A divided United Kingdom is days away from deciding whether or not to remain in the European Union. Both sides resumed campaigning ahead of thursdays referendum, holding rival rallies in london. Opinion polls show voters are evenly split on the question with the remain camp recovering some momentum. Prime minister David Cameron is leading the remain campaign, and he has stressed the Economic Impact of leaving, warning a vote for brexit will leave britain permanently poorer. Proving through this referend referendum, right, that britain wants to leave this o, we can. We are a sovereign country. We choose to join nato or choose to join the eu. If we choose to leave, we can leave. Lets be clear if we do leave, thats it. Were walking out the door. Were quitting. Were giving up on this organization, which even if we leave, will have a huge effect on our lives, on our children, on our opportunities, on our businesses. And i dont think britain at the end is a quitter. I think we stay and fight. And former london mayor Boris Johnson is on the leave side of this argument. He urged supporters to seize what he called a onceinalifetime opportunity to change the course of european history. He said taking back control of britains destiny is the issue, not immigration. Im not only proimmigration. Im proimmigrants, and i am in favor of an amnesty for Illegal Immigrants who have been here for more than 12 years, unable to contribute, unable to contribute to this economy. Unable to pay taxes. Unable to take proper part in society, and ill tell you why. Because it is the humane thing to do. It is the economically rational thing to do, and it means taking back control of a system that is at the moment completely out of control. Now, aside from the fiery words about the brexit vote, there are emotionally loaded images as well. A Group Supporting britain leaving the eu produced a poster titled breaking points. It shows crowds of immigrants, queueing up to presumably theres another image grabbing attention, this one from the air. It shows hundreds of supporters of the remain campaign coming together to spell out the word in. This was formed on sunday when the huge crowd turned up in londons hyde park for a rally. Well, the murder of british mp jo cox suspended the Brexit Debate for a few days. Nic robertson is in birstall where cox was killed, and he joins us now. So, nic, as weve seen, campaigning has resumed in the wake of the tragic murder of british mp jo cox. What is being said about the likely impact of her death on how people will vote on the issue . Reporter well, it does seem to be giving some people pause for thought. The fact that the campaigning was stopped, that was a pause that tragedy and the horrific nature of it and the undertones of it have given people pause for thought. And it does seem that some people are beginning to reflect on what they were thinking and now beginning potentially to consider changing their minds. This is what we found out not far from here over the weekend. Gentile tea rooms. Lines already forming. Yorkshire life and harrigate not far from where mp jo cox was killed moves on towards the referendum. But not the same. It has made me reconsider just because of the causes behind it, and i think it should probably be called a racist attack. I was undecided. But it is possibly turning me more to voting in the out. She is not alone. I was going for out before. Now im a bit unsure, and im a bit nervous about doing something a bit different. Reporter and yourself . I was definitely going for out all the way, and i dont i think i was wavering, and i think this has kind of made me think, you know what . Maybe we best stay in. Reporter but men in this beautiful town seem less easily shaken by coxs death. Do you think that the killing of jo cox is going to make a difference on the outcome . No. Reporter why not . I just dont think it will. I think people have made up their minds before that happened, im afraid. Reporter and both convinced leaving the eu, an organization that has at the very least given this tourist town an award for its flowers, is still the right thing to do. In my mind reporter would you tell us . Were going out. Were going out. Reporter why is that . Because this place is in a country that is overrun with too many immigrants, im afraid. So im voting out . Reporter why is that . Because its good to have a change. Its good to mix the pot a little. Reporter this sunday, a 1940s Remembrance Day com emration, a ready reminder of when europe was last at war. Security and economy on peoples minds. Ive already voted, in. Reporter why was that . Because of the possibility of the Financial Impact afterwards. In. Reporter why is that . I just think its a safer option. Ive got no evidence to suggest wed be better off out of it. Reporter it really is too soon to say if and how big an impact jo coxs killing may have. But you begin to get a sense that just at that moment last week when the polls were running for the leave campaign, they were really edging ahead, that sadly the reality is jo coxs murder may may indeed have an impact, a big impact on the future of this country. Rosemary. Yeah. As you say, its a little early to know. But as we mentioned, former london mayor Boris Johnson, he supports leaving the eu, of course. But hes now making it clear that he is proimmigrant, and he supports an amnesty for Illegal Immigrants. How are other brexit supporters likely to respond to this . Have they responded as yet . Reporter i think that really comes into the category of changing the tone. I mean Boris Johnson has all along said that hes not against immigrants, not against immigration. But the fact that is now sort of shading his argument more towards the take back control. There was a debate last week, a week ago now, where that was the central message that emerged from the leave campaign. Take back control. The leave campaign is a relatively Broad Spectrum if you look at all of those organizations, and it does seem the early stages we can see divisions within the leave campaign, and certainly the issue and the tone over how immigration is debated, those on the sort of more right of the leave campaign who seem to focus a lot more on immigration and made it such an emotive issue. And i think Boris Johnson is really trying to pull back the narrative for the leave and bring it more centrist, take it away from the right, because thats the outcome of jo coxs murder is a sense that the leave campaign is too much to the right. Very e moative on the issue of immigration. I think were seeing Boris Johnson trying to reset and take control and take hold of that narrative now for the leave vote. Yeah. Our Nic Robertson joining us there live from birstall. We will chat again next hour. Many thanks to you, nic. Appreciate it. Well, the Cleveland Cavaliers are this years nba champions. It is the teams first title. But above and beyond that, its the city of clevelands first title in any sport in 52 years. Cavs star lebron james famously made his return to cleveland with a championship in mind. On sunday, he got his wish, finally hoisting the trophy for his hometown. People in cleveland are celebrating in the streets. Our andy shoals was there when the championship drought finally ended. Reporter after 52 years of sports misery, the fans here in cleveland hoping, praying that this would finally be their year. And when the final buzzer sounded, the city erupted with pure joy. [ cheers ] 52 years of frustration. This is what makes it. Its wonderful. Finally we did it. Cleveland is finally champion. We turn to iraq now and the governments fight to drive isis from fallujah still rages. An operation to seize the key city west of baghdad began in may. Iraqs Prime Minister said friday that the city was liberated. But a cnn crew saw firsthand that fighting continued through the weekend. And an ngo is warning that the battle has led to a humanitarian disaster. The Norwegian Refugee Council says that in addition to the thousands who have already fled fallujah, some 30,000 people have been dollaisplaced in just last three days. Our ben wedeman is now in baghdad after being in fallujah over the weekend. He spoke to us earlier about iraqs efforts to take fallujah back from isis. Reporter you have to just compare it with prior experience. For instance, the last iraqi city that the army and other iraqi forces were able to take back from isis was ramadi, also in anbar province. That offensive began on the 25th of november of last year, and it wasnt until basically early february of this year when it was completely pacified. So this has been a fairly rapid operation. It began with the encircling of the city and, of course, its not just the city itself. Its the villages and towns around fallujah, which arent small. Ive been to many of them. Some of them have several thousand inhabitants. So it takes time. And once they actually went into the city, starting from the south, once they got a foothold in those neighborhoods, it appears their ability to get inside to the center of the town and only two neighbors remain under the nominal control of isis in the north of the city. So its not actually been a slow theyve gone about it deliberately and sort of neighborhood by neighborhood, but its actually been a fairly fast operation compared to other operations that preceded it. Our ed lef endara has the details. Reporter when this event was organized a week ago, the organizer tells me that she expected maybe 100 people to show up. But on sunday night here in downtown orlando on the banks of the lake, some 50,000 people turned out for this Memorial Service and candlelight vigil for those who were killed and gunned down in the deadly shootout there at the pulse nightclub a week ago. Residents in the area are under a mandatory evacuation order. Officials say the size of this fire doubled within just a matter of hours. Joining us now by phone is fire captain Isaac Sanchez at cal fire headquarters. Thank you for talking with us. Now, under these very difficult circumstances, a mandatory evacuation as a result of this fire doubling in size, talk to us about just how big it is, then, exactly, and how long it will likely take to get this under control. Well, right now the fire is sitting at about 1,500 acres. It is threatening currently threatening about 25 to 30 homes although 80 additional homes have been evacuated in front of the fire. As far as how long its going to take for us to take this one under control, were going to be out here several more days at the very soonest. We do have several more days ahead of us of 100degree temperatures, and were going to be, you know, giving it everything we have until then. And, sir, can you give us an idea on just how people in the area are being affected by this fire and where theyre actually going as a result of this mandatory evacuation and the number of people were talking about here. Well, i dont have the number of residents that were specifically evacuated. Just the number of structures. Although auz can imagine, any kind of fire that comes through or anytime anybody rouses you from your home and asks tao leave in a hurry, such as we did today, its a major impact. We do have three Evacuation Centers set up in the area, and they have essentially mostly been going over there although some have been staying with family. All right. Captain Isaac Sanchez, appreciate you talking with us at this particularly difficult time. Thank you. Lets get more on these temperatures and these fires. Pedram jauf hairy joins us now. Our meteorologist, of course. The temperatures are incredible. Absolutely. I mean beyond belief really. And thats helping to fuel all of this. But its interesting what the captain was saying, that maybe this fire will be under control in a number of days. Yeah. When you look at those temperatures its hard to believe, right . In a place like california near the coast like santa barbara, you get an onshore winds, your temperatures are impacted dramatically versus an offshore winds. Rosemary, i often talk about how the human body does a good job acclima acclimating. Folks that live in hot environments, the sweat content is different. The volume of sweat is different. You look at the temperatures wharks theyre expected to see. Some of these records have been standing for decades. Phoenix could get up to 116 degrees. Las vegass 115 would be a record. Winslow, 108 would be a record. Again, you factor in whats happened in the environment here, you know the fire, the coverage of fire, an incredible amount of land has been consumed. You do the math on this. Its about 60 square miles of land that has been consumed. That is larger than the size of the city of San Francisco of how much of an area were talking about that has been destroyed by the fires in recent days. Were talking about cooler temperatures to start off the first day of summer. If youre watching us around western portions of europe, you know what were talking about. Thursdays referendum will decide whether or not britain stays in the European Union. Our teams in london have been following the two sides of the Brexit Debate. Becky anderson tells us more about the leave camp rally. Reporter there are just days to go until british voters will be facing a monumental choice, whether to stay or leave the European Union. Campaigning got started again on sunday. The first planned event for the leave campaign since the murder of british mp jo cox began right behind me today. The mood amongst participants at the rally was muted, perhaps understandably given what happened to jo cox. What had been evident in recent weeks watt the ratcheting up of the rhetoric, the use of divisive language, its tactic to focus on the highly contentious issue of immigration, using language some have described as vile, brimming with hate. While headlining the leave rally today was the former mayor of london and leading brexiteer Boris Johnson. Recognizing the surprise it may cause, he chose this moment to say, i am proimmigration. My friends, i am the proud descendant of turkish immigrants, and let me stun you perhaps by saying i would go further. Im not only proimmigration. Im proimmigrant. Im in favor of an amnesty for Illegal Immigrants. An attempt perhaps to ratchet down the rhetoric that has come to define the leave campaign. Well, possibly so. We spoke to some of those who attended the event, and this is what they told us. One of the speakers said that europe, brussels, is the most corrupt entity in the on the planet. And i agree with him. Its totally corrupt. The atmosphere was absolutely electric. I was involved in the 2014 umbrella revolution in hong kong where we slept in the streets for many, many weeks. In the uk, looking around, people dont care about giving democracy away, even putting it on a plate and hand it over to the eu. Reporter becky anderson, cnn, london. Just across london, the remain camp rallied in hyde park. Our Richard Quest was there. Reporter it was called the big in photographic event. Bringing together up to a thousand people in hyde park to stand in outline and spell the word in, which was then photographed from the air. A clear message of those wanting to remain within the European Union. But before the proceedings got under way, there was a moments silence to remember jo cox, of course, who was murdered last week. Whether or not there is any connection between the cox murder and the referendum still hasnt been fully understood. However, both sides accept that the tone of the debate so far has been too nasty and too vitriolic. And Stanley Johnson, whose son, Boris Johnson, is leading the leave campaign Stanley Johnson told me it was time to change that. Id like to see us go ahead now, vote to stay in. But this is the crucial point. Make it absolutely clear that on some of these key issues like immigration, we are going to go back to brussels and say, look, the time has come to take another hard look at the Free Movement rules of the treaty. They cannot, in my view, be sustained the way they are. Im talking about article 45. It has to be looked at again. Thats another reason to stay in because if we have a unilateral exit, that wouldnt help a lot of people who want to see these changes. I happen to be the optimist who thinks we help take control of the direction the ship is going. Reporter there are still four days before voting, and thats plenty of time for the whole thing to degenerate once again into namecalling and insults. The issue here is simply vast. As alistair campbell, the former director of communications for the labor party reminded me, for britain, in europe, the stakes are huge. Look at jo coxs twitter feed and look at the things she was saying about the debate. We have to have this argument. We have to have this argument not just about europe but also about what sort of country we are in danger of become if we turn our backs on the world. Reporter before jo coxs murder, the leave campaign had eked out a small but consistent lead in all the opinion polls. Both sides now realize that the new tone of the campaign and the time left in which to get the message across means there is very little room for error. Richard quest, cnn, hyde park, london. South Koreas National Intelligence Service warns isis may be targeting the u. S. Military in their country. The nis says the terror Group Released information about u. S. And nato bases in south korea and is encouraging attacks on military personnel. Our Paula Hancocks joins us now with more from seoul, south korea. So, paula, what more do we know about this and just how credible might these threats be . Reporter well, rosemary, the nis certainly thinks theyre credible enough that they felt they had to make this statement. Its not very usual for the Intelligence Agency here to be publishing this kind of information. But they say that they believe isis has details on 77 different u. S. And nato air force facilities around the world. Also individuals in 21 different countries, including south korea. And they have publicized those details internally on their telegram messaging service. Theyve called on their supporters to carry out attacks against the air force bases and also the individuals. There was one air base in particular thats mentioned here in south korea, osan air base, which is just about 40 miles south of seoul. Nis has also mentioned one individual, a south korean who is from a welfare organization. They dont say why that person has been individually targeted. They say they are receiving protection at this point, and they have warned the u. S. Military here in korea. And to show that it could be considered credible, certainly the u. S. Forces in korea is taking it very seriously. Theyve just released a statement saying that u. S. Forces korea takes the safety and security of its installations very seriously, saying that they remain prepared to respond at any time to any emerging threats. Rosemary. Paula, why south korea . What are authorities saying about that . Reporter well, certainly the statement seems to say that there are installations around the world being targeted. South korea is among those that have been targeted, and it is, of course, the south korean Intelligence Agency thats saying this. They also have been having a problem with isis sympathizers recently. They say over the past five years or so, about 50 foreigners have been deported because they had links to terrorist organizations, the nis believed. They also say two south korean citizens were caught trying to join isis. In fact, at the beginning of last year, there was a teenager that traveled to turkey, believed to be trying to get into syria to join isis. At this point, authorities the last weve heard, dont know where he is. They assume he could well be in syria. So certainly this is an emerging problem for south korea. Certainly not on the scale that you see in other countries. But a threat that the South Koreans arent used to. When they think of an attack on their soil, they think of north korea. They certainly dont think of isis. But the nis is pointing out that thought process has to change. Rosemary. Certainly. Paula hancocks keeping us up to date on that story. And new security worries in france after a series of embarrassing lapses at the european football championship. Hello and welcome to our viewers here in the United States and all around the world. Thanks for joining us. This is cnn newsroom. In just a few days, the uk will hold a crucial vote on its future, deciding whether or not to stay in the European Union. Campaigning picked up sunday with rallies in london. This one pushing to stay in the eu. British Prime Minister David Cameron is leading the remain campaign. He has stressed the Economic Impact of leaving, warning a vote for brexit will leave britain permanently poorer. Proving through this referendum, right, that if britain wants to leave this organization, we can. We are a sovereign country. We choose to join nato or choose to join the eu. And if we choose to leave, we can leave. But lets be clear if we do leave, thats it. Were walking out the door. Were quitting. Were giving up on this organization, which even if we leave, will have a huge effect on our lives, on our children, on our opportunities, on our businesses. And i dont think britain, at the end, is a quitter. I think we stay and fight. Across london, there was another rally for the other side of the Brexit Debate. Former london mayor Boris Johnson says taking back control of britains destiny is the issue, not immigration. Yes. Let us take back control of our borders with a sensible, fair, and impartial system. And let me take on this issue absolutely directly because i am proimmigration, my friends. I am the proud descendant i am the proud descent ant of turkish immigrants. Let me stun you perhaps by saying i will go further. Im not only proimmigration. I am proimmigrant, and i am in favor of an amnesty for Illegal Immigrants who have been here for more than 12 years. Unable to contribute, unable to contribute to this economy. Unable to pay taxes. Unable to take proper part in society. And ill tell you why. Because it is the humane thing to do. It is the economically rational thing to do. And it means taking back control of a system that is at the moment completely out of control. And the brexit campaigning resumed after a threeday pause following the murder of british mp jo cox. We are covering all angles of this with max foster in london and Nic Robertson in birstall, where cox was killed. So lets start with you, nic. Campaigning has resumed as we mentioned in this final week for those who want to leave and those who want to remain in the eu. But the tone has changed as a result of the murder of british mp jo cox. What impact is her tragic death having on voting and, indeed, on campaigning . Reporter yeah. A lot of people weve talked to here, rosemary, are happy to here that the tone has changed. They really felt that the nature of the debate was becoming very divisive. Of course what we saw earlier last week was the leave campaign was beginning to edge ahead in the polls. They really had the momentum. But jo coxs murder put a stop to their campaigning. It appears to perhaps have put a stop to that momentum for the leave campaign. This is what we found out talking to people around here over the weekend. Gentile tea rooms. Lines already forming. Yorkshire life and hair oh gate not far from where mp jo cox was killed moves on towards the referendum, but not the same. It has made me reconsider just because of the causes behind it. And i think it should probably be called a racist attack. I was undecided, but it is possibly turning me more to voting in than out. Reporter they is not alone. I was going for out before. Now im a bit unsure, and im a bit nervous about doing something a bit different. Reporter and yourself . I was definitely going for out all the way, and i dont i think i was wavering. And i think this has kind of made me think, you know what, maybe we best stay in. Reporter but men in this beautiful spa town seem less easily shaken by coxs death. Do you think that the killing of jo cox is going to make a difference on the outcome . No. Reporter why not . I just i just dont think it will. I think people will have made up their minds before that happened, im afraid. Reporter and both convinced leaving the eu, an organization that has at the very least given this tourist town an award for its flowers, is still the right thing to do. Would you tell us . Were going out. Were going out. Reporter why is that . Because the place is harrogate is not too bad, but this place is in a country that is just overrun with too many immigrants, im afraid. So im voting out. Reporter why is that . Because its good to have a change. Its going to mix the pot a little. Reporter this sunday, a 1940s Remembrance Day kmem rati commemoration, a ready reminder of when europe was last at war. Security and economy on peoples minds. Ive already voted in. Reporter why was that . Because of the possibility of the financial and impact afterwards. In. Reporter why is that . I just think its the safer option. Ive got no evidence to suggest wed be better off out. Reporter its really too soon to say if or how big jo coxs death may impact the outcome of the referendum. But youre beginning to get an idea here that perhaps perhaps her death really at this time when the leave campaign was edging ahead may actually shape the future of this country. Rosemary. Its certainly going to be interesting to watch that. Nic, i do want to ask you about former london mayor Boris Johnson because he has adjusted his message as part of his campaign to leave the eu. Hes talking now in terms of being proimmigration. Hes saying that he even supports an amnesty for Illegal Immigrants. What has been the response from other brexit supporters to that message . Reporter well, i think theres a sense that the message needed for most of the sort of brexit supporters, the message needed to become more central. Theres a real concern about the tone of the message that has been put out by some of the sort of more on the right side, if you will, of the brexit camp. The Uk Independence Party had released a Campaign Poster that had showed large numbers of refugees waiting to try and get into across the European Border and the slogan was breaking point. It was really felt that was divisive. Boris johnson has said all along he does support immigration. Yet just a week and a few days ago, he launched a new proposal for how to tackle immigration, a point system to control immigration and really the leave campaign had been having the immigration as one of their central issues that have become heated, have become divisive. But they seem to be shifting more and more over the last week even br jo coxs killing towards the take back control. Theres a sense there that the take back control message, take back control message from europe is a winning message for them. Nic with that live report from birstall, england. I want to go to max foster now for more on the memorials being held for jo cox. How are people responding to the circumstances leading up to her murder and, of course, the impact its having on how theyre feeling and how they intend to vote . Reporter its interesting. Theres a remembrance, if youd like to call it here, as parliament here today. Theyve had to recall parliament and all the members of parliament to come back here, which is very rare indeed. That shows the sense of feeling here amongst her colleagues in westminster. Also some talk about a new arrangement for seating just for today. So that all different Political Parties can move between each other and sit wherever they like and mix it all up to show that this is not a partisan issue. Everyone feels the same way on this one issue, this very contentious time in british politics. At the same time, were hearing some people from the labor party where jo cox is a member, saying that actually they want to sit together because theyre so affected by all of this. And after the remembrance there in parliament, theyre going to go up to a small church for a smaller service. So a very powerful sense of loss here in westminster. Theyre trying to mark it in what way they can. Theyre also talking about setting up a memorial, a permanent memorial here in westminster. And theres a charity page has been set up for her. Theyre raising money. I dont think theyve quite worked out exactly which causes its going to go to yet. But in just a few days, theyve raised 1 million, rosemary. That really expresses how her death has affected everyone from whatever political persuasion. Yeah. It certainly does. Just shocking circumstances there. Max foster joining us live from london. Nic robertson in birstall, england. Many thanks to both of you. Well, the Cleveland Cavaliers captured their first nba title sunday. It was a thrilling game from start to finish, and the end result is history. Its the city of clevelands first major sports title in 52 years. So i guess i can just check my credit score then . Oooh check out credit karma today. Credit karma. Give yourself some credit. Sorry about that. Welcome back, everyone. We want to turn to iraq now and the governments fight to drive isis from fallujah still raging. An operation to seize the key city west of baghdad began in may. Iraqs Prime Minister said friday that the city was liberated, but a cnn crew saw firsthand the fighting continued through the weekend. The United Nations says up to 84,000 people may have fled the city since the operation to retake it began in may. Our ben wedeman joins us now from baghdad with the very latest. Ben, you are just back from fallujah in fact. Can you explain to us what civilians in the city or enduring at this time . Reporter well, the situation, rosemary, is dire. Theres no other way to describe it. Theres an unknown number, perhaps 10,000 or more civilians still stuck inside those northern neighborhoods of fallujah where isis is still in control but where the battle is still raging. Theyre clearly in very difficult condition. We spoke to one soldier who saw some of the saw civilians fleeing. He said they were clearly suffering from lack of food, lack of clean water, and they were obviously traumatized by the fact that they were fleeing their homes in the middle of a battle. Now, if you just look at the statistics were getting, the numbers are disturbing. The Norwegian Refugee Council, which has been active in trying to alleviate the situation around fallujah, says that since friday, in just three days, 30,000 people fled the city of fallujah. Now, this is overwhelming the facilities that have been set up by the Iraqi Government and other ngos. Were hearing of one camp where 1,800 people have been located, and it only has one latrine for women. Weve been to some of these camps, and its bare bones at best. Some of the people say they have enough to eat finally. They have some medical treatment, but thats about it in terms of facilities or amenities. And the expectation is its only going to get worse, that theres as i said, theres still people inside the city desperate to flee, and it doesnt appear that the facilities that have been set up are enough at all for them. Yeah, indeed. And, ben, i did want to ask you this, too, because iraq a Prime Minister as we reported was a little premature saying that fallujah had been liberated. What benefit is there in making such an announcement . Why would he do that . Reporter well, we should point out that much of the city has been now a large Iraqi Military presence in it. Its just those northern neighborhoods where the fighting continues. But, of course, there are pockets of isis snipers and others who are scattered around the city. And oftentimes youll go into an area where its thought its secure, and its not. But why did the Prime Minister make that announcement . Well, for one thing, they have made progress. And certainly when it comes to clearing the city, its been much faster than anyone expected. This is not an easy operation. It began on the 23rd of may, and the iraqi forces methodically cleared the villages and towns around fallujah. And then once they had a clear sort of iron grip around the city, they started to go in. So its partly for reasons of politics that he wanted to declare a victory, but iraqi officials concede that theres still fighting to be done, and theyre doing it. Rosemary. An important point for sure. Ben wedeman joining us live from baghdad, who just recently returned from fallujah. Many thanks to you, ben. Well, monday is World Refugee day, and the United Nations says the number of displaced people around the world has reached more than 65 million, a record high. That is equivalent to one out of every 113 people on earth. The u. N. Says on average, 24 people were fleeing war and persecution per minute in 2015. Thats four times more than the rate a decade earlier. Four young Asylum Seekers told cnn how they survived their grueling journeys and what its like to live stranded at a refugee camp in greece. In florida, thousands came together in downtown orlando sunday to remember the victims of a mass shooting at a gay nightclub. Theres been an outpouring of love and support from around the country. But in orlando, a simple coincidence proved to be the most poignant memorial yet. A rainbow, a universal symbol for lgbt rights, appeared above the crowd. And that wasnt the only surprise at the event. Our ed lavandera explains. Reporter when this event was organized a week ago, the organizer tells me he expected maybe 100 people to show up. But on the banks of the lake, some 50,000 people turned up for this Memorial Service and candlelight vigil for those gunned down at the pulse nightclub a week ago. An unbelievable sight of outpouring of grief and public emotion here at this vigil h. Staggering to see the numbers of people who have come out here to show their support for the survivors and the victims and victims relatives as well. But monday will also be a day where we learn much more about what happened inside of the pulse nightclub more than a week ago. Authorities plan on releasing transcripts, partial transcripts of the conversations they had with the killer during the attack inside of the pulse nightclub. So that is news that will emerge here later on today. Ed lavin scare ra there. Donald trump thinks profiling is needed in the wake of recent terror attacks. His reasons for the controversial stance coming up. The euro 2016 football tournament has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons. How security failures are overshadowing the games. Thats next. Stay with us. And a warm welcome back to you all. Youre watching cnn cnn newsroom. Im rosemary church. I want to update you on the stories weve been watching this hour. In afghanistan, at least 14 people are dead after a suicide bomber struck a mini bus carrying security guards. The attack happened in the capital kabul. At least eight people were wounded. Initial reports suggest most of the victims were nepalese nationals. The taliban has claimed responsibility for the blast. An american man says hes found more possible plane pieces from Malaysian Airlines flight 370 on a madagascar beach. Earlier this month, Blaine Gibson told cnn he found probable plane debris in the same location. Gibson says hes also discovered what could be personal effects, including phone cases and a backpack. The wait is finally over for the city of cleveland. Their calf leavaliers won the championship bringing the city its first title in any sport in 52 years. Lebron james led the way as they won a rematch of last years finals against the golden state warriors. Donald trump is sparking controversy yet again with calls for profiling. The Presumptive Republican president ial nominee says profiling muslims should be a consideration after the recent terror attack on a gay nightclub in orlando. Well, i think profiling is something that were going to have to start thinking about as a country, and other countries do it. We really have to look at profiling. We have to look at it seriously. And other countries do it, and its not the worst thing to do. I hate the concept of profiling, but we have to use common sense. Were not using common sense. Meantime, trump is facing a possible mutiny within his own party from a group of antitrump republicans. But the presumptive president ial nominee is calling their effort to stop him illegal. Chris frates has the details. Reporter a small group of republican delegates is pushing for the party to adopt a socalled conscience clause that would allow delegates to vote against donald trump. Now, the convention coup has little shot at success for a couple of reasons. Number one, trump has installed his own loyalists on the committee, so hes got a lot of influence there. Perhaps more importantly, there is no alternative candidate to trump. The never trumpers have been unable to find someone, to find anyone to challenge donald trump. But the group and Top Republican whos have been critical of trump have gotten the billionaires attention. They shouldnt be talking so much. They should go out and do their job. Let me do my job. I have tremendous support from both politicians and the people. Tremendous support. Unfortunately the media just likes to cover really a small number of people that maybe have something to say. I think they should go about their work. Let me run for president. I think im going to do very well. Reporter still its trumps own rhetoric that has helped keep the dump trump rhetoric alive. When he doubled down on his policy to ban muslim immigration in the wake of the orlando shootings, Top Republicans again opposed that idea with House Speaker paul ryan even suggesting the house might sue a President Trump to stop that ban. And with the general election under way, republicans had hoped trump would tone it down a little bit and act more president ial, something trump has said hell do as soon as hes president. But many republicans worry that if he doesnt do it sooner, hell never get that chance. All right. Lets turn to weather now, and heavy rains have been batter indonesia triggering landslides. Many homes were buried. Others were submerged in floodwaters. West sumatra was also hit with unusually heavy rains. Thousands more were displaced there. Officials in three u. S. States are battling wildfires. This one is near the u. S. Border with mexico just east of san diego in Southern California. Officials tell us the fire doubled in size in just a matter of hours, scorching 1,500 acres or more than 600 hectares and forcing residents to evacuate. Another even bigger wildfire is also burning in Southern California. Authorities say it may be several more days before its full i contained. Wildfires are also burning in new mexico and in arizona. So we want to get more on this situation, of course, in california. Our Pedram Javaheri joins us, our resident meteorologist. So this is a problem. These temperatures are just extraordinarily high, unusually high in fact. Yes. Then of course youve got these fires out of control, the worst combination. Its exacerbating the problem, absolutely. Today is the First Official day of the summer in the northern hemisphere. So you think about that, and this is happening in the late spring. It makes a very ominous for whats ahead of us potentially when it comes to the length of summer and the problems we could see. Whats fascinating is you take a look at this graphic just comparing this from 2016 to 2015. Were talking about massive flames right now across the western u. S. But look at 2015 in particular. There were actually more fires as of todays date last year and also more acres consumed versus 2016. Of course the heat in place right now in the latter portion of june in 2016 is something that weve never seen for the first day of summer. But you take a look at the amount of acreage consumed here from portions of new mexico into arizona and on into california, you take that size. You measure it into a square mile area, that is actually larger than the city of San Francisco. So an expansive area consumed by fires. And the massive area of High Pressure, a heat dome, a bubble of dry hot air in place here is causing the air to sink beneath it. This area of primary, of course, that compresses the air and warms it up rapidly across this region. Some 30 Million People among heat advisories. Often talk about the seriousness of this sort of event. As far as weather fatalities in the United States, heat is the number one killer in the United States every single year. It takes over 100 lives per year. You think about other places in the world, it is typically flooding that is the deadliest. But in the u. S. Its much more related to heat, and these sort of temperatures could become a lifethreatening situation. I know in phoenix in the past 24 hours, several fatalities have taken place. Some people losing their lives because they were hiking on sunday afternoon, rosemary, when temperatures were into the 40s celsius. Folks are out hiking, and you would think for some its common sense, maybe others like the challenge. But heat is the number one killer in the u. S. It seems, of course, it happens in a couplemonth period. It doesnt happen all year when it comes to heatrelated fatalities. It happens in these months. Definitely something to keep in mind. Thanks so much, pedram. Thank you. The euro 2016 football tournament has seen a number of violent fan incidents already, barely a week after it got under way. In one instance, croatia fans tossed flares onto the pitch, and that is exposing some concerning gaps in security. Our will ripley has more now from paris. Reporter theres more ignition in that flare, and we dont know if hes injured. Reporter they fthrough flars on the field and punches at each other. A handful of croatian fans disrupted the game. Croatias coach called them sports terrorists, but how could a dozen flares get past multiple layers of security. Weve come to another stadium to see how it works. The First Security point is all the way down there. The second and third right through here. You can see the fans of austria and portugal being patted down, and it really makes you wonder if flares can make it through these layers of security into a packed stadium, could explosives also be smuggled inside. Checking 40,000 or even 60,000 people as they converge on a stadium is a huge task. European footballs governing body tells cnn despite thorough body and bag searches at the stadium entrances, it is extremely difficult to completely eliminate the risk that fireworks are brought into the stadiums. For some fans, thats not good enough. If someone can bring firecrackers in and anybody can just bring something a lot more stinster in like i dont wish to mention it, but it could be a lot worse. Reporter last november t nearly was a lot worse when isis suicide bombers targeted the National Stadium of france. They never made it inside, killing only themselves but badly injures others. Fans at euro 2016 say theyre aware of the risk. I think it scares everyone a little bit. But also you cant let that fear get to you. Otherwise, you just stop living. Reporter one of the men accused in novembers attacks told belgian investigators euro 2016 was their ultimate target. A french journalist has attended many of the games. He says some Security Officers are newly hired, inexperienced. Because theres a big threat, a major threat of terrorism, you have to think about reducing the tension and being competent and friendly. They just dont know what to do. Reporter french authorities insist everyone has been properly trained, including these antiterror drills ahead of the tournament.
