The council’s people and performance committee made a recommendation to keep Carran in the job.
Cr Richard Lyon was supportive of retaining Carran, moving that the recommendation be accepted.
“The recommendation has been thoroughly researched and democratically approached.”
Lyon said Carran had been a strength in many ways and difficult decisions had been made.
“I know there have been all sorts of undercurrents, but the reality is - it’s for our organisation to grow and grow and structured for the future. Naturally we can’t please everybody but that’s life.”
