The town hasn’t had an HR director to this point, he said, with Chief of Staff Dick Fossa serving in that role of late, but officials felt it was time to move in that direction due to all the issues that need to be dealt with on various levels in a changing world.
Lombardi said it still hurts that the town wasn’t able to save $50,000 or more by combining the HR director position with the schools, as he’d advocated for.
In September, school officials again declined Lombardi’s call for a joint position after Lombardi noticed a job posting for the school job. That post has since been filled.
