One of the last relics of the pre-COVID movie era, Todd Phillips's
Joker raked in some serious cash. Though it was initially conceived as a one-and-done movie, rumours of a sequel have been swirling ever since. Now, we have the most compelling evidence that another film is coming via Phillips' lawyer.
The tidbit was buried in a new feature in
The Hollywood Reporter that spoke with various lawyers. In it, Warren Dern of Sloane Offer Weber & Dern revealed that Phillips signed a deal to co-write the next film in the franchise.
Previously, rumours circulated that Warner Bros. had offered star Joaquin Phoenix $50 million to reprise the role, for which he had won an Academy Award.
