CANTON Significant upgrades are planned for Thurman Munson Memorial Stadium as it becomes the permanent home of McKinley High School baseball.
The Canton City school board on Monday approved a 25-year agreement with the city of Canton to use the facility and make $611,000 worth of improvements to the former minor-league facility at 2501 Allen Ave. SE that was built in 1989. Canton City Council has yet to discuss the agreement.
“This is going to be a fantastic place,” Canton City Schools Superintendent Jeff Talbert said. “Another facility that our folks can be proud to call home and it’s in line what we’ve always done for our students and athletes in this district.”
