Itself, the was a warning yesterday that there may be further restrictions to come. We have probably reached near the british grand prix. Much better than limit, all the limits, of what we can do in terms of opening up society. So what that means, they were yesterday. Our breaks were Northern Ireland pushing into potentially, is that if we wish to Northern Ireland pushing into Northern Ireland pushing into Northern Ireland and scotland, a few do more things in the future we may showers for wales as well. Mainly have to do less of some other dry south of that chris bell and if things, and these will be difficult you thought last night was very trade offs, some of which will be warm, it is easierfor sleeping and decisions of government and some of which are for all of us as citizens then into morning. Social distancing remains the same, we will see you at eight oclock with headlines. With the authorities keeping a close eye on locations like here at brighton beach, where many of us congregate. John mcmanus of bbc news. We heard yesterday from englands chief medical officer chris whitty in that package, saying the easing of lockdown restrictions has probably reached near the limit of what we can do. So what are we to take from his comments . We can speak now to our Political Correspondent tony bonsignore. Hey, welcome to click. Hope you are doing ok. Good to have you with us this this week, we have morning. It is interesting, isnt Something Special for you. You see, every so often it, because on the one hand, there we start investigating has been a real push to try to get a subject, thinking it will make a nice, interesting to some sense of normality, but we five minute film, but then cannot ignore, and the government certainly cannot ignore, the rising we tug on a particular thread number of cases. Good morning. No, and it turns out there is something way bigger absolutely. Remember, it isjust two and way weirder going on than we thought. Weeks ago that borisjohnson was talking of way weirder, heres omar mehtab. Hey, mate. Talking about a return to some sort hey, hows it going . Of normality by christmas. This good, thanks. Feels a long way from that. And so do you want to start off by telling us what you were those comments from chris whitty, i originally sent out to look at . Think they really have potentially big implications. The first one is we wanted to find out how online influencers, the general picture, because what the big personalities chris whitty was essentially saying you see on social media, have been impacted during the pandemic. Is, look, we cant go much further, it seemed pretty if at all, with the easing of the straightforward. Lockdown. Therefore, get used to it, this is the new normality for a yeah, and then things got really interesting, right . Period, at least. Then what he said yeah, it did. We started doing a little bit of digging and a pattern about choices that are going to be emerged of influencers abusing made, choices for us, about half are the trust of their millions of followers for their we follow these rules, but also choices, political decisions. How own financial gain. Far we follow. He said that for our story started here with some example if you want to ease in one of the biggest social area you might have to tighten up in Media Influencers in the world. Another. That could mean really a group called faze clan, difficult political decisions in famous for esports and terms of businesses, in terms of entertainment. Put your hands together social contact, but also schools. Remember, schools in september is for faze clan potentially a big easing. If that is the case, do we need to tighten up they have 230 million elsewhere . A lot of it depends on followers, and were recently valued at 250 million. The rate of infections. Well, i suggest everyone just keeps watching more people are watching, us as we suggest everyone just keeps watching more people have time to watch us as we keep watching the government. Tony, thank you. More, and they want more employers will have to start paying even when theyre done, part of the wage bill for furloughed cause theyre still on their phones, looking staff from today, but that change for content to consume. May be difficult for those businesses that were told yesterday they still cant open their doors here is the thing. Because of a rising number of coronavirus cases. The majority of influencers more than half of the people dont have hundreds of millions furloughed during the pandemic of followers and a slick ceo. Are now back at work, a think tank has suggested. Business reporter Vivienne Nunis has more. The lights have been offered fabric nightclub for the past four months. There are millions of influencers who are sole many nightclub for the past four months. Ma ny staff nightclub for the past four months. Many staff here have already lost traders, and theyre actually theirjobs. 50 people were let go able to make a living with only tens of thousands of followers. Yesterday. The bar staff, cloakroom, cleaners, they have now lost their jobs. The remaining workers have been furloughed. As of today, the business must start paying their the people who are famous National Insurance and pension to you on instagram may not be contributions. Even though, inside, the same people who are famous it is still quiet. The freelancers to me on instagram, because there are millions of them, who have varying have already lost their income. Levels of followers there has been a wave of redundancies already. There is a and influence. Possibility that we may have to make but those millions of mini influencers depend on further redundancies. So there is a smaller brands, smaller deals, and a lot less of them, and we found out that real risk of everyone losing their many of them have struggled job, frankly. Adding to the clubs during the pandemic. Zara mcdermott is one influencer who sits in the middle ground. Was, via stocks going out of date shes gotjust under and an electricity bill costing 1. 5 million followers, and she works with a lot of mid level brands. Thousands of pounds in standing ive seen influencers taking on jobs that i wouldnt charges woes, beer stocks going out of date. From september, employers will have to pay 10 of necessarily see them taking on maybe before the pandemic, staffs wages as they remain on the just because i think theres fellow scheme. In october that a little bit of an air of, increases to 20 before cutting off like, lets take as many jobs as we possibly can. Com pletely increases to 20 before cutting off completely at the end of that month. But this was the moment it the fear is that with so many became so much more. Right at the end of businesses still struggling, that will trigger a wave of redundancies. The interview, critics are calling for more support for the sectors hit hardest. Zara said something which took our investigation to an unexpected new direction. Hospitality, the night time economy, they are really feeling the effects so, since the pandemic began, of the necessary measures that are we found that weve received being taken. A really large quantity of e mails from brands selling of the necessary measures that are being ta ken. Therefore of the necessary measures that are being taken. Therefore it makes sense for them to be given what i think is counterfeit Additional Support and not to be goods, and basically trying to get influencers to market ending the furlough on a one size these on their channels. Fits all basis, but in a targeted and ijust believe that a lot of these brands are trying way, helping those sectors. Today, to exploit influencers during this time, by offering them excessive amounts of money some restrictions were due to be eased with the opening of casinos for very small deliverables. And bowling alleys, and beauty parlour is able to offer treatments and not all of these on the face. Now, though, with a influencers had turned these offers down. Rising coronavirus cases, the government has put those moves on hold for at least two weeks. 8096 of as you can see, i have my new wireless earphones in. Oui hold for at least two weeks. 8096 of i literally use my airpods our business is to do with the face. Every single day. You know, we are renowned for our and theyre all wireless. Facials. Eyelash extensions, we cant do that. Cancellations from the sound quality is banging, really good, and they connect tomorrow. And this is, you know, my to any bluetooth device. Tea m tomorrow. And this is, you know, my team is just in shock. Tomorrow. And this is, you know, my team isjust in shock. I dont even know what to tell them. The now, off camera of zaras interview, her manager, government says it is supporting charli paton, told us close parts of the economy with that her e mail inbox Business Rates relief, tax deferrals was flooded by Companies Offering thousands to get them to advertise knockoff products. And loans. For some businesses, that so we went to find out more. May not be enough to keep going. British Airways Pilots have voted to accept a deal that will temporarily some of the slightly more cut pay by 20 and eliminate 270 suspicious brands that reach out to us jobs. The deal prevents the are often willing to pay, and i know that they do actually pay, a lot more money controversial fire and re hire scheme where staff would have been than the going rate in the industry, added new contracts on worst sometimes even up to conditions. Ba had proposed to make three times the price that wed usually charge 12,000 staff redundant as it for certain promotions. Struggles with the impact of i think that they prey coronavirus. Some of my friends have stores doing hundreds of thousands of dollars a month selling those, right . Someone will spend hundreds lets take a look at of millions, however much money todays front pages. Have to think, if you were asked the professional looking e mails charli showed us, that you would say yes naturally, sent from the mysterious companies, were actually just you would herald the side of saying from bedrooms around the world. That you are a good citizen. It doesnt surprise me, but are they and the shadowy drop shippers were just entrepreneurs saying about is the reason we are trying their luck. Seeing these cases . They themselves like many things, youve got your good guys and youve do not draw any conclusion but they got your bad guys. Say, lets have a look, 31 say they but the problem is, its really easy to be a bad guy when youre an anonymous person distance often, 13 said sometimes, 596 distance often, 13 said sometimes, 5 said not very often. I think we sitting behind a laptop. Can all fall into. Every 5 said not very often. I think we can all fall into. Every category, and gabriel told us how some point. But you try, as hard as some drop shippers can easily scam people. You can, dont you. Yeah, and then i see stores that come you can, dont you. Yeah, and then you forget. There was a warning yesterday but still the mid 20s in the warmer that there may be further parts of the east and south east of restrictions to come. England. And of course, a big day in sport. Although being held very we have probably reached near the limits or the limits differently to what were used to, of what we can do in terms of opening up society. The fa cup final at wembley. This is so what that means, potentially, what it looks like leading up to is if we wish to do more that big match. I am sure the things in the future, players will prefer something cooler we may have to do less to compared with yesterday. Some end of some other things. And these will be difficult trade offs, some of which will be decisions of government, to compared with yesterday. Time now to take a look cautious so many people are going to be so cautious and mindful of what the government are now telling us, and at this weeks film review. Boris johnson said we might be back to some normality by christmas, but the many things that we can take away from what chris and in cinemas. Whitty said, number one is we will have to get used to a new normal. He during lockdown, while everyone said that there are trade offs, was watching movies on streaming services, trailers for unhinged proudly boasted that the film would open in theatres injuly, difficult decisions politically, potentially, for the government over with studio head mark gill calling it the canary which business is to reopen, what in the coalmine for sort of social distancing can the government allow . These are going to cinema reopenings. Be very difficult, particularly as we head towards winter. In schools, in america, where coronavirus borisjohnson said it is a priority continue to spike, unhinged has inevitably had its release to get schools back open. If that delayed, along with potential blockbusters easing is going to open, do we need to see further restrictions elsewhere . I think a lot depends on like tenet and mulan. What happens with the infection rate over the next few weeks. Thank you this garner so much. From this month, employers must pay National Insurance and pension contributions but here in the uk, for their furloughed employees, the Russell Crowe actioner as part of a gradual is now testing the waters as a wide theatrical release, tapering of the scheme. It wasntjust in south east england. Temperatures today 10 degrees or more down by an evil spirit, a spirit compared with yesterday, and i know many people thought yesterday was far too hot. That will come as a relief. Temperatures close to average, close to normal this that now seems to have weekend. We see the weather front set its sight on yakov, contacting him through visions move through this one here. It is and cell phone calls, refusing to let him leave this apparently haunted house. Cooler and fresher behind that. A set largely in a gloomy apartment where light wea k cooler and fresher behind that. A weak front moving across the uk with is replaced by darkness visible, the vigil is at its best when suggesting rather than depicting a few showers today. We start the its brooding horrors. There are a few perfunctory day with heavy rain in shetland. Jump scares here and there, that will clear away. For many of but its the atmosphere of dread, aided by a groaning soundtrack, thats us, it is cloudy now, but see some the films strongest suit. Have you been enjoying it here . Sunshine moving. Showers come back yeah. You see, normally we hire a working couple in the winter, later on towards Northern Ireland, theres a lot of maintenance. Even some rain as we go into the and then theres a strip down, emptying all the vans, evening. These are your temperatures giving them a good scrub. Sounds great. Today. Mainly high teens, late 20s. Theres a hint of dread, too, about make up, an atmospheric it is eastern and south east england british psychodrama from writer director claire oakley. That see this temperatures reaching Molly Windsor is ruth, towards the mid 20 today. We know it isa towards the mid 20 today. We know it is a big weekend of sport. Lipstick smears on the mirror and strands of red hair on toms clothes lead ruth to suspect that shower, but otherwise, no drama for hes being unfaithful. But her own growing relationship with the charismaticjade suggests that if deceptions are at play, the british grand prix weekend. They may be internal outbreaks of rain in northern rather than external. Ireland. Overnight, they will feed shes got a bit of across much of Northern England and reputation, you know . Reputation for what . Into scotland. Some showers to wales, especially towards the north, like its central character, but it be mainly dry with overnight make up is an enigmatic riddle, a film that slips temperatures ten to 14 degrees. If seamlessly between genres. You did struggle to sleep last night on one level, its a coming of age story with the heat and humidity last about someone discovering night, it is going to be different their identity and sexuality. As we start the day tomorrow. A lot but its also haunted of cloud in england and scotland and by horror, with the eerie rain around to start the day. England and wales, some sunshine, crucially, oakley, making her feature debut after helming the chance of a shower but most several shorts, wants to keep places will stay dry. As for the the audience guessing, musing upon how much of this is genuinely mysterious and how temperatures tomorrow, a little bit down compared to today. A little bit much isjust in ruths mind. On the breezy side as well. The big its a strange movie, low on explanation, picture, then, going into next week, big on atmosphere. The area of low pressure misses us, thanks to cinematographer so just the area of low pressure misses us, sojust a the area of low pressure misses us, so just a few showers. The area of low pressure does come in for nick cooke, composer tuesday and that does bring some wetter weather by then but you might appreciate some rain in the garden. Ben salisbury, and sound designer ania przygoda, all of whom lend by appreciate some rain in the garden. By the end of the week, it looks to the air of unease. Ruth, you dont need to go like temperatures are heading again. Ruth thank you very much. You can find make up on curzon home cinema and then a selection of uk cinemas over today was supposed to see further easing of lockdown restrictions in england, but after an increase in coronavirus the coming weeks and months. Cases in some parts of the country, those plans have been put on hold for at least two weeks. The stars have their beginnings and their ends. For a few moments, somewhere in between, so what exactly has been a few, very few may postponed . Casinos, bowling alleys and skating rinks will not reopen today. Support thought. Indoor performances and pilots of larger gatherings in sports venues are on hold, as is the expansion of wedding receptions to allow up to 30 people. The late Johann Johansson was a brilliant composer who was oscar nominated for his scores for the theory of everything beauty treatments that involve the face are also still banned. The government also announced that face coverings will be and sicario. Mandatory in more indoor settings, such as cinemas and places of worship. He was also the director of last and first men, which played at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year however, the plan to pause shielding and is now available for those most vulnerable on demand from bfi player. By tilda swinton, the film uses words, music and haunting footage of abstract monuments from the former yugoslavia to evoke a vision of futuristic those who have been shielding for humanity on the brink months will be able to go out for of extinction. The first time today. The universal end comes in due course. Lets speak to mike tildesley, growing out of a multimedia whos associate professor project unveiled at in Infectious Disease modelling the Manchester International at the university of warwick. Festival in 2017 and completed we have explained what is and is not afterjohanssons death in 2018, last and first men happening. Can you tell us in terms is a hauntingly elegiac work described by its creator of the modelling why this conclusion as a film that straddles has come about and what data are the border of fiction and documentary, a meditation on memory and failed utopia being used to get to this point . We contextualised through the literary mode of Science Fiction. Are ata being used to get to this point . We are at a really delicate phase of the epidemic at the moment. We have seen all right, well, never thought the epidemic at the moment. We have seenin the epidemic at the moment. We have seen in several countries in europe id be saying the last mission before mars, and yet that cases are starting to quite here we are making less significantly rise. It is less so in preparations for the long journey. The uk, but cases have certainly thank you. Plateaued, and there is perhaps some evidence that they are starting to rise, and in some areas we are seeing that the epidemic is starting to grow. What we want to avoid is a situation where we go back to march where we go International Scale the future of mankind, lockdown, and the way we can do or rather womankind, is the subject of proxima, the story of an astronaut that, hopefully, it is with some preparing for a lengthy stint on the International Space slight slowing down of the station in service of a forthcoming mission to mars. Relaxation measures that have been eva green is sarah, a french put in place. Where we start to see astronaut whose presence is not immediately welcomed by matt dillons mike, cases locally rising, putting in a who considers her little more than a tourist. But during the gruelling local restrictions. If they are training procedure, sarah proves that shes more successful, and this is a really big than a match for any man whilst also wrestling with the demands of motherhood and the prospect of saying goodbye to her daughter. If at the moment, hopefully we do written and directed not need to go further, but it is a by alice winocour, who co wrote the brilliant mustang, proxima is a quietly engrossing really crucial phase of the epidemic tale of a woman following her here if we want to try and keep this dreams of the stars while facing the consequences in check and we do not want to go to of her actions on earth. Like last years lucy the large scale measures that we saw in the sky, in which Natalie Portman played an astronaut at the start of the year. We expect unable to readjust to normal life after leaving earths atmosphere, winocours film so at the start of the year. We expect maintains an intriguing balance between the everyday and the out of this world, so much about the r number. When with green doing a terrificjob there are places that have really of portraying the warring low numbers of those infected, say, pressures that her character must face in order one or two in a day, and that goes up one or two in a day, and that goes up to ten, it is still only ten people, so how and what rate or to achieve her goal. Number is being used when it is decided that it is a hotspot area that needs to have measures increased . You are absolutely right. At its heart is a palpable when the case numbers get very low, tension between the anxiety she feels at leaving her child behind and the pride she takes the r number, which is unfortunate because this is the number the in showing her daughter that she, like her mother, public have got very used to can do anything she wants. Proxima all feels very real, thinking about, it doesnt have a not something that can be said great deal of meaning because as you of flash gordon, which celebrates its 40th anniversary rightly said, if you have one case, with a 4k restoration, playing in selected cinemas before coming to disc. You might get a very local infection that, in the following week, gives you ten cases very locally. It flash ahha saviour of the universe doesnt mean very much if the a camp cult classic, numbers are low. What we tend to flash gordon looks even more bonkers now than it did back look at when we are dealing with a in 1980, with the great very low number of cases is what we max von sydow tearing up the screen as ming the merciless, call the growth rate of the disease. While Brian Blessed delivers perhaps the most famous if that number is above zero, it means the epidemic is growing. If we line of his career. Have consistent evidence that the with all his men, he growth rate is over zero, that would couldnt even kill flash. Gordons alive . Ah, they dont make em be something we are concerned about. Like that any more. Thats it for this week. If it is below zero, that means the im off for a few weeks now, but anna smith will be epidemic is decaying and the case here while im away with all the best new movies. Numbers are going down. That is the thanks for watching way we try to analyse the epidemic and stay safe. Locally and react and put in a local are we dreaming . Measures to try to push that growth id like to think so. Rates down again. In really basic terms, what is the difference between the growth rate and the r number . The r number is saying, in broad terms, if you are infected, hello, this is breakfast how many people on average will you with Naga Munchetty and chris mason. Good morning. Heres a summary of todays main infect . If the r number is to come stories from bbc news. On average, one person will affect the further easing of lockdown restrictions in england, to other people. The growth rate is due to come in this weekend, has been postponed for at least two looking at the epidemic as a whole weeks, after an increase and saying, based upon the number of in coronavirus cases. Casinos and bowling alleys will remain shut, as borisjohnson cases i have got, is that epidemic said it was time to squeeze the brake pedal. Growing . Are we seeing that the face coverings will also be mandatory in more indoor settings, number of cases is increasing based such as cinemas. Upon what i have had before . If it is increasing, it means the growth of the epidemic is greater than zero professor chris whitty, and therefore, yes, that is englands chief medical officer, concerning. If the number is warned the uk may have hit decreasing and it is less than zero, its limits on easing restrictions. It looks like the epidemic is dying from this month, employers must pay out. How accurate can you be about National Insurance and pension contributions for their furloughed the severity of the growth rate when employees, as part of a gradual you are taking a place that has say tapering of the scheme. The rising rate of new Coronavirus Infections has forced the government to delay the reopening of some businesses, but its been estimated 196 you are taking a place that has say by a think tank that more than half 1 was affected on monday and that of the people furloughed during the pandemic went to four by friday, when youre talking about such small numbers . Are now back at work. You are right, this is we have to british Airways Pilots have voted look at longer term trends. If you to accept a deal that have a changing growth rate from one will temporarily cut pay by 20 day and extended appears to go up, and eliminate 270 jobs. The deal prevents a controversial what you are looking at is a period fire and rehire scheme where staff of sustained growth over time. One would have been handed new contracts on worse conditions. Ba had proposed to make to two weeks. That is evidence that 12,000 staff redundant, as it struggles with the impact what you are not seeing is a little bit of a variation where it happens of the coronavirus. To grow above zero. Is there evidence that there is a sustained growth in the epidemic which means a 19 year old man from bognor regis, that action might need to be taken along with two other people, have been charged by us prosecutors to curb spread . Talking about action in connection with a major hacking attack on twitter last month. Being taken, when action is being the social media site said its staff were tricked into handing taken is key, i suppose, so how over their details, which enabled the hackers to take over several quickly should it be taken and what celebrity accounts and send messages asking for donations is the tangible result of that . What of the online currency, bitcoin. The two other people to be charged can we see in terms of it being effective . Unfortunately, this is are both american citizens. One of the difficult situations we are in at the moment. We know that the son of media boss Rupert Murdoch has resigned from the board there was an awful lot of criticism at the moment of the governments to lay back in march in terms of going the Bafta Television awards into lockdown. We know from an took place last night with a very different look. Coronavirus meant the ceremony took Infectious Disease perspective that place in a socially distanced to have maximum effect on any studio, and the nominees joined in online. The drama chernobyl and the comedy control policy, you have to act stath lets flats were among quickly. If you delay by a few days, the big winners. It might be that that has significant implications, and that could lead to more cases and more does it feel like fa cup final day deaths. I really have sympathy with to you . No, it doesnt, really. It a huge number of people that are affected, travellers planning to go to spain and so forth, because these is that gap. Normally it would be in the headlines, it would be here measures seem to have come to spain and so forth, because these measures seem to have come in very in the headlines, it would be here in the sport, michael would be quickly. But as i have said, if jumping up and down like a jumping bean or Something Like that because there is a delay and a failure to he would be so excited. Hes act when there is evidence, that excited, he at wembley today. There could be extremely catastrophic, and he is, jumping up and down. What a we could be in a position where, glorious view. It is so beautiful actually, local controls, for instance, dont have the effect that with wembley behind you, but it is they should have because we havent empty . It is so strange. You know, acted quickly enough and we get much ifi empty . It is so strange. You know, if i close my eyes, the sun is coming up and i can hear seagulls. I could be on the beach. It is august, greater spread. Thank you so much. Of course. It cant be cup final day. But it is imagine the scene we heard the case there that the here normally on wembley way, head modelling that has led to the of arsenal meeting chelsea. It would measures we are now adjusting to an terms of how we lead our lives, we bea of arsenal meeting chelsea. It would be a sea of red and blue, thousands gathering and dancing to music, have had this incredible weather in singing theirclub the country and there is temptation gathering and dancing to music, singing their club songs, there would be sure to sellers and burger to head out to the beach. What about sellers and flag sellers, soaking up the atmosphere. Shirt sellers. It the practical reality of increasing is still a big global event, and enforcing the rules we are broadcaster millions around the trying to adjust to. Planet. So much focus still on this famous traditional event, arsenal lets speak to paul netherton, against chelsea, two teams who have deputy chief constable of devon and cornwall police, played the fa cup traditionally. Met who joins us from exeter backin played the fa cup traditionally. Met back in 2017, as recently as that. Policing your two counties in normal arsenal one 2 1. This season it is their only chance of getting a place in European Competition for the next times, a lot of people arejumping season, whenever begins, in in the carand times, a lot of people arejumping september. Patrick geary looks in the car and heading in your direction . A lot of years, we have ahead. More people at wembley than ever before. There have been 138 about 10 million visitors down to devon and cornwall and that makes it fa cup finals. None anything like a challenging policing operation, the 139. This will be a famous old and covid 19 has brought a new dimension to that. If people would show without a soundtrack. A great normally be heading to spain or heading abroad and perhaps not occasion with the colour drain. So tempted to get on an aeroplane for what will it be like for those at the reasons we now know about, devon the centre of it . This location, and cornwall becomes even more without fans, is never going to be appealing . Yes, and we have seen the same. It is impossible. What that over the Bank Holiday Weekend makes it special is that energy, earlier this year, and now, in the that passion. It will be strange to last two weekends, a sizeable number have no fans. We are getting used to of people coming down to devon and it. But is not to say we like it, because we want the fans back, but cornwall. We are busy counties at we have to respect to current the moment. Talk to us about the circumstances, particularly with what has happened in the last few practical blt of policing and how days. It is the moments that stand you do it . Lets be frank, it is not out through cup final history, but we forget the role of the backdrop. Impossible to get very confused about what we are allowed to do and remove it under the picture seems incomplete. And what about the words not allowed to do practical to go with those pictures . Bbc commentator guy mowbray has a very differentjob to last year. Commentator guy mowbray has a very different job to last year. Stirling reacts again the bigger the game, realities. The regulations have been changing. Sometimes they are just the more gravitas, the more depth, comes through. Because you advisory, sometimes they are are rising and falling with the crowd. You have the same levels of excitement. It is a little bit different. You perhaps have to think enforcea ble. Advisory, sometimes they are a little bit more. As well as the enforceable. We are engaging people, we are explaining why rules are in place, trying to encourage them to abide by them. We are encouraging spoken word, cup final day is always them to return home, lockdown in the filled with song. This year, the british youth opera will perform the National Anthem, but they are missing about 85,000 arcing singers. Early days. Now it is about social distancing, taking protective measures, wearing masks. Only as a the fa cup, it brings the country together. And, you know, singing last resort rethinking about enforcement. That is usually where does the same thing. It is not ideal, obviously. The magic of the people are being belligerent and refusing to take the advice they are crowd being there, we are going to miss that. But it is definitely being given. You have a National Going to be something to tell the responsibility, dont you, beyond the responsibilities in your own two grandkids. In a year that has felt counties with your own forces with like an uphill struggle, this cup final will see no client. The famous Contingency Planning and resilience. Clearly, that is a keep out of walk to the royal box is gone. The policing at any time, but this is a treaty will be presented on the challenge like no other with no pitch. They will still be despair, defined end point . Certainly. Exhilarating joy, and a universal hope this is all unique. Yes, it normally i have been working with government around flooding and sort still means so much to the players of natural disasters and, and fans watching at home, of course. Occasionally, terrorism and things while the english season like that. This is a whole new level is approaching its finale, today marks the start of the new season in scotland. Of demand. For the last six months, it all kicks off with aberdeen hosting rangers at lunchtime. Current champions celtic dont play the resilient communities, the local until tomorrow when they host hamilton academical. Celtic, of course, are going resilience of forums, the emergency for a 10th league title in a row, planners, have been working flat out but manager neil lennon has been down playing the pressure to respond to covid 19, introducing on his side. Plans that already existed, developing new plans, being agile, learning as we go. We have had a well, when i was at hibs you could group of people working with cross Government Departments and all these hear the fans singing about going different agencies, the emergency for the 10th in the 70th. When i came back and it was really intense, services and other agencies, with travel and travel, so we have Nottingham Trent university to think already equalled that record, and ahead and ask, what is next . Watch tv contain plans look like, what did now we can only beat it, you know . The outbreak plans look like . Soi now we can only beat it, you know . So i think it is up to the rest to try to stop us. It was a bit of a strange experience at the snooker yesterday. The World Championship in sheffield what would the. It is about trying was one of the events picked to be a pilot event for the to get the organisation is ready for return of some fans. It and responding very quickly as, so there were some 250 watching on at the crucible theatre, but then halfway through the day mike, your previous speaker said, came the governments announcement that they were putting the brakes and speech he is the Quick Response on and so while the fans to make things happen and get things were allowed to stay under control. For the rest of the day, but not for the rest of the tournament, the lucky ones in for the first day saw judd trump began the defence of his World Snooker title with a hard fought victory over tom ford at the crucible last night. The key. The key. When you so yesterday from the government that they are planning to expand the indoor places we are following government where you were a face covering, what guidelines and doing everything right. We do what has been said is your thought when you hear that before. We plan for the west end we hope for the best. This is not the worst. The worst is the tournament because how do you enforce it in a doesnt happen. The positive is, the tournament is happening exactly the same. Just there wont be any crowds there. You know, it is a kick in the positive way. . We in the lower regions. But ive been kicked south west have a very low occurrence of a covid 19 at the there before and im sure ill be moment. We are talking the ones and kicked there again. So we will get through this. There were going to be 4,000 fans allowed back at racing today, on the final day of the glorious goodwood meeting, twos. It is not places of work where also part of the governments the outbreaks are occurring, it is pilot scheme. In social settings, family but the hats and the outfits barbecues, the pub. It is where will have to wait, as the racing people are forgetting evenly basic will go on only behind closed doors. Rules around social distancing the highlight of yesterdays meeting was odds on favorite battaash wearing masks. So our message is breaking his own course record to win the king george qatar stakes for the fourth year in a row. About educating people. We are in a global pandemic. This will be with qualifying for tomorrows us for it months to come. We have to british grand prix gets underway a little later after a difficult day encourage the public to keep of practice yesterday. World champion Lewis Hamilton switched on, keep aware that they could only manage fifth fastest in windy conditions. Must look after themselves in order Alexander Albon suffered this heavy to protect themselves and, of crash in his red bull as lance strolls racing point set the pace in second practice. Course, theirfamily, to protect themselves and, of course, their family, be to protect themselves and, of that came after the news that course, theirfamily, be Vulnerable People within our community. Nico hulkenberg will take the place of sergio perez this weekend enforcement is our last resort. It after the mexican tested positive for coronavirus. Is mainly around education, talking to people and saying, switch on, keep safe, abide by the rules. Face coverings, social distancing, wash your hands, and keeping that message going, we really need to reinforce that with the public all the time. It is nice to talk to you this so he and his Close Associates own self isolation at the moment. But morning. Thank you for being with here at wembley, some sort of us. Normality. Both teams have been for muslims across the country, staying overnight at a local hotel to get that feeling of cup final the this weekend was meant to be a time to celebrate eid. But new restrictions across parts of the north night before, but they will get the of england mean that for many, those celebrations have coaches over here later on. You can had to be curtailed. Walker will be on site at half past nine later on. I wasjust thinking, normally at this point on fa cup to explain this for those who are final day, you have got the buses, you have got fans heading from eid, it is almost like being told on whichever team has made it to the final and they are piling onto the Christmas Eve that he cannot have your christmas dinner and all of buses and have the t shirts and hats, and it is a huge adventure, your christmas dinner and all of yourfamily around, your christmas dinner and all of your family around, isnt it . Youre and the whole day as part of the story, culminating in kick off. And the whole day as part of the absolutely right. And it is being story, culminating in kick offlj think, mike, you should find a vivid told to hours before the day. In agp andi told to hours before the day. In agp and i understand the difficulties around the pandemic and the sailor vuvuzela. And a really big, ridiculous hat. Maybe a fancy seriousness it i am a gp. It is dress costume. A few people are starting to look we had got plans, we were allowed to out. I will try to mimic a vuvuzela, at least. I will make the noise of have six people meeting inside, all of that has to be cancelled. It is a one. He is still happy down there. Totally, yeah. Mimicking a vuvuzela shame, because the previous eid, is worth waking everyone up in the which again took place in lockdown, flats. A dolphin which went missing was also cancelled. It is really from her home in scotland has been difficult, but people have been at found off the coast of the isle of man. Hearing to the rules. They didnt go moonlight the Bottlenose Dolphin had been studied by marine biologists at the university of aberdeen out to celebrate eid in the normal since 1996, but absconded last year. Shes now been spotted in manx way. They are looking forward to waters, and has started a family, their next eid, where hopefully some as alex bell reports. Of the restrictions will be lifted, but it was really hard. of the restrictions will be lifted, but it was really hard. I should make clear that matt hancock did actually give an announcement to Bottlenose Dolphins are no strangers journalists, so it didntjust come to manx shores. But one pair in out on twitter although that is obviously where many people got particular have captured the their information from. You say that attention of the public and scientists across the british isles. People adapt, dont they . Eid is still being celebrated, people are so there the mother, and little baby adapting, but with that of covid 19 just popping up. These are our two . Safety in mind. Talk to me about how these are our two. That is related baby. How much of a chance to think people have been reacting to that . You have been doing a lot of work as well have to see them today . I would say we had a pretty good well with Public Health england. Chance. It is bit tight at the you have been doing a lot of work as well with Public Health englandm is really important that people have moment, which is the time they have adapted. It is really important that been coming into peel bay, and they we celebrate eid safely. You are do come here most days, so you never still able to go to the mosque. Know. Fingers crossed. The story there is limited numbers, you have began last september when a female dolphin and her newborn calf were to ta ke there is limited numbers, you have to take your own mat, your own shoe spotted swimming off the manx coast. Bag, there is a social distancing it looked the size of a fish, you there. I saw my family via zoom and know . In the video he isjust leaping out of the water behind them on as dorsalfin. I emailed it around to Marine Mammal scientists and a lady from barbara at royal that kind of thing. People are firth got in touch. And she said, i think i recognised this dolphin. It looks remarkably like one of our missing dolphins from the moray adapting. There is a slight firth. Amazingly, it was the same narrative around some of these dolphin. Moonlight, who had been cities that it is the bame community is causing the problem with the studied hundreds of miles away in virus and i think that is really the moray firth since 1996, had not been seen in scotland for more than unfair. I work in bradford, a lot of a year. She was identified thanks to my patients are from a bame background and they have worked a year. She was identified thanks to a marking on her upper dorsalfin. Really ha rd over now it is thought she and her calf background and they have worked really hard over this entire lockdown period to stick to the have become the islands millie para rules, so i think this narrative is president dolphins. It was 2019, was very unfair. And we have got to remember, a lot of people from bame the last time we actually saw her. Backgrounds work in key workerjobs. Definitely a surprise for us because a lot of my patients are taxi we just definitely a surprise for us because wejust didnt definitely a surprise for us because we just didnt know where she was. Drivers, bus drivers, shopkeepers. All of these people are necessary to she was one of the ones who clearly keep the economy and country going had come back and we didnt know during the pandemic, so for now for where she was at all. So it is nice people to say, these are the people to know that she is safe and sound to blame is a really unfair, because at the isle of man. Back at the we have all been getting takeaway beach, we waited tensely to see if is, we have all been getting public moonlight would appear. Then, after transport during this pandemic and we should not now be blaming the a four hour wait, a glimpse. People who helped us during the moonlight would appear. Then, after a fourhour wait, a glimpse. So lockdown. Point well made. Those who cool everybody is watching they are shielding, they are being told knew we were here, you see. They they can get back out there. Knew we were here, you see. They knew we were here. Im so delighted. Briefly, a word, do you think there is enough preparedness among those who have been shielding his back it is definitely moonlight and her what are you hearing . There is still baby. People lined the beaches to welcome a pair who have made this island their home. Alex bell, bbc a lot of anxiety around people shielding. Some people are looking news. It is like a flashback to an forward to it, looking forward to being able to see people again, but restrictions have been put in place earlier time, seeing that, because of the social distancing, which is with them, so i am expected a lot of no longer in place. It has been calls on monday morning from these eased. Some people are sitting next people about their anxiety levels as to each other. One day. Maybe that well. It is a mixed feeling, really. Is what motivated moonlight, to head back to a normal life. Yeah, after she had absconded. Heres nick with a look sorry, did you finish your point at this mornings weather. There . Ijust there were some, it was hot. It was sorry, did you finish your point there . I just lost you sorry, did you finish your point there . Ijust lost you at sorry, did you finish your point there . I just lost you at the sorry, did you finish your point there . Ijust lost you at the last point. There is mixed feelings. There are lots of people who are really, really hot yesterday. Did you enjoy it . It has been too hot anxious and some people looking for me. Forward to it, but local restrictions may affect that as well. Do you have a green fingers . Too hot for me, definitely. The fa can enjoy some more freedoms in line with restrictions, and thats despite yesterdays announcement postponing the easing of some lockdown restrictions in england. Cup final today, slight chance of a shower, of course, much cooler compared with yesterday and the in Northern Ireland, shielding has already been paused for the 80,000 grand prix as well, the british grand prix as well, the british grand prix, olivine race day people affected there. Those temperatures may be a little i think what is clear is you need to bit lower again tomorrow with a bit more of a westerly breeze around as look on the government website to well so were talking maybe know exactly what is happening in high teens and some spots into the your area. Low 20s. One area of low pressure know exactly what is happening in yourarea. One of know exactly what is happening in your area. One of the things we want to talk about is when it comes to monday misses us to the south and another comes in, though, as we look shielding, you hear these different at the forecast going into tuesday. Restrictions and you have perhaps it looks as though tuesday will be a been leading a very different light. Wetter day and at the end of next for us, life has been almost normal. Week it looks like the heat is coming back. Back to you. Be careful lets speak now to matt gibbon, who has been shielding with his wife since lockdown began, and eve byrne from Macmillan Cancer what you wish for, after moaning for supprt, which has written the heat. The gardens will be to the government with concerns that shielders are having to choose happy between their health and theirjob. Its time now for the travel show. We will be back with you at seven good morning, matt. Iwonder if with the headlines. Good morning, matt. I wonder if it isa good morning, matt. I wonder if it is a good morning, in terms of your situation. You are in bradford. What is today mean for you . You have been shielding with your wife. Today really m ea ns shielding with your wife. Today really means business as usual in our personal circumstance. It is the same as it has been since we started lockdown on the 23rd of march. You hello and welcome to the travel show with me, are staying in, you wont be going Christa Larwood. Well, if you were watching last out, would be integrating again in week, you would have seen ade in venice on the very first the world. Why . Well, basically, we overseas travel show trip feel it is notjust because of the weve been able to do in a really long time. Hopefully, well all be back guidelines, we feel, myself and my out on the road sometime soon. But in the meantime, wife he is my primary carer, it is here are some more of our favourite travel show stories from the archive. Just too risky and that the they might even inspire your next trip, infection rate in our specific area wherever that might be. Well, im not going to lie, working on the travel show is climbing and it is a little bit is a pretty sweet deal. High and it is making us very not only do we get to travel worried about our safety and any the world, see amazing places, potential catching of any virus. I but we also, from time to time, get to meet truly inspirational people. Had a double Lung Transplant last and thats the focus of this weeks programme. Including the man whose family have pretty much dedicated their life to icelands enormous imposing year and glaciers, but who is now had a double Lung Transplant last yearandi had a double Lung Transplant last year and i also have cystic fibrosis. A lot of things that make charting their decline. Me very vulnerable. Good morning, but lets kick off with a woman who has a different lifes eve. Tell me about this letter that mission to help sick and injured elephants in thailand. Is being sent. On the one hand, and a few years ago, plenty of people who are shielding will be desperate to get out the henry went to meet her. When it was opened in 1993, door, albeit very concerned about this was the worlds first elephant hospital. The potential risk. Then there is to juggle the potential risk. Then there is to juggle about going back to work and whether that is safe. Thats and since then, theyve treated absolutely right. As we just heard over 4,000 elephants, and im here to meet from matt, people with cancer and some of them. The hospital aims to provide people in the shielded group are telling us that despite the care for any sick or injured elephant in thailand. Government guidance, they are just what kind of patients not feeling safe. Because of the do you have . Shielding restriction starting to ease, they are feeling the pressure we have all kinds of illnesses, sicknesses, from their employers to return back knife wounds, gunshot wounds. To work, but dont have the confidence that the workplaces are some have diarrhoea, safe. They are worried about taking constipation, cataracts. Public transport. We are calling on some have serious, like, the government along with other charities to really put into cancer, you know, and tumour. Protections and maintain that vital lifeline for people who have been the most difficult case shielding so they dont have to make are the victims of landmines. The impossible choice between laughs. Protecting their health are keeping their jobs. Shes very friendly protecting their health are keeping theirjobs. Talk to us about the this one belongs to murtala. Psychological challenge that you the old one. Face, maps. You were talking about because, you know, she is your concerns about the risk, but at growing up, she is still young. Yeah oh, thats true. The same time there must be things yeah. So every so often that i tend about that due will be you have to do. Yeah, softer inside. Get a new one, get a taller. Itching to do, just normal things like going for coffee, or whatever. Right. Soraida started the hospital that is an excellent example, going after seeing elephants die because there was nowhere to treat them. Out for a copy. That was a master so i told myself ok, plan, just going for a drive through thats it. If no one is going to do it, coffee, not having any contact with i am going to do it myself. There should be a place anybody. Just a mile from the house, where elephants can be treated. Get a Takeaway Coffee and come back. Because theres no elephant hospital. That was a challenge for the day, the hospital is funded trying to reintegrate ourselves into by donations and treatment is provided for free. Real life and getting back into the swing of things. With local lockdown is in place, it is very difficult yeah and just not worth the risk. We have after medicine, get treaties had to put your plans on hold for tourists can come here the foreseeable future. Where are to see the elephants in their recuperation areas you getting a picture that you trust but there are none of the shows and rides you might find at elephant camps elsewhere in thailand. Of how the world is outside . Or are you in contact with who is living some have called for a ban on using these revered animals in the tourist industry, more freely than you and your wife but soraida tells me that could also create problems. Are living at the moment . The only outside contacts we have on a to ban them, then we have regular basis as every week my mum to have the solution comes down with some extra shopping. Where would these elephants be . We have delivery slots which have been kindly given to us for you cant take 4,500 Elephants Back into the wild. Vulnerable people. We rely on those. How are we going to keep them, you know, in its natural my Vulnerable People. We rely on those. My mum comes every week with some surroundings and in a way extra supplies for fresh items you to earn some money, you know, in order to treat them well . Can get online, and we hearfrom her about what life is like and how its amazing to see elephants things are with them. Claire talks like these that would have to her mum every day. We watch the otherwise have died in the wild actually thrive here in the hospital. And spending time with soraida mainstream media, as well. We try to and learning the ins and outs of what goes on here has been get a balanced picture from them, an absolutely amazing but it is difficult. It is. Eve, you experience that i will not have written this letter laying out forget any time soon. Your thoughts on this. You are hearing people who are concerned. My name is andri magnason. Im a writer. For anyone who needs a little bit of i live in iceland. Guidance, not to make a decision for i have written childrens books, poetry, plays, them, but wherever they go for a bit Science Fiction of guidance and reassurance . You are right, this is a personal decision and non fiction. And we would be encouraging people to have that conversation with their to have that conversation with their to understand their own clinical my grandparents were Founding Partners of the icelandic glacial Research Society decision that is best for them. And they went on a glacial honeymoon in 1956, there is local support available and we are encouraging people to get in touch with macmillan if they are for three weeks. Struggling and feeling anxious about lockdown easing and shielding so these are your grandparents . Restriction is coming to an end. We this is my grandparents. This is icelands highest peak this is 2119 are there to help people navigate metres and, uh. Through this and we would encourage people to get in touch. Thank you. We wish you all the best, matt. Have grandmas not even wearing a coat, is she . That coffee at some stage when you no, its good weather there. So i slightly interrupted you think it is safe. That coffee is can i help you hang these up . Keeping me going thank you. Yeah, please, help me. So im choosing what photos i would like to use in my book. Its the fa cup final today ill pop this one up here. And in any normal year wembley andri, how does looking at these photos make you feel . Would be welcoming excited fans, but its a much quieter wembley way well, theyve always where we find mike this morning. Made me feel, you know, hello, mike. Nostalgic, proud, but theyre also a slice section of time that is, this is the first generation that was able to enjoy glaciers, and we only have three generations that will live that period. Good morning explanation what i am so then the glaciers will go, doing one of the most famous works for any sports fan in the world, don and after 300 years, these photos will be totally wembley way, past the bars and cafe alien to that generation, especially in iceland, is. Normally this would behaving when the ice has left iceland. When the ice has left iceland. With people before the kick off at yeah. 5 30pm. You could imagine discards, the music, the bands, but it is empty. Inside the famous stadium at andri wanted to take me least there should be a cup final somewhere to show me just how quickly the landscape for the world to watch on tv. It is such a big occasion, arsenal versus is changing. Chelsea. Arsenal have won this about 10 of iceland is covered trophy a record 13 times, chelsea in glaciers but glaciologists eight. For arsenal it is a chance to now believe that all save eight. For arsenal it is a chance to save their season and get into of icelands glaciers will be gone in just 200 years. Europe. Chelsea are already there. Five years ago, when ok glacier was no longer heavy enough to lift itself up and move, it was declared dead. Newsreel more people at wembley than ever before. The amount of ice here has there have been 138 fa cup finals decreased dramatically. None anything like the 139th. This will be a famous old show researchers from rice without a soundtrack. University in america recently drew attention to the loss. A great occasion with they approached andri to write the colour drained. The inscription for the plaque, commemorating the dead glacier. So what will it be like for those at the centre of it . This occasion, without fans, is never going to be the same. Its impossible. Its a strange situation, because how do you memorise the sky or something . What makes it special is that its like something energy, the passion. Big, firm, eternal. It will be strange to have no fans. And so here it says, we are getting used to it, a letter to the future. And thats not to say we like it, ok is the first icelandic because we want the fans back. Glacier to lose its status but we have to respect as a glacier. The current circumstances, in the next 200 years, particularly with whats happened in the last few days. Its the moments that stand out all our glaciers are expected through cup final history, to follow the same path. But we forget the role this monument is to acknowledge of the backdrop. That we know what is happening remove it and the picture and what needs to be done. Seems incomplete. And what about the words to go only you know if we did it. With those pictures . Well, bbc commentator guy mowbray has a very differentjob to last year. August 2019, 415 parts per million of co2. Commentator gomez saves, but sterling reacts again the bigger the game, thats the amount of co2 just the more gravitas, in the atmosphere, and actually the more depth, comes through. The cause of the melted glacier. And that is rising, because you are rising and falling with the crowd. You have the same levels of excitement. It is a little bit different. You perhaps have to think about 2 3 ppm every year. A little bit more. God save the queen. As well as the spoken cat there with a man word, cup final day who is helping to memorialise is always filled with song. Icelands disappearing glaciers. This year, the british youth opera up next, back in 2018, will perform the National Anthem, lucy visited johannesburg but theyre missing to meet a very special lady who played a crucial role in south africas history about 85,000 backing singers. From her kitchen, by cooking for nelson mandela. The fa cup, it brings the country together. Hi and, you know, singing does the same thing. Its not ideal, obviously. Really nice to meet you. Mwah i have heard Amazing Things the magic of the crowd being there, about your talents as a chef were going to miss that. So, talk to me. What are you going but its definitely going to be to make for us today . Something to tell the grandkids. Im making the simplest meal that you have ever had in a year thats felt in your life. Like an uphill struggle, this cup final will see no climb. The famous walk to the royal box is gone. The trophy will be its called crumbly meal in our language, its called presented on the pitch. There will still be despair, umphokoqo that one that exhilarating joy mr mandela used to love and a universal hope that this it to bits. Is all unique. And he can not go a single week patrick gearey, bbc news. Without eating this. Yeah . He had to have this meal every week . Yes. While the english season chuckles. How i do this . Is approaching its finale, i would use crumbly meal, today marks the start we got maize meal, of the new season in scotland. And then this is a sour milk. Sour milk. It all kicks off with aberdeen it has to be sourfor him, so much that when you talk hosting rangers at lunchtime. About it and when he eats it, he must feel it in his mouth. Current champions celtic dont play so with water and salt, until tomorrow when they host that is all thats how hamilton academical. Celtic, of course, are going simple it is. Very simple for a record breaking tenth thats my kind of meal. League title in a row, i will add water, then i add salt. Something that their hands have been thats called umphokoqua am i saying that right . Something that their fans have been umphokoqo. I cant say it singing about for years already but im sure other clubs, including rangers and boss stephen gerrard, will be doing everything that they can im just going to just nod. 0k. Tell me what it was like cooking for mandela, just in general . To stop them. Well, it at the beginning i felt intimidated, because i was going to cook for this. Now, when i had to meet him, judd trump began the defence the first time, i was shaking of his World Snooker title i must say, i was shaking with a hard fought victory over and i was shivering. Yeah, i bet you were but he was so warm to me when he received me in his tom ford at the crucible last night. House, he stood up for me and then he shake my hand and he asked me if he said to me, i know while the fans were allowed to stay you are a great cook. Yeah. But can you cook for the rest of the day after the our own home food . Thats when i said, yes. New announcements over, many they i didnt even hesitate, because i knew that now this is myjob, and then i got the job immediately. Yes so apparently when he went had to go home. To london, we dont send him with food that we know. Wherever he goes, in any country, but that particular were following government guidelines. Year, that day, that week, were doing everything right. Hejust decided hes not going to eat, hes got we do what has been said before. A craving for his own home food we plan for the worst while they were there already. And we hope for the best. This is not the worst. The worst is the tournament doesnt happen. The positive is, the tournament is happening exactly the same, just there wont be then i got a call saying that we know you are off, any crowds there. You are home. You know, its a kick can you please go back to joburg . In the lower regions. And i had to cook this but ive been kicked there before simplest dish for him. And im sure ill be kicked there again. And what i did, me and my so well get through this. Colleagues, we had to wrap it up nicely it looked like a present and then when we sent it to him, we had to write the president s you get a sense of the pain and hurt medication. For the organisers there. A similar sort of feeling at goodwood, there are hoping to have bounced back and after that, i was called that. I smuggled food to him. Laughs. You smuggled his favourite dish into the uk yes. The meal is about to be ready. There is he doing what i am doing now . Would he hover . He can smell the umphokoqo and then, yeah. Umphokoqo is coming. Do you want to try . Im going to try it. Come on it was one of mandelas favourite meals ive got to give it a try today, could you not get a survey yeah. Chuckles. Thats quite yummy. Thank you. Mmm venezuela . Mm idid find venezuela . I did find one in yorkshire, that is i can see why he liked it. A bitfar i did find one in yorkshire, that is a bit far away, though. Ithink im talking with my mouth full both laugh. I did find one in yorkshire, that is a bit far away, though. I think the government gauntlet has been laid down, someone will get you one. So tricky, this, the rest of england and wales broken cloud, mainly dry and temperatures pretty close to normal for the time for the government, because it is of year. Inevitably complicated, this business of creeping steadily back towards normality. Perfectly reasonable lots of people putting them on maps . About 24 willjust be baffled . Good morning, chris. Good morning, naga. Yes. Especially when you consider only two weeks ago the Prime Minister was Glenda Jackson was named saying we could be back to some kind best actress at last nights of normality by christmas. This was Bafta Television awards, her first tv role for 27 years, and declared herself to be stunned. A very different message yesterday. In the future we may have to do less of some other things, and these 5070 restaurant, full brigade, full team. 50 70 members we employ on site visit who is going to pay them at will be difficult trade offs, the end of the day question but we some of which will be decisions of government and some need people to come through the of which are for all re sta u ra nt need people to come through the restaurant so we have money so we of us as citizens to do. Can pay our staff otherwise we will just go under. This weekend, we are one of those new rules will be down about 80 covers in a restau ra nt. In force from next weekend. Down about 80 covers in a restaurant. People, if there were the mandatory wearing a face two Families Together, a table of four, they might want to be broken coverings in more indoor places, like museums and places of worship. So what we had to do was put empha5i5e5 ju5t ourselves in a position of not to be complicated, but that empha5i5e5 just how e55ential Clear Communication is . It does, and i think it is far to say that in panicking and really focusing on the recent weeks we have had conflicting m e55a g e5 recent weeks we have had conflicting information we had that was messages when you have had the prime concrete, what we already knew minister saying that we might get some normality by christmas, that before we started catastrophise in. No, i dont think so, and Boris Johnson very stark message from chris whitty and borisjohnson yesterday. What do think we will all still go out we ta ke and borisjohnson yesterday. What do we take from what chris whitty 5aid . Because how can you confine everybody into a space when the at the very least, i think we can ta ke at the very least, i think we can take from that that this is the new rules arent clear anyway, are they . Normal, at the very least there is we are in the pub but not in each not going to be a significant ea5ing of the lockdown measure5 anytime others house, what is that about . |j soon. Which busine55e5 about, they could be absolutely go to hers but we can come in crucial. Which businesses can open and which remain closed . What outside and be together . How is that activities can be do, how much social distancing . All the time, the right . I think it is good, the government is going to have to make a balanced decision, and schools as government, you know it is too many well. Bori5 a balanced decision, and schools as well. Boris johnson a balanced decision, and schools as well. Borisjohnson has made it clear school5 well. Borisjohnson has made it clear schools must go back in september, but that is effectively people, handshaking, then no masks. An ea5ing the new rules mean many many september, but that is effectively an easing of the lockdown. Therefore, d have to tighten up elsewhere . Advi5or 5aid celebrations cant go ahead as therefore, d have to tighten up elsewhere . Advi5or said it might planned but many want a consistent come down to, for example, what is message because they are confused. More important, school5 come down to, for example, what is more important, schools or pubs . Will you can go to the pub, stay that is just one view, but it does amongst your household people, what illustrate the kind of decisions the is your problem . What is that government might have to make. Thank you for talking to us. Supposed to mean . Heres, i cant go and see my mum and dad at their from this month, employers must pay National Insurance and pension contributions home, not a and see my mum and dad at their for their furloughed employees, home, nota pub and see my mum and dad at their home, not a pub where you have as part of a gradual everybody going on. Lets get more reaction curfew on people returning to the Prime Ministers annoucement to the uk from spain. That lockdown easing has been put on hold in england. We can now speak to our correspondent gavin lee the Shadow Health secretary, is at Palma Airport jonathan ashworth. In majorca this morning. Good morning to you. Morning. Lets unpick what the government is doing this weekend. Firstly we heard from i cant even imagine what people are the premise yesterday and this pause saying there if they are due to come button being pressed on some of the planned changes that were due to back now. Uncertain, perhap5, happen now and now wont happen for saying there if they are due to come back now. Uncertain, perhaps, of their plans which must have seemed a while. As borisjohnson calls that so their plans which must have seemed so concrete when they left to go on right . Yeah, we know this is really holiday to spain . Bearing in mind, difficult for people. As we are the5e hearing from the package there. Holiday to spain . Bearing in mind, these flights im cheap as well. People have made great sacrifices and people are getting really fed up with this virus and i know there people have been tory mps on the media complaining about the decision that irisjohnson complaining about the decision that iris johnson and matt complaining about the decision that who have are not cheap. Saying it irisjohnson and matt hancock have had to make here but we support it. I5 who have are not cheap. Saying it is not viable because they 5u5pended the decision on the quentin. Dont forget just a couple of had to make here but we support it. Dont forgetjust a couple of days ago, we had the devastating news, the devastating confirmation, that we have now got one of the highest death rates or had the highest death rate in europe. We know the infection rate is on the rise and i think a lot of people accept now quarantine. Quarantine. Tell me your story. That Boris Johnson and we booked the holiday in january. Think a lot of people accept now that borisjohnson and his team back quarantine. Tell me your story. We booked the holiday injanuary. We paid £4500. We had six days and we in february and march so we we re paid £4500. We had six days and we were told we were going home today. Understand why the decisions have it is very frustrating because it is been made for. The infection rate is the last three days of our holiday. Still high and the progress we have is still fragile so i know this is these two are disappointed because we have been looking forward to it for such a long time. And now you difficult for people. Given you say have got to go back into quentin . Yes, and im not sure howl there is the rise of cases that have have got to go back into quentin . Yes, and im not sure how i feel about that. Quarantine. Wa nted there is the rise of cases that have wanted this response from the government, is it right for lots of people this morning, this is the yes, and im not sure how i feel about that. Quarantine. There are about that. Quarantine. There are a lot of people not on their moment where shielding ends, where they can venture out into . Those in originalflight a lot of people not on their original flight today. The airline saying they can make space for it . Briefly, on the islands, they had they can venture out into . Those in the community are rightly and zero incidence5 to days ago, but understandably very anxious. In yesterday it was reported that they had the first outbreak since the leicester, we are still in a form of lockdown wa5 ea5ed for tourists and lockdown. Some have been eased and about 14 tourists are in itself people are still shielding in isolation. A Small Development and leicester now. We support the clearly nothing like the situation decision the government has had to on the spanish mainland. Thank you so on the spanish mainland. Thank you make yesterday but i think it is a so much for explaining that and being able to talk to someone who is legitimate criticism of them that of easily very frustrated and concerned as well. The way in which the decision was british Airways Pilots have voted communicated, sort of dribbling out late at night with not all the to accept a deal that will temporarily cut pay by 20 per cent and eliminate 270 jobs. Details of it entirely clear, has the deal prevents a controversial fire and rehire scheme where staff caused a degree of confusion. Just would have been handed new contracts on wor5e conditions. To be clear, do you say you back ba had proposed to make what the government is saying in 12000 staff redundant, terms of most people who are as it struggles with the impact shielding being able to interact of the coronavirus. Today or should that have been a 19 year old man from bognor regis, paused, delayed, across england, and along with two other people, have been charged by us prosecutors beyond, given the rise in cases that we are seeing . We have to follow in connection with a major hacking attack on twitter last month. What the chief medical officer recommends and if that is the recommendation of our chief sides you may remember this. Advisor and chief medical officer, the social media site they have access to far more said its staff were tricked into handing over their details, which enabled the hackers to take over several celebrity accounts, including former president barack obama, microsoft evidential based medical Science Founder bill gates, and reality star Kim Kardashian west, than we have. That is the who all falsely tweeted out requests recommendation then we support it. I for bitcoin donations. Think what we do know, though, is the infection rates are rising and what that suggests to me is that this month, these next four weeks of a 19 year old has been arrested for august, are absolutely critical now. That. The two other people to be charged because we to end august, if we can, are both american citizens. The son of media boss Rupert Murdoch has resigned from the board with infection rates coming down and of the corporation which owns not going up. If over the next four the times and sun newspapers. James murdoch seen here on the right weeks the infection rate is actually said disagreements over editorial content were behind his decision increasing or staying at a high to leave news corporation. Level, and that suggests we are the exact nature of heading into a very, very serious the disagreements was not detailed autumn and winter and so my question for the government is, what are you but the younger son has previously criticised his fathers news outlets doing for these next four weeks to for their stance on climate change. Bring that infection rate down and really now prepare for this second President Trump says he plans to ban the social media app tiktok phase . Are you expanding the in the united states. Testing . It is not beating like they it comes after officials expressed concerns over the safety of personal data on the chinese owned video app. Promised, world beating was not i going to test nhs care workers and stockpiling the ppa that our public mr trump said he could sign an executive order today but its service and nhs will need . You talk not yet clear how any ban would work. About how imported and is, the Bafta Television awards took place last night with a very obviously, to listen to what the different look. Chief medical officers are saying and yet, for those who are shielding coronavirus meant you might be contemplating right now venturing out of the house, down the street to the shops for the first the ceremony took place time in month, they will have heard professor chris whitty yesterday in a socially distanced studio saying in his view that we are right and the nomineesjoined in online the drama chernobyl at the edge of what is possible and and the comedy stath lets flats were among the big winners. For people who might be very nervous a nyway for people who might be very nervous anyway about venturing out, hearing that could be frightening. Well, it will be frightening because this is, we expect to be fabulous Glenda Jackson not long ago. We are going to be frank, this is a very, very to talk about the sunshine that has worrying time. Some have felt that been. Nick can do all of that with that glorious view behind you. This there will be a lull in the virus in is the view this morning. Some of us some of it quite the opposite, the are starting the day with blue sky virus is on the increase. On a above. It is one of those days where national level, we as a low party if you start sunny, the cloud is have to support what the chief going to increase. It is going to medical officer is advising but for brighten up during the day, but for individuals watching the programme all of us, it is such a different this morning who are understandably story temperature wise compared concerned, i would urge them to speak to their gp and discuss it with yesterday. This cold front has with their gp and get advice on a moved on through, so temperatures local level. Thanks for talking to come down considerably after the us local level. Your close contact to the face were expected to be available temperatures, of course, yesterday from today, but the government we we re temperatures, of course, yesterday we were up to 38 in the hotspot. We has postponed such services for at least two weeks. Our correspondent luxmy gopal are talking high teens, low 205, is at a beauty salon in south manchester. Mid 20 parts, eastern and how are people taking the news . South western england. We are talking about sport being performed and watched very differently inevitably, it is quiet and things are not as they would have been compared with the usual. This hoping for this morning . No, afternoon, the fa cup final, i am sure the players will appreciate the absolutely. Yes, here in a beauty temperatures closer to 24 other than salon which is the place to be if you feel like you didnt get enough the 38 yesterday. Both events, a beauty sleep last night. At the moment, you can get treatments in slight chance of a passing shower. Beauty salons across england that this is how the evening is looking. Include rings like letting a we will see some rain heading into pedicure, you can get your nails Northern Ireland and then pushing as the night goes on into northern done to stop you can get hair treatments like hair extensions, but england and scotland. A fewer heavy what you cant get, as you said, is bursts possible. South of there, it a close contact treatments and that includes things like getting your will stay mainly dry. Overnight eyebrows done, getting your temperatures much more comfortable eyelashes done. It is a real setback for sleeping after the heat that to Business Owners like this lady some of us had last night. Ten to 14 degrees over temperatures as we start the day tomorrow. Tomorrow, a who owns this beauty salon. You may recognise her from the tv show the bit of a north south split. A lot of real housewives of cheshire. We have cloud to begin the day, as you can see, and some outbreaks of rain around. A lot of that will clear eastwards and it will brighten up had so many cant selections. People behind that. After a bright site in Northern Ireland, there will be heavier showers in the afternoon. For the rest of england and wales, we re had so many cant selections. People were expecting to have their eye brows were expecting to have their there is the chance of catching a eyebrows done. Botox, fillers, a lot shower. Most will not. High teens of people are angry because they dont understand that difference and low 205 for your temperature. Between why you can still come in to monday, the area of low pressure misses us, so a lot of areas will have your nails done or a body massage and yet you cant have a stay dry. This area comes at us for facial treatment done . From our point of view, if the therapist is tuesday. You may well come some rain for the garden. We will keep an ion the positioning of that. The odd shower. Mainly dry on monday. Fully pped up, why you cant do someones eyelashes or injectables tuesday, the showers coming in. That on the top part of the face, ijust is how we were starting the week. It cannot understand, i am really will be turning wetter for a time. Frustrated. And you can feel at later next week, it looks like this sense of that frustrate happens again. Keeping an ion theres temperatures heading up once more. Not out of the question is, it frustration. How do you keep people could be 30 celsius in the hotspot at the end of the week ahead, but no rain initially. Sounds like safe . Frustration. How do you keep people safe . We ensure the sterilisation traditional british summer. Up and after every client and ensure we down all over the place. Ta ke after every client and ensure we take everyones after every client and ensure we stringent new measures take eve ryones temperatures after every client and ensure we take everyones temperatures as well before arrival. Thank you, some of introduced for People Living in parts of the north of england the measures in place. Now, ampika, have now been in place forjust over 24 hours. You must have some clients who were residents in the affected areas desperate after four months of not cannot mix with other households in their homes being able to do this . We have had or gardens, apart from people in their support bubbles. People extremely sad. Ive had or gardens, apart from people so how are communities living in those areas coping . Clients actually crying on the phone our reporter adam mcclean because they have been waiting for has been finding out. So because they have been waiting for so long to feel human again and the restaurants in england have been able to open their doors for four weeks. First of august has come and finally but the changes to the rules it is their day to feel great about in parts of the north have left Business Owners confused themselves and long awaited to get and with new problems. Their eyebrows done and mostly it is we just need to see guidelines people that want injectable on what we can and cant do treatments like botox, very so we can actually move forward. Disappointed. The courses i have had one minute youve got this rule, next minute youve got this next rule. Locked have had to refund people s literally, even the government ministers when theyre money back because they are very being interviewed right now cant uncertain whether we are going to go give the answers to these into a second phase of lockdown so questions being asked please give us some guidance. Everyone is literally pulling their for restaurants in areas affected hair out. We dont know whether we by new lockdown measures, there are concerns about the impact will be able to resume on the 15th on businesses that have already faced the most difficult challenges. Of august. I dont know if i can give people the faith to want to weve got a full restaurant, come and begin with me or basically weve got a full brigade, weve got a full team. Just cancel the appointment and give between 60 and 70 members of staff them a full refund so it is we employ here on site. Extremely frustrating for us as a like, whos going to pay them at the end of the day . We need people to come company. Absolutely, ampika. That through the restaurant so weve got frustration from a lot of business money so we can pay our staff, owners who were expected to be able otherwise were just to ease things a bit more today but going to go under. Just looking at this weekend now, of course thats not happening just were down about 80 yet. Covers in the restaurant. Some people, if there were two dank you, i have been admiring those Families Together as a table candleholders, nager was telling me of four, they might want to be we think they are. Thank you. Broken up into two twos now. But obviously, theres only so many tables already with the social distancing that we have in the restaurant so effectively, naga was telling me. These ones we have to say, well, we can take one table but we cant here . These ones . They are holding take the other or. Its a bit all over the place at the minute. Beads rochdale has had half the number of new infections it reported last week. But the new measures affect i think they are candleholders as all parts of greater manchester. Well. I think they are candleholders as well. Adventure i think they are candleholders as that felt quite harsh because i know well. Adventure into another territory. You did have your eyebrow that rochdale is improving, threading appointment taken away i know weve had numbers that have this morning, chris. Stay with us, headlines coming up. Been increasing but we are decreasing so it feels harsh for all ten authorities to be treated the same. If its what we have to do, then we must follow the rules and just keep everyone safe and itll come back to normal soon, we just have to go through this period. Pubs here are allowed to remain open but like restaurants, the rules say that members of two different households are banned from mixing. What weve got very good at in the last few months is adapting very, very quickly. It tends to be that we get snippets of information and then we get a full story. So what we had to do was put ourselves in a position of not panicking and really focusing on the information we had that was concrete, what we already knew before we started catastrophising. Some pub goers in rochdale said the new lockdown rules wont affect their plans. No, i dont think so, i think well all still be going out because how can you confine everybody into a space when the rules arent clear anyway, are they . Youre allowed in the pub, hello, this is breakfast with Naga Munchetty but not in each others house. And chris mason. Whats all that about . Good morning. Heres a summary of todays main i think its stupid because me stories from bbc news. And my partner live separately and theyre saying that we cant, the further easing of lockdown she cant come to my house restrictions in england due to come and i cant go to hers but we can in this weekend has been postponed come in outside and be together . For at least two weeks, how is that right . After an increase i think its very good, in coronavirus cases. Casinos and bowling alleys will remain shut, as borisjohnson this thing, and the government said it was time to squeeze the brake pedal. In greater manchester, face coverings will also be mandatory in more indoor settings, you know its too many people, such as cinemas. Handshaking, then go to masks. Professor chris whitty, englands chief medical officer, warned the uk may have hit the new rules mean that many eid its limits on easing restrictions. Al adha celebrations cant go ahead as planned but many are confused and want a consistent message. From this month, employers must pay National Insurance and pension you can go to the pub, stay amongst your household people, contributions for their furloughed and amongst your bubble. Employees, as part of a gradual tapering of the scheme. What is that supposed to mean . The rising rate of new Coronavirus Infections has forced the government to delay the reopening of some businesses, but its been estimated heres me, i cant go and see my mum by a think tank that more than half and dad at their home, of the people furloughed not a pub where youve got during the pandemic everybody coming in. Labour mp naz shah has cancelled her family celebrations in west yorkshire, an area affected alongside east are now back at work. Lancashire and greater manchester. People have been social distancing. The Bafta Television awards we clearly havent took place last night done it well enough. With a very different look. We must get better at it. Coronavirus meant the ceremony took place in a socially distanced studio, and the nominees we cannot, we do not have any joined in online. The drama chernobyl and the comedy room for complacency. Stath lets flats were among the big winners. We have to adhere to the guidelines and this is, eid al adha is very much about sacrifice and yes, it might not be what people its the fa cup final today would like to do but these and in any normal year wembley are the sacrifices we must make would be welcoming excited fans. To keep people safe. Adam mcclean, bbc news. Can you feel it in the atmosphere . On the first of august can you feel it in the atmosphere . On the first of august i didnt feel it either. Of course, normally it would have been complicated people that wembley would be a nyway it would have been complicated anyway this weekend with some of the throbbing with fans, but it is rules changing as was planned. We really quiet there. So we sent mike are now adjusting to the fact that the rules we thought going to change to make some noise. Notjust one balloon, but two good morning, now arent, and rules that had mike. Good morning. Huge sent me the already been liberalised. One of the things that were supposed to change challenge of finding a vuvuzela, todayis things that were supposed to change today is the whole business of which is ridiculous. But i have the beauty salons. If you had it in the arsenal and chelsea colours. Here is diary to go to a salon this weekend, a sound a bit like a vuvuzela. Blows you have to be more patient. Chris cannot get his eyebrows threaded, as we find out, because you cannot have 0n balloons. It sums a sound a bit like a vuvuzela. Blows on balloons. It sums up the feeling here, it is a bit deflated without any beauty treatments that involve the crowds. Normally it would be a sea the crowds. Normally it would be a sea of colour here. Being close to the face. Lets talk to our correspondent who is at a you feel for the businesses around here, which would normally do a roaring trade in the buildup to kick beauty salon in south manchester. Off, but not today. It is all very good morning to you. We had kind of empty and quiet. A few seagulls got used to the idea of going in and wearing a facemask if you are asked around, but that will be that for the rest of the day. It is still a to in the hairdressers, but i great occasion. Two clubs with a suppose beauty salons were so keen to get their business is going great occasion. Two clubs with a great history and the fa cup. In fa ct, because it was the next stage, great history and the fa cup. In fact, they met in the finaljust three years ago, in 2017. What a wasnt it . Absolutely. Good morning. Different day that was, with 80,000 there are things that you can get done at a beauty salon. For example, fans in the stadium. Arsenal one if you want to have a pedicure, get 21, fans in the stadium. Arsenal one 2 1, just like they did in the early to thousands. It will be very close, your feet stun or get a manicure, you feel. Arsenals only route to get hair extensions, that is going europe this season. A lot of ahead. But what we were supposed to pressure on both teams, it could be seeing a return to today was close close. Lets hear from them now. Contact treatments, things like the only aim, the only focus is on getting your eyebrows and eyelashes done, facials. Not being able to do that has been a real setback for winning that trophy tomorrow, because no matter where we start, Business Owners. Business owners two big clubs playing each other, it like this one, and you may recognise isa two big clubs playing each other, it is a really good moment. A difficult herfor it the time so far in this season. They are playing a really good level and we like this one, and you may recognise her for it the tv show the real housewives of cheshire. How much of are going to go for it. We are a crushing blow has it been finding getting used to it, and thats not out that you cannot do these to say that we like it, because we wa nt to say that we like it, because we want the fans back, but we have to treatments just hours before you respect current circumstances, reduce to resume . Client having particularly with what is happening in the last few days. We respect that in everything that we do. It is facials, eyebrows done, all of those what it is, as such, at the moment. Clients have had to cancel. We have the fact that we are getting used to it means you focus on the important had angry and frustrated clients. We things, which is us going up against feel really frustrated because on a very good team and trying to wind the 15th of august, we still might a very good team and trying to wind a football match. And all the time not be able to resume business as you have to pinch yourself to usual. Turnover is down by 70 and i realise it is august, and fa cup final on the first day of august cannot see us picking back up, what is more normal is the start of the scottish football season in definitely before christmas. One of august and that happens today. You the clients that you mentioned, we have aberdeen hosting ranges, while have got nora. You are here to get the current champions, celtic, are your hairdone, away. They host hamilton at home. It have got nora. You are here to get your hair done, but you were supposed to be getting your eyebrows done. How do you feel . I had it could be a chance to set a new booked weeks ago and to be let down re cord could be a chance to set a new record of ten championship titles in a row. Ranges will be determined to stop them. Last minute is very disappointing. Thank you. Nora, you dont have to but manager neil lennon has been down playing the pressure wear mask, thats ellie, who is on his side. Well, when i was at hibs you could hear the celtic fans doing your hair, is wearing a visor singing about going for the 10, in the 7th year. Because that is one of the safety when i came back in it was really intense, measures here. Tell us about the travel, travel, and then last season, getting the nine. So theyve already equalled that covid 19 Safety Measures you have got in place that would have made record, and now we can only beat it, you know . You ready to have the close up treatments . We do a foreheads temperature tech. They also sign a so i think its up to the rest release form to say they have not to try to stop us, rather than we put ourselves under massive pressure. Had any covid 19 symptoms in the the reversing of some lockdown easing measures by the government last few weeks. We make sure every in england has meant that plans area is sanitised every 15 minutes. To allow fans into some test sporting events have been postponed every member of my staff is wearing until at least august the 15th. One of those events where spectators were due to be admitted a mask, visor, as well as sanitising was the racing taking their hands and equipment as well. Place at goodwood today. To find outjust how big an impact we cannot go any further than the Safety Measures we have put in place. You are one of the areas that this decision could have, has had to go back into tighter lockdown. How did you feel when you heard that . Absolute devastation. If we can now speak to Adam Waterworth we had known two weeks in advance, no you cannot always put the safety from the goodwood estate. Measures in place, but less than 24 hours before clients walked through thanks forjoining us this morning. The door of. I have got therapists i understand some of the staff were at home not earning any money. I in tears yesterday when the news came, because i guess all the have but clients who are frustrated. Preparations you had gone through, to make it possible for fans to i cannot see light at the end of the safely return . Yeah, there was a tunnel. It is extremely disappointed huge amount of work went into it. We asa tunnel. It is extremely disappointed as a business owner. I am so sorry about what you are having to go would normally have hundred thousand people here for goodwood. It has through at the moment. We know that lots of businesses are having a tough time over the past few months, been more work to prepare for the 5000 people we were expecting today. And we hope that there would be a bit of easing today and a return to it was a really disappointing day normality. That has been delayed yesterday. Yeah, and it came as a because the government says it needs bit of a shock as well, because it to get a handle on rising infection rates and do what it can to stave was approved just the day before . Off the prospect of a second wave. Yeah, of course. We got a bit of a heads up at 11 oclock. That hour it isa off the prospect of a second wave. It is a scene that many of us are familiar with and are going to have to get used to. A new look of it all was spent really making sure we got our comms ready. But we basically working. Thanks very much. Some of heard the confirmation the same time as everyone else. So we were slightly more prepared. But it was a us, in terms of the beauty salon. Big disappointment after an incredible amount of work that the it is 922. Tea m incredible amount of work that the team had put in. Weather a certain the Scottish Government is warning people against non essential travel to parts of the north of england amount of nerves around because of affected by new restrictions. The advice was issued as 30 what happened in cheltenham, with new cases of coronavirus the consensus now being that should were confirmed in scotland, not have gone ahead, with all those leading the first minister to warn people back in march . Albeit there she would be prepared to take stronger action on restrictions at the border with we re people back in march . Albeit there were 40,000 back in burwood. Not england, if needed. Lets speak to professorjason really. There was, you know, during leitch, National Clinical director for scotland. The buildup there were times when trying to come up with a plan that when you would be safe, safety was it is always good to talk to you. Thank you very much for your time a lwa ys when you would be safe, safety was always first, and we were the pilot this morning. How are you . I am very scheme, using the new guidelines that had been put in place with well. I am a little starstruck this Public Health england and the dcms. Morning because you can tell mr so we were really confident that we mason that i listened to brexitcast could adhere to those plans. And normally we would have over 25,000 when it was running every day. What here on a saturday. 5000, we could ami come with that. And because of the when it was running every day. What am i then . I speak to you more tea m come with that. And because of the team we have got here, especially often. He isjust new. Would you the operations team, led by sarah holland, we were absolutely certain like chris to do the interview . That we could deliver a safe event. Certainly not. I am only teasing. It has always been about safety. So lets talk about how this is going to work between scotland and england. We have had this kind of with the issues yesterday, it was cautious look ahead from a Nicola Sturgeon about how it may work in inevitable. Just talk us about the terms of those travelling across the measures that would be taken for border either way. What is your interpretation of this and the when a potentially does come back, for fans arriving, how different reasoning behind it . would it gamble but they have to do interpretation of this and the reasoning behind it . I was with the first minister at the briefing as they arrive . It is very yesterday when together we told the different. Racing tends to be quite a mobile cloud. You see the paddocks country that we, the advisers, had suggested that there was a high and the horses in the parade drink enough risk now in this part of before the race, which is behind the north west england that we had stands, and then you make your way to the front of the stands to watch advised the Decision Makers to make the race. You tend to move around some changes. If you go back three the race. You tend to move around the venue. That would not have orfour happened today. So actually, rather some changes. If you go back three or four weeks, some changes. If you go back three orfour weeks, we did exactly the than one big enclosure of 5000, in same around dumfries, a scottish effect, we had ten enclosures of area where we were weighed about an outbreak. It is not a country thing. 500, so that we could, and everybody it isa had their own separate areas, so outbreak. It is not a country thing. It is a risk thing. Worried they could come into the separate about. The Scottish Government made some choices about what we think is enclosures. We knew that we could appropriate for scottish people keep people from mixing up those pinch points that you do get at all travelling back and forward. We have said there is a higher risk there, venues. We took all that out, by dont go unless you have to go for essential reasons, such as funerals stopping the amount of movement. So there was none of that movement or tearing. Dont go if you are just front to back. If you are in one of going for a vacation. And we have the enclosures at the front of the stands you were there for the day. Our customers were aware of that, although members were aware of that and they were all heavy to come. But also said, dont come because the asi and they were all heavy to come. But as i said, it was following risk is too high. How is your yesterdays news, i am afraid, and through the morning it was clear it thinking in terms of enforcing that if people ignore it because back was going to happen. We will leave thatis if people ignore it because back that is a good question. We havent gone down an enforcement route for it there. Thank you forjoining us and enjoy the last day of racing, very many of our guidelines. We are albeit without hands. I can only not intending to put barriers around imagine the scene with the glorious sunshine at the sussex downs. A dumfries and galloway, we have had a fantastic scene as always, but little outbreak in the west of without the fans it will not be the glasgow in the last few days. We are same. Good luck for the rest of not going to put police on the glorious goodwood, which ends today. Roads. We are a long way from it was even stranger at the anything like that. We have tried to principle for the snooker, with some treat people like adults, talk to 250 fa ns principle for the snooker, with some 250 fans allowed in, but the news them often and clearly and make that the brakes were being put on came guidance really robust so that halfway through that. The fans were allowed to stay for the rest of the people know they have a personal day but they will not be back there for the rest of the tournament. Responsibility. The government, of empty, devoid of fans, just like course, has a responsibility, but here on wembley way. But we will do much of this is about you and ijaz our best to create some sort of buildup, some sort of atmosphere, individual is and how we behave. Before the big kickoff. It is at that takes us 5 30pm and the buildup begins at 4 30pm. Listening to that interview just did with adam from goodwood estate, and i suppose, i mean, you will feel this more than anyone, at least sport is happening. Because at into you and i as individuals. One point wejust least sport is happening. Because at one point we just didnt know if, you know, if racing could take place or if all matches could take place. What do the numbers show you and how does that affect the advice from so, all right, it feels like it is a step back because the crowds are not there, but at least the sport is strongly advising from nonessential travel to absolutely, no, essential happening. Absolutely. And we will ta ke happening. Absolutely. And we will take that over anything, wont we . It isa take that over anything, wont we . It is a real comfort to be able to sit down in the afternoon, have the travel . Chris whitty said yesterday ipad outside and even watch from the that we have reached the edge of garden, with a cup of tea under what we can do safely while snack, just be able to enjoy so many suppressing the virus. Lets be different sports which are now back. Perfectly clear. It is the same this weekend alone you have formula virus that we had in march. It is 1. This weekend alone you have formula 1, the snooker, glorious goodwood, and the fa cup final. There is so exactly the same. All we have done much actually going on but we almost is restrict the population. That is ta ke how we have saved lives and got the much actually going on but we almost take that for granted now. Because they were so many months where, as numbers down. We havent done you say, there was literally nothing. We were following the anything to the virus. We have got russian football. Yes, and well done pretty much nothing that helps us with the balloons as well, mike. With this virus other than population level measures to get makeshift vuvuzelas from mike bushell. He always delivers. What everybody to behave. The simplest thing for me and chris and others to did he pinch from that market stall . We will check in on his act of faith say is stay in your house, let back act of theft later. To essential workers only, no pubs, now were all familiar with captain sir tom and his charity fundraising, and soon captain tobias no hospitality, no sport, lets go might be another name we all know. 9 year old Tobias Weller back to march. What were trying to has been inspired by the captain and back in april do, and the politicians are he walked a marathon, despite finding it difficult due balancing, is opening up businesses to his cerebral palsy. And the economy and at the same time he raised thousands of pounds and decided to carry on, measuring how we are doing with the and today hell finish his second marathon using a special bit of equipment called a race runner. Virus. That is really hard. You can see every country in the world hell also bejoined struggling with that. Melbourne, by one of sheffields most famous residents. Currently no cases. We have ap and then flat. They have flat and a im delighted to say we can speak to tobias and his mum ruth now. Peak. A peak. Then flat. They have flat and a peak. A peak. The number of cases increased by 30 in the last 24 good morning to you both. Tobias, hours, that the largest increase in you must be excited about facing recent weeks. We have spoken to your, i think you are calling it a Nicola Sturgeon as well, you have tobialathon, arent you . How much do looked at certain areas, you you have left ago . I am very mentioned dumfries. You have been excited i cant wait to get very cautious and explained that caution is well and heard on the started. Ive got 1. 2 kilometres side of caution. The numbers are left, and most of all, i am looking still going up, and if that happens, where are you leaning towards now in forward to finishing stop tobias, terms of restrictions . where are you leaning towards now in terms of restrictions . I am almost with you. I am not sure i know yet how does it feel knowing you have raised so much money . You have raised so much money . You have raised more than £100,000 for your that the numbers are going up. We will get day to day variation, i school and for sheffield childrens hospital. Did you think you could know that. Yesterday, we tested ever raise that much . It feels 15,000 people and got 30 positives, half of which were in our regular amazing to know that i have raised ca re half of which were in our regular care home testing. Two or three of which were attached to a specific so much money, and it will make a outbreak and the rest were spread in huge difference in so many sporadic groups around the country. The first thing i look at everyday childrens lives. Absolutely. It is is that e mail that comes in, and it is that e mail that comes in, and it is what the first minister does amazing to think i have raised this everyday as well. That is number of much money. Ruth, i am looking at deaths, and we havent had any for you, and you looking at tobias, and 15 days in scotland. If you had asked me six weeks ago, i wouldnt he is so excited and so proud. You have believed that possible. We have had 99 cases in seven days. The must be doubly proud. I canjust see you smiling, grinning from ear to numbers are good, but i am worried earand you smiling, grinning from ear to ear and looking at what he has that 30 might 2060, which might achieved. Tell us about tobias and what drives him and what has given him this impetus . He isjust a very 2300. Of i am. Determined young man. He is desperate to raise lots and lots of that 30 might 2060, which might 2300. Of i am. Turn to 300. We money. He wants to do a sponsored are concerned about anything that brings households together and they walk. In may, we can do that because break the rules. What number would you get when you turn around and say, we are taking the step back and of lockdown. So he decided to do his marathon walk, and at the end of tightening restrictions again . M that, he enjoyed it so much, he got say, we are taking the step back and tightening restrictions again . It is not so much about the exact number. So much out of it, that he just it is about the difference between pushed himself on to do the second marathon. And as you can see heres managing an outbreak, so 30 cases in clapping and cheering, he loves it. A call centre, for example, if you know all of their names and where you mentioned you would be doing the they sat at work, which houses they walk today with a famous sheffield live in and which pub they go into, resident, jessica and until joining you for the last stage of the thatis live in and which pub they go into, that is much easier to manage than challenge . How exciting if youve got 60, 70 out in the you for the last stage of the challenge . How exciting you for the last stage of the challenge . How exciting ijumped a bit, that just has population and you do not know who they are and you do not know the challenge . How exciting ijumped a bit, thatjust has said yes to households. Then you strike to get racing me. But im not going to give her a head start i certainly back to community transmission. That is why we need a wouldnt give her a head start, no, in any sense, and i imagine she wouldnt want it. Obviously a lot of work goes into this and a lot of organisation as well. You must have precision Public Health thing. You been pretty busy. I imagine for most cannot open bingo halls if you do not know he was in the bingo hall. People and lockdown it is kind of test and trace has got to patch heads down, keep government, you must have been pretty busy helping cases. test and trace has got to patch cases. Catch. Test and trace has got to patch cases. Catch. Would you like to thankjason . I am still blushing. Delighted to have you as a listener. Thank you. Coming up later on the show, we have an amazing dog rescue story for you. You always want to know the names of the dance. Here they are. Here they are. Hattie and toast are the Jack Russells who spent eight days stuck down a hole, but thankfully made it out with the help of a fire crew. Well have the full story in about 20 minutes. Hello, this is breakfast with Naga Munchetty and chris mason. Coming up before 10. 00am, well have the sport and weather, but first, a summary of this mornings main news. The Police Federation of england and wales has said people who kill a Police Officer should face the rest of their lives in prison. The call came after the three teenagers who killed pc Andrew Harper were yesterdayjailed after being found guilty of manslaughter. The 28 year old Thames Valley Police Officer was killed in the line of duty one month after his wedding day. In a victim impact Statement Read to the court, his widow lissie harper, spoke of the devastating loss. The lead investigator, superintendent stuart blaik, joins us now from the Thames Valley police headquarters. Good morning to you. Your reaction first of all to the sentencing yesterday. This has been an incredibly difficult 11 months for everybody involved in this investigation, obviously the family, and all the Police Officers and colleagues. The sentencing yesterday was the culmination of 11 months of work and we welcomed the sentence that was passed, along with the comments about the high culpability that these three defendants had in relation to this case. When you hear the Police Federation saying that the Police Federation saying that the killing of a Police Officer should involve a sentence that is a lifetime in prison, do you agree . Yes, i do. Lifetime in prison, do you agree . Yes, ido. I lifetime in prison, do you agree . Yes, i do. Ivery lifetime in prison, do you agree . Yes, i do. I very much support that. I think all of my colleagues up and down the country would share that view. Talk to us about the particular challenges of investigating this case. Clearly in your line of work, you are regularly investigating crimes that are harrowing and horrendous, but it must be on another level when it is one of your colleagues who was the victim of the crime. Yes, of course. It has been extremely difficult. We are very proud of our history in relation to dealing with the most serious crimes, but when it is one of your own and it is a colleague, i didnt know andrew but over the last 11 months i feel like i know him very well now, it is extremely distressing and difficult. We are very proud of the investigation, the Police Officers and police staff that work tirelessly over the last 11 months and to be able to bring this case before the courts and bring convictions in relation to it. It must have such a big psychological impact on officers. While anyone signing up to the Police Officers knows the potential risks, bluntly, isuppose Police Officers knows the potential risks, bluntly, i suppose there is a difference between the potential of something happening, then seeing a colleague in those circumstances, which includes are Police Officers would be able to relate to. Answering a call, going along, not knowing what youre going to encounter. I think everybody understands that policing is a risky business, but you go to work and you face those risks dearly. We all want to go home back to ourfamilies at the end of that shift. It is incredibly difficult to really understand how it makes people feel, really, to see one of your collea g u es really, to see one of your colleagues suffer the most catastrophic injuries in the way that he did. You just cant start to begin to try and understand the emotions that they must have gone through and continue to go through to this day, and probably the rest of their lives and careers. We got an insight in the victim impact statement from the wife of pc harper. They are relatively new addition in the process of sentencing in the courts, that there is an opportunity for victims to speu is an opportunity for victims to spell out in human terms the impact of the crime. Part day a useful additional tool as far as the sentencing is concerned . Additional tool as far as the sentencing is concerned . additional tool as far as the sentencing is concerned . I think so. The carriage that was shown by lizzie and amy yesterday was amazing, but i think it is the first time that the family have had an opportunity to say how they feel and how it has affected them. As you said, the words from lizzie and amy and all of the family, you dont really understand it until you hear it and we heard it first hand yesterday. You hear cliches about people finding closure, people being able to move on and often it is much more difficult than that. Obviously, for the family of the victim in any case, but from your perspective as a lead investigator, to be able to parcel up something mentally and move on to the next crab you have to investigate. That is kind of what we do, but we will never forgets this investigation, although the Police Officers and staff. This will never leave us. We do have to move on to the next investigation, but thatis on to the next investigation, but that is in no way lessening the impact it is sad and all of us. It has been a very difficult 11 months. Thank you for talking to us about it. We appreciated. Nick will have the weather for us. For many of us it was a boiling hot day yesterday. Much more temperate temperatures. Thats a good phrase another day, another time there would be huge celebrations. Kreutz, cheers, colourful t shirts, but would be huge celebrations. Kreutz, cheers, colourfult shirts, but we are not doing that today. We are having a slightly deflated balloon, a chirpy mike always. Good morning, mike. The fa have put in stringent safety protocols in place, so there is no point having both of us in there today, really. Dan will do football focus from inside the stadium. He has been through all the temperature testing and cut inside from this morning. Dan . Dan . Thank you, Alan Partridge good morning, everybody, to inside wembley. This is what it will look like later, new fans for the first time, inside this fa cup final as chelsea take on arsenal. We have been through the medical screening this morning, this is the plan that shows we are allowed to be inside wembley. Our temperature taken, we are asked questions, then you get your accreditation. It has been a strange and long season. There is an ounce of familiarity about this because of the 13 panels that have been played in this new wembley stadium, eight of them have been won by at chelsea, arsenal, who also have a great record in the fa cup final. It is already touching nearly 20 degrees here at wembley this morning at 9 40am. The game will kick off later this afternoon, live coverage on bbc one from 4 30pm. That is the studio just being constructed. That is where gary, ashley cole, alan shearer and ian wright will be later. The two managers have fantastic records here. Mikael arteta, he managers have fantastic records here. Mikaelarteta, he has managers have fantastic records here. Mikael arteta, he has won it before, he is trying to become the arsenal captain who then won it as arsenal captain who then won it as arsenal manager. It is beautiful. We play the sport to make people happy and you know when you are there youre making thousands of people happy. A lot of work behind the scenes, lots of moments that are not easy. Thatjuice. Everything make sense when you get there. The losers are quickly forgotten. If you can run it it is something that stays with you individually, and as a club. I want to do my best to try to win the game. We will hear more from them in football focus, which is on airfrom midday today. Dion dublin and alex scott will be here with us, as well. It has been a weird and long season. At the last 52 weeks, there have been 50 episodes of football focus, so we are in line for a well earned break normally you would have abide with me some on the pitch, that will be pre recorded. I did go through temperature checks on the matter controls outside with the fella who will be singing the National Anthem live. Yes, it is the fa cup final, the end of the domestic season, but chelsea play in the Champions League next week. In 28 days time one of these teams will be back here to play in the community shield. The start of the premiership season is only six weeks away you do have to pinch yourself to think of the fa cup final on the 1st of august. It is so eerily quiet here on wembley way. Normally all the sea of colour would be here. While the english season is approaching its finale, today marks the start of the new season in scotland. It all kicks off with aberdeen hosting rangers at lunchtime. Current champions celtic dont play until tomorrow, when they host hamilton academical. Celtic, of course, are going for a record breaking tenth league title in a row. This will be celtics First Experience of playing without fans in the ground as last season finished early because of the pandemic. Here is what manager neil lennon is expecting of this new challenge. You will have to adapt and work quickly to no christ and the lack of atmosphere. We have to approach it as we have done to every other game in the past. It was a bit of a strange experience at the snooker yesterday. The World Championships in sheffield was one of the events picked to be a pilot event for the return of some fans. There they were some 250 watching on at the crucible theatre, but then halfway through the day came the governments announcement that they were putting the brakes on. While the fans were allowed to stay for the rest of the day, but not for the rest of the tournament. The lucky ones in for the first day sanudd trump began the defence of his World Snooker title with a hard fought victory over tom ford at the crucible last night. Qualifying for tomorrows british grand prix gets under way a little later after a difficult day of practice yesterday. World champion Lewis Hamilton could only manage fifth fastest in windy conditions. Alexander albon suffered this heavy crash in his red bull as lance strolls racing point set the pace in second practice. That came after the news that Nico Hulkenberg will take the place of sergio perez this weekend after the mexican tested positive for coronavirus. Its the final day of the glorious goodwood race meeting today. They had planned to have a crowd of 4,000 in attendance as part of the governments pilot scheme. Racing will still goes ahead, only behind closed doors. The highlight of yesterdays meeting was odds on favorite battaash breaking his own course record to win the king george qatar stakes for the fourth year in a row. So unusual on wembley way, the silence, just myself and a few seagulls. Can you hear that, knacker . The sound of vuvuzela . No, we are cheating, it is on the phone. It is like being back in 2010. I doff my cap to you, you find one eventually, the vuvuzela. Enjoy the football. I think the vuvuzela has given him a funny term. Have a fabulous afternoon. We could see plenty of sunshine, neck, on wembley way in london. How is it looking and the rest of the country . A bright start in the eastern side of the country, further west there is more cloud around. The weather is so is more cloud around. The weather is so different today in terms of heat compared with yesterday, because we know yesterday was extremely harsh. Near 38 celsius at heathrow. Look at the difference today. More than 10 degrees cooler across many areas today. This weather front has swept on through. Behind that attack cooler, fresher atlantic air. A wea ker cooler, fresher atlantic air. A weaker weather from falling behind with a few showers. A lot of cloud to start today in the west. It will brighten up here. Where you have had to sunshine, some clouds will move east taking with it a few showers, you might catch a happy one. Northern ireland will see some rain coming back later this afternoon and to this evening. Temperature is mainly high teens and low 205, a few spots in the south east in the mid 205. After this only starts at wembley, we will see more cloud this afternoon. A very slim chance of a shower later on, but it is looking mainly dry. At silverstone today and tomorrow, after dayton went up yesterday, temperatures much closer to average for the time of year. A shower cant be ruled out, otherwise known weather drama for the big sport this weekend. Outbreaks of rain into Northern Ireland this evening, then pushing them to Northern England and scotland. Maybe north wales. Further south it will stay dry. For tomorrow, north wales. Further south it will stay dry. Fortomorrow, north north wales. Further south it will stay dry. For tomorrow, north south splits. We are moving through Northern England and scotland to start the day, but it will brighten up start the day, but it will brighten up from the west here is the day goes on. A bright stop in Northern Ireland, but we get heavier burst of removing and in the afternoon. The rest of england and wales, essentially dry, with temperatures in the high team are low 205. Starting the new week, this area of low pressure will miss us to the site. This looks like it is coming in on tuesday with a spell of rain. After that spell of rain on tuesday, with temperatures into the high teens, it could quite could get quite hot again next week for some of us. Thank you, nick. When two curious jack russell dogs in essex failed to come back home, their owner feared the worst. The search was vast, using a drone and sausages as bait, but hopes started to fade until eight days later, when toast and her mum, hattie, were found stuck down a hole. Now thanks to a team of fire and rescue workers, the dogs are now safe and well and we can speak to owner katie and her daughter lucy alongside toast and hattie. There are toast and hattie. You are both smiling so broadly . Lets do the introductions, which is toast amateurs hattie . This is hattie, this is toast. Hattie and toast are mum and daughter, as well . They are carriers and they love rummaging in the hedge and sniffing smells, but they had never been gone like that, no. They do ways of summer, you call them back and they come home, but no, it got dark. We were doing to horses and they were in the field, and they had gone off doing their thing and when we cold them they we re thing and when we cold them they were gone. It got later and later and by the following day, i thought somebody would have thought of that or pick them up or something, but no. That is when i started to feel really sick. Lucy was beside herself. It is great to know that toast and hattie have perfected the wave on zoom. Toast and hattie have perfected the wave on zoom. They have nailed it lucy, pick up the story from there. As we were saying, and chair of the sausages and the drone. Yes, so we had some really lovely people from a charity he helped us organise everything and create a Facebook Group so everyone everything and create a Facebook Group so everyone could post on it. We had a dream, a tracker dog, we put sausages out every damn the barbecue which the capital was fantastic we even picked up wildlife cameras in the area with a tracker dog was suggesting that they were. We got a lot of badgers and foxes and wildlife if the sausages dont work with dogs, it becomes a problem, doesnt it . Talk is to the moment where you find out where they were, in the process of getting them out . Iam glad in the process of getting them out . I am glad they are right now because a couple of days later they have just harvested the field that they we re just harvested the field that they were in the hedges of. Lucy went to check the wildlife cameras and one of them was set up in that area, and she said, mum, i think i can hear barking. It was definitely toast. We called a friend immediately he had a camera. They have one of those long cameras that they were able to put down the hole. The hole was literally that big. We can see it. We arejust literally that big. We can see it. We are just showing the pictures that you kindly sent in for us. How we re that you kindly sent in for us. How were they physically . It had been eight days. They must have. We think that toast lost enough weight to get higherup think that toast lost enough weight to get higher up in bark. The stars of British Television were out, virtually at least, for last nights bafta tv awards. The event was held online for the first time because of coronavirus and the big winners included strictly come dancing, idris elba and the drama chernobyl. Our entertainment correspondent Colin Paterson spoke to the stars. Hejoins us now. These baftas, they were so different, one day, from what we have seen before. This was unlike any ceremony i have ever covered the ba ftas. I any ceremony i have ever covered the baftas. I didnt have to wear a tuxedo. I wore shorts throughout because nobody could see my bottom half. I was in a virtual winners room online. Every ten minutes or so up room online. Every ten minutes or so up after winner would pop up and to interview them. Suddenly it was claimed that jansen beside interview them. Suddenly it was claimed thatjansen beside a interview them. Suddenly it was claimed that jansen beside a potted plant. Then idris elba popped up, he won the special award. He was sitting in a caravan that he keeps on his back garden. Then there was shannon clifford, she revealed that she went wrong to see her co star in feedback, Phoebe Waller bridge, her house. They were both dialling in for the big moment when Phoebe Waller bridges broadband field, so they rushed round to a neighbour who was climbing a mountain, got into his house and used his broadband. We broke into our friend was my choice, because we were trying to do it in hergarden and we because we were trying to do it in her garden and we were getting feedback, and the per people from ba fta feedback, and the per people from bafta said you need to sort it out. Our connection wasnt working. We broke into our friend poss my close down the road, he is away on holiday. I ended up in here. She ran over and handed me holiday. I ended up in here. She ran overand handed me a holiday. I ended up in here. She ran over and handed me a godmother statue in the place of our bafta, and we had a good cry together. Lets talk about strictly come dancing picking up another bafta. You can tell some stuff about the forthcoming new season. Yes, the 17th season of strictly come dancing won a bafta last night. I got to speak to shirley ballas, the judge. She has broken herforjogging, so she was home. She is also having an covid test, she will find that her results today. She was able to tell us about a bit. We are self isolating in a hotel for all the group numbers. That is about all i can tell you. They are taking massive precautionary measures. There will be a bit more spacing on the desk. There will be one way traffic going on. They will think of everything to make it work. You cant have an autumn and winter without strictly come dancing the great thing is, as we are seeing in your lunch, we saw in lots of celebrities houses, which is always a thrill. Fascinating to see who had gone for it. I spoke to naomi aki, she had such a boring backdrop, and i asked her why. She had such a boring backdrop, and iasked her why. She she had such a boring backdrop, and i asked her why. She turned the camera around and the room was full of boxes, she was moving house this week. I thought the baftas worked really well, 90 minutes, short speeches, richard r whitey was really funny. I think we could learn a lot from that, make it a bit shorter. It worked. The broadband clicked of just shorter. It worked. The broadband clicked ofjust as his broadband clicked. I very well organised man, that . Thank you. Thats all from us this morning.
