Many friends or you want a quiet day this could be the perfect place you could have a bunch of friends outside I must say it would not be my choice of venue for a wedding but everybody is different but also because of the thickness of the Deuils wedding done shut the door make sure it's locked that's a honeymoon where you wouldn't get put through. Really really interesting building if you've ever seen it does look like a policeman's helmet it's just off the high street at Castle Cary and that was and Ross the archivist of the museum showing me round right very nearly 8 o'clock that was the day I go in. Convenience for 4 he says his son is sad. Because there is no place like. The B.C.S. Anderson and with a news update Here's Kelly with Good Morning the president of the European kind so Donald too scarce defended the E.U.'s approach to the Salzburg summit insisting it was to reason who had appeared surprisingly uncompromising in a statement last night he said Britain had known for weeks about the E.U. Subject gins to the checkers proposals is are your regional editor Mike Saunders To started by reiterating that the E.U. Fully respects the BRICS it votes he said the E.U. Had always been focused on limiting the damage as he put it addressing the Prime Minister's complaint about this respect he said the E.U. Had studied the Checkers proposals in all seriousness the British had known about the E.U.'s reservations in every detail for many weeks he said highlighting the arash border conundrum Mr tusk described the U.K. Stance of the Salzburg summit as surprisingly tough an uncompromising but he said that he remained convinced that a compromise good for all was still possible some says British Red Cross is appealing for more volunteers drive this to help it run its patient transport service in the county at the moment it helps around 20 people every day to get to on quality appointments in Taunton and Bristol but it's Bates facing a shortage of drivers as it thick this thing volunteers retire so I think Walker from Somerset British Red Cross explains why many people volunteer with the my memories hardly have. So we are currently looking for more volunteers because it is a purely volunteer basis on average about 20 trips a day. So that both to the Beacon service or at Musgrave to bristol board of primary the shadow chancellor John McDonnell has said a future Labor government would be ready to start nationalizing key industries from the day it takes office speaking on the eve of the party's annual conference in Liverpool Mr McDonnell said a new unit would be established in the treasury to oversee the process and in some cases investors might not be compensated he predicted that nationalization of rail services could be completed within 5 years we will have new structures a government shall be I'll be ready on day one going into government well to bring forward legislation implement the policy and the new structures will enable people passengers on Ryo customers on water or energy or room out to have their say as well they'll be part of the management process people in Somerset have 4 weeks to give their feedback on a new form Discussing end of life care the Somerset treatment escalation plan was introduced in April and is a more comprehensive form the end of life care where patients can specify what they do and don't want to tally Davis explains that he joked he meant is an updated Do Not Resuscitate for the difficulty of it in a C.P.R. Forms is that the old kind of red ones that you might see on the television quite kind of one thing or another and they quite stark and they don't give people the opportunity to think about all that would be done up until that point so this in essence is partly in a C.P.R. Form and it has taken over all of the red forms and otherwise if people still have those in the home they can continue with them and his support Bristol City have lost a 2nd straight game going down one nil at Wigan in the Championship need a side created many chances with Nick Powell heading the only goal in the 2nd half City head coach Larry Johnson said he was embarrassed by his team's performance can make a 1000000 excuses but it's not right to make excuses and I reraise he was outplayed and we didn't deserve to win statistics and probably tell you that we had more and more possession and stuff but it wasn't it was in the. Levels and. Performs. The weather rain will spread northwards and eastwards this morning and there will be spells of rain it will stay cloudy through tonight today's top temperature will be 12 degrees Celsius that's 54 degrees Fahrenheit. Thank you. If you are a fan the chances of an. Album 6. Good for a season currently 5th in the table and with a game in hand that. From the. Related incident that will take us back to. If you've got one and you've got a couple of hours of. Need you. To people Billy Joel and an uptown girl on the U.C. Somerset eighty's 19 minutes past Saturday Breakfast thank you for choosing to spend your Saturday morning with us now you may well have been through essential for you've been there to support a friend or a loved one so the chances are you will know that it is quite stressful trying to cope with having cancer and the last thing you need is the added worry of how you're going to get to that all important hospital appointments Well the British Red Cross here in Somerset has a team of volunteers drivers to help make sure the people who maybe can't travel easily to Taunton or Bristol will get to see their specialists and will avoid missing appointments unnecessarily but here's the thing they need more volunteers drivers earlier I spoke to Sophie Walker from the service to ask how the whole thing works back in place collaboration with some 2nd call commissioning great provide oncology transport service to patients who need help getting to their right to harsh to appointments either Taunton Park Hospital their precious so in. The case of fallen. Driving patients to their appointments and then returning them within the same day and this is a brilliant service isn't it because for the people who were going through the treatments there's so much stress that they're already having to deal with getting to the hospital in time safely and relaxed is a really important thing. That they I think the patients and volunteers get out of it so the patients that I say one less stress of worrying about knowing that transport. Taken care of that have to worry about parking anything like that they've got friendly face picking them up taking them to the appointment and then waiting and then taking them back and the volunteers get out of it while helping someone get to their appointments meeting new people say Oh yes definitely very worthwhile so so how many volunteers to have at the minute given this we hardly have to say we are currently looking for more volunteers because it is a purely fallen to paste this and how many people do that on average we do about 20 trips a day so that both to the Beacon center Musgrave and to Bristol would have 5 Marie 20 a day went I mean I can see the numbers. Is yes and we don't you volunteers those patients get to those appointments or maybe they wouldn't do that maybe they wouldn't call all patients like they otherwise probably wouldn't be able to get they'd have to use public transport which for appointments like this is just no way it's such a long way and such a long time for them to be having to transport also particularly when you're emotionally and physically drained from from an appointment like they probably would be just difficult wouldn't. Definitely volunteers they tend to call up the patient microphone arrange a time to pick them up and take them to the appointments and the patient knows that the boat is coming in this will sort it and then they just get in the car and they don't have to worry about anything else but the appointment so it takes a huge weight off of that showed this kind of job someone just a 22 on the way back a bankruptcy that feeling or maybe not to do so that was really cool. Definitely we get some just chat way that someone impartial to talk to about things or life say some would have to. Sit in the corner and just have a quiet Jenny in the building she is speaking. To people looking at the people who they are supporting who helps the volunteers the volunteers get full training provided by the British Red Cross for free as a 2 day course and then the support that goes on with have an office based there in Taunton the where I thought oh day Monday to Friday when the trip to going on say volunteers always able to contact us and to get any additional support from the staff here in the office that never never left to the people tend to be volunteers from so they can drive have got their own cars and just have a few hours to spare each week and a willing to drive someone to their to that treatment either in Taunton or press do they get over that expenses and mileage covered by. Really interesting service and you know what a good bit of work you could do if you've just spent couple of hours and a car so he will get there from the British Red Cross in Somerset appealing for more volunteer drivers so if you are interested if you think something you might like to do get in touch with we can pass on all of the information T. Or if you just Google Red Cross some volunteers you can see with information on their rightful to minutes past. You can trust B.B.C. Somerset speaking the cause of the more of them around is Charlie Power thank you very much no not too bad at the moment still silently looking fairly quiet the M 5 looking fairly good no accidents or instance or 2 reports a few road works around South Street in crew current temperature a few lights there for water mains works in a northern way at the same for some pieces terrorists in Bath it doesn't look like it's causing too many issues at the moment through Taunton way and reach and Bridge Street. In patches that no major issues and public transport today replacement buses on Southwest and drink care and extras and David's that's because of engineering works and services between London Waterloo and makes sense and David's will terminate and restart at Croker And so if you are planning on traveling by train to this weekend the best advice really is to check before you travel he's one else that we haven't please give us a ring if it's safe and legal of course 080-678-1566. That phrase was over the good old days when everything was great well if you want to Yeovil Town fan you don't even have to cast your mind back that far just to last Saturday with the freaking money through. The mystery you will never see from Joe Di What more can possibly go right for you over to soften a. Flood out for people right and you overlaid by 6 Chris spittles they're loving being able to use the phrase What more could possibly go wrong it's for Yeovil till now and that result of course lifted the gloves to fit in the table and they've got a game in hand on the teams around them so today they've got the small matter of West Country Dubey at home against Swindon So how is the mood in the camp I'm thinking. But let's check in with the gaffer manager Darryl White Good morning. I mean what a result last Saturday it was a very good result the result which we call the tree 62. Lassies and there's one or 2 players experienced 6 but to do it in the fashion that we've done in Newport way which I can honestly say it's probably been my most difficult job to manage that scene because of the way they play. You know it's very pleasing. And you were very level headed when it comes to the importance of every match and every result but I mean to see 6 goals go and you must have been beside yourself. Well it's very important you keep the players grounded this time. You can imagine how confident they were when they left the ground the 1st thing we talked about is complacency the position where. The team at the moment you know the opposition are going to want to try and break all records because you know we're we're trying to create a little bit of history today we've we've not conceded Nicko So there's a number of reasons why we go make sure we keep the group focused and how do you do that because you know it's easy to say we've got to keep focus we've got to keep on the ground but when you have a result now and lastly you kind of can't help but but but I imagine all of you so you get swept up in the excitement that comes starts with the fans and then then works its way through to the dressing room. Well as a manager and a leader you know you have to church on its own merit sometimes players are going to need an arm around them sometimes you know that they're going to need training in that little bit more we've got difficult period coming up with the number of games we've got some young players so it don't really stop really as a manager to try and get the Pallant right we keep talking about. You know we all can be positive if there's going to be days where we feel. It's really important if there is a moment where we're not feeling out that we know how to see again now and that's one thing that this group is taken on board in and we've all got the same values values are very important shared values I think we've gone from the top of the club to the bottom of the moment and we've all got the same vision and everyone is working so hard to try and be successful this year and manage in that internally you do in a brilliant job avoid the pleasure of come in and he responds in all of the motivational signs the end of their one of the little reminders about you know think of the big picture it's all positive but what's the big that you have no control over the fans and you know we know with the fans are very passionate we know that with social media they've got an instant way of getting intelligent and you know the source of saying that then I've been at least that is a preview of that because you didn't so well this season have you found that that side of easy is in a positive fashion as well. But of our relationship with support for 19 years and we've been at one in there's been many a moment where they've opened clucking me I think from the whole of this process of being realistic. How to board a couldn't promise the poor promotion with the budget I was working with it was almost impossible my job for the last 2 years has been survive though financially make the club stable and we posted a profit in the last 2 years and it took me 2 now to get players develop players our own players and unfortunately that takes thought and I was having a conversation with not you class last week just trying to ask him and pick ace brains with a club like and how far is to that club and he said the trouble we've all got now is the time he said not bad got Times are Alex Ferguson got time unfortunately and everyone's found the weapon to kill you now enough so she media and you've got to have a very strong board to support yes to build a football club and not full of fun and you know when people say you doing really well now trust me I can honestly say I had so much more rewards for how difficult it was in the last 2 years to try and keep the club and for only with with the project we was working on until we had the finances provide him with the man you know a gang that was rewarding as well so you know from from wealth come from as a manager you know inside of been going on over fronts but unfortunately it's not been visible for the supposed to say I'm so pleased now that they can actually see a thing but I'm waiting and let's talk about today Swindon couple of points behind you. Expected it. Yeah it's been difficult and on no it's interesting say that because you know we win 6 now and even the fucking all muscular Ploesti get 6 and they still just don't stop wanting to break barriers and we want to keep our clean sheet rock will go on with your history today so that's important and we've got squat so gotta make changes those players that come in are going up against Phil Bronstein you know it's going to be young too and you know he's not going to come with his team and sit on the ball so I'm expecting a fast flowing game and hopefully we'll have a good crowd in the playoffs or sick or something but good luck Darren always do is have you on thank you very much for coming on this morning you know give the team on the shoulder 4 hours before the month that I support or really appreciate all the help we can get down the stairway Yeovil town gaffer has been ahead of his side's match against Swindon he thought commentary this afternoon on Saturday spoke on B.B.C. Somerset as well as Bristol Rovers against Coventry and you've got Bath rugby against saying different things different frequencies you work it all out come to a club this afternoon Simon parking B.D.C. Something. Like 27 it's a bit blowy out and it's going to get blow we're bad hair days all round he's a born morning when examined it is absolutely yes the 100 stepped out the door across him is that this morning rush around the down starts and it's a sign of things to come in the freight for today and 1st thing tomorrow morning's mavericks of rain across the spreading in from the south and west the bulk of this rain is and mainly light and patchy there we could see a few moderate to heavy bass in there at times the winds picking up all the while and a cool feels the air today behind us now better than around 12 or 13 Celsius into this evening though the. Brakes of rain are expected to gradually pull away to the east in something dry overnight often rather cloudy though but fairly mild nothing too cold as temperatures went for much below 809 Celsius and then some further outbreaks of heavy possibly persistent rain to Greta's 1st thing on Sunday morning but the good news is that rain pretty quickly closed away to the east from around the middle part of the morning then things dry up it becomes brighter good spells of sunshine developing certainly an improving picture although it could be telling quite windy for a time once again into Sunday gusts of 35 possibly 40 mph are a possibility they're a little bit of uncertainty at the moment as to the exact strength of the wind speeds tomorrow a brisk northerly winds then and quite a cool feel as a result temperatures reaching around 13 Celsius but then those temperatures will begin to creep up into next week is much calmer dry and brighter with the return of some sunshine SIMON That's what we want calmer dry and brighter is good for us thank you Alex Simon Parkin B.B.C. Bay TARP plan statement is update now from Kelly with us good morning the president of the European Council has defended the use approach to the Salzburg summit insisting Britain had known for weeks about the E.U.'s objections to the checkers proposals in a statement issued last night he said the Prime Minister's plan had been treated with all seriousness and that it was Theresa May who had appeared surprisingly uncompromising but he thought a deal could still be raised summer says British Red Cross is appealing for more volunteer drivers to help it run its patient transport service in the county at the moment it helps around 20 people every day to get to on quality appointments in Taunton and Bristol but is facing a shortage of drivers as its existing volunteers retire the shuttle Charles Leger McDonnell has said a future Labor government would be ready to start nationalizing key industries from the day it takes office speaking on the eve of the party's annual conference in Liverpool missed the McDonnell set a new unit would be established in the treasury to oversee the process and nationalization of rail services could be completed within a 5 years people in Somerset have 4 weeks to get their feet back on a new form Discussing end of life care the Somerset treatment escalation plan was introduced in April and is a more comprehensive form the end of life care where patients can specify what they do and don't want and Bristol City head coach Les Johnson says he's embarrassed by his team's performance in their one duel defeat at Wigan in a game a few chances their opponents scored early in the 2nd half and city rarely threatened to get back on level terms is a 31. Thank you Kelly So back. If you are strictly fan you are not alone and you know you do you know over 50 countries have their own versions of the show and according to the Guinness Book of Records ladies the most successful reality television show format and of course it was born here and every year it just grows and grows and as we speak the 16th series is getting going 15 new celebrities swith their professional partners taking to the dance floor for the 1st time he's got the talent is good enough let's find out from our our insider journalist Caroline Frost is here to look forward to the competition morning Caroline good morning we talk every year you were a big fan it's like I'm around to get it when it's like Christmas in my world but but how excited on a scale of one to 10 a week for this series did know every year they say oh it's not what it was blah blah blah but I actually pretty convinced this is an impressive turnout this year in terms of diversity in terms of different kind of people contributing all the celebs and you've got a couple of kind of you've got a boy band or you've got a casualty star you've got Kate Silverton news reader Graeme Swann a cricketer Susannah Constantine Danny John Jules just something for everyone I say . What about the professional dancers because you know they are becoming more and more famous as 8 saying. Yes Well of course this will be the 1st year without Brendan of course so big change there on the actual dancing lineup but you do you got the stars I mean Giovanni penny and Gorkha Marquez they've become famous people in their own name Absolutely and then you've got the lovely ot Macusi she's teamed up with Graeme Swann and you've got Kevin Clifton who for years didn't seem to have a. Sort of when everyone was the bridesmaid never the bride he's come good and this year he's teamed up with Stacey duty and they are according to the bookies the 4th favorite this year so looking out for them so he would go to the bookies and the rights of the actual bookies taps is on the D.J. Hope and she's teamed up with a gloriously named Kid out C.R. No Diprivan I mean he wins already right just. Says on the dance floor and coming up behind them is a former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts she's teamed up with Pascha at the bottom of the table I should say is Susannah Constantine teamed up with Anton do back again poor old Anton has his work cut out mind you I mean he's never won a 0 as he done the final but he's not one are many things are not final He's not one but you know what he's one of the biggest names now on the show so it just proves that winning isn't everything I mean if you think about the people who've made their real name on the show for years gone by it's the likes of Russell Grant popping us back it's like you see Dell'Olio sort of was she in a piano or a coffin she did something pretty to rock us interim member so it isn't just the trial it's definitely as they say the Duke of Edinburgh Awards is the taking and also we love the kind of the underdog you know you're not the people who come on I go I can dance and they go off and go yep still can dance. And you know what every whatever seems to happen year after year however far they get yes as you say it's those who sort of sparks their own expectations we have Ruth Langsford I think last year this year I think Kate Silverton perhaps occupies that spot she said herself I'm rubbish and the launch it wasn't that impressive but hey you know there are many many weeks to go I think they've set the bar quite low and they will have the audience on their side speaking of song and I just want to tell you from my count to the on the song Why did the X. Factor you know it's been rumbling on for years they keep reinventing it you know Robbie Williams this year and the ratings are down why. Why is that failing in St Louis just keeps on growing decent Well they're 2 very different shows what you've got on the other side as you say is a bunch of people wanting to prove that they are God given talents and that that isn't necessarily the case and so I think increasing the audience have tired of that sort of the entitle him and goes with that and this is the opposite you've got famous people doing something so far out of their comfort zone that they haue taken down a few pegs and that becomes very levelling to see so many people trying to do something that perhaps they're not very good at it's actually the opposite and I think ultimately we find more appeal in the latter Yeah not that we ever want to laugh at somebody discomfort or anything like that that appeal isn't isn't fact of the cruel no no no no no I don't think it's cruel I think I think we just laugh sort of almost with Yeah I think we just like to see people try and that's always going to be a paling well and also is there is that thing with celebrities you can have you they can only win you over Can't they it's not not often that you want your show like this you know oh I get in now where I want to perhaps you are a bit about you suddenly go on to the wall of the personality and they take it in fun and yeah I'm going to start Exactly and it's very humbling isn't it you see the training studios is where you see the rehearsal all week and it's proper blood sweat and tears nobody's faking it because you can't get away with that and I think that's the difference as well that we really do see that that sort of person or what I hate to use the word journey a real endeavor I mean it's a proper commitment to take on it on Strictly and people change and they say afterwards they often cry however well they do they say it's changed their life taking part people often into things with sequins Well I haven't and already much. Enjoyed the series I love you back to the not so we'll talk probably I would think before and I hope so Caroline Ross there looking ahead to the new series shortly which starts to know you. Does it but you know it's not mentioned in any of the papers today or anything but I on. It's always in that one that one that one that would be that one talent that was well you. Know P.V.C. For G.T. Yeah so it was. One and it was like one of those sort of. Cars. Reinvented for the class. The say that used to be a race car. Did you ever get one. Of the. Following. She. Told me. At. Last. Thank. You. God. God God. God. God God. God God feel. God. Feel. That. I Can't Help Falling in love with you that he. Smell the petrol smell by the way of course if you like anything that's related to what with the exception of almost by big fruit would be the place for you this weekend the Somerset festival of transport will see hundreds of vintage and classic vehicles it's now its 7th year and here to tell us more is the organizer Tony cancer morning Tony. Look we love a classic car on the show so what would what is your car of your dreams when you were growing up Tony. My 1st car was a box Reba Vauxhall vivre are they were great folks over what they did bring Vivus back recently did that some but when you when you had your what were you secretly lusting after what was the car when I when the polls I'm going to have one of those. Voices and we all agree which we have got one here on. Well. I mean you could pick up one of those on e Bay and it probably cost more to we're to ensure that it does drive it as what I think. So so let's let's talk about the the event then now in its 7th year growing every year. We are growing every year. We were a hair framing because the 60 acres saw. More room to grow as this is my force full site since I've been running next and we are growing every So we've got a sink for him here we've got plenty of anger that's nice great that you said you that products also it was one I don't come back every time you went to bed and what won't go to stilted in the fullest place how did you think let's do this well I used to be the chairman of some South Dakota preservation club and I was there for I guess. We call it what it is on all the shows it's a family gathering what we all are yeah and I thought start well and it just took off. We're grown. That way. We. All await is the problem become who our date so that it can carry on yeah yeah you know it's a lot it's a kind of a you know doing a family gathering but finding the hook to hang only sometimes the difficult one I would say you are on to a winner if you talk in vintage vehicles because we all whatever age we are we all know we were growing up and we wanted one of those Whether is the motorbike whether it was the car you know even buses people love dogs. So I mean if you found the. Side of the public you come and have a lot of the people who want to be showing off their classic vintage vehicles as great as well they are. There's a lot more coming. Into the same side. And I say well it sounds like you sound overwhelmed by how well it's going which is really lovely isn't it but some where when and when it comes to the vintage cars and things do people come to you and they say you know after. The sporty one from back to the future can I come along yes. I can I take the bass line we sound like entry forms for them and. It just goes what's going to be the the one that's going to make us go wow when we get there were one of the big ones that we should definitely try and seek out every car you know the little Austin tens and all that kind of stuff they're all lovely Don't get me wrong but one of the ones that will get most excited about the direction. We've been excited for your OK. Of course is not just just the cars Yeah we got. We got American Lowry's. It's not just I'm about motorcycles as well. Many times I got something for everyone and I am I am me people are going to get. On hoping to get. For white lies and get a guy we can pretty well while we keep our fingers crossed for you and it's today and it starts at 9 o'clock where do we find you where. I am which is. Where they hope that you show some proof to make me brilliant Well listen all the very best with. Talking to you next next year Tony when it's year right you find somewhere big to do it so I'm letting you take care thanks a lot and joy that I like you thank you Tony the organizer the service at transport festival gets underway today at Westwood Lynn Sherr grounded for a.
