seeing this as really a groundswell, like do you really think that Debbie Wasserman schultz could be on her way out . I wouldnt call it a groundswell, but i definitely based on my reporting, jeffs reporting and others here would call it a real conversation and it really does go to the heart i mean, theres lots of issues and lots of several sort of factions of democrats have different issues with her, but when it comes to the current moment in time it is all about Bernie Sanders and about the fact that he has been at war with her since the beginning of his candidacy. Did not think that the party treated him fairly when it came to the scheduling of the debates, how many debates there were and many other issues. So, what we are certainly hearing, both from senators on capitol hill is and others is maybe some tepid support, but at the same time there are those who are going out there saying, wait a minute, were not going to just throw her under the bus to placate Bernie Sanders. You saw very important not just members of congress but female members, starting with the House Democratic leader, nancy pelosi, the dean of the senate women, Barbara Mikulski saying we strongly support her, and i just got off the phone with a Democratic National Committee Man who was talking about the fact that she has a lot of support inside the dnc. Has there been talk about maybe her going to another another job . Yes, of course, but that at the end of the day there is concern about two things, one, her being looking like shes sort of sacrificed on the altar of Bernie Sanders. That was the words of the source and, two, this is going to be another problem for Hillary Clinton because, as jeff can tell you, and you know this, both of you guys, that she is if she does become the nominee, it is going to be up to her to help decide who is the head of the dnc, so its another issue that shes going to have to deal with. What would this look like, nia, and were so close to the convention at this point in time, what would this look like if Debbie Wasserman schultz were to go . Its important to note, as dana does, that there are a lot of folks supporting her still, but what would that look like . How would that play out for party unity even if its something that Bernie Sanders might want to see . It certainly doesnt paint a pretty picture of what might be going on in the party. pa and jeff have certainly done some of this reporting as well, the democrats ive talked to said the snare can aio would be if she does go it would be after the convention and typically when you install a nominee of a party, it is their choice to put someone in new. Now, all along its obviously been the thing that Debbie Wasserman schultz would stay there, but in some ways it has been sort of an open secret in washington that the white house hasnt always looked on her tenure there positively, and even Hillary Clinton and people in her circle have oftentimes had problems with her tenure. So what i have heard is that it would happen after the convention, and in some kays it would it would probably be sort of a unifying thing of this is something that Bernie Sanders seems to want, has been pretty adamant about it and that even Hillary Clinton might want that after the convention they would install somebody new and sort be a symbol of party unity. I think to the average voter, you know, the average general election voter, stuff like this could sort of be in the weeds, but it would be a scenario that plays out in the summer before Debbie Wasserman schultzs primary. Remember, shes up for election and she would have time to pivot towards that, but well see. Again, here we are talking about the democrats and unity when all the all the thinking was that the republican primary and the Republican Convention could be a mess but the democrats obviously have work to do of their own, particularly with this post, that Debbie Wasserman schultz has with the dnc. How can i possibly win . Every single ad is a negative ad, and most of them are false. There was a little truth to some of them, ill be honest. But for the most part they were false, and i was being hit by everybody. I was being hit by the republicans. I was being hit by pocahontas. Thats pocahontas. Pocahontas, thats this Elizabeth Warren. I call her goofy. She is no, no, goofy. She gets less done than anybody in the United States senate. She gets nothing done, nothing pass the.
