Somerset Wednesday strive not with you until 7 as usual and back on to the big news of the day and that is that police have begun a murder investigation after a lorry was discovered in Essex with 39 bodies inside the lorry driver a 25 year old man from Northern Ireland has been arrested let's find out some more details now from our reporter Manpreet Penda a member Good afternoon thank you very much for joining me what more do we know at the moment and we know that 38 of that 8 of the victims 39 of the victims sorry a 38 were adults and one was a teenager the police has said that there were no survivors and we have had in any the last hour or so an update from police is to where they say the lorry came from and initially the lorry was thought to have travelled from Bulgaria and then entered the country through Holly had in North Wales on Saturday and then made its way to ethics and but in this update out that we've got here the police say that the vehicle is registered in Bulgaria but there their inquiries now lead them to believe that the trail travelled from Zapruder in Belgium into Purfleet on the River Thames and then docked in authority of Essex shortly after 1230 this morning and then it left about 35 minutes later and ended up in the industrial estate which is where police were called Do we know anything about the victims yet. Not really Essex Police say that they are trying really hard to identify the victims but of course it could be a lengthy process with 39 bodies having been find of the lobby they say that there are there aren't even even any details yet that they can give us about where the people who died were from so you know their nationality let alone why they may have been making that journey there are some suggestions that it could be some kind of people smuggling operation and but again nothing's been confirmed yet and one of the police said so far. And while there they say that they're dealing with a very complex and of course active matter inquiry say they're not able to give us a huge deal of information at the moment they have said that they're working very hard to identify who the who the victims are and that will involve dealing with lots of local and international partners and agencies to try and share intelligence people Mills's from Essex petty She gave us this update this is an absolute tragedy and very sad day for Essex pace place in the local community we will continue to work alongside many other partner agencies to find out what led to these deaths but not to pilfer anyone who has any information to contact my offices of the major investigation tape on 1010 by visiting our 6 police website.
