Recap of Game 29
Joe Philbin: On a snowy December day in Pittsburgh, our Dolphins pulled off a pleasant, heart-attack inducing win against the hated Steelers. Ryan Tannehill and other familiar names from the past like Daniel Thomas and Charles Clay helped get the Dolphins to a 7-6 record, keeping them in the playoff discussion. But what's that on the horizon? The freaking Patriots, that's what.
Adam Gase: Four years after that and three years before now, Gase's Jay Cutler-led offense surprised all of us when they themselves pulled off yet another upset victory in Miami over the 2017 version of the Patriots, who had come into the game with a 10-2 record. Cutler played really well, and new guys like Xavien Howard and Jakeem Grant made some nice contibutions to help the Dolphins pull off a solid all-around win over a very powerful Pats team. This Fins team, which looked to be dead in the water three weeks prior, had now won two in a row and gotten back to 6-7. A team that had looked so completely awful and lost was now getting people like me to tune back in.
